Chapter warning: Character
death. But he was barely a character in
the series, so I seriously doubt you’ll miss him.
Okay, folks. Here’s where it starts to get dark. I’m gonna hurt Tasuki.
…But it’s his own fault for
looking so pretty when he cries.

Ch. 6 – Disconnect
********************************************************************************
Unnoticed by Miaka, Yui’s eyes
sparkled with impatience. ‘I’ve almost
got it…’ Once she had possession of
this Shinzaho, she and Nakago could force Miaka to give up the other one as
well. Then she could make her wishes,
go home, and pretend this nightmare never happened. Miaka handed it to her and she reached out for it, fingers barely
grazing it…
A hand came out of nowhere and
snatched it away. “No!” she cried,
lunging after it. She stopped short
when she saw Tamahome holding the Shinzaho and looking at her pityingly.
Miaka’s face flickered through
the myriad emotions running through her.
Surprise at seeing Tamahome and Tasuki, happiness at being rescued,
dismay at what Tamahome had done, and dawning comprehension at what his actions
implied.
Yui had betrayed her trust.
Yui was only using her to get
the Shinzaho from Tatara, and she never even saw it coming. If Tamahome had showed up just a little
later… she didn’t want to even think about it.
Oh, how she wished she had her voice right now! She rounded on Yui angrily, but her anger
didn’t stop her from crying. ‘Yui, how
could you? Don’t you know how much you
mean to me?’
Yui stumbled backward as if she
could hear Miaka’s thoughts. But her
features hardened once more, and she turned and ran out of the cell. Miaka would have gone after her, but Tasuki
grabbed her by the arm before she could take off, shaking his head. “Ya’ll c’n settle this some other time. Right now, we gotta get the hell outta
here.”
Tamahome went to the cell’s
other occupant and helped him up off the floor, noting how exhausted he
looked. They had to get him back to the
shrine, and soon. “Tatara, right?”
The gentle-looking man smiled at
him. “Yes, and you’re Tamahome, I’m
sure. Tokaki speaks of you often; he’s
very proud of you.”
The gray-eyed seishi reddened in
embarrassment. “Well, just remember,
you can’t believe everything he says!”
He started as Miaka came tugged at his arm and began gesturing. Her lips moved, but nothing came out. He looked at her curiously, and Tatara
explained.
“One of the Seiryuu seishi
sealed her voice away. She won’t be
able to speak again until the spell is broken.”
“Then we’d better get her out of
here fast. Can you walk if we help
you?”
The Byakko seishi nodded. “I think so. We should–” he broke off, looking to the cell doors as a clatter
approached.
They all turned as Soi and
several soldiers came pelting into the cell, surrounding them. Tasuki cursed and pulled Miaka around behind
him and Tamahome. Tamahome shoved the
Shinzaho into Miaka’s hands before turning to face them as well.
“It seems Yui-sama’s little plan
to get the Shinzaho failed. No
matter. Now we have four prisoners
instead of just two,” Soi said, looking smug.
“Hand over the Shinzaho, both of them, and we’ll let you all go.”
“I’m callin’ bullshit on that
one, lady!” Tasuki retorted. He and
Tamahome braced themselves to attack, but before they could move, Tatara pulled
a small seed out of a pocket. Quick as
a flash, vines erupted from it and shot toward Soi and the soldiers, wrapping
around first their bodies to immobilize them, then their mouths to keep them
from calling out an alarm. “I’ll hold
them as long as I can,” Tatara told them.
“Take your priestess and the Shinzaho to safety.”
“Tatara, what are you doing?”
Tamahome shouted, starting toward the man.
He was stopped from coming any closer when more of those vines blocked
his path. “We can’t just leave you
here! Subaru said you can’t leave the
shrine; you’ll die soon if we can’t get you back there!”
“My job was to protect the
Shinzaho until it was needed by the right people. I’ve accomplished my task.
Suzuno, our priestess… we loved each other very much, but we weren’t
allowed to be together in this life.
It’s finally time for me to go to her, I can feel it. I hear her calling me,” he explained,
smiling. He looked past Tamahome to
Tasuki. “You can understand that, can’t
you?” Their eyes met, and a wordless
understanding passed between them.
Tasuki nodded reluctantly.
Devastated, Tamahome readied to
make one more attempt to reach the man, but Tasuki’s hand on his shoulder
stopped him.
::Look at him, Tama.::
Tamahome did so, and his breath
caught. Tears formed as he realized
Tatara was at peace. Happy.
