Chapter Five: Fathomless Forces, Terrible Truths, and Joyous Reunions: Final Part
Serena didn’t know how long she sat there in stunned silence and uncomprehending disbelief as she watched her best friend in all the world somehow survive a several thousand foot plummet towards the ground… without powers. During the most excruciating moments of her life Serena’s entire life had flashed before her eyes, when she thought that Ash was going to die despite the fact that she survived her battle with Omninoir, despite everything they both just went through.
It had been the worst experience of her entire life, watching her friend fall at terminal velocity towards the pavement; and for the first time she was ready to admit that she loved him. Somehow the thought of losing him had been enough to spur her true feelings to the forefront of her heart; now that she confirmed that he was alive and well even as her mother and even Arceus herself stared at the screen in shock, she only had one question on her mind. ‘Who in the hell is that girl beside him?’ Serena thought possessively.
Funny how quickly her priorities shifted even as she ignored the paparazzi trying in vain to get past their self appointed bodyguard Blaziken or the cameras zooming in on the very obviously shaken but still miraculously living entourage of Ash, Clemont, Bonnie, and the boy she didn’t know as well as another girl she didn’t know and who looked like she could’ve been Ash’s girlfriend or something given the way she was looking at him. Now Serena wasn’t vain but she also knew she was a very good looking girl; yet this stranger with auburn hair and amber eyes looking at her Ash like he was a piece of meat, Serena couldn’t help feeling threatened by her. She’d only just come to terms with her true feelings for Ash and now this stranger comes along?!
It just wasn’t fair, the girl was undeniably gorgeous and her choice of attire while somewhat distasteful in Serena’s opinion was definitely enough to rev pretty much any guy’s engine. She wanted to relish the fact that Ash was alright or lash out at him through the TV screen for scaring her so bloody badly; but she couldn’t even release her pent up emotional frustration yet because now she had to deal with the possibility that Ash was already with somebody. Serena briefly wondered how long they had been together, something about them seemed like they hadn’t been together very long or if they were then it was casual. Serena had always been extremely good at reading people, even before her god powers started kicking in; now though she was bordering on being able to read people psychically.
She also briefly wondered to herself why Ash and his friends weren’t dead yet; his Primal Palkia had been otherwise occupied with the possessed Dialga and the girl’s giant flying type Pokemon had been rendered all but powerless before whatever it was that saved them restored its full abilities. Serena felt like she should’ve known the giant four winged white behemoth from somewhere, yet before she could even spare it anymore thought the giant Arceus in the room answered her unasked question.
‘It’s the legendary Pokemon of destruction Yveltal in its primal state of being, or primal reversion as the humans call it. Same general idea as the supped up creation trio Serena, it is destructive omnipotence embodied though unlike Omninoir Primal Yveltal is not an Anti-God or omnimalevolent; although that depends on the universe too, I suppose. I’m still at a loss to explain how that girl was able to acquire one though, let alone a shiny one; something is off about this whole situation and I don’t trust her,’ Arceus telepathically broadcasted her thoughts to Serena as she nodded bitterly in agreement, due more to jealousy of this girl and Ash’s obviously close bond than righteous distrust of her intentions.
“Mom; is this going to delay my getting a Pokemon for a while? If it does that’s okay but I… I mean, I just really want to see him in person,” Serena admitted out loud, a full body blush gracing her as Grace smiled sadly at her. “You never stopped loving him did you?” Grace wondered, already knowing the answer as Serena nodded hesitantly. “Not even for a moment, though I’ve only just recently realized how important he still is to me even after all this time. I’ve tried to deny my true feelings for so many years but after today, after almost losing him well mom I… love him. I’m truly, deeply, madly in love with him. I can’t stand it. I love him so much it drives me insane. I think I’ve loved him from the moment I met him. I just didn’t understand what my feelings were at the time because I was so young,” Serena emotionally declared her undying love for the boy at long last, and Arceus did it ever feel magical saying it. Something inside of her just felt so whole and complete by saying it; she didn’t understand why or how but admitting it out loud for the first time, even if it was to her mother… took a huge weight of her shoulder, a weight she never even knew was there.
Grace nodded mutely before speaking in a voice so low Serena almost couldn’t hear her. “Then go to him, who cares if you haven’t gotten your Pokemon yet. Serena, as your mother I am telling you to run as fast as you can straight to Lumiose city. Don’t stop, don’t look back until you find him you understand me. And when you do find him, tell him exactly what you told me and don’t you dare come back here until you do, do I make myself clear?!
Don’t make the same mistake I did and take these feelings for granted like I did with your father. Life is precious, after what we’ve witnessed you and I both know that there is no guarantee in life that we’ll always be around. I still can’t believe Ash was able to do some of the stuff he did but obviously that giant dragon did something to him, draining whatever powers he had; or maybe the battle tired him out. I don’t know what to make of the situation but I do know that you love him and that love is the strongest force in the universe.
Now go get him Serena, and just know that you are always welcome to come back here if ever you should need me,” Grace promised and advised her as Serena nodded with tears in her eyes. She had never heard her mom get so passionate about anything in her entire life, not even Rhyhorn racing; for the first time she found herself wondering just how dearly her mother had loved her father, and if the reason she poured her heart into her work was because she was trying to forget the pain that Richard Yvonne’s disappearance caused her on a daily basis.
Taking one last look around the house, Serena got up to get ready and was surprised to find her mother sitting with a fully packed pink tote bag with all the essentials packed; including her daughter’s pajamas, an extra set of clothes, all of her necessary accessories including a fully stocked fashion kit with hair products, her travel guide, her wallet with her golden trainer card which she had held onto for years but never used and her Pokedollar bank card which her mother had set up for her in the form of her very own bank account.
“I figured I’d help pack the essentials as a send-off,” Grace admitted somewhat sheepishly as Serena realized she had completely forgotten to pack properly. Thanking her mother profusely, Serena took the bag from her mother and realized this was it. Ash was waiting for her in Lumiose and this was the closest she had been to him in a decade. She was terrified, ecstatic, nervous, elated, and a lot of other emotions all at once. Taking one last look around her home and trying to commit it to memory, Serena threw her arms around her mother in a quick hug as Arceus watched the fond exchange with a small smile and got ready to spring a little surprise on the girl the moment she was out the door.
“Bye mom,” Serena sniffed, her voice muffled as she cried into her mom’s shoulder, her tears of joy and happiness. “Bye Serena, just remember that it’s a dangerous world out there so be careful alright? I know I can’t stop you from doing what you need to do, but I’m still going to miss you terribly. Now go find that boy and tell him how much you care, and let him know in no uncertain terms that if he hurts you he’ll have me to answer to,” Grace declared in a surprisingly overprotective tone, acting more a mother to Serena than she had done in a long time as Serena nodded and giggled somewhat as she imagined her mother chasing after Ash with a baseball bat or some equally blunt object.
“I will I promise, I’ll phone you when I get there,” Serena promised as she ran straight for the door, not even slowing down as it opened before she got there and collided with someone rather solid, barreling them over. “Ouch, Jeez Serena I know you’re excited but do try to watch where you’re going,” she heard Calem say as she helped him stand up in the doorway. “Sorry Calem, I’m just in a real hurry right now to get to Lumiose city,” Serena informed him as another voice called out from behind Calem.
“Well then we better hurry up and get going then; I’m so excited about this I could scream. We’re finally going on our Pokemon journeys,” Shauna’s voice echoed loudly from somewhere in Serena’s front yard. “Wait, you guys don’t have to come with me, I’ve kind of got some personal stuff to take care of,” Serena admitted as Calem and Shauna both nodded. “We know, Ash Ketchum is in Lumiose city right now and we’re going to take you to him. Consider us your own personal escorts,” Shauna giggled lightheartedly as Calem sighed slightly and Serena giggled at her bubbly friend’s boisterous display as Rhyhorn popped his head out of his house to see what the commotion was all about.
Serena rolled her eyes, albeit in a good natured way; she really didn’t know what she did to deserve such incredible friends she just wished she could tell them about what happened in Vaniville town not even half an hour ago. Even her mother didn’t retain any memories of the incident, though Serena wondered if anybody in town was experiencing some form of déjà vu watching Ash heroically take on the god of all evil and negative energy and live to tell the tale. Her inner Goddess must’ve done one helluva good job with the memory wipe though, yet as Serena stepped outside to lovingly address her friends and Arceus floated invisibly by her side while phasing through the walls of her house; the world seemed to warp all around the three of them and Serena was taken by surprise when she and her friends were instantly teleported to Lumiose city before she could even form a sentence.
