Katherine's Awakening
The two were alone in the little chamber. No door invited entry; humans were not meant to be in this place uninvited. Polished bricks of dark stone formed the walls, dotted with extravagant silver sconces. Columns of pale wax melted slowly in their holders, flickering flames throwing shadows across the room in a daedal dance. The dance moved over a lavish canopy bed of mahogany, intricate carvings worked into its frame. It was bedecked in crimson gauze above, sanguine silk covering the bed proper. Down feathers filled the embroidered pillows, scenes of the night delicately weaved into the fabric. The scent of lavender permeated the room, emanating from the slowly burning flames hanging from the wall.
Kat lay on the extravagant bed, seeming out of place in her sturdy uniform. She stared in terror and awe at the vampiric demon before her. His form was covered almost completely, from leather-bound feet, past heavy red greatcoat, over dark-tinted glasses, to wide-brimmed crimson hat. Glistening fangs shone beneath his lips, curled in a sinister grin. He moved for the girl on the bed, laughing as she winced in fear.
"You know I can give you what you desire." Alucard's eyes shone even through his shades. He gazed at Kat with hunger, an avarice for souls. She huddled her knees together on the soft sheets, unable to bear the vampire's inhuman voracity. Tears still stained her cheeks, a legacy of the previous night's events. Now she was being given a chance to experience something she barely knew she wanted, a desire that grew stronger as she was subjected to the midian's stare. She uncurled and tried to look into his eyes.
"I want..." her voice choked with emotion this close to the ancient monster. She could feel his power this close, a dark and wonderful Gift of cursed immortality. "I want...to be like you. I want to be a vampire!" Kat collapsed, falling to her knees as she recognized her desire. She waited for strong hands to pull her to her feet and hold her close. But this was not Alvise before her; he would not comfort her ever, would never show human care. She climbed to her feet, stood inches from Alucard's inscrutable face. His smile grew wider, and Kat felt arcane force push her onto the bed. She didn't see the vampire move, but he was suddenly there on top of her, straddling her.
He bent his head low, razor fangs scraping her throat. A deep whisper came from his ruby lips.
"I cannot make you Nosferatu. Your human passion has seen to that." Kat felt as though her soul was being drained away. Yet the vampire continued. "But I can make you see and feel as we do, make you live as a midian for a moment." He stretched out his wrist to her, pale and scarred by battles of the immortals.
Drink.
Kat drove her teeth into his undead flesh, unholy blood spilling from the wound. She drank without thought, the life of countless mortals flowing between her lips. She felt it flow through her, a new pulse that defined her, gave her life beyond humanity. The world became but a shadow, a hollow background for the life within it. Her entire body was fluid, no longer simple clumsy flesh and bone. She felt Alucard's wrist pull away from her mouth, his immortal blood congealing on her lips.
"Come with me," he whispered. "Feel me as only another vampire can."
Kat felt her body move, melting together with her demonic, angelic creator. A passion and pleasure beyond human knowledge filled her completely. She moaned soundlessly as her soul touched the immortal's, a feeling which corporeal nerves could not comprehend. Her entire body was consumed by Alucard; she breathed him, felt him pulse through her veins, felt his unrelenting power deep inside her. Kat felt the immortal in her mind, bringing himself into being in her most passionate fantasies.
