Athena Arc-Chapter 150: Nimbasa Town Tournament Is Underway!
We were at the Nimbasa Town Pokémon Center. Akane was carrying a small Mei. On both of my and Akane’s right wrists were a jewel encrusted wristbands.
Me: (talking to Akane) Ready?
Akane: (nods) Ready.

Few Minutes Later
Saria: (yelling at me) Get off of me!
After we had told everyone the truth, Saria attacked me. I only sat on her arms and back.
Me: (nonchalantly) Do you give up?
Saria: (struggling) No, never!!
Marucho: (surprised) (talking to me) Why did you both keep it a secret from us?
Me: (talking to my teammates) If we only told you guys, who do you think will accidentally blab it to Saria?
All eyes were on Gash.
Gash: (shocked) What? (disagrees) I wouldn’t!
Me: (sarcastic) Uh-huh, (rolls my eyes) sure you would. (talking to Ash’s group) And if we told you guys as well, Saria might’ve pick up your thoughts and would find out. That’s why we’ve kept it a secret. We decided to reveal it after Mei hatched from her egg.
Derpy: (smiles) She sure is cute though.
Akane: (smiling) Yeah, our little Mei is so cute. (cuddles Mei) Aren’t you? Yes you are!
Me: So that makes Saria and Light Mei’s grandparents. Also,that makes Saria my mother-in-law, and Light my father-in-law.
Saria: (argues) No way am I going to be your Mother-in-law, you’re not even a Pokémon!!
Me: (grins) Who cares, anyway? (laughs)
Everyone (except Saria) began to laugh.

Few Days Later
The Nimbasa City Tournament was about to begin.
Cilan: (observes) Ah, an exciting flavor is in the air.
Ash: (grins) I'm going to win this thing.
Iris: (talking to Ash) You overconfident kid.
Angie: (talking to Iris) You better be glad you got over that Dragon Sneeze.
Iris: Ooooo,look here, if I have to face any or all of you then I'll beat all of you.
Dawn: (smirks) (talking to Iris) Keep talking.
Zoey: (joins them) (talking to Dawn) You better put on a damn good show Dawn, for if I see any rust in your battle technique I'm dragging you to a region with nothing but contests.
Dawn: Wait, you're not competing?
Zoey: (grins) Nah, I have to scout you.
Drew: (appears) (talking to May) But I'm competing, provided we even face each other.
May: (gasps) Drew?
Drew: Unlike Zoey, I want to see if you have any rust up close and personal.
Harley: (appears as well) (talking to May) No, that's not Drew's reason. Drew just wants to beat his love for you into your Pokémon, May.
Drew: (shouts at Harley) Harley!
Harley: (runs way) (sings) See you at the tournament!
Drew: Get back here! (chases after him)
Zoey: (talking to May) That guy is so weird. (talking about Harley)
May: Nothing I didn't already know there.
Zoey: (thinking) (serious) Alright Ash, if Dawn is rusty so help me I'm going to tear off your arm and beat you with it.

Few Minutes Later
The first battle was Ash vs. Luke.
Luke: Golett, let's go! (throws Poké Ball)
Luke's Golett appeared.
Ash: (talking to Akane) Alright Akane, let's go!
Luke bit his lip.
Luke: Ok, Double Team.
Ash: Calm Mind, then combo of Pound and Force Palm!
Akane didn't listening to Ash, all she did was dash towards Golett while it was using Double Team.
Akane's fist glowed white while she was dashing towards the Golett at three o'clock, fast.
Luke: Shadow Punch!
Akane dodged Golett's Shadow Punch and went in front of Golett. She jumped and punched Golett in the face, sending it flying.
Akane: I'm not done yet!
Akane appeared above Golett. Akane then kicked Golett at the top of its head, sending Golett falling towards the ground at a high speed. Golett then crashed into the ground.
Luke: (worried) You okay Golett?
Golett struggled to get up, but nodded. Akane fell towards Golett while building up energy for something.

Flashback Starts
It was during when I was teaching Akane Food Honor.
Me: (holding the egg) (talking to Akane) You know, Akane.
Akane: (confused) Know what?
Me: If you learn Food Honor in two days, it'll help you in battles. It'll help you keep a clear mind and increase your power. You can't rely on moves that power you up. You only do use moves like Calm Mind in case of an emergency.