The world displaced all around the three of them as they appeared at the blown off doorway to what Serena realized was Sycamore’s lab, wondering how in the hell she had gotten here as she rounded on Arceus who was wearing a smirk and not looking anywhere near as transparent. Calem and Shauna didn’t even look like they realize what had happened at first, but they both caught on pretty fast as they turned in perfect harmony to stare at Serena in shock, only for their eyes to bulge out of their sockets as they gazed upon the equine being floating beside her, now fully visible to the three of them as Serena realized what had happened a little bit too late. “Ugh, Serena, please tell me I’m not crazy and that you can see that humongous Pokemon beside you,” Shauna gasped as Serena smiled sheepishly and sent a quick death glare at Arceus for surprising all of them in such a fashion.
“Shaunee, unless we’re both crazy I think we’re owed some pretty interesting explanations, especially since I know what Pokemon it is. You’re Arceus aren’t you; I’ve seen pictures depicting you in the Pokemon books I’ve read. Oh man I can’t believe this is happening,” Calem exclaimed like an overzealous fanboy geeking out as Arceus nodded and Serena’s eyes widened a fraction of an inch. ‘Greetings Shauna and Calem, yes I am Arceus, and don’t worry it was I who teleported the three of you here so I can promise you both I’m not hostile. Serena here already knew of my presence here for some time now. Also to dispel any further concerns you might have you three are the only ones who can see me or perceive me in any way, shape, or form.
I’m sorry if I scared you all but I wanted to surprise you by bringing you three here and making it that much easier for Serena to catch up to Ash. First things first though, you three should probably pick up your Pokemon from Sycamore while you have the chance, who knows I might even give you guys a glowing recommendation to the esteemed professor assuming he doesn’t have a heart attack when I reveal myself to him to,’ Arceus informed them of her hastily made plan as Serena face palmed with a groaning sigh and Calem and Shauna both nodded mutely, too in shock to say anything at this point.
“I’m sorry I didn’t tell you two about my dear little friend here but I was under the impression Lady Arceus was to be kept strictly secret,” Serena hissed somewhat irately, sending a withering glare at the Alpha Pokemon in question as Calem recovered first, still looking beyond excited but surprisingly in control of himself. “What I don’t get was how you were permitted to glimpse Arceus,” he observed astutely as Serena pondered a way to try and explain that, but Arceus beat her to it. ‘It is better if the two of you don’t know the details behind this, the more people who know the greater the risk to those involved in these exceedingly dangerous situations involving the Anti-God Pokemon. That’s the entity that wreaked havoc here, the one Ash Ketchum fought and beat, and one who attacked your town as well,’ Arceus vaguely disclosed to them as Serena clenched her fists from the memories.
“But wait if he attacked our town how come we don’t remember it?” Shauna asked the very question Serena was hesitant to answer. Deciding she should just come out and be as honest as she could with them, Serena answered before Arceus could. “Look you guys, long story short the Anti-God Pokemon attacked and destroyed our town and everyone in it. I won’t go into details but the town and the lives lost in it were restored but in order to maintain the sense of peace amongst the townsfolk a memory wipe of the whole event was orchestrated and everyone forgot about it including you two. I remembered because I was in the eye of the storm so to speak, and I was the one that… monster was after,” Serena fought to control her urge to break down in front of them, the memory of what happened haunting her almost as badly as watching Ash nearly fall to his death. There had been way too many close calls today regarding Omninoir and Serena couldn’t shake the feeling that the worst was yet to come.
“But why, I mean not to sound rude but why you?” Calem stated inquiringly. “A valid question Calem, I’ve been asking it myself since I woke up this morning because that’s when everything started feeling different. I wish I could say more but trust me, you guys are better off not remembering that shit show,” Serena promised them in a rather cryptic undertone as both Shauna and Calem reluctantly agreed. “We trust you Serena, we always have and if you’re that traumatized by whatever happened to us then we’ll leave it alone for now. I just hope you’ll be able to come to terms with what happened someday and be able to tell us in full, but for now let’s not dwell on the negative. I mean hell you guys we’re here to get our first Pokemon and that’s a huge milestone, not to mention we got to meet Arceus, how many people get to say they did all that in one day?! I for one am shaking with excitement; so no more talk of this for now alright,” Calem declared with exuberant passion, and just like that the conversation was ended as Arceus remained selectively incognito and the three friends walked inside the ruined halls of Sycamore’s lab.
‘So much destruction, so much pain, suffering, and loss, who knows what else Omninoir is capable of,’ Serena thought despairingly as Arceus nodded inaudibly in accord, evidently following her train of thoughts as Serena’s voice rang out to Professor Sycamore. “Hello Professor, are you here?” she called out, momentarily concerned that he may have gotten hurt before she heard him respond and felt relief flood her heart when he appeared at the top of the staircase unharmed.
“Oh my goodness, what on earth are you three doing here? Now is really not the best time, I’ve got to get to Ash quickly. He needs to know about Lexie, she’s not who she says she is,” Sycamore rambled frantically, leaving Serena and her friends to wonder what he meant as he bounded down the stairs rather in a hurry, his assistant Sophie at his heels as she too appeared extremely shaken by the startling events that took place here.
Taking the initiative as Shauna and Calem both looked alarmed at the Professor’s current state; Serena spoke up loud and clear to get the professor’s undivided attention. “Um Professor, I know now’s probably not the best time but I was wondering if you still had some Pokemon left for us to choose from. If not we can wait and I’ll completely understand if you need a moment to sort yourself out; nobody would blame you for being out of sorts after what just happened here. I just saw the news and what happened, is Garchomp okay,” Serena whispered concernedly, not wanting to dwell on what the professor said about Lexie as Sycamore inhaled deeply.
“Yes she is, Ash teleported her back to my lab at some point during the battle. We checked her over and she appears to be healthy, though she is distraught by what she was forced to do. I haven’t seen the news yet but I’m heading out right now to tell Ash the truth; that his new lady friend is not a friend to us at all. You three are very welcome to come with me just so long as you stay close and don’t wander off. Once we get that deceitful girl behind bars for what she did and get everything sorted out I’ll be happy to give you guys your Pokemon.
I’ve already had a hexa perfect Protean Froakie set aside for Calem, and of course Shauna gets a competitively perfect Chespin with Bullet Proof, and you Serena; I assume you still want that special Fennekin. She has absolutely refused to leave with any of the trainers we’ve offered her to so ultimately we’ve stopped trying, and as I’m sure you remember she has the ability Magician and is likewise competitively flawless; I’m sure she’d be happy to see you once we get back but for right now I need to make sure Ash and the others are okay. That remarkable young man fought against this Omninoir tooth and nail in order to free my beloved Pokemon so I need to make sure he’s alright and that I can properly thank him,” Sycamore said in a lengthy monologue. Serena and the others nodded just as Arceus decided to hold off on materializing before the obviously rattled professor. She could sense he was close to the breaking point and besides that she was kind of excited by the prospect of seeing Ash again. Serena furrowed her eyebrows, realizing that this Lexie was the girl she had seen on television with Ash and wondering who she was not for the first time as her mind whirled and spun with out of control thoughts and emotions.
“We were just heading off to find Ash ourselves professor so this is perfect timing all around,” Calem spoke up as Shauna smiled in agreement and Serena’s heart beat a mile a minute and warmth pervaded her entire being as Sycamore clapped jovially once or twice and ushered them out the door. Serena could feel Vivillon fluttering in her stomach in a never-ending eternal dance, and she felt both nervous and giddy at the same time. She didn’t care what stood in her way or who, because one way or another she’d find Ash and then… she’d make him hers.
She finally was ready to embrace the idea of loving the most amazing person she’d ever known, and she’d be damned if she let anyone stand in her way at this point, especially if her competition was not a friend of theirs like Sycamore seemed to be so certain of. She didn’t know what happened or what the Professor had seen to make him believe that this Lexie was some kind of traitor or double-crosser, but she didn’t let that stop her from feeling ecstatic about the prospect of seeing her best friend again. Trekking across the ruins of Lumiose city towards Centrico Plaza, Serena sensed that whatever happened later today when she found him would somehow make all the hell she and Ash had gone through respectively totally worth it.
XXXXX
If this past year of infinite power had taught Ash anything it’s that anything could and probably does exist… but this was beyond anything he could’ve ever anticipated. Being rendered powerless before falling to his untimely death would’ve been bad enough, but now he was at a loss to explain how they were all still alive. Not knowing something was one of Ash Ketchum 1 Million’s biggest pet peeves, and right now he was completely clueless on what exactly was going on.
