Chapter 6: Rebirth

She slowly was beginning to understand the meaning of this explanation about the Ancient Zodiac spirits.
"So you really want to give me the key, who you had just earned in return for one of those keys that you mentioned?" She asked getting up from his chair.
"Very quickly realize my intentions. You know I," he hesitated when approaching stopped next to her, "have always had huge reserves of magical energy even as a child. I just feel that I have to use it for good."
"By gathering all the keys to the Ancient Zodiac?" She walked away from him a bit.
"That is no longer possible. Most of the key is already held by mages who, like me have enough magical energy to be able without mentioned by me dangers use the keys. However... still two or three keys are there somewhere," hand gesture indicated world outside. "I'll pay any price to make sure that they don’t fall into the hands of some dark mage, which then desired to get the rest."
"So please think about my proposal," he said when he bowed and left room leaving her alone.
"Key for the key. Very strange proposition," she mused clutching a gold key. If I even never find any key that Raven looks for will proposal be still valid? After all, he could be aware of this but still presented the same proposal.
"Oh here's a young lady," she heard the butler, who entered the room. "Am I interrupting?"
"No I'm just wondering on the proposal."
"I just step by as the young master asked me to leave it," put on the table a rather large bag. "As he said, just in case if the young lady agrees."

"You're anxious," said Kanna seeing how Natsu looked around furtively around the room.
"No not at all," he said smiling.
"You can’t fool my senses. Anyway yours is probably just as sharp but I think even we won’t hear what they talk about," she said improving the position, in which she sat. He reluctantly agreed with her, stating that despite the sensitive hearing could barely hear anything from the next room, which was at least strange. He could hear what was happening in the hall and two people who were in this room come to the other room and then also he couldn’t longer hear them.
"You might think why you don’t hear anything from the room next to you?" She narrowed her eyes looking at him.
"And do you hear" He asked her a trick question.
"If I tell you, I could barely hear would you believe me?" She looked away noticing a piece of ice lying next to his chair.
"No," he said suspiciously.
"You see them?" She touched her elongated ears. "I was born with them anymore so how to put it... from birth some of my senses, such as hearing were similarly sharp as you have them after learning your magic and now after learning dragon slayer magic they sharpened even more."
"Ouch cold." Happy spat ice in the shape of a fish.
"Of course. And how suppose to be ice?" She joked reaching to thrown away by cat a small piece of ice. "So what you want to ask me as fellow dragon slayer?" She looked at Natsu.
"That your giant friend. You mentioned that he’s too dragon slayer. Also use ice as you?" asked Dragneel sitting on the chair.
"You noted yourself that smells like me. Of course he uses ice otherwise why I bothered with him if he wasn’t the same mage type?" She said if it were the most obvious thing.
"I don’t know. Never met other dragon slayers so far," at this point a thought came to his mind. "Who taught you both magic?"
"I’m not sure who taught him so you would to ask him and me of course it was Koriana," she said resting her head on the back.
"Where is he now?" Natsu eyes lit up with a hope. If he has found the dragon, who taught Kanna her magic maybe could find out anything about the whereabouts of Igneel.
"Koriana is an ice dragoness and don’t know where she’s now. Suddenly left me several years ago," she said a little saddened.
"So your dragon also disappeared seven years ago?" He jumped to his feet.
"Hmm, who was the dragon who taught you magic? Because I assume that the dragon teaches you it and you don’t learn it in a different way," she said casually.
"Igneel the fire dragon. Why are you so calm? And what it means to learn it in a different way?" He stopped seeing the she despite the news which he said to her remained unmoved when he was about to fly one knows where to look for his foster father. Also perhaps involuntary note of learning dragon slayer magic other than from the dragon intrigued him.
"You forget that I was raised by the ice dragoness. She taught me that I have to keep calm as she liked to keep saying: keep cool almost icily calm and composed mind. You I see, how the fire dragons tend to very quickly fired up to different things. Sorry, but I’m afraid that our dragons taught us quite opposite ways of approaching different issues. And as for the other way if you don’t know is not worth to mention it to you at the moment," then she felt a small paw touching one of her breasts.
"And what do you think you are doing?" She with a scary glare looked at Happy, which immediately withdrew its paw.
"I just wanted to see if they are real," he said with a disarming smile.
"Of course, they are real. And when you try to check again will regret it," her voice held a threat.
"But why are they such? Lucy doesn’t have such huge," small exceed still drilled a topic.
"Do you like fish? Saw you wanted to eat a piece of ice in the shape of a fish?" She asked, hoping that she would manage to change the subject. "I think Alfred would know if there are any normal fish in the kitchen."