::We gotta honor that. Let’s do what he said an’ get outta here.::
He didn’t have to look at Tasuki
to know that he was crying as well.
“Thank you, Tatara. We’ll
protect the Shinzaho and use it to save the lives of our people,” Tamahome
pledged.
Tatara nodded to them
gratefully. “Thank you. Tell Tokaki and Subaru that I love them, and
I’m sorry for leaving them.”
With one last look at the Byakko
seishi, Tamahome, Tasuki and Miaka ran out of the cell.
********************************************************************************
An alarm whistle sounded
somewhere in the building, followed by shouting. They were almost out of the temple, but their escape had finally
been noticed. “We’re never going to get
out of here before Nakago catches up to us.
Got any ideas on getting out of here alive?” asked Tamahome.
As they approached the exit,
Tasuki stopped running. “Yeah, I got an
idea.” He turned and stepped in front
of them both, tessen at the ready.
“I’ll cover ya. Get her outta
here, Tama.”
“Are you crazy? I’m not leaving you–”
“Yes you are. Look,
we ain’t got time ta argue! If this
bastard gets Miaka and both of the Shinzaho, this is all fer nothin’ an’ a
lotta people are gonna die when Kutou invades Konan. He ain’t on his home turf here, so he won’t be able ta seal my
powers like he did in Kutou. Besides,
he already got his hands on ya once and look what happened. I ain’t gonna let ya go through that
again. We’re Suzaku seishi first,
right? Do your job and protect Miaka.”
“Do you have any idea what Nakago’s going to do to you when
he catches you?” yelled Tamahome angrily.
Tasuki smirked. “It
don’t matter. Whatever he does ta me
won’t be nearly as bad what he’d do ta you.
Creepy bastard’s got a serious ‘thing’ fer you, an’ he’s probably still
pissed ya got away from him the first time.
‘Sides, I came here ta kick some Seiryuu seishi ass, and I ain’t leavin’
‘til I do. Now go.”
Some of Nakago’s soldiers came pelting around the
corner. “Rekka Shieeen!!” Flames shot out of the fan and down the
corridor, scattering them for the moment.
There wasn’t much time left.
Alarmed, Miaka reached out and grabbed Tasuki’s arm, mouth
working furiously with no audible result.
‘I keep repeating the same mistakes!
I acted without thinking again, and you’re going to pay the price for
it, again! And I never apologized. I never said I was sorry for anything when I
had the chance, and now it’s too late!’
Tasuki stared at her uncomprehending, unable to hear what
she was trying to say. Misunderstanding
her gestures, he grimaced. “It’s a long
shot, but if I manage ta not get killed an’ I c’n get Yui outta here, I’ll
try. That’s the best I c’n do.”
Her face fell. She
just held onto him tighter, shaking her head and sobbing silently. ‘He’s still trying to help me, after
everything, he’s still looking out for me.’
Meanwhile, Mitsukake’s words came back to haunt
Tamahome. ‘Do what you have to do, but
protect him when you can.’ Tasuki was
right, of course. He could hold off a
large group of people with his tessen more easily than Tamahome could
unarmed. With the bond open, he was
sure he could use the weapon as well, but not with even half of Tasuki’s
skill. Leaving with Miaka was the only
choice.
He only wished that doing what he had to do wasn’t so…
impossible.
Tamahome then did the hardest thing he’d ever done in his
life. He grabbed Miaka by the arm and
dragged her toward the exit at a dead run.
She fought him for a moment, tears streaming down her face as she
finally realized the depth of her mistakes.
If he handled her a little more roughly than necessary, he couldn’t be
blamed.
::Don’t you dare die on me. I love you and I need you.
As soon as she’s safe I’m coming back for you.::
********************************************************************************
Tasuki held the soldiers off with ease. After a few foolhardy charges, they all ran
to find hiding places to nurse their burned asses.
All of a sudden, things got quiet. Too damned quiet.
Something floated toward him out of the darkness. He turned to face the new threat, and found…
a kid. A freaky little floating bald
kid with eyes too old for its body.
Holding a prayer wheel.
Kid or not, this creature in front of him had an evil gleam
in his eyes. Tasuki tightened his grip
on the tessen. “What the fuck’re you
supposed ta be?”
The thing gave a mocking bow of the head. “Seiryuu celestial warrior Miboshi, at your
service.”
