Release

Lord Patamon: Yeah, the takari will be there sooner or later.I'll be doing a rather twisted set of few chapters. I can't give away too much because I'll blow the plot, but just trust me; there'll be enough lemons to keep you satisfied for a good while. I'll include a digixdigi and a few digixhumans, none of which- ohhh look, I nearly blew the plot. :D You'l just have to read to see. There's no veexarmadilo cross,I only work with hetero and MAYBE the rare f/f. But m/f for the most.At least YOU'RE reviewing; if it weren't for you, then, I would probably have stopped this fanfic. Read on, lazy fans! Lol.

Chapter Six - "Release"

"Sometimes solutions aren't so simple; sometimes goodbye's the only way. And the sun will set for you; and the sun will set you. And the shadow of the day, will embrace the world in gray, and the sun will set for you." Such a fitting song; death is the biggest goodbye. At least his tortured soul will eventually rot away. But...well well well. Look what my ingenious mind has created. Look at him up there; he doesn't even realize what he's become. He's so weak - so pathetic. It's a shame that he doesn't realize what I've done to him. Maybe I'll just leave his pathetic ass up there like that. Let him rot, let that stupid digimon of his watch him die. Ha! Wouldn't that just be perfect? "And the sun will set for you..." thanks to my hand! HAHAHA!

This movie was nice and all, but Kari just couldn't help feeling very uneasy. She loved spending time with TK; but there was something gravely wrong - she could feel it in her gut. They weren't even thirty minutes into the romantic comedy that she'd asked to see - and now, she wanted to leave. She couldn't totally place it - but something was setting her at ease.
"Kari?" TK whispered, he could see it written all over her. "You look a little pale.."
"I'm not sure why, but something is wrong.." she whispered back. The older lady behind them cleared her breath, subtly issuing her to shush.
"I feel it too - I think we should go after Cody."
"Cody? You think Cody's in trouble?"
"Yeah. I couldn't place it before, but, it's the only thing that makes sense."
"Lets go, TK. If not for him, then to set our hearts at ease." TK nodded, and the two shuffled their way from their row. They left the theatre in a hurry, heading straight for TK's little Volkswagen. Of all the times she'd complained about the rust bucket, she was never more greatful for it then now.
"Your place is closer, Kari - we'll use your computer." Kari nodded in agreement.

Jade had almost completely fallen asleep in his arms, and Davis had zonked out a while ago. But, he was so tender with her, even in his sleep. He had his arms loose, but securely around her - almost like he was trying to protect her. She found it sweet; but hard to buy. Most males did that sort of thing when they wanted the female to stay around. It was never genuine. But he was asleep; was he an exception to the rule? Maybe. Maybe not. Only time would tell, she thought, as she drifted to sleep, unbeknownst to either the torment Cody was suffering...

The Kaiser appeared behind Armadillomon, almost too silently for the small digimon.
"Now, I'll give you a choice, before you decide to take your anger out on me." the Kaiser spoke, crossing his arms over his chest. "Because you know that will get you killed."
"You sick bastard! What have you done to Cody? Why are you doing this?"
"Shut up and listen, you sorry little tearbag. I'll give you a choice. I can leave you here with Cody's digivice after I go get it to find your way home, or, I can let you in there. Choose carefully, once you pick, it's over. I'm only offering once, and I guarantee I won't ever be so kind ever again. It's a shame you had to see that, perhaps you'd like to go in there and console Cody." Now Armadillomon was confused. Why on earth was the Kaiser being so kind? He surely had to have a second agenda through this, somehow. Perhaps he wanted him to go back to the human world, go get the other trainers, so he can do the same to them! Well, he wasn't going to be a hand in that - nor was he about to be leaving Cody's side. Maybe he could free Cody from those chains, and they could somehow break free - yes! That would be what he'd do!
"Choose, you dirt-rat..."
"I'll go in." Ken sneered. Exactly as he'd hoped.
"Good. Come." he spoke, then stepped directly into the wall, standing in the core of it. "Walk through. It will think you're an extention of me." Think? That dark aura can THINK? Armadillomon hesitated. He wanted to go in, but not through that...thing.
"GET IN THERE, you useless little rookie! I won't wait forever, I'll just leave you here!"
Armadillomon closed his eyes and dashed headlong into the prison-like structure. "Ha! You dumb digimon..." Ken laughed, removing himself back to the outside of the wall. "I wouldn't recommend doing that again, you're a vaccine type. That wall is pure dark spore energy, mixed with your basic amoeba, and my DNA. It's more or less sentient antimatter-like forcefield that thinks. It'll turn you into dust, like Cody's stick was. Only Virus types or myself can get through there. Last time I checked, none of your friends are Viral, and I guarantee that none of the virals around here will help you. I won't be back, so have a nice life. Soon, you'll downgrade into In-training, then Baby, then egg, and when there's no more energy....HAHAHA! Cody won't last that long. Now, he only has about half a month before he slips into a coma, then he'll rot away until he dies. I certainly hope your nose isn't that good; decaying human flesh is unmatched for stench. HAHAHA!" Armadillomon ran to the wall, but stopped just short of it. He was about to shout at the ignorant Kaiser, but he'd vanished. Armadillomon sighed, and cast his eyes at the roof. Was this the end? He should have chosen to go back. Logic didn't help him this time.
"You're not a murderer..." he muttered, staring back at the place that the Kaiser had just stood. "YOU HEAR ME? YOU'RE NOT A MURDERER!" he yelled, as loud as he could. "YOU'VE DONE MANY EVIL THINGS, KAISER, BUT YOU'RE NOT A MURDERER!" his eyes shifted up to the unconscious Cody. "I just hope you realize it in time."