"Fish!" Happy glad ran out of the room.
"Go to the right and then the third doors to the left leads to the kitchen," she said to him, to which he happily flew in the direction indicated.
"There are really very large," Natsu said looking up at them.
"Do not look that way at me!" She covered her breasts with her hands even though her armor doesn’t reveal that much of her body. Well it didn’t covering too much anyway and yet still she felt the need to additional cover herself somehow. Looking into his eyes, she noticed something strange. It wasn’t a sight of a man who looks at her with lust rather someone who was just curious at what he seeing. Had he so little knowledge about male-female interactions?
"Why?" He asked puzzled. He recalled that other women in the guild also have different approaches to this. Erza didn’t mind as he stared at her, Mirajane and Cana pointed out to him that he shouldn’t look at this part of the female body too much.
"Girls just don’t like when you look at them. Unless you're with that girl very close," in deep of her soul she was furious. As how she suppose to explain him that such behavior is normal when you are really close with other person. And he seemed to have hardly any idea about intimacy. "Just like me with as you called him a giant friend."
"You mean he can look at them?" Again he asked with disarming sincerity.
Before we have tried to answer blushing servant entered the room carrying a dress.
"New cloth for miss from young master," he said, and putting it on the back of an empty chair left the room. She stood up and walking over took the dress.
"Could you at least turn around?" And when he didn’t move, she added. "Please."
At this he turned and she concentrate causing armor disappeared into pocket dimension. Trying to hurry up she put on brought by Alfred dress.
"You can turn back," she said and he turned toward her.
"Oh," he sighed, seeing as she was now dressed in a crisp white reaching to the ground dress covering quite tight her ample shapes but still leaving most of the back exposed.
"As for your earlier question, of course he can and not only that," at the end she gave him weird glare. "But that you need to learn from someone else."
"How's fish?" She asked seeing the blue cat, which just came back to the room carrying almost completely eaten fish.
"Very tasty," Happy said happily. "Ohhh," he sighed involuntarily seeing Kanna in another dress.
"What it’s just a casual dress?" She said, marveling at their reaction.
"May their never seen any girl in such dress," she heard a woman's voice and turning around saw Lucy coming out of the other room. And also a familiar look that has sent a second mage, the same she had seen more than once. So far it was a look of concealed jealousy but it's not her fault that she looked like that. Maybe if she knew her parents a little bit would know if that's the case, she looked so uncommonly. And her sister never talked about any of them even a word while Kanna suspected that Gianna knew something.
"Oh, I see that you both finished talking. So I think that in this case all been taken care of. Am I right?" She asked looking at the bag that blonde mage was holding and just smiled.
"Yes," said with a slightly distant expression Hearfilia, "let's Natsu and Happy. We must get back." said blonde-haired mage and started to leave. The two friends followed her.
"Safe travel," said goodbye to them on the doorstep Kanna. She stood there until they disappeared behind a nearby corner.
"So their gone now?" A tall man with short blue hair and blue eyes hugged her waist almost pulling in and closing the doors.
"Of course," she shortened the distance between them and gave him a long passionate kiss. "So how do go your talk with that mage?"
"If she didn’t leave the key and additional compensation that Alfred brought into the room to mean she agreed." said Arik took her by the waist and carrying her with a bride style went to one of the room and sat down on the sofa. Then he materialized a platinum key.
"Open the Gate of the Cat! Nyana!" Almost immediately materialized cat spirit in its true form and sat on the other sofa.
"So you're saying that seen in their guild job with a high prize and an additional bonus in the form of silver key?" asked closing his eyes.
"Of course, but it seems to me that this was a job for their S-class mages. I don’t know if these two are such mages," said crimson-haired woman.
"Why then you gave her a golden key?" asked a little concerned Kanna.
"Remember how I was recently visiting that young dragon slayer, which was raised by sky dragoness. I met there a small cat, who told me about a vision she had. So I have a basis to believe that this mage will come sooner or later in the possession of one of the last platinum keys," he said quietly.
"Which key it can be?" asked the golden-haired mage.
"From the information that I was able to put together so far celestial spirits summoned with Rabbit, Rat and Dragon key didn’t enter into contracts with any mage. And since I held Rat key there are only two possibilities," he smiled mysteriously.
"You don’t suggest that the reward for this mission can be the key to the dragon empress?" Nyana jumped to her feet. "You know that she is not like other spirits. She is the strongest among us whose keys are scattered around the world."