Whoever or whatever saved them had restored Lexie’s Yveltal’s godhood and even chased away whatever being managed to possess his Dialga in his primal form, yet also failed to restore Ash’s own abilities as well. Maybe they knew he had Arceus on his team and that they didn’t need to reconnect him with the Omnipotence Nexus, or maybe they were trying to send him a hidden message saying he didn’t deserve his powers if he almost let his friends die in his moment of carelessness; in which case he would have words for the bastard because he did the best he could, there was nothing more he could’ve done in his opinion so he wasn’t going to waste time punishing himself or allowing anyone else to. Whatever their reasons for failing to see to the restoration of his powers, he decided to hold off on asking Arceus to reendow him with his abilities; because frankly he had almost forgotten what it felt like to ache or to feel proper hunger, to be perfectly human and normal. In all honesty he had kind of missed it, and maybe this was some golden opportunity for him to rediscover life on the other side of omnipotence; to have clear, genuine limits once more to what he could do with his power alone, to rely on his Pokemon for everything supernatural or beyond the human ability to achieve.
He was relieved to know that his knowledge base had remained untouched and that his intelligence wasn’t nullified, but those were about the only beyond human traits he retained at the moment and he was powerless to update his knowledge base again through any means; except for the human means of research and countless hours of study of course. Several things still didn’t add up about Omninoir’s omnicidal glitches or the thing that had somehow managed to possess his Primal Dialga so easily, but above all that Ash was just glad that everyone was okay. So for the time being he held off on investigating these matters and tuned into everything going on around him once again; already realizing how different everything felt when his perceptive abilities and his senses weren’t enhanced to an Omega Omnisphere encompassing scale.
Primal Dialga and Palkia both emerged from the wreckage of Prism tower completely unharmed and Dialga looked like he didn’t have a clue about what happened. Ash was relieved beyond measure that whatever had possessed his Totality manipulating entity was now gone for the moment, but still it was extremely worrisome. Whoever or whatever had rendered Ash powerless was obviously masterfully skillful at using any and all applications of their omnipotent abilities; using the momentary distraction Dialga’s attack on Palkia’s infinity dome caused Ash to quickly dismantle every single one of his abilities faster than he thought possible. Whoever it was also wasn’t afraid to tap into and utilize their full powers even at the risk of invoking the omnipotence paradox, which was extremely troubling to the Pallet Town champion because even Omninoir was not bold or daring enough to do that. Whoever orchestrated this was extremely confident in their abilities and had mastered every application of their omnipotence to an art form.
Quickly assessing the situation at hand and redirecting his focus from his two primal creation trio members, Ash took in the scared but determined faces of his friends. His eyes wandered from Clemont to Bonnie, feeling pride for them course through him as his gaze shifted over to his lifelong friend and partner Brock, who nodded and grinned proudly at him in turn. Finally his eyes rested on Lexie’s beautiful face, her golden-amber eyes mirroring his own look of lust and attraction, her smile sad yet full of pride; pride that he realized was all for him. Suddenly Ash felt like he was the most fortunate man on this earth, he couldn’t have asked for better friends than these people right here; and there was only one thing that could’ve made the ending of this hectic day even better.
Despite everything, despite how close he’d grown to Lexie in such a short amount of time, despite how wonderfully fantastic his other friends were and how handy they were in a crisis; Ash still missed Serena terribly and wished she could be here with him. Like he always did, he just never felt whole or complete without her around; but hopefully she had been able to see everything he and his fantastic Kalos entourage accomplished on the television back in her hometown. She may not have been part of the action here but she was always with Ash in spirit. Every damn day he’d been on his journey he had kept her memory alive, dedicating his every major battle to her; now though he was closer to her than he had been in years and something about it still unnerved him a little.
He was drawn out of his thoughtful musing by the voices of the paparazzi as Blaziken continued to shield them and Ash sighed while massaging his temples. “Whew, it’s been awhile since I’ve had a tension headache,” Ash muttered under his breath, though amazingly enough Lexie still heard him as she smirked at him out of the corner of her mouth. “Welcome to the life of a human being,” she murmured at him teasingly, before she resumed her sad smile and Ash continued to ponder the enigma of Alexandra Mei. She was clearly feeling down and depressed about something, and had seemed pretty adamant about telling him something before shit hit the fan. He wondered what she could’ve been hiding from him that was so bad, what could a sweet girl like her had done that was so horrible that she trembled at the thought of divulging it to him? As he continued pondering what she could’ve been holding back, a horrible thought suddenly entered his mind causing him to visibly bolt with shock, drawing the eyes of all his friends as they all wondered what was wrong with him.
“Ash, you okay,” Bonnie asked him concernedly, but Ash only barely heard her as he appeared lost in his own little world. “Ugh what, yeah I’m fine Bonnie,” Ash whispered in a faraway voice, peering at Lexie in some form of dark speculation. Bonnie could sense there was some serious tension between them as Ash scrutinized her and Lexie avoided his gaze like the plague, and opted not to press the issue as a voice broke out among the crowd of media hounds that she recognized immediately.
“Well young man, I daresay you and your friends have just saved this entire city and maybe a whole lot of other lives. If I could get a comment from you I’d really appreciate it,” Alexa smiled knowingly, winking at them as Ash’s focus was dragged from Lexie and he smiled sadly at the pretty reporter. “Well all I can say is that I wasn’t alone in my endeavor to save the city. I had my Pokemon with me and of course I had my friends as well, despite my deep reservations about having them here in the line of fire I couldn’t keep them away even if I tried it seems,” Ash admitted with a charming smile as Alexa nodded professionally, her hand on a recording device that was held out clear in the open so that they all could see it.
Unlike some other members of the press Alexa wasn’t shady and didn’t resort to underhanded tactics like interviewing people without their knowing or twisting his words to create unnecessary drama and spread hatred among people everywhere. As she prepared to walk around the ever diligent Blaziken and Ash decided to let her through since he had put this off long enough, a bunch of the other reporters on the scene fired off a rapid bombardment of inquiries. “Please tell us how you were able to fight alongside your Pokemon like you did?” “Are you an Aura Guardian or a Psychic or something else?” “How did you acquire such mythical and legendary Pokemon?” “Why weren’t you able to stop yourself and your friends from falling?” “Care to explain how you all survived a fall when you yourself had been rendered powerless to do so?” The questions went on and on from a myriad of different reporters while a massive crowd of spectators observed the madness from afar, the entirety of Centrico Plaza now blocked off by Police cars while the media went insane trying to inform the public on what happened.
Ash didn’t comment on any of their questions and instead focused on Alexa as she looked hopefully at him. “So um Alexa, any chance we can we pick this up later where there are fewer unsolicited members of the press to cramp our style. I’ll be happy to give you the details when I’ve had time to absorb everything that’s happened and in more accommodating settings, but for right now I need to rest,” Ash admitted somewhat guiltily, eternally grateful when Alexa nodded understandingly. “Of course Ash, but I’m expecting an exclusive from you in return, the instant you feel you are ready alright,” she insisted and Ash nodded with a smile.
“That’s fair, the public have a right to know what exactly happened, and I promise that I will do my absolute best to inform the people of Kalos and of the world of what happened to the best of my ability,” Ash announced loudly, directing his comment at all of the news people including Alexa and letting them know in no uncertain terms that this interview was over. As some of the press persisted, Alexa took the initiative, “alright you guys move out and give the poor man and his friends some space,” she commanded authoritatively, her reputation as a reporter ever revered throughout the city as they all reluctantly complied and moved away from Ash and co just as none other than Officer Jenny walked over to them instead.
“Am I speaking to Ash Ketchum,” she asked once she reached them as Ash nodded and stood up straighter as Brock somehow managed to refrain from flirting with her. The blue haired cop peered speculatively at the young man standing beaded in sweat and appearing worse for wear tiredly stood to his feet as though resigned to his fate. “Yes you are Officer Jenny, I’m Ash Ketchum,” Ash admitted as the no nonsense, professional blue haired officer jotted his name down in her notebook and cut straight to the chase.
“I’d imagine you must be pretty exhausted after fighting a battle of that magnitude against… whatever that thing was. I’m here to discuss some things with you young man. You see while that dome you and your… mythical Pokemon conjured in the sky managed to contain most of the damage, the fact remains that the city is in ruins. How do you plan on addressing the very understandable concerns the people of this city have,” Jenny questioned him with what almost appeared to be concern. Even without his powers Ash could sense that Jenny was worried about him being in over his head and that she honestly felt like he had done nothing but try to save the city.