Tasuki’s lips curled into a smirk. He could take this guy, and he knew it. But he also knew full well that Nakago was around here somewhere,
and he could and most likely would kill him long before Tamahome could get
back. He had figured out a while ago
that if he died, the bond between them would probably take Tamahome down with
him. The only chance he had of keeping
that from happening was to keep the bond closed off. It was just a guess, but it was all he had. Regretfully, Tasuki shut down his bond with
Tamahome by shielding his own mind as strongly as he could.
The strain of losing Tamahome’s constant presence in his
mind hurt like hell and made him dizzy, but he wouldn’t let it show. Tasuki got ready for some kind of attack as
the prayer wheel began to spin.
He sensed the attack a moment before it hit, and leapt out
of the way. He turned, and before him
were four large monsters with wickedly sharp teeth and claws. Tasuki wasn’t about to fight up close and
personal with those things. He called
the flames once more, building them until an inferno whipped around his
body. When the things closed in on him,
he lashed out at all of them at once, incinerating them after only a few
seconds.
Without pausing, he sent the flames shooting out again at
Miboshi. They formed a white-hot rope
that lashed around his small body and began to tighten.
In shock at the unexpected attack, the boy dropped the prayer wheel and
it shattered on the floor. The flames
contracted around him, making him scream in agony.
Desperately, Miboshi reached out to Tasuki’s mind, trying to
gain control of his body. It wasn’t
ideal. This boy’s body was older than
he preferred, and it would take more effort to gain control. But Miboshi had been doing this for over a
century, and the boy didn’t stand a chance against him. His body would do until he could find a
suitable replacement, but he had to hurry.
He only had a few seconds before his current body was destroyed. Miboshi quickly began the mental assault,
sending his consciousness out to crawl into boy’s mind.
Something cold and slimy grabbed hold of Tasuki’s mind and
started to invade. It was sifting
through his thoughts and memories, searching for something. He was momentarily stunned at the unexpected
violation of his mind, and the flames faltered as he grabbed his head and
stumbled backward.
Miboshi was almost there; just a little more and he would
reach the core of the boy’s identity.
Once he ripped it out, the body would be his. But instead of what he expected, he found something odd,
something he’d never seen before in a mind as young as this one.
There were strong shields, stronger than anything he’d come
up against before in his long memory.
It made no sense! At least they
were undisciplined; there were weak spots he could take advantage of. It would take some doing, but Miboshi could
get through. He gathered his strength
and hurled himself against one of those weak spots as hard as he could. The wall cracked a little more and he smiled
to himself. It would only take a couple
more hits.
However, his hasty act unintentionally trespassed on
Tasuki’s bond with Tamahome, drawing an immediate and violent response from the
mind he was invading.
Tasuki snapped out of his shock. A surge of raw anger from him engulfed and dislodged
Miboshi. Enraged, Tasuki forced him out
of his mind. ‘His mind shouldn’t be
strong enough to force me out!’ he thought wildly.
“Get the fuck away from that!” Tasuki roared, before reinforcing the flames
once again. They burned hotter than
they ever had, eagerly feeding off Tasuki’s rage. Miboshi had no chance.
The agony of being burned alive prevented him from concentrating enough
to try again. Tasuki squeezed him with
the rope of flame until he was completely incinerated.
Looking at the pile of ashes on the floor, Tasuki’s rage began
to recede. A little. “Freaky lil’ bastard didn’t put up enough of
a fight,” he grumbled.
“Why don’t you try me?
I’m sure I can do better. I do
owe you my thanks for killing Miboshi, after all. If he wasn’t strong enough to gain control of your body, he was
of no use to me.”
Tasuki grinned madly at the prospect of a good fight, fangs
bared and looking every bit the Phantom Wolf of Mt. Reikaku. “Nakago.
I was wonderin’ when you’d show yer ugly mug.”
The blond warrior stepped out in front of him with mocking
laughter. “I do believe that’s the
first time anyone has ever called me ugly, but I’d expect nothing less from
you, Tasuki-chan.”
“All right ya useless pile ‘a horse shit. I’m gonna knock that stupid grin right off
yer face.”
“Tsk, tsk,” Nakago clucked.
“Such foul things to come out of such a pretty mouth. You’d best not lose to me, or I may have to
find out what else that pretty mouth is good for.”
Tasuki snapped those wicked looking teeth together and
grinned viciously. “Go on. Stick somethin’ in there an’ see what
happens. Try it, I dare ya.”
Nakago’s character flared to life. “I always did like a challenge.”