"That's why I can’t let the likes of stellar mages like Angel to get a hold on this key. Coming back to Rat key this mage reminded me of something." He scratched his head. "How was it? Stellar mage that visited my father knew that her power begins to disappear. So she gave the keys to trusted people that would if her daughter wants to follow in her footsteps to give the young mage keys. Either of you remember the name of the mage? Somehow I didn’t pay much attention when father was talking about it."
"I think I remembering something," said Nyana. "I think it was Layla Hear... something if I’m not mistaken."
"Hearfilia?" asked her Arik.
"Yes it sounded like that. You recalled it now?" Crimson-haired spirit looked at him.
He materialized in his hand another platinum key form pocket dimension. "No. Just this stellar spirit mage who was here just introduced herself to me as Lucy Hearfilia. Nyana," he said turning head in her direction. "I think I will ask you to verify certain things in the spirit world if it is not too difficult for you and when you get back inform Madea that I will summon her soon to perform some minor thing."
After that Kanna mentioned to Raven about meeting Inferno, on which he reacts with anxiety and almost immediately ran heading for the place where the body of giant dragon slayer. However at the site he didn’t find anything except traces of fighting which worried him greatly.
At that time, Natsu and the others slowly headed for the railway station in Hargeon after surrendering to Lucy pleas that she wants to come back by train. When Dragneel and Happy initially opposed she promised little cat when their will be back a few fish and the other one whatever he wants to eat no matter how much it will cost in one of the restaurants in Magnolia. And so try to convince them to the idea proved to be successful and she was sitting in the train on the opposite seat to Natsu, which was trying to overcome his motion sickness and trying to help him blue cat.
'Key for key' she thought reaching into his pocket and feeling in her golden key. 'I hope make good decision accepting his proposal.'
Several hours later they were in Magnolia and Natsu felt a relief when they left the train. Evening was falling when they have finally reached the guild. However, as soon as they walked inside all feel extremely sleepy and fall asleep. After they woke up Lucy learned that guild was visited by Mystogan and then she saw the short argument between Laxus and Dragneel.
'Everything seems to be happening according to the vision of this little cat' thought giant covered with black as night fur shape hiding near the ceiling of the Fairy Tail headquarters seeing how a small blue cat stealthily approached and took the piece of paper from the board at the infamous second floor. After that avoiding sight of the present inside mages left the building and jumping across rooftops walked away from the guild hall. At the same time in another part of town pink-haired mage and his feline companion visited their friend in her home.
"What are you doing in my house?" She yelled seeing both as their exercise. "You go to practice together."
Then Natsu tried to give her a pink dumbbell on which she renewed attempt to get rid them out of the house crying for help. Dragneel said he decided to do some S class job.
"Where'd you get that?" Hearfilia horrified at seeing held by Happy job request.
"What do you mean?" asked the blue cat.
"But we can’t go to the second floor, right?"
"I just took it," he said quietly happy.
"Cat-thief!" She was devastated by carefree little cat attitude.
"Anyway, since this is our first order of S-class he chose the cheapest," said Natsu putting on scarf, "and it’s still 7,000,000 jewels."
"Good so go do it them both," she said. "I didn’t go."
"But it is a task to save the island. Cursed Island Garuna," said Natsu doing scary face along with feline friend.
"Damn. Then I definitely not going with you," she said firmly.
"And if I give you half of a fish?" Happy proposed.
"It will not convince me," she said.
"Tch. Let go home," said fire mage standing in the window on what echoed his feline friend. "Aye."
When their left the apartment through the window despite her pleas that they should used the door, she sat down and breathed a sigh of relief. But then she noticed that their left the order and was afraid that she would be now accused of taking it. Looking at a piece of paper something caught her attention. Besides jewels reward count also silver key.
"Huh?" She picked up the paper.
"Such a serious job and silver key as an additional reward?" She wondered. She felt that something is not right and involuntarily reached the table found a bag lying there. Reaching into her pulled out a small bundle and unwrapped it. Inside was a gold key. The key to summon the archer, which she could use at any time and gain another friend.
"Mages sometimes confuse it with the typical silver key and try to summon spirit in order to made a contract," she repeated one of the things that stuck in her mind after talking with a mysterious stellar spirits mage. She remembered also as one of her own spirits warned her a few days ago about that mage. Actually she saw with her own eyes that he had powerful spirits and now she had with her one of the ecliptic zodiac keys.
"And if it's not a silver key the extra reward but just platinum?" She thought sitting in a chair. "It would fit that it is the addition payment for such a difficult job but why the customer didn’t write about it?"
Moment she thought before she decided to go. She after all took the key and additional payment. She will worry about later as long she survive to the end of the job.