“I did everything in my power to try to minimize collateral damage and casualties, but the fact is Sycamore’s Garchomp was possessed by none other than the Omega Pokemon. It’s basically the malevolent counterpart to Arceus himself, I wouldn’t expect most people to understand everything that happened today but I would be more than happy to help with the cleanup and repairs… in fact I,” Ash paused, having a brilliant brainwave as he looked behind them over to Primal Dialga and Palkia standing just outside of Prism tower and looking remorseful for their devastating actions. Giving them the slightest of encouraging nods, Ash gave them the go ahead to repair the damages right away as Dialga and Palkia both became engulfed in a blinding multicolored light and the entire city warped all around them.
In a matter of seconds the damage to Prism tower and all of Lumiose city was happening in reverse, countless pieces of glass flew upwards towards Prism tower and the nearest buildings affected; merging together into full windows once more as they flew back into their respective frames good as new. Streets and cars that were ripped apart and overturned were topsy-turvied as the massive swaths in the roads snapped back together and were filled in and the totaled cars were returned to their original spots free of any and all damages sustained.
Officer Jenny and everyone else in the vicinity stared around them in shock and awe as Dialga and Palkia did their thing; hell even Ash was impressed by their display as he felt the very fabric of the Omega Omnisphere itself convulse and tighten all around them in response to the godlike entities he now possessed. As the whole of Lumiose city was fully restored and people recovered from their shock there was a massive round of applause and praise as the people of Lumiose city cheered for Ash and his beyond incredible Pokemon. Jenny blinked a couple of times as she examined her surroundings like she couldn’t quite believe what she was seeing, but then she recovered.
“Well I daresay you made quick work of that young man, well done mister Ketchum. There is one more thing I wish to ask of you, that Omega Pokemon; does it constitute a threat to this planet,” Jenny questioned him as Ash nodded sadly. “Yes unfortunately he does, but rest assured I will do everything in my power to stop him, hell it’s practically part of my job description to deal with threats of this infinite magnitude,” Ash promised her as Dialga and Palkia both roared in agreement, declaring their loyalty to their trainer and their continued involvement in his war against Omninoir. With that out of the way Jenny nodded and cracked her first smile, “Very well I think I got what I needed; just know that if you need anything, anything at all. The people of this city are forever in your debt Ash Ketchum. You may be the only person on this earth with the power to stand up to that thing, which means that whether or not people end up thinking you’re dangerous, this world needs you. Enjoy your day young man,” and with that, Jenny walked away leaving them to themselves as the crowd continued applauding them in the distance.
Walking over to Blaziken who continued to stand protectively in front of them, Ash couldn’t help but smile as the fire type starter locked eyes with him. “Thank you very much for helping us Blaziken, so listen; did you happen to see anything while you were attempting to save us because while I don’t doubt your ability to keep us from falling to our deaths I doubt you could’ve restored Lexie’s Yveltal’s godhood am I right,” Ash asked as said legendary flying type continued to circle the top of Prism tower above them. Blaziken nodded and proceeded to explain what happened from his point of view as Ash realized with frustration that he could no longer understand Pokespeech.
“Hey Arceus, translation if you please,” Ash said aloud as everybody but Brock and Lexie stared at him in shock and Dialga and Palkia returned themselves to their master balls of their own accord without another word or action between them. Arceus’s omnipathic voice sounded in all of their heads, causing everybody who wasn’t accustomed to telepathy to whip their heads around in response to the deep, rich, baritone voice resounding in their minds. ‘Um Ash, you’re not going to believe this and frankly I’m still having trouble believing it myself, but Blaziken says he saw somebody with honey colored hair and cerulean eyes save you guys and then chase after whatever possessed Dialga, sound familiar?’ the Alpha Pokemon stated in obvious incredulity as Ash blanched and everyone else wondered what was so significant about those details.
“But that’s impossible Serena was in Vaniville town when we fell. You said her powers wouldn’t fully self manifest except when her life was in danger,” Ash pointed out logically, wondering if Serena had somehow been able to enter her omnipotent god mode due to sheer desperation to change his misfortune and those of his friends. Before he could think further on the matter Arceus squashed this notion almost right away. ‘There’s more, Blaziken said something about her was different from the Yvonne girl. Ash… he said her infinity symbol was infused with countless different colors instead of gold like yours, which means she bears the insignia of…’ Arceus paused; unable to comprehend the sheer enormity of what was happening as Ash finished his sentence aloud, no longer caring if Clemont or the others heard everything they were discussing.
“Ash Ketchum Infinity, but I thought he was just a myth,” he whispered in pure, unbridled astonishment. His eyes were as wide as saucers yet there was no time to ponder this startling news any further because someone new hit the scene and Ash saw professor Sycamore glaring daggers at Lexie as he pointed accusingly at her and displayed a level of anger that shocked them all. “Ash, Clemont, Bonnie, Brock, move away from that girl at once; she’s the reason all of this started, she’s the top admin of the new Team Flare.”
XXXXX
After having lived for a literally infinite amount of time and learning under the greatest Pokemon Master the Omega Omnisphere has ever known, Serena 9 by Infinity thought she had seen it all. She had watched her mentor and the man she loved go off to confront his greatest and most unstoppable adversary in their fiercest battle ever; she could remember being worried sick as he ran off to do something long considered to be impossible even by the omnipotent standards of the Omega Omnisphere Pokemon Champions.
It had gone against every fundamental law of the Supreme Reality, which was the one set of rules thought to be unbreakable no matter how much power one had. Yet somehow Ash Ketchum Infinity had done it, not only had he managed to orchestrate a massive rewrite of totality itself, he had also been able to purge Omninoir Infinity’s existence from the Omega Omnisphere. Somehow he and Serena both survived the rewrite, and hopefully their strongest allies and closest friends did to. Now she was a ghost, completely foreign to anything and everything in this Omega Omnisphere and Ash Ketchum Infinity had gotten his long awaited retirement at last; or so everybody thought.
Some members of the ON retained traces of the other Omega Omnisphere, and it appeared that the Omninoir 1 Million of the new Ultra-Verse was one of those select few and had managed to bring about the return of his infinity counterpart from the old Omega Omnisphere. Since there was no counterpart to Omninoir Infinity in the new totality as Serena started dubbing it recently; the new Omninoir 1 Million had collided with the new Serena 1 Million in an epic clash of the titans and created that all-powerful singularity.
Serena 9 by Infinity huffed in mild irritation, running a hand along the back of her neck and squeezing gently like Ash Infinity tended to do when embarrassed, nervous, or emotionally taut. She spoke aloud for the first time in a voice like and yet not like Serena 1 Million’s. “So the Omninoir 1 Million of the new totality was able to smash a hole in the infinite reality itself, rupturing the Omega Omnisphere barrier in the process. Is that even a thing, the Omega Omnisphere Barrier,” she murmured uncertainly, amazed by the simple fundamental truth of life she was just now starting to understand. Even with all she had seen and done, despite seeing the birth of the Omega Omnisphere and traveling infinite ages into its future along with seeing countless events in between; she was still learning.
In a weird way she was almost grateful that she still could, because the day she truly knew everything was the day she might as well stop traveling. But alas the rules just kept on changing, everything changed including the Omega Omnisphere and its laws themselves. Serena 9 by Infinity came to the inevitable conclusion that the only constant in the omni-reality construct was change, which meant that if she endured the occasional feelings of meaninglessness in her own life; she’d always find new ways to enrich the quality of her omnipotent existence. Knowing that everything changed and sometimes so drastically clearly meant that even if one lived forever then they’d never run out of things to do. She felt like Ash may have missed that somewhere, but it wasn’t her place or her right to tell him how to live his life and after everything he’d done and everything he’d been through; he didn’t owe the Omega Omnisphere sweet piss all anymore. Hell he never did as far as she was concerned, but the fact remained that she needed his guidance still. Damn what the Omega Omnisphere wanted from him; she needed Ash Ketchum In-fucking-finity herself.
As though sensing her pondering thought process, Arceus 9 by Infinity spoke up, his omnipathic voice resounding pervasively through her infinite mindscape. ‘There are legends surrounding the rarest of all pantheons, known as the Zenith Omnidonae Serena. Rumors say that they’re able to rupture the Omega Omnisphere barrier as you call it and break the bonds of infinity itself; perhaps one of them is responsible for Ash Ketchum Infinity’s rewrite of totality. Maybe Serena McIntyre helped him along; it was her who taught him to believe not only in the Zenith Omnidonae but also introduced the idea to him that totality could be rewritten to not include Omninoir Infinity in its continuity,’ Arceus suggested somewhat hopefully as Serena sighed. ‘Yes but if McIntyre were the one behind this she wouldn’t have allowed Omninoir Infinity to survive as well. I’ve been down that particular avenue of thought before Arceus; it took me a long time to trust that girl and even now I still don’t like how close she and Ash tended to be.