Few Minutes Later
Akane was meditating in front of 10 Torchorsetails.
Me: (talking to Akane) Keep a clear mind and only think about giving thanks to food.

Flashback Ends
Akane: (takes a deep breath)...(breathes out) Ah...
Akane’s right hand was glowing white. She brought it back as she was nearing Golett.
Luke: (worried) Golett, Shadow Ball!
Golett launched a Shadow Ball at Akane.

Flashback Starts
Akane was learning Food Honor from me. She had just tried to get her posture right.
Me: (holding the egg) What if there was a move that involves curving the person’s hands like a drill? If there was such a move, if it makes contact with the opponent, it could cause major damage and send the opponent flying with a spin. Can you imagine that?
Akane: (focusing) I think I can.
Me: Not only that,but it could also absorb the element of the attack that the opponent sends at them,and add it to the person’s fists, creating a new technique! (gets an idea) I’ve got it, I’ll train you to do that technique!

Flashback Ends
Once the Shadow Ball was close to her, she readied her punch. Then, she thrust her fist at the Shadow Ball. The Shadow Ball then split in half. Both halves went past without touching her. Once the halves were at a distance from her, it exploded. Everyone (except me) was surprised.
Ash: (flabbergasted) Akane…
Akane’s fist changed from white to black and purple. Not only that, but there was also purple static being emitted from her fist. Akane was only a few feet away from Golett.
Luke: Mega Punch!
Golett threw a punch at Akane, but then she dodged it by shifting her body to the left. She then landed on the ground on her feet, safely and underneath Golett. She then jumped towards Golett.

Flashback Starts
Me: We’ll name this technique after the Tetsusaiga’s move, “The Backlash Wave”. So this should be the “Backlash Fist”!

Flashback Ends
Akane: Have a taste!
Akane slammed her fist into Golett’s stomach, hard. After a few seconds, Golett was sent flying high into the air by the power of Akane’s attack. Golett then fell back then and crashed onto the ground.
When the dust cleared, Golett was unconscious.
Referee: (shouts) Golett is unable to battle, the winner is Ash Ketchum!
Ash: (talking to Akane) (cheers) Alright Akane!
Saria: (talking to Akane) What was that, Akane?
Akane: It was thanks to the training I had with Jing, mother.
Akane finished her match with a bow to Luke and Golett, and then to Ash.

Few Minutes Later
It was me vs. Misty. I had manipulated the matchups on the screen so I could face off against Misty.

In the Stands
Akane: (holding Mei in her arms) (cheers for me) Do your best, Jing! (serious) Don’t lose to someone like her or else!
Mei was watching the battle.
Mei: Mein…Mein…

Back to the Battle
Me: (talking to Misty) Ladies first. (thinking) Stupid tomboy.
Misty: Why thank you. Corsola, go! (throws Poké Ball)
Corsola: (appears) It’s time to battle!
Me: Meganium, come on out! (throws Poké Ball)
Meganium: (appears) I’m ready, Jing!
Misty: (talking to Corsola) Corsola, Spike Cannon!
Me: (talking to Meganium) Leaf Storm!
Corsola fired multiple white spikes at Meganium. A glowing green sphere formed in front of Meganium’s mouth, and then it fired countless glowing green leaves at Corsola. The leaves took the needles head on. Some of the leaves continued on and made contact with Corsola, causing it to take a lot of damage.
Misty: Corsola, Recover!
Me: Meganium, it’s time for one of your special moves. (charges up)
Meganium: Right! (charges up as well)
Me: Special Move…
Me and Meganium: (at the same time) Leaf Cyclone!
The petals around her neck glowed green and spun around her neck. Then,a whole ton of leaves were sent out of her petals, spinning fast in a circle like a tornado. Corsola was up after healing itself with Recover.
Misty: (commands) Corsola, Mirror Coat!
Corsola: You got it, Misty! (uses Mirror Coat)
Me: (smirks) Nice try, but that won’t work!
The barrage of spinning leaves went towards Misty’s Corsola. Like I told her, it didn’t work as the cyclone lifted Corsola into the air while it was trapped in the cyclone.
Misty: (worried) Corsola, try and get out!
Me: It won’t get out because of the millions and millions of leaves being emitted from Meganium’s petals. Even if a lot of the leaves were hit, they’ll just be replaced by the number of leaves that were lost!
Corsola was still taking damage as the onslaught continued without stopping.
Me: Meganium, Solar Beam!
Meganium: (nods) Time for the finishing blow!
A ball of light appeared in Meganium’s mouth. After a few seconds of charging up, the blast was fired at Corsola. There was an explosion. Corsola was sent flying and crashing into the ground. Once the dust cleared, Misty’s Corsola was unconscious.
Referee: Corsola can’t continue, the winner is Jing and Meganium!
Me: And that’s that. (talking to Meganium) Good job, Meganium.
Meganium: (happy) Yay, I did great! (charges towards me)
I extend my arms in front of me and caught Meganium. Meganium rubbed her head up against me.