********************************************************************************
Tamahome and Miaka hadn’t gotten far away from the temple
before Tamahome felt it. A rush of love
and regret came to him over the bond.
Before he could question it, those adamantine walls slammed down between
him and Tasuki, completely cutting them off from one another. Pain lanced through Tamahome and he cried
out and stumbled, feeling the loss more keenly than he could ever have
imagined. Miaka came around in front of
him, face lined with worry. ‘Tasuki?’
she mouthed.
Tamahome nodded dumbly.
“He shut me out. I can’t feel
him anymore.” It was the only
explanation he could give her. There
was no way to explain to her how it felt to have a part of yourself forcibly
shut away, so he didn’t try.
As much as he wanted to hurl himself against those mental
walls until they crumbled, he knew it would do no good. In this, Tasuki was the stronger. The walls wouldn’t come down until Tasuki
took them down. He shivered as a part
of himself went cold. He looked back
toward the temple, wanting nothing more than to go back and drag Tasuki out of
there, and to hell with everything else.
Looking at the desperation on Tamahome’s face, Miaka’s
instincts were telling her that they needed to go back for Tasuki. However, following her instincts had gotten
them all in this mess to begin with. It
was past time to start thinking instead of acting blindly. Tamahome couldn’t take on four of the
Seiryuu seishi and protect her at the same time. It could only end up getting them caught and locked up, at best.
No, Tasuki had been right.
They needed the others if they were going to stand a chance. Miaka’s expression hardened into one of
determination. ‘The sooner we get back
to the others, the sooner they can get Tasuki out of there.’
She grabbed Tamahome by the hand started to pull him away
from the temple, hoping he’d understand.
‘Believe in him,’ she mouthed once she had his attention. ‘He’ll survive!’
He stared at her for a moment in disbelief before nodding
and gracing her with a small smile.
“You’re right. Let’s go.”
He ran as fast as he could, practically dragging Miaka along
after a while as she began to tire.
They were making good time, but they still had a long way to go. Finally, when she couldn’t keep up the run
anymore, Tamahome stopped just long enough to sweep her into his arms before
taking off again. He prayed hard that
he wouldn’t return too late.
********************************************************************************
Tasuki hit the ground hard in a roll and skidded to a stop,
breathing harshly. Fighting Nakago had
taken its toll on him. Nakago’s power
moved at the speed of thought. Tasuki
was fast, but not that fast. So far,
he’d managed to dodge the worst of those devastating qi attacks, but he was
swiftly tiring, and Nakago wasn’t letting him get close enough to land
anything. Blood trailed down his left
temple and out of the corners of his mouth, and there was a lot of internal
damage. He was familiar enough with
broken ribs to know he had a few.
Irritatingly, the blond man looked as calm as could be. “You really are impressive, Tasuki-chan. No one else has ever lasted this long
against me, but it’s over now. Your
strength is almost gone. Why don’t you
just give it up? I’m not going to let
you get close enough to touch me. Just
tell me what I want to know, and I may even let you live. Start with the location of the two Shinzaho,
and finish up with how you managed to keep Miboshi from taking you over.”
Lurching to his feet, Tasuki glared defiantly. ‘I prob’ly only got one attack left in me,
so it’d better be a good one,’ he thought.
“I ain’t tellin’ ya nothin’!”
To his surprise, Nakago chuckled. “I may very well kill you right here, and you’re still not afraid
of me. Not very bright, are you?”
“Why the fuck would I be afraid ‘a you? Yer just a bully, puttin’ everybody else
through the same hell you went through ‘cause ya can’t get ta whoever did it ta
you first. It ain’t original; I’ve seen
it before. Huh. Afraid, nothin’. People like you make me sick!”
The scornful gaze turned pensive. “I stand corrected.
Apparently you’re smarter than you lead others to believe. Very well.
Let’s finish this.”
Tasuki closed his eyes and gathered the flames to himself
once again, wondering if it would be the last time he’d ever feel the
comforting heat of the magically created flames. Opening his eyes again, he struck out with the flames. Nakago smiled disdainfully and created a
shield to protect himself. When the
flames died away, he dispersed the shield, expecting to see a fallen
opponent. But it was not so.
Frowning, he saw nothing on the floor where Tasuki’s
depleted body should have been. A burst
of wind had him turning around, too late to dodge. Tasuki’s tessen caught him full on the side of the face with a
dull crack, followed by a hard kick to the chest that stole his breath and sent
him flying into a pillar. Nakago
dropped to his knees, blood dripping down his face.