Not that I have to worry about that anymore because he’s fallen in love with my doppelganger from the new Omega Omnisphere and now I’m alone trying to lead Totality’s Champions in his stead. I still can’t get what he said out of my mind, when we last spoke to one another back in the new 9 by 3 universe,’ Serena shuddered involuntarily; flashing back to when she had finally found the man she had looked up to for countless lifetimes. She remembered how horrified she had been when she found Ash Ketchum Infinity in his amnesiac state, but knew it was what he wanted so she knew she had to respect his decision to start his whole eternal life anew.
She knew that the Ash Infinity she loved was still in there somewhere though and she was right because after she left he came to find her; not that she couldn’t fall in love with him all over again in his new state of being but it was nice to know that not everything had been irrevocably changed. For only a few moments his almighty inner self came to find her, telling her that he was leaving the Omega Omnisphere championship mantle in her hands and that he had recently had a premonition. As much as he had once wanted to be the one for her Ash had held himself back, saying how there was someone else out there for her and that he would be a Zenith Omnidony but beyond that Ash didn’t know anything more.
Serena 9 by Infinity didn’t like to think that she wasn’t free to choose who she loved but after some of the visions she had she believed Ash Infinity’s words. Lately she’d been having a feeling of foreboding deeper than any she had experienced before, she felt like she was being haunted or watched by a ghost from a past she couldn’t remember. It was like being part of a sequel to a movie or a spin-off of a book series she had completely missed, or simply didn’t remember at all. She couldn’t place these feelings at all and thought she knew who she was before all of this insanity started; she was Serena 9 by Infinity the leader of the Omega Omnisphere Champions of Pokemon, successor to Ash Ketchum Infinity the greatest Pokemon Master in totality, and so many other things. Yet just recently she had started feeling like there was more to her than even she could’ve imagined, and she just couldn’t put her finger on why she felt this way or why she felt compelled to find this Zenith Omnidony soul mate of hers among other things. The very thought that there could be more to her infinite existence than her life as Serena 9 by Infinity was both a terrifying and thrilling thought.
“Arceus, let’s hold off on our search for this elusive Zenith Omnidony for a while. I need time to work on a plan to counter Omninoir Infinity’s return and so far none of the other Omega Omnisphere champions have arrived in the new totality though I have faith that they’ll turn up. We need to form an alliance with the new Ash Ketchum 1 Million first because I think he’ll be more agreeable than new Ash 9 by 6 if my memories of their previous selves are anything to go by. The sooner I gain some new allies the better our chances at presenting an actual threat to Omninoir Infinity will be; as well as anything else that may end up coming through the breach in the Omega Omnisphere barrier.
I still cannot believe that such a thing could even exist but that singularity was a super massive hole in totality itself and that’s the only explanation I can think of. We need to monitor them further because although they’re stable there’s no telling what else might end up coming through those breaches. In the meantime I think that meeting new Ash 1 Million in our battling facility is the best course of action. We can set up the Battle Omnisphere close by the Battle Chateau here in this Kalos region, because that is right on the path Ash will need to take in order to get to his second gym match.
In the meantime Mew, I need you to scan the entire Omega Omnisphere for any sign of those breaches and give me the locale of all of them,” Serena 9 by Infinity instructed authoritatively as the 4 feet tall, lithe catlike Pokemon answered her and Arceus via the unbreakable telepathic bond they all shared. ‘Sure thing Serena, ugh; exactly how do I do that?’ Mew wondered, ever the curious cat Pokemon as Serena pondered that question. “Just scan for any sources of energy that… I can’t believe the words that are about to come out of my mouth, but scan for sources of pure energy that are completely foreign to this Omega Omnisphere. Visualize something like the concept of trans-dimensional energy or foreign matter except taken to a whole new level, infinitely more removed and alien than any breach in the dimensional barrier,” Serena 9 by Infinity suggested as Mew got right on it and her trainer vanished in a loud crack of Omega Omnisphere displacement.
She appeared on Route 7 between Camphrier Town and Connecting Cave further up while waiting for her Mew to finish scanning for breaches that spawned from the singularity. The long dirt road was mostly unoccupied except for the occasional traveler making their way either to the Battle Chateau further up or to Connecting Cave to get to the next town. There were wild Pokemon running all about but apart from that Serena was mostly alone save the pocket totality containing all of her Pokemon that she kept by her side at all times and which moved with her. It was a little trick she learned from Ash Ketchum Infinity clearly, and one which could contain an infinite number of people and things.
Its interior dimensions were infinitely larger than the exterior ones and when not being used to summon her Pokemon the tiny exterior of her pocket dimension zoomed about through the subatomic omniverse itself; every bit as tiny as superluminal particles yet infinitely faster. It moved through the subatomic omniverse at the invariant speed and never stayed in one place for more than a Planck instant. Luckily it always responded to Serena’s call alone and never failed to send her Pokemon through to help her no matter where or when in totality it was.
Using her omni senses and limitless perception to ensure nobody would see what she was about to do, Serena decided that very moment to summon one of the most important possessions in her pocket totality, the number one most unbeatable battling facility in the whole of creation. It was where the old Omega Omnisphere’s Pokemon Champions earned much of their rep as totality’s mightiest, at the height of their powers and careers. In a flash of blinding glittering lights the Battle Omnisphere materialized in a mini supernova of pure energy. An enormous multicolored, orb shaped building with a completely frictionless surface stood where nothing but grass was only seconds before. The orb stood afloat a few feet above ground via an infinite amount of anti-gravitons that the Battle Omnisphere naturally generated, allowing it to remain completely weightless even when in the event horizon of a black hole which has been its location on more than one occasion.
It was somewhat larger on the inside than the out though was not as infinite as Serena’s pocket totality; and a set of stairs leading up to the entrance came down directly onto the side of the road. One had to be at the very least a regional champion with six level infinity Pokemon minimum in order to compete, and Serena took great pride in the responsibilities Ash Infinity had bestowed upon her. She briefly wondered if she should search for any sign of old Ash 1 Million who unlike his counterpart from this totality was at the height of his power and career during the final days of the war against Omninoir Infinity.
Given that he, old Ash 9 by 6, and their respective Serena’s and Amber’s were some of the top tier champions of the old Omega Omnisphere Serena 9 by infinity knew they’d prove to be infinitely invaluable assets in the endless fight against Omninoir Infinity in all of his forms. She had wanted new Ash 1 Million to meet his doppelganger and give him an idea of just how much farther he had to go before being at his true personal best; but more importantly she knew she would need to convince him that everything she ended up telling him was true.
Frankly given the fact that Ash Ketchum Infinity was ingrained in the new UV as such a legendary icon, it was going to be hard to convince anyone that the legends were not just legends. Even one as powerful and as open minded as Ash 1 Million might not initially accept that one could become number one in the Omega Omnisphere at anything, and given the fact that every fully fledged champion of the old totality was able to give Ash Infinity a run for his money that was probably truer than she cared to admit.
“Ugh, I need to stop rambling inside my own head; hey Mew any luck yet,” Serena whined somewhat childishly as Mew chuckled inside her mind before finally replying. ‘Yep, according to my omni perception it seems there are a grand total of seven breaches in the Omega Omnisphere Barrier across the Omega Omnisphere. Funnily enough they don’t just exist in set points in space but also transcend time and exist in the past, present, and future of their locations. Get this Serena one of them is in the 9 by 3 universe where you just were, I’m surprised you didn’t notice it,’ Mew grinned telepathically, playfully admonishing Serena as the girl huffed and pouted her full pink lips while puffing her cheeks out. “Hey I was distracted; I was a girl on a mission to make Ash Ketchum Infinity mine. Unfortunately he rejected my advances and I admit I may have gotten a little… carried away in my overzealous expressions of my feelings,” Serena blushed, embarrassed by her previous actions back in the new 9 by 3 universe as Mew sniggered and her Arceus and other Pokemon all gave different variations of the same reaction.
‘Anyways moving on, the second breach is here in this universe; located in Vaniville town where the singularity originated. The third one is in the new 9 by 6 universe in its Sinnoh Region’s Hall of Origin I think. The fourth is in the Prime Pokemon World of the new Ultra-Verse, in its Kalos Region I think. The fifth one is in the new version of the Pokemon World with Ambertwo/Myra Oak and her Pokemon lover Mega Mewtwo Z, who from what I can tell is well on her way to becoming an Omega Omnisphere Champion caliber trainer in this Totality very much like her counterpart.