In the Stands
Shinobu: (impressed) Looks like Jing’s Meganium is much stronger than it was before.
Angie: (wondering) Since when did Jing had a Meganium?
Gash: (talking to Angie) If I remember correctly, it was during when we were traveling in the Johto Region. (explains) He had chosen Meganium as his Starter Pokémon. She evolved into a Bayleef. And during when he was battling against an opponent, she evolved into a Meganium.
Zoey: (talking to Gash) What about that move he called out. You know, Leaf Cyclone I believe.
Koyuki: (talking to Zoey) I asked him that myself. He created that move after he had received intense training from someone a long time ago.
Me: (appears) Thanks for the compliments. (walks over to Akane) (takes Mei out of Akane’s arms) (talking to Mei) Did you like it when daddy won, huh?
Mei: Mein Meinfoo.
Me: (smiles) I don’t know what you said, but thanks.

Few Minutes Later
Drew: (smirks) (talking to May) I hope you remember how to do this.
May: Oh please, Dawn's a coordinator like us and Anabel is a Frontier brain. I've gotten enough practice in.
Drew: Roserade, you're up! (throws Poké Ball)
May: (throws Poké Ball) Blaziken, take the stage!
Both Drew’s Roserade and May’s Blaziken appeared.

In the Stands
Harley: (sighs) She doesn't stand a chance. Poor little May hasn't been able to beat Drew's Roserade ever.
Dawn: (shouts at May) C'mon May!
Zoey: (quiet tone) Guess the sisters are cheering for each other as long as they're not battling each other.
Drew: (talking to Roserade) Stun Spore, cover the field!
May: (talking to Blaziken) Flame Thrower!
The Stun Spore was all burned up by the fire attack. Drew glared hard at May who grinned back at him.
Drew: (thinking) (wondering) Why isn't she trying to press her elemental advantage like she did the last several times she's faced me?
May: (thinking) Not this time. I'm not going to be overly aggressive just because I've got the type advantage.
Drew: Magical Leaf.
May: Dodge!
Blaziken avoided the move but then stood like a statue,which threw Drew off, who had been expecting a follow up attack.
May: (talking to Drew) (taunts) What's the matter Drew, why aren't' you calling out an attack?
Drew: (frustrated) (talking to Roserade) (commands) Grrr...Solar Beam!
Harley: (disappointed) (shakes his head) Drew,Drew,Drew, she's gotcha.
May: (watching Roserade) Wait for it...wait for it...(commands) Now,charge at Roserade,slide on the ground under the attack,and use Blaze Kick full power!
Drew's eyes widened in horror,as Blziken did what May said and used Blaze Kick, which hit Roserade hard right before it could fire its Solar Beam. However, while Roserade was tumbling across the ground, it fired its Solar Beam, destroying the ground but missing the Blaziken.

In the Stands
Dawn: (cheers) Alright May!
Ash: (soft tone) Heh, that's my Beautifly.

Back to the Battle
May: (coy tone) (talking to Drew) Giving up?
Drew: (commands) Stun Spore!

In the Stands
Harley: (sighs) Yep, this one belongs to May.
Zoey: (understands) He let her tactic of countering his Roserade's moves get to him,but that wouldn't win a contest battle, but it sure wins this tournament battle.