Completely drained and breathing too hard, Tasuki slumped to
the ground. He looked up to see Nakago
getting shakily up from the floor, looking stunned. His face was bleeding and his blond hair was slowly reddening in the back from where his head had impacted the pillar.
He was gasping for air, looking like a fish out of water.
It was… funny.
Maybe it was the blood loss making him woozy or the pain
making him giddy, but for some reason, Nakago looking completely flustered was
the funniest thing he’d ever seen. He
couldn’t help laughing. “Can’t touch
ya, huh, ya arrogant little prick?” he gasped out.
A furious Nakago growled.
His eyes narrowed, and Tasuki saw a flash of blue before he was hurled
into the stone wall behind him. His
last thought before darkness claimed him was of Tamahome. ‘Hope yer far enough away by now, ‘cause
that’s all I got Tama.’
An enraged Nakago stood over Tasuki’s prone form. He gestured and one of the hidden soldiers
approached quickly. “Take him to the
cells and strip him.”
“Yes sir. Should we
proceed with questioning?”
“No,” Nakago answered, deadly calm. “I’ll handle that myself. This one stole a shinzaho from me, and now
he’s managed to get inside my guard.
He’s got my attention. We’ll see
how long he can survive it,” he said, touching a hand to his own broken
cheekbone.
********************************************************************************
Tokaki and Subaru’s home finally came into view. Tamahome burst in, startling Chichiri and
Nuriko.
“Tamahome!
Miaka! We were wondering when
you’d show up. Where’s Tasuki?” Nuriko
asked.
Tamahome set Miaka down.
“Seiryuu seishi… have Tasuki… temple… we have to go. Now,” he gasped.
Chichiri immediately concentrated on a spell that would get
them there fast, but some kind of dark, powerful energy kept him from
completing it each time he tried it. It
wasn’t Nakago, it was something else entirely.
After three tries he gave up, not wanting to waste any more time. “Something’s blocking my spells! We’re going to have to go by horse.” He and the others jumped into gear, running
outside to get the horses while Tamahome caught his breath.
Tamahome hated to ask, but if anything happened to Chiriko,
Tasuki would kill him. “Chiriko–”
But the boy only smiled.
“I know. I’ll stay here. My time to help will come later,” he said
confidently. “Just bring back my big
brother in one piece!”
Subaru ran to Miaka, who was gesturing wildly at her
throat. “What happened to her?”
“One of the Seiryuu seishi sealed her voice. Can you help her?”
Subaru looked her over quickly before chanting a spell. Miaka’s voice returned to her
instantly. Tokaki finally noticed the
Byakko Shinzaho in the young girl’s hand.
“The Shinzaho! Then you found
Tatara! We went to the shrine earlier
and it was empty and nearly destroyed.
Where is he?”
Miaka shook her head, sadly. “Nakago had him kidnapped.
He… used the last of his energy to help us escape from the temple.” Subaru clutched at her chest and gasped, and
Tokaki looked like he’d been struck a terrible blow. “He asked us to tell you both that he loves you very much, and he
was sorry to leave you. He said that it
was time to go and be with Suzuno again.”
Subaru buried her head in her hands. Her shoulders shook as she began to
cry. Tokaki moved to wrap his arms
around her, holding her close.
“Master, I’m sorry.
I wanted to bring him with us, but–”
“But he sent you packing?
I know. He’s been waiting for
this for a long time. Don’t blame
yourself, it was what he wanted. Our
grief is only for ourselves. We know
he’s happy now.” Tokaki visibly shook
himself, trying to pull himself together.
“Now, don’t you have something more important to do? Like rescuing your pretty little wife?”
Had the situation been any different, he would have ripped
his master a new one for that last remark, but as it was, he was so relieved to
hear some of Tokaki’s good humor that he could only smile. Chichiri and the others clattered up on
horseback at that moment. Tamahome
hopped up onto his horse and they took off.
“What’s happening, no da?” Chichiri yelled over the
clattering of the horses’ hooves.
Tamahome grit his teeth in frustration. “Tasuki shut me out right after I left the
temple with Miaka. He’s alone up there
and I have no idea what’s going on!”
********************************************************************************
Tasuki awoke on the cold stone floor of a cell, more than a
little surprised to be alive. He
groaned at the myriad painful sensations his body was experiencing. He quickly took stock of the situation. Tasuki found that he was missing his shirt,
boots, and most importantly, his tessen.