The sixth one is in an infinitely removed Pokemon World; and it is weird Serena but it’s a universe where the Ultra-Verse’s mechanics are almost nonexistent and the people there have no lasting impact on the Omega Omnisphere’s future. It is a seemingly small and insignificant version of the Pokeverse in the grand scheme of things if I ever saw one, and its mechanics are more akin to the Anime canon verse than the UV, so I can’t help but wonder why one of the breaches was drawn there. The seventh is outside of the Ultra-Verse weirdly enough, though I sense whoever is there is also destined to impact the Omega Omnisphere’s future and I think we both know who that is,’ Mew recovered from her laughter to quickly finish filling in her trainer as Serena nodded and jotted all of these locales down in her mental list, glad to know that Rey’s impact on totality’s future wasn’t one of the things that changed in this version of the Omega Omnisphere.
She knew that like his doppelganger, new Rey would prove to be as much as an infinitely invaluable ally. She hoped nothing too dangerous would come through that particular breach before Rey was ready to handle it. She had always felt particularly protective of Rey since he didn’t have the same mindset the rest of them did when it came to dealing with omni-shit as he liked to call it. She was also mildly intrigued by the sixth location but put it to the back of her mind for now. It wasn’t likely that anything overly dangerous would come through that particular breach and if they did she made a vow to do everything in her power to protect that universe to the best of her ability, but for now she had much bigger fish to fry and so long as any of her all-powerful allies remained trapped on the other side of those breaches she absolutely refused to close even a single one of them.
‘I’ll need to send one or two of you to closely monitor all of the breaches in tandem. If nothing too eventful happens at any one of them after a long enough while you are most welcome to change locations but you’ll need to alert me the instant you sense something coming through. I don’t want any of you engaging any foreign Omega Omnisphere breachers under any circumstances without ample backup, so are there any volunteers?’ Serena offered the job opportunity as her mindscape was bombarded with thousands of telepathic voices overlapping and superimposing on top of each other as she decided to settle the dispute by picking her volunteers herself; unable to take the migraine all of the different voices inside her head was giving her for extended periods.
“Alright let’s see here, Mew you can go since you have an idea of what the breaches are like and exactly where they’re located. And as for my second volunteer, I choose you Serena Infinity Delphox; if anything goes wrong use your omnipotent transformation to get out and alert me as soon as possible,” Serena instructed authoritatively over the sounds and groans of disappointment coming from her all-powerful army of Totality Champion caliber Pokemon, her tone leaving no room for any further arguments as the protests and complaints fell silent and Serena silently promised to give all of her Pokemon countless opportunities to do battle in good time. She was glad that even though she had a vast army of some of the most powerful Pokemon in totality, that she could still invest time in all of them due to her having all the time in the Omega Omnisphere and quite possibly beyond.
Mew and Delphox 9 by Infinity both appeared in two simultaneous flashes of multicolored lights, both of them brimming with calm confidence. Serena’s Mew was different from the other members of her race in terms of appearance; her fur color a shimmering white tinged with ever-shifting kaleidoscopic colors much like Sonic the Hedgehog in his Hyper Chaos form. Her body was lithe with slender muscles and was far more curvaceous and elongated than the norm for her entire species. Her feet and legs which should’ve been like a rabbit’s were instead more like a Cheetah’s, allowing her to stand up in a full humanoid posture.
Her arms which would’ve normally been of as little use to her as a T-Rex’s arms, were easily three times longer than the norm for her species and she got far more use out of them and her hands than should’ve been possible for the new species Pokemon. Her tail was over fifteen feet long but aside from that was the same for her as any other Mew, ending in a slightly bulbous tip and perfectly prehensile among other things such as possessing limitless physical strength and constricting capabilities like a Divine Serpent with absolute raw power.
Delphox 9 by Infinity was Serena’s starter and a seasoned veteran like no other amongst her species; even Ash Infinity’s Delphox couldn’t hold a candle to her feats and accomplishments over the years and like ‘Ash Infinity Greninja’ Serena’s Delphox could achieve a new form with Omni type capabilities, an infinitely diverse move pool, and omnipotent godhood and divinity to boot. She didn’t look much different from other members of her species though Serena had accessorized her starter with the Contest Star ribbon and an Omega Omnisphere Champion Coordinator custom made ribbon that Ash Infinity had made for her when she managed to beat his dancing Eevee in an unofficial contest battle and in her perfect form at that. Serena took great pride in this victory because many believed Ash Infinity’s Eevee was the number one Pokemon contest star in all the Omega Omnisphere.
“Alright you guys, you both ready to begin the almighty tasks I have entrusted you with,” Serena asked them with passion, both of her Pokemon nodding in response, Delphox more briskly than her partner. ‘Of course Serena, I’m actually looking forward to it and hope something interesting comes out of those breaches,’ Mew promised her with perfect composure and indifference, almost seeming bored; not even the slightest care in the Omega Omnisphere. She had gone up against Omninoir Infinity himself in single battle on more than one occasion yet she remained as unflappable and carefree as ever during the grueling grudge match.
Delphox merely nodded again, and Serena understood that no words needed to be spoken between them as both her Pokemon promised to stay safe and keep her posted before vanishing in two loud cracks of Omega Omnisphere displacement AKA Meta teleportation. Smiling in self reassurance that those two would get the job done, Serena tuned into her omni perception to see what was going on in Lumiose city and decided that the time had come at long last for her to start getting involved. Making a last minute adjustment to the Battle Omnisphere so that the staircase went back up inside the entryway and the words closed until further notice appeared on the impenetrably sealed dome and door; Serena 9 by Infinity disappeared into a wormhole connecting with every point in totality and opted to be a part of the action if only slightly.
While entangled with infinite realities, dimensions, and omnispheres, a part of her was worried about new Ash 1 Million and another part just wanted to be there to help. A third part of her was thirsting insatiably for action and craved some excitement for the first time in a good long while. A fourth and final part wondered briefly if she would ever find her place here in the new Omega Omnisphere since even her indigenous 9 by 3 universe wasn’t even hers anymore. Too much internal debate in her opinion, and so she appeared amidst the crowds gathered in Centrico Plaza without any further hurricanes of thoughts and emotions plaguing her only to rematerialize right in front of her 1 Millionth doppelganger from this Omega Omnisphere without meaning to… oops.
XXXXX
It finally happened; Serena had finally lost her bloody mind. As if watching from the sidelines while Sycamore went to Ash and his friends to warn them was bad enough, but now she was literally seeing double just as shit hit the fan once again and Ash took up the fight against Lexie AKA Amber the top admin of the new Team Flare, and for a full minute her mind was completely blank. She had been able to feel a foreign set of emotions she somehow recognized as Ash’s and she felt how badly Amber’s betrayal stung. She had wanted to badly to hear what was being said but was not allowed past the police blockade, now she was bearing witness to not only her breaking sanity but also the battle between Amber’s Primal Yveltal and Ash’s Raichu. It had been while rooting for Ash that she had first glimpsed her double, and now her doppelganger looked mildly surprised as Serena’s cerulean eyes locked on her own and nobody else seemed to notice the staring match between the two of them.
Quickly looking like she was at war with herself about what to do about this situation, Serena’s doppelganger disappeared discretely into the crowd as Serena followed after her without hesitation, having already recovered from the bad case of mind blanking syndrome that had plagued her only seconds before. The match between Ash and Amber was shaking the city at its very foundations behind her; as the crowd started to disperse and Officer Jenny’s forces started ushering the city folks further away from the scene. Serena felt compelled to find out who this lookalike imposter of hers was and how she had literally just appeared between her and the battling spectacle taking place before her.
Serena doubled her pace just as she saw her double disappear up Magenta Plaza past the Pokemon center and towards what she could’ve sworn was none other than Lysandre Labs. She looked back behind her and saw Amber’s Primal Yveltal KO Ash’s Raichu in one hit with what looked like rotating circular blades of pure energy that sawed through reality, hitting Raichu with a force that distorted totality itself. She grew concerned about the thought of Ash losing but then remembered her doppelganger and steeled herself and prepared to follow the imposter; not expecting to see Shauna, Calem, and even the invisible Arceus making their way towards her but glad she had some backup in case this impersonator was dangerous.