Back To the Battle
May: (talking to Blaziken) Ok,Blaziken,I think we've let this go on long enough, finish it off with Overheat!
Drew: (begs) Roserade, you've got to dodge!
Roserade tried to get away from the attack, but it couldn’t and was hit. Roserade then fell to the ground unconscious.
Referee: Roserade can't continue, the winner is May and Blaziken!

Few Minutes Later
It was Anabel vs. Spike. Anabel was using her Espeon while Spike was using Joltik.
Anabel: (thinking) If I win,I'll be facing Jing in the second round, but I can't let myself overlook my opponent.
Spike: Joltik, get out there! (throws Poké Ball)
Anabel: (shouts) Come on out, my friend! (throws Poké Ball)
Both Espeon and Joltik appeared on the field.
Spike: (quick) (talking to Joltik) Sucker Punch!
Espeon was sent flying a bit by Joltik’s Sucker Punch.
Anabel: (telepathy) Iron Tail.
Espeon’s Iron Tail hit. Spike looked baffled for a moment.
Spike: (thinking) She didn't call out her move! How'd she...(realizes) she's psychic! (stops thinking) (talking to Joltik) Ok,let's not play around, use Electro Ball.

In the Stands
Ash: (chuckles) Hehehe,if that trainer thinks that will work, then he's got another thing coming.
Zoey: (confused) (talking to Ash) What do you mean?
Ash: (confident tone) (explains) Pikachu and Espeon have been sparring partners and tag battle partners since I went to Sinnoh. Ana knows what to do.
Shinobu: (agrees) (talking to Zoey) Yeah, you should’ve seen them training.

Back to the Battle
Anabel: Jump and come down with Iron Tail.
Espeon leapt, letting the Electro Ball fly under and came down hard with an Iron Tail.
Spike: Sucker Punch!
Once again, Espeon was sent flying a bit off its feet.
Anabel: Stay strong my friend.

In the Stands
Misty: (growls) She better not lose this battle.

Back to the Battle
Spike: Fury Cutter.
Anabel: Dodge, and then Psy Cannon.

In the Stands
Zoey: (confused) What in the world?
Espeon dodged Joltik’s Fury Cutter and fired a Zap Cannon at Joltik. It then compressed Zap Cannon into a small ball of purple energy.
Spike: (worried) Uh-oh,quickly, use Electro Ball!
Joltik fired an Electro Ball at Espeon’s Zap Cannon. The two spheres collided, but Espeon used Psychic to keep the two spheres from exploding and compressed them together to form a different colored ball of energy. It then threw it at a shocked Joltik,sending it to the ground, unconscious.
Referee: (announces) Joltik cannot continue, the winner is Anabel!
Misty: (talking to herself) Bah, it wouldn't be any fun to enter this tournament if she had lost her first match.

Meanwhile
Sol suddenly felt a surge of energy.
Sol: (surprised) Huh?!
Saria: (telepathy) (wondering) What is it Sol?
Sol: I don't know but I just got a really bad feeling hit me...
Saria: (guesses) Maybe it's what you had for lunch…
Sol: (denies) No,not that kind of feeling, but something like a battle of users is about to come forth…
Saria: (talking to Luna) What's your take on it Luna?
Luna: I didn't feel anyth-(senses)...wait…what is this surge of anger I feel...
Saria: (sensing) Yeah I'm starting to feel it too...(urges) Sol you and Luna need to get to Nimbasa Town, a.s.a.p.!
Sol: (talking to Saria) (argues) But Saria you're closer it will take us longer to get there...
Saria: (explains) But I am still unable to combat anything, I'm still recovering from Akane's birth...hell, I'm barely able to keep this link open if not for Light's help...
Sol: (shocked) What?! How so? Normally exhaustion from birth usually only lasts for a few days a week at most!
Saria: (explains again) Akane was my first child and I feel that during birth it was like she was sucking my aura completely dry, and for some reason I am finding it very hard to replenish it at the moment...
Sol: (deduces) So you...
Saria: Sol, I was somewhere between level A and S and now I'm down to almost the point of a normal human being!
Luna: Wait, Saria that is not good as normal humans have little to no exposure to aura than that of a Pokémon.
Saria: My point exactly...
Sol: (accepts) Alright Saria, I understand and will arrive in Nimbasa Town as soon as we can! Afterwards I will drop by the Pokémon center where you are residing and see what I can do to help.'
Saria: Much obliged, (warns) but Sol look over my daughter if this incident pertains to her or Ash.
Sol: It would be my honor, my lady. (talking to Luna) Luna,you're with me, we’re tracking that bastard again.(talking about Hayate)
Luna: Right behind you.