"Natsu! Happy! Wait for me," came the cry as her rushed to try find them on the streets of Magnolia.
At a time when the three friends left the Magnolia to complete request somewhere in Fiore was moving train with three characters. One was a short man slowly falling into his old age, the other side was a tall still young man. Opposite to them sat individual wearing a mask holding a large bag.
"You again disappoint Angela," said Zalty. "What are you planning now?"
"I don’t know yet," said the shorter man staring out into window.
"She will find you sooner or later. But if you reconsider my offer you have opportunity to escape from this mess alive," said the masked man and stood up, "I go a bit around the train. I expect that when I’ll be back you’ll give me an answer."
"It isn’t good boss," the tall man began when Zalty left train compartment they was in.
"Shut up Akira," grumbled the other man. "A lot may depend on whether we go back to receive punishment from Angel or we agree to the proposition of that Zalty."
"Overall, what is there to reconsider?" said Akira. "His suggestion is to us move to his guild and then we can learn powerful magic over time as we show our loyalty. This is just another dark guild so is it a big difference?"
"You know Ikari. This is what worries me most," said the shorter ice mage, "powerful magic mean some handicap. Sacrifice something maybe not physically but always something. And he not only didn’t mention it and also so casually offers learning that if you change the guilds. "
"We can always come back to Angela. Want her to explain how we even lost Inferno, which was assigned to help us? Overall, it wasn’t even her subordinate only by some arrangements with another dark guild she gained his services." Akira thought. "I told you after the first attempt, that girl could be an ice dragon slayer but obviously you didn’t listen."
"Silence," cut him short mage, "Now it doesn’t matter. When we met two slayers having only one it’s good that we come alive of it. Did you see this spell, which beat Inferno? It was a frightening display of power for me."
"Indeed it looked like her ace in the hole but don’t remember if someone wouldn’t came to help them we could still get the key," protested Ikari. "She wasn’t able to fight afterward."
"You have done chatting?" suddenly broke their conversation Zalty entering the compartment.
"So you say if we take your proposal then you will take us to your master even now? And our business with Angela will be dealt with too? “ asked the low mag.
"Of course," smiled the masked man. "So since I came back a little earlier than planned while you still was talking you both want to think a little longer about it?"
"I agree," replied the shorter ice mage and poked Akira.
"Me too," he replied having bad feeling.
"Well, I am delighted," he said reaching into the bag and taking out a fairly large crystal covered with something. "Yes, I think that one of you can already get a welcome gift. To show that my promises aren’t just an empty words. It will be start to mastering magic of which I mentioned earlier. Which one of you wants to start mastering this new wonderful magic now and here? "
"Me," said with confident Ikari boss. Anyway why would he let his subordinate be fist before him in anything?
"Well, since you so eager," he said, and with fast monition impale crystal in his chest.
"You son of a b....," lower magician tried to reach the crystal, however he felt his strength drined and his body began to ache as if the entire body burst into flames. He also began to hear a voice from the distance. Talking something along lines: New body. Great.
"What did you d...," Akira stopped seeing Zalty began to change taking the form of a young attractive woman with dark purple hair.
"Easy is just someone you met some time ago," she smiled mysteriously reaching calmly, as if nothing have happening to one of the men and pulling a small crystal ball out of the bag. "And now let's concentrate on you," she moved closer and leaned toward him. "It even better that when your boss decided to be the one. Shame to lose someone like you."
"What do you mean?" He asked pushing her on what she put no resistance and returned to her place on the other side of the compartment.
"You said you met ice dragon slayer, right?" She asked.
"That's right, so what?" Akira looked at his boss. His body every few seconds shakes convulsions and crystal seemed to disappearing every moment deeper and deeper into the wound on his chest until he disappeared fully.
“Did you hear about the magic that will cause that even she wouldn’t be able to turn your attacks against you?" With a corner of her eye she looked at moving as if had been shaken from time to time by seizures shorter mage.
"That I have to learn?" He looked away and saw in the eyes of his boss a strange flash like would burn flames in them. "And end up like him?"
"No. He just voluntarily made the greatest sacrifice that any mage can do. He gave up his entire life completely to Inferno," she laughed.
"Inferno? Such as that mage named him immortal dragon slayer? For me, he looked too much mortal," he teased.
"So you think he died?” he heard voice of his boss. Yet despite this there was something wrong. Yeah, definitely the flames surrounding his hands were not normal too.
"How long?" asked calm Inferno.
"This time really fast. Not more than a day since the previous host was killed," she succinctly presented him facts that he wanted to hear.
"Inferno?" Akira's eyes widened.