“I take it you guys saw what I saw right?” Serena pointedly asked them, earning a mute nod from all three of them whom looked like they couldn’t quite believe it; Arceus looked especially shocked and almost appeared to be spooked. Looking at Arceus, Serena decided to ask her something that was on her mind. “Do you think it could be time travel, like my future self or something?” she wondered but was disappointed when Arceus shook her head. ‘No, there can only ever be one Serena 1 Million at any point throughout totality, the existence of any temporal doppelgangers of you would result in some really screwed up paradoxes which can glitch the Omega Omnisphere completely out. It is extremely dangerous for Omega Omnisphere champions to meddle with their pasts and the paradox could potentially break reality Serena. This isn’t a temporal doppelganger of you, I reckon this is a different kind of doppelganger,’ Arceus theorized as Serena furrowed her eyebrows in thoughtful speculation and Calem piped up.
“What kind of doppelganger is she though? Oh, never mind, if we keep talking about this we’ll lose her so let’s just get going already,” Calem reasoned out logically as all of them agreed and Serena lead the way to Lysandre Labs further up Magenta Plaza where she saw her imposter disappear to. “Why would she come here; this place is in ruins and nobody dares to tread here after what Team Flare did,” Shauna inquired as Serena nodded in agreement. “Exactly, nobody dares to come here and where better to disappear back to where they came from than in a place that is completely deserted.
Based on her expression when she first… materialized in front of me I reckon she didn’t intend for me to see her and I’m guessing whatever means of instant transportation she used requires immense concentration in order to reach your destination. It is possible she was somewhat distracted when she teleported, or maybe she didn’t know I’d be there waiting for her when she appeared in that exact place,” Serena hypothesized as both Shauna and Calem sweat dropped at their friend’s obvious recent drastic increase in intelligence. Something had happened to their Serena recently and Calem reckoned it had something to do with Arceus and Omninoir. This whole situation seemed to center around the two of them, and their perpetual conflict of good versus evil.
“I really hope this isn’t some kind of trap but we’re not going to find anything out just sitting here so let’s go guys,” Serena instructed as she steeled her nerves and walked in first, her friends and Arceus following after her as the latter phased through the walls of the ruined café. Lysandre Café was overgrown with small trees, weeds, and grass and the entrance to Lysandre Labs was currently blocked by none other than Serena’s lookalike who cast a radiant glow throughout the entire room and was outlined in a shimmering; multicolored light that seemed to glow brightest on the infinity symbol embroidered on the chest of her belly shirt.
Before Serena or the others could say anything her doppelganger spoke first, in a voice that was somewhat deeper than Serena’s and brimming with pure energy as potent as the ungodly, unlimited powers she literally radiated with just her mere presence. “I’m sorry you guys for making such a stupid miscalculation, trust me that very rarely ever happens anymore and I guess I was more distracted than I thought. I never meant for any of you to see me and I apologize for what I’m about to do; before you all ask no I’m not leading you all into a trap but I didn’t want witnesses when I did what I was going to do to you and with Ash 1 Million so close by I couldn’t risk exposing myself or my powers within his line of sight… not yet at least,” her double smiled somewhat sheepishly as Serena and the others were blinded by a massive dome of white light and pure energy. When it died down and Serena regained the power of sight both Calem and Shauna were gone and only Serena and Arceus were left to bear witness to the sheer power this woman possessed.
“What the hell did you do to them?!” Serena demanded in a mix of both terror and fury, but to her relief her double held up a hand to silence her and quickly responded. “They’re both just fine, in the Pokemon Center up Magenta Plaza no more than a few dozen meters from here; they’ll wake up with no memories of the past ten minutes and by then I’ll already be long gone. But while we’re all here we might as well talk Serena 1 Million since there are things we should undoubtedly discuss,” mirror Serena smirked confidently at the pair of them as Arceus took the opportunity to say her piece and Serena did a double take at her double’s perfect smile which was nearly identical to her own.
“First things first who are you? Because while I recognize the variation of the infinity symbol on your chest I can’t believe the person who first branded it actually exists,” Arceus questioned with almost perfect composure as Serena stood there with a very WTF look plastered on her face as mirror-mirror chuckled at her expression. “Ah that is the question. I suppose I should start from the beginning but we need to buy more time so we don’t miss Ash 1 Million’s first match with one of his greatest rivals for the future Omega Omnisphere championship title he’ll one day possess. I reckon you wouldn’t want to miss that would you Serena,” Serena lookalike said with supreme nonchalance and in a voice like yet so not like Serena’s it was very disconcerting. She was startled once again when the entire world gained a golden hue all around them and stopped turning. The movement of the entire planet and everything on it became eternally suspended in space and time as Serena’s mind went blank in response to what she was witnessing.
“I stopped time throughout the entire Omega Omnisphere. Everything that isn’t fully fledged members of the Omnipotence Nexus is now stuck in eternally suspended animation until I decide otherwise. This included all of the mythical Pokemon of this world including the level infinity ones on both Ash and Amber’s teams since both of them create certain limits for themselves. And obviously you’re still here to Jewel of Life Arceus. Now we can talk in this time stopped totality for as long as we want and not have to worry about anything eventful or exciting happening while we’re sitting here shooting the shit as the saying goes,” Serena lookalike explained before they could even think to ask what happened as Serena’s mind just got seriously fucked by that explanation and Arceus simply chuckled at the theatrical display.
“Okay, so can you answer Arceus’s question from before now? Who exactly are you,” Serena wondered, sensing that she was going to be in for a long explanation and bracing herself for the inevitable as her doppelganger launched into a lengthy anecdote. As she listened to Serena 9 by Infinity’s life story and learned her doppelganger’s name and some of her infinite experiences Serena couldn’t help feeling like everything she thought she knew was irrevocably lost to the void. Her view of the world, her beliefs, her preconceived notions, and even her newborn conceptualizations of the Omega Omnisphere and her destiny as a future Totality Champion; were immutably changed forever. One thing she knew now though, was that these changes were ultimately for the better and with Ash by her side in this beyond human lifestyle they both had the ability to live; she knew that things would turn out better for her and her grand destiny than she ever thought possible.

Before the battle between Ash and Amber starts
Everybody visibly reacted to Sycamore’s accusation in their own unique ways. Ash could hear Bonnie gasping among other things but his mind was too blank to process anything that was going on as he resumed his speculative glance at Lexie who looked shell shocked and a myriad of other emotions he couldn’t trace now that his ability to sense the EST or Emotional Spectrum of Totality was lost. He’d have to rely on good old gut instincts and his own wits and intuition all of which were still formidable even without his powers.
In all honesty he should’ve considered the possibility that Lexie could’ve been double crossing him or something, yet he just couldn’t bring himself to believe she was in league with Lysandre or the new Team Flare. She had seemed so nice and he opened up to her so easily, sensing no hostility or malevolent intentions from her whatsoever even with his powers intact; yet he also remembered how she had been particularly hard for him to read so perhaps her ability to fool him was also formidable. He should’ve seen this coming; he had even entertained the idea for a split second before distractions arose in the form of Alexa and Officer Jenny, so why did her betrayal sting so fucking much?!
It was not like he knew her all that well and whatever her intentions were regarding him her smiles and her laughter as they made small talk and went out to dinner or even while they were engaging in penetrative intercourse all seemed so real and genuine. He couldn’t bring himself to believe that everything about her had been one big fat lie, because if it was she was not only the best con artist in the world but also a traitor whom Ash would’ve felt close to no matter how good of a liar she was. No matter what she may have done he couldn’t bring himself to hate her, yet he was surprised by how much Sycamore’s accusation hurt him as the girl in question slowly turned around to face him with a pleading look which jarred him out of his thoughts.
Sycamore looked positively alarmed and furious as Lexie gazed at all of them like a deer caught in the headlights. Ash opted to at least try and give her the benefit of the doubt before he jumped the gun and started accusing her to. Sighing in frustration as he massaged his temples once again, Ash decided to address Sycamore’s rather serious accusation as Lexie and the others all fell silent and listened to what he had to say. “Professor, not to sound like a skeptic or anything but exactly how did you come by this information,” Ash wondered with as much composure as he could muster in this situation as Lexie gazed at him in shock as though she couldn’t believe he was defending her.
Sycamore nodded understandingly and proceeded to explain what he had seen to them. “I witnessed it for myself Ash; I was still in the laboratory with Sophie trying to help Lexie fend those grunts off, but I knew I’d need my competitive team in order to be of any use to her so I went back to grab them and when I got back just in time to help Lexie I saw him. Lysandre had come in and told Lexie to run, to find you and do whatever it takes to win your allegiance. When she refused to leave him outright to fight those monsters I realized she was in cahoots with the leader of the new Team Flare who was the same as the old one. I couldn’t believe Lysandre was alive or that Lexie was his top admin, but I know what I saw Ash and I’m sorry but Lexie needs to be taken in for these horrific situations she ultimately wrought,” Sycamore explained hastily, glaring daggers at Lexie all along as said girl gazed at Ash and all of the others in turn, searching their faces for any sign that they believed the professor.