He tried getting up, but his battered body just wouldn’t cooperate.
He was well and truly caught.
“Well, well. Finally
awake, I see.”
Tasuki looked up to see Nakago’s face looming above
him. He noted the bloody, broken
cheekbone with great satisfaction.
“Yep. Sorry ta keep ya waitin’,
but I needed a nap. Took a lotta work
ta break that ugly face ‘a yours.”
Nakago’s smirk twisted into a scowl. He kicked Tasuki hard in the gut, and twice
more in the ribs. “Now let’s try that
again. Your friends are somewhere in
this city. Where are they?”
Forcing air back into his lungs Tasuki wheezed, “What, ya
think I’m gonna spill my guts just ‘cause ya kicked me? Pssht.
My sisters hit harder’n you, ya pussy.”
“I could just wait for your friends to show up to attempt a
heroic rescue. I’m sure one of them
will be more cooperative.”
Tasuki chuckled derisively.
“Cheh. Please. They’re too smart fer that. I’m the only one dumb enough ta get caught,
an’ too bad fer you I’m too dumb ta know what’s good fer me. Sorry, but yer stuck wit’ just me an’ I got
nothin’ to say ta you, pal.”
Not for nothing was Nakago called a master strategist. As much as he hated to admit it, breaking
this boy was going to be a challenge.
Although beating him would be quite satisfying, it would never
accomplish anything. The boy obviously
couldn’t be intimidated by physical violence.
Twice now, Nakago had seen him take a serious beating without even
blinking; he treated it as a matter of course.
Rape was a fairly standard tool in difficult interrogations, but the boy
would just see it as more physical punishment; he doubted it would break him
unless it was combined with some kind of psychological element…
It was then he noticed the marks peeking out just above the
waistline of his pants. ‘So the boy has
a lover. How… cute.’ Nakago smirked. It was time for a new course of action.
He hadn’t had to get creative in an interrogation in a long
time. He would enjoy this.
He unfastened his armor and let it drop to the ground before
flipping Tasuki over face first into the floor of the cell, pinning him in
place with a hand to the back of the neck.
He yanked Tasuki’s pants down over his waist and fit his fingers over
each one of the light bruises on his hips in confirmation. He smirked.
“No woman made these marks.
Someone has fucked you recently.
Who was it?”
“Damn, yer worse than the nosy monk! Get offa me, ya sick fuck!” Tasuki yelled.
“Was it the mage?
The physician? Don’t tell me it
was Tamahome!” Tasuki stiffened under
him very slightly, but it was enough to give him away. It wasn’t often that Nakago was surprised by
anything, but this one had managed to do it several times today. “He left that sweet, naïve little girl for
you?” He laughed. “I must say, his tastes have improved;
there’s hope for him yet!” Nakago’s
voice lowered to a purr by his ear.
“Tell me, when he fucks you, do you gasp quietly, or do you scream out
your pleasure?”
“Why don’t ya go ask Tama?
I’m sure he’s got another qi blast he’d love ta shove down yer
throat!” Tasuki shouted, hoping to piss
Nakago off. The sooner they got this
over with, the better.
“Hmmm, you’re probably a screamer.” Nakago murmured,
flipping the bandit over onto his back again.
“Since you won’t tell me, I guess I’ll have to find out for myself.”
Tasuki thought he’d been prepared for anything Nakago would
throw at him, but he was wrong. Very,
very wrong.
“No,” Tasuki breathed as Nakago began to touch him. In his dread, the shields keeping his mind
and Tamahome’s separated faltered a bit, unnoticed by Tasuki.
*************
-_-;; Ummm… Heh, heh…
It’ll only be a few days, I promise!!!
::runs out the door, ducking flying objects::
It’s gonna get worse before it gets better. But trust that it will get better; I like
happy endings. Next chapter: What the
hell is Nakago doing to Tasuki!?!?!
To Yahnkehy: Fear not, Tamahome will definitely get his
chance to do something awesome with the bond and save the day. And it is high praise that I’m managing to
keep them in character; I’m trying really hard to develop them as characters
and still keep them recognizable as themselves! ^_^ Oh, and I promise to
get back to the smut. I don’t know if I
can top chapter 4, but I’ll give it a shot!
LOL! Well, if you’re still
speaking to me after this chapter, I’ll see you next time! ^_^;;
To tasukigirl78: Thank you so much for sticking with
me! I’m super glad you’re enjoying the
story, and I hope to string you along a bit longer! ^_~