Meanwhile
Hayate: (watching) So it seems they’re going to the next round. (grins) I might as well make visit.
Thomas: (playing Chess) Do you want everyone to see that you broke out of prison? Besides, you’re still not strong enough. Why not test your own power on a faraway town by going on a rampage? You’ll need a new training field, and testing it on a town sounds like a good idea.
Hayate: (thinks about it)…(grins again) You know what, you’re right. Let’s get out of here and test it at Sandgem Town.
Midnight: (looking through the binoculars) It seems that Saria and Light sensed your anger and is coming our way.
Hayate: (evil grin) All a part of my plan. How about we go see them now?
Juliet: (takes out a Poké Ball) Gardevoir, teleport all of us to where Sol and Luna are. (throws Poké Ball)
Gardevoir: (appears) Of course, Juliet. (uses Teleport)
Thomas,Midnight,Juliet,Morning Star,Crayon,and Hayate were teleported away with Gardevoir.

Few Minutes Later
It was Dawn vs. Iris.
Dawn: (thinking) (surprised) Oh wow, I've never seen that look in her eyes before. She seems to be determined to beat me.
Iris: (thinking) (determined) I must earn my way into the sisterhood of aura. If that means beating every single sister I come across then so be it.

In the Stands
Ash: (awed) (quiet tone) Whoa, I've never seen her like this.
Georgia: (taunts) Ooooooo, guess the little kid dragon trainer thinks she can win this one.
Elena: (thinking) (smiling) That’s because she wants to be with Ash and join the sisterhood. Hehheh, at least this didn’t happen in my world.

Back to the Battle
Iris: (heard Georgia) (yells at Georgia) (argues) Oh I'll win,and then beat you,that is, if you can win your match! (talking to Axew) Axew, go!
Axew walked onto the battlefield.
Dawn: Piplup, spotlight! (throws Poké Ball)

In the Stands
Zoey: (comments) Well, at least she's still got that. (talking about Dawn)

Back to the Battle
Iris: (talking to Axew) Dragon Rage!
Dawn: (talking to Piplup) Dodge!

In the Stands
Zoey: Girl's pulling no punches (talking about Iris). Good, keep Dawn on her toes.
Gash: (talking to Zoey) (shushes) Quiet, we’re trying to watch the match.

Back to the Battle
Dawn: (thinking) So, she wants to play rough does she? (stops thinking) (talking to Piplup) Okay, Hydro Pump!

In the Stands
Kenny: (talking to Zoey) And Dee Dee isn't pulling any punches either.
Harley: (grins) Ah, two girls punching each other senseless.
Zoey punched Harley in the shoulder.

Back to the Battle
Iris: Dodge!
Axew dodged, but was still hit by the move causing him to spin.
Dawn: (thinking) An advantage, perfect! (stops thinking) Piplup, Whirlpool!
Piplup launched a whirlpool at Axew, which then caused him to get caught up in it.
Iris: (worried) (shouts) Axew! (thinking) (determined) No, I can't let this end like this. (stops thinking) C'mon Axew!
Suddenly, the whirlpool started vibrating and then it exploded. Axew was free and his eyes were glowing red while his body was outlined in a red aura as well.

In the Stands
Georgia: (flabbergasted) No way! That Axew of hers learned Outrage!

Back to the Battle
Iris: (shouts) Now!
Axew went towards Piplup and began to launch continuous punches and kicks at Piplup. After a while, Axew stopped attacking Piplup. Piplup fell to the ground, unconscious. The aura disappears, but Axew's eyes continue to glow red and he was moving around confused.
Referee: (announces) Piplup is unable to battle. Axew wins.