"I am immortal after all," he laughed and flames surrounding his hand died out replaced with a blue glow.
"Hmm ice magic. Good this time it was a mage and not some peasant," said with satisfaction Inferno. "It may be worthy take this magic to the next incarnation."
"How is that possible?"
Inferno grabbed Ikari. "Keep asking questions and another who body I will take over when this body die will be you. Did I make myself clear?"
"Of course," Akira swallowed nervously.
"Take it easy, don’t try to fight here," brought Inferno to line female mage. "And now let continue our conversation, which interrupted me Inferno with his rebirth," she looked at the Ikari.
Another hour before train stopped at the target station Akira, Inferno and purple-haired mage spent on a lively conversation.
Next day passed peacefully and simply. Natsu, Lucy, Happy, Gray and Erza were busy exploring secret of the cursed island and demanded the destruction of the moon as the islanders blame their purple moon for changes into demons every night. Over time it turned out that on the island was others people and in ruins their found frozen demon, that Gray identify as Deliora. Akira under the guidance of a new master started learning new magic. And in Edolas Knightwalker with troubles was accustoming to side effects of lacrimas implantation.
"Get out," she said throwing toward the maid cup, that she could close the door in time so the flying object hit the wooden doors.
"Their bothering me again," she angry said removing gloves. She looked at her slightly altered nails and sighed. Recent days have been tough. Byro still trying in some way to get her to undergo a complete physical examination to determine that there were no side effects.
The king was fortunately not so inclined after she proved that she can remove the seals of the items they had gathered in storage. Besides testing the magic of these items don’t require her participation or to make it a requirement to examine her, so as usual she went on an expedition to find new location of Fairy Tail.
"What it can be?" she mused aloud fingering small platinum key with some symbol that she kept tucked away in a cabinet next to the bed. It must have been a magical item since it she found it at the morning after the memorable night in the store.
"Key but where are the doors where it fits? Or maybe some chest?" She shook her head. "No. Not seen any box or anything else that would require a key of objects that come from the other world. Yet I still have that strange lingering feeling that this is something important."
With the key in hand she lay back and dozed off starting to dream a dream, which she have sometimes. Although always some small details been changing in subsequent dreams.
She flew high in the air and looked down as if watching for something. Then some shadow covered her. Looking up she saw a huge lizard with extensive wings all covered with blue scales, which glided over her. Then he looked at her and for a moment world went dark and she felt as something massive collided with her. When she came back to her senses she was on the ground at some clearing. Before her stands a tall blue-eyed man.
"What do you want?" she asked.
"The key," this time he said something else. He always said something about that he want her. It always reminded her that she swore never be anyone's trophy.
"Why do you need it?" She said preparing to the fight.
He didn’t answer but she felt like a key that was hanging on her neck began to burn her. She grabbed it and broke the necklace it hanging on but didn’t let go even though it grew hotter. And he was unemotional just staring at her, her body. Not enduring long she threw away somewhere to the side blazing white-hot key. However it didn’t fall down but hung in the air starting to change. It grew up before it took the form of a huge winged reptile, which just looked at her curiously and vanished into thin air.
"Now I have to subdue you," another change in her sleep. Always it would be a moment earlier he would say that it would make another part of his collection. The threat of enslavement caused her whole body shudder.
"Try it," she said, and rushed toward him. As always he turned into a winged reptilian humanoid and their clash in a duel. Once again after a while she ended up winning it when he lay pressed by her body to the ground.
"You don’t belong to this world," he turn back took to human form. "I'll help you get back to a place that is your home."
Then everything went black and woke up still clutching a mysterious key. However the blissful feeling didn’t gone yet.
"Well today's dream was different," she smiled slightly and put the key to the cabinet fell asleep again. Somewhere in another part of the building, a group of people failed another attempt to use Anima.

"What happened?" Nyana narrowed her eyes looking at his master.
"No, nothing important. Once again, I was just a glimpse of some person," Arik said casually. "Since all known people to me that are dragon slayers heard a scream in the morning a few days ago, sometimes I have visions of her. Well but it doesn’t have to be anything important."
"I hope," said the celestial spirit and calmed back to watch as the owner went back to study some thick book. She always wondered what the human mages can see in those books. But she wasn’t AS bored to ask any of them what is this all about.

A/N: Too hot here today for me make any coherent notes but let try: Happy was I hope hilarious in this chap and think can be killed next time he try do something *giggle* Also one of long term villain at least get his very own name ^^ (suppose too much akira/eva manga in my head when was make up my mind on his name xD ) Ah and I start leaving new trace of bread crumbles to ya all to enjoy.
