Disclaimer:
I do not own Shaman King, nor any of the characters from it. I do not make any money from the writing of this story.
Chapter 6
AN hey this chapter is kinda like a recitative in an opera, but it has a lot of important stuff in it too. Next chapter we'll get back to what's happening but I warn you, the timeline is a bit screwed up. And there'll be some mild sex scenes soon (not full sex) Woo!
One Soul
Chapter 6
As the group made their way to the Shaman Tournament and tried to track down the elusive village where it was held, Yoh and Zeke managed to meet secretly.
Yoh constantly worried nowadays, though he tried not to let it show.
He neither wanted his friends to worry about him nor suspect him.
He was also a little bothered about what would happen with Anna. He knew that he could never love anyone but his sweet Zeke, but Anna was really scary and—unlike Zeke—had no qualms about hurting him. And not just in a physical way.
He knew that Anna wanted more.
Yoh ended up resenting her in a way. It confused him because he had never really ever had such negative feelings towards another person.
He had only ever hated himself.
But Anna bossed him around and tried to take advantage of his skills as a shaman (though he was extremely grateful for her excellent training).
She was the main obstacle between him and Zeke ever being able to be together in the open, because whilst the others, he knew, would trust his judgement and accept them, Anna would be hurt and angry. Yoh did not want to cause her pain.
He was also questioning whether by spending time with his brother (though they had not ‘done’ anything yet) he was hurting anyone.
Was he?
They certainly made each other happy…
Their relationship would probably only affect Anna.
This made him bitter towards her. Although a small part of him did point out that he wasn’t even giving her a chance.
Either way, the thing Yoh wanted most was just to be with Zeke. His love for him was not something that he could describe. It was not purely sexual, as he knew relationships between other’s were (AN debate the point later ^^), but it was not just a platonic love as he knew how other brothers felt.
So he did not have a name for his love.
He just knew that it burned within him, a mass of emotion and instinct that drew him to the other.
To protect him.
To love him.
To be near him always always always.
The closer he was to Zeke the better, calmer, his soul felt. He could fall asleep in his presence without being tired. Just because Zeke slowed him down, made him care less about everything except the soothing coolness in his mind and the fire in his body that spread in him when they were close to each other.
The sensation that destroyed the constant ache in his being.
Zeke explained to him, not last week, that the ache he always felt was in him, too. That it was because souls were not made to be torn in half.
They were meant to be whole.
And that was how they felt around each other: whole.
The ache went away.
Yoh wondered what it would be like to always have such a sweetness in your spirit as he felt around Zeke Asakura. Because he had explained to him that everyone but them felt that way all the time…
Whereas they only felt it when they were together.
Yoh envied them and wondered how they could ever complain about anything when they always felt so good.
Yoh wondered: would Anna deny him this?
