The Weight of Your Gaze
Your eyes constantly watch me. It's not obvious and I doubt that anyone notices, anyone except me that is. The only reason why I know is because I watch you in turn, so I am bound to notice the surreptitious little sideways glances you cast my way.
I've made a game of it just to see if I can catch you in the act. Try and see if I can capture your attention head on, to pull a blush or surprised look from your usually stoic facade. I never do, but that's okay with me. I truly wouldn't know what do then, no matter what I may think, and I have a feeling that *I* may be the one blushing and startled.
I am happy with this one-sided game I play with you and knowing that I am not the only one who feels the pull of this emotion between us. I am happy as long as I can always feel the weight of your gaze holding me gently down. It's, to my mind, the same as a kiss from you.
Yes, I am happy...even though my heart cries out, "If it's endless love you wish, ask for it aloud!"