In the Stands
Zoey: (comments) Can't fault her for that one. Who knew Axew would learn Outrage at that instant?
Kenny: (proclaims) Hah, this is why Dee Dee should come with me.
Zoey: (thinking) Idiot.
Derpy: (thinking) Dumbass. (talking about Kenny)

Back with Dawn and Iris
Dawn: (knelt beside Piplup) Sorry, Piplup.
Iris: (picks up Axew) (talking to Dawn) It's ok, Piplup got knocked for a loop but will be fine. You almost had me though. If Piplup had an ice attack I'd be done for.
Dawn: (compliments) You've gotten better since Axew learned Dragon Rage.
Georgia: (smirks) (talking to Iris) Hey Iris, stick around and see how a true trainer wins," Georgia smirked.
Iris: (shouts) You are such a kid!

Few Minutes Later
It was Georgia vs. Trip.
Georgia: (talking to Trip) If you don't mind I have a dragon trainer to bust, so why don't you just get out of my way.
Trip: (thinks about it) Hmmmm. (decides) Let's go, Servine. (throws Poké Ball)
Georgia: Didn't you hear a word I said? Oh well, go Beartic. (throws Poké Ball)
Both Servine and Beartic appeared. Trip looked concern while Servine wasn't very thrilled about facing Beartic.
Georgia: (talking to Beartic) (commands) Beartic, end this right off the bat with Icicle Crash.
Trip: (talking to Servine) Leaf Blade!
Servine tried to cut through the icicles that were being thrown at him, but it was starting to be too much.
Georgia: Ice Beam!
Servine was then frozen solid in a block of ice by Beartic’s Ice Beam.
Georgia: (talking to Iris) That's your precious Axew, Iris.
Iris: (yells) We'll see about that in the second round!

Few Minutes Later
It was Angie vs. Cilan.
Cilan: (curious) (talking to himself) Well, let see if a Sinnoh trainer has just as a unique flavor as a Kanto trainer. Pansage, (throws Poké Ball) it’s evaluation time!
Angie: (thinking) He's a Gym Leader, perfect to test my skills against. Luxio, go! (throws Poké Ball)
Both Pansage and Luxio appeared.
Cilan: (talking to Pansage) Bullet Seed!
Angie: (talking to Luxio) Quick Attack to dodge!
Luxio's was able to avoid the attack. Cilan grinned.
Cilan: Bite.
Angie: Thunder Fang,
The two attacks struck, and both Pokémon were knocked to the ground. Both Pokémon stood up.
Angie: Crunch.
Cilan: (requests) Dodge and charge.
Pansage avoided the move and started charging up Solar Beam. Angie bit her lip.
Cilan: Okay Pansage, get in close and fire!
Angie: (warns) Don't let Pansage get close, Luxio!
Luxio used Quick Attack to escape,but it failed to keep up and the Solar Beam threw him to the ground, unconscious.
Referee: (announces) Luxio is unable to battle, Pansage is the winner.

Few Minutes Later
It was Burgundy vs. Stephan.
Burgundy: (throws Poké Ball) Dewott!
Stephan: (throws Poké Ball) Zebstrika!
Both Dewott and Zebstrika appeared.
Burgundy: (talking to Dewott) Water Pulse!
Dewott launched a Water Pulse at Zebstrika. It only did a little damage.
Stephan: (talking to Zebstrika) Zebstrika, use Shock Wave.
Zebstrika hit itself with its own attack.

In the Stands
Cilan: Oh dear, Zebstrika's confused," Cilan noted.

Back to the Battle
Burgundy: Ok, Fury Cutter and then Razor Shell!
Both of Dewott’s moves successfully caused damage against Zebstrika.
Stephan: (worried) Zebstrika, you've got to snap out of it and use Shock Wave!
Zebstrika tried to attack,but instead, it attacked itself, causing it to fall unconscious.
Referee: (announces) Zebstrika cannot continue...the winner is, Dewott! That concludes the first days first round matches.

Meanwhile
Both Luna and Sol were damaged and bruised. They had battled against Hayate and lost because of Hayate’s powers. Hayate and Team Alpha had left after Hayate had gotten tired of the battle.
Sol: (struggling) Dang it, who knew he was that strong? Especially now that he has joined a team.