Not a murderer? What is that moron talking about? I suppose taking a human life would be a first for me. Leaving him to rot, that's not murder; murder was more like cutting someone up in little bits, and feeding it to the digimon. Murder was hanging someone from the ceiling and removing their organs; it wasn't letting them hang when you were done your little experiment. Murder. HA. I'm no murderer. I'm just not nice enough to let him go, that's all. Right wormmon?

Kari whipped open the door to her apartment, not bothering to knock and see if Tai was home. She'd gone over so many scenarios in her head as to why Cody could be in trouble, and none of them were good. By now, she was paranoid and eager to just go find him to set herself at ease. She made a beeline into her bedroom, followed by TK, and an insanely curious Tai, who'd been watching TV.
"What's up?" he asked, not quite thinking that the two could possibly be going in there for...other matters. He'd not clued in about the two yet; they'd tried to keep the relationship quiet, and make it look like they were still friends.
"I don't know, Tai, honestly..." Kari replied, hitting the button on her computer to turn it on.
"We're going to check up on Cody." TK supplied. Tai frowned, and yanked the power cord for the computer from the wall.
"No you're not, guys. Cody is fine. Look, he won't like it if we check up on him. And he isn't doing anything insanely dangerous; he's only seeing what's happening at the Kaiser's castle. He isn't going in any farther than he has to. Now you guys are going to stay put in the real world, okay? And to make sure you won't just go to TK's and go, you're both staying here with me. We can't baby Cody forever. It's just not going to go over very well. He's well old enough now. Besides, I have all three Terminator's, and pizza coming." Kari sighed. She should have known that would happen.
"We should have gone to your place, TK. Matt would have gone with us..." she sighed. Tai thinned his eyes slightly. He really didn't like the mild comparison with Matt, even these years later. "And next time Tai, DON'T just barge into my room!"
"Why? It's not like anything's going to happen. You weren't about to change or anything."
"That's besides the point; it's my room, and I don't want anyone you to just charge in as if you're entitled to, just because you're my older brother." Tai cocked his eye. She wasn't like this LAST month. Either this was that time for her, or....
"You two are dating!" Kari's eyes flashed with shock, but it was shoved down rather quickly.
"No we're not, I just want some priva-"
"Yes! You are! You guys are dating! That look on your face, it's obvious! Ha!" Tai was grinning. He'd thought those two would be a cute couple.
"...Tai, just stop okay? Why do you have to have your nose in everything I do?"
"I think it's great, and your secret is safe with me. I won't tell." he replied, then slung an arm around TK. " 'Eyyyyyyyyy brother! Use a rubber, ahh?" TK flushed with red, which rivaled tomatoes for color.
"Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh..." was all the poor guy could say. Tai laughed, and Kari whapped him good on the shoulder.
"You must have gotten high or something, you're impossible!" she exclaimed, and shoved him out of her room. Tai was too busy laughing to really care; he hadn't taken any of it seriously. Kari locked her door, and sat herself on her bed. "It's like he doesn't realize what a jerk he's being."
"Kari? I honestly don't think he does...I think he's just trying, in a really weird, unhelpful way, trying to set you at ease."
"You're probably right, TK. I just wish he wouldn't."

Armadillomon had spent the last chunk of time trying to figure out how to get Cody down without...Well, killing him. If he cut the leg chains, and either one of the arms, he'd fall into the dark spore wall. If he cut the arm chains, same thing would happen. If he could figure out how to take down two at once, he'd...Splat into the ground. Would the chains be long enough to take two out, for him to just rest on the floor while he removed the other ones? But, that would make him splat onto the ground. If he digivolved, somehow, then he might be able to take down a spire - that is, if he could touch them. And, then that might do something to the spore wall. No matter what he thought of, there was something wrong with it. Suddenly, as if triggered by his frantic thought, the Kaiser's words rang in his head. "I can leave you here with Cody's digivice after I go get it..."
"THAT'S IT!" Armadillomon exclaimed. The Kaiser didn't know about that little messaging thing that Cody had! "He made a mistake in telling me he needed to go get the digivice, thank the gods!" the digimon exclaimed. He dashed over to where the chain was leeched onto the spire, and stared up at it. He could jump up there, but would it kill him? Armadillomon shook his head. He couldn't think of that. He had to try. And so, gathering what little guts he had, Armadillomon lept. He clasped onto the chain, and froze - as if something was going to happen. But slowly, he realized, nothing had. Of course; if it was infected too, Cody would be dust. Excited, the small digimon skittered up to the unconscious trainer, and carefully slipped his hand into his pocket. He was tender, trying not to hook his claws on anything. The digivice and the odd square message thing fell the dozen feet to the ground, followed shortly by Armadillomon.