“Professor, what if it was Omninoir behind you seeing what you saw. Given everything he’s capable of it is possible he could have been using some dark illusions to manipulate everything you saw or heard; hell one of the applications of omnipotence is to have unlimited powers of illusion so I can’t help thinking that. Doing everything in his power to poison us against Lexie sounds just like something an Anti-God would do; he exists to spread chaos and strife and to absolutely corrupt any and all sentient beings in existence whether they have the powers of a god or not,” Ash paused a moment, knowing he was effectively giving Lexie a way out as everybody stared at him in disbelief but none more so than the amber eyed, auburn haired girl herself.
As Lexie realized the jig was up and Ash was giving her the perfect way out of this precarious situation she found herself in, (which she loved him for by the way) she knew she could lie her way out of this situation if it was anyone else but not Ash. For some reason she didn’t want to accept the free pass Ash was giving her and steeled her resolve before standing to her feet once again and addressing them all. “Thank you Ash for offering me such an easy way out of this position I’m in, you have no idea how much I love you for giving me the benefit of the doubt even when all the evidence points directly at me. But what Professor Sycamore told all of you was true, I am the top admin of the new Team Flare,” Amber managed to finally come out and say it, feeling naked and exposed like never before as she awaited Ash’s verdict, not really caring what the others thought even if they were his friends but Ash’s opinion mattered to her more than she cared to admit.
Ash stood up as well, looking deeply hurt and disappointed as well as even a little bit angry, and Amber wasn’t sure which of those emotions cut her deeper. “So all of this, our dinner date, our talks, everything; it was all just one big lie, and for what?! To get back at me for what I did to your grunts, to get revenge for me wounding your Team Flare pride?! Was that all I was to you Lexie, a means to an end; were you only with me to keep me distracted so your grunts could pick a new Pokemon target to enslave?! How dare you take advantage of me like that Lexie, I’ve been nothing but kind to you and this is how you repay me!” Ash roared in pure, unadulterated fury, shocking everyone present including Sycamore a little as Amber shuddered from his harsh tone but managed to find a response.
“I admit that distracting you while my grunts tried to find a new Pokemon to clone for our shadow Pokemon project was how this all started. I didn’t expect for you to be so nice or… that I would wind up getting closer to you than I ever dreamed possible. You have to believe me Ash, I did truly enjoy our time together which is the only reason I’m even bothering to have this conversation with you. Besides you promised me remember, you told me you wouldn’t see me any differently no matter what you learned about me, remember?!” Amber pleaded with him, surprised to find tears forming in her eyes as she begged him to understand and honor his promise. But to her horror Ash’s eyes narrowed and he gave her the steeliest look she’d ever seen on a person.
“This is not what I meant Lexie and you damn well know it, so don’t you dare use my own words against me, not now; not after everything that has just been brought to light. I was more open with you than I should’ve been admittedly, especially when I didn’t really know you long enough to really know you, but all of this; everything you did and inadvertently caused, I don’t think I can look the other way Lexie,” Ash shouted back at her, surprised by how much this betrayal was hurting him. Was it because his faith in people and humanity had betrayed him as much as Lexie did, or perhaps part of the problem was Omninoir’s words still in the back of his mind. ‘Humans and mortal beings as a collective whole will never be of any use to us except to understand that our very existence diminishes them all, renders them and everything they can or ever will do totally obsolete; next to our awesome might, their abilities are nothing but a joke.’
‘Who else should I put my faith in?! We both know that trusting others is a calculated risk; one supreme beings with any knowledge of humanity are unwilling to take. We can fool those closest to us can't we, but we can lean on no one boy. These humans will be forever inferior to our kind and their petty actions will always reflect their inferiority complex in the end. Face it Ash, befriending or working alongside someone with the powers of a god is so demoralizing; these people are not nor will they ever be worthy of our genuine love, because none of them ever truly love gods themselves. They may admire us to an extent from afar, especially during such moments where we are particularly inspiring; but it's fleeting, conditional, and doesn't deepen in a way that truly matters.’ In the end Omninoir’s words rang true, in the end Lexie’s betrayal reflected her true motives which was to assimilate as much power and control for herself and Team Flare as she could.
The really perverse part was that had she asked him Ash would’ve given her everything; he’d have given her all the power, wealth, and seemingly perfect lifestyles an omnipotent being could possibly amass but now he didn’t even know the kind of person she was anymore. He thought that the half a day or so they’d spent together in ecstasy would’ve been enough for him to at least have a general idea of the kind of person she was, and frankly that person had been someone he thought he could love as much as Serena for different reasons; but now he knew that person simply didn’t exist. In the end it was just too good to be true, as people often tended to be for their own benefit.
There was always going to be some selfish, ulterior motive behind every action every person took no matter how tiny that self centered part of them happened to be, no matter how small it was it was still going to be there inside of them; Ash just wished now that he hadn’t been so gullible or naïve where Lexie was concerned. He should’ve been smarter about this but as far as emotions go he was capable of making mistakes or lapses in judgement; no matter how good he was intellectually the Emotional Spectrum of Totality could always bring even the Omega Omnisphere’s Mightiest to their knees.
Lexie looked like she was about to cry and for a moment Ash felt guilty for being so harsh with her, but quickly squashed that guilt as he remembered Raichu in his Pokeball and what had happened to him and to Froakie because of her actions. Froakie was among their entourage and Ash was glad to note that like the others he made it out okay; whoever his mysterious guardian angel had been they were good and hadn’t left a single one of them to die. He’d have to thank them once he dealt with the current crisis at hand.
“Ash, please understand that I had nothing to do with what happened to your Raichu and to Froakie. My orders to the grunts were simply for them to find trainers who were willing to part with their Pokemon just long enough for us to clone them for our shadow Pokemon army, at which point we would return the original to the trainer unharmed. I’ll admit that the usage of such Pokemon doesn’t sit well with me and the fact that they’re willing to hurt trainers and aren’t hindered by the flight or fight instinct was necessary for us to achieve some of our goals for world peace. If the trainers refused to cooperate we were to leave them be and not push the issue, but my grunts defected which leads me to believe that Omninoir may have exerted his influence over them way back then. Lysandre deemed the shadow Pokemon army a necessary but only temporary evil and the process is completely reversible even for the XD caliber shadow Pokemon Team Flare had the technology to reverse it. We would never abuse the power we gained from using shadow Pokemon like Team Cipher did.
We had our own purification chambers and everything and I’ve tested them myself and confirmed that they work. My own Pokemon Team has not got a single shadow Pokemon on it because I believe that the bond between trainers and Pokemon is more important than the sheer power and ferocity displayed by pure shadow types, but I guess I’m old fashioned like that. But I promise you Ash I had nothing to do with these events that have transpired today and I certainly am not in league with a monster like Omninoir. I know that Lysandre himself was once capable of mass omnicide he has done nothing but try to atone for his sins ever since your father saved his life back in Geosenge Town all those years ago, and he can’t do that if he is locked up in a prison; so yeah I believe that he should get a second chance at redemption just the same as any other man or woman,” Lexie pleaded her case with all of them in turn, and Ash could sense nothing but pure sincerity coming off of her as she seemed to be speaking from the heart.
All and all as Ash listened to her words he realized it was a pretty compelling argument, not too perfect or well rehearsed but not damningly unconvincing in any other respect either. He was also surprised that Lysandre had managed to survive being buried alive in all that rubble, and was about to ask about his father when Lexie said something else. “Oh by the way Ash, my real name is Amber Valentino and just know that I’ve never divulged my true identity to anybody outside of Team Flare before,” she smiled wistfully at him, hoping to win him over with that statement when instead all she did was make him more upset.
“You mean you never told anyone out of your countless hapless victims who you were except me because I’m special?! Amber, that isn’t really going to help your case right now so don’t waste my time with flattery alright?!” Ash warned her tersely and she immediately clammed up while the Pallet Town trainer mulled everything over and Sycamore glanced between the girl named Amber and Ash with something of a sympathetic smile on his face. Admittedly she hadn’t turned out to be as behind the events of today as he would’ve expected, and maybe he was too quick to judge, but her faith in Lysandre was misplaced that was for certain.
He also knew that if Ash deemed her to be guilty of any sort of crime then Officer Jenny who was waiting patiently for his verdict just a few meters off to their group’s right, would have no choice but to arrest her. Not only because of Ash’s hero status throughout Lumiose City but also because of the fact that he was a very high ranking official in both the Pokemon Rangers and International Police, having worked alongside Looker on a case more than once. He was even the co-operating leader of the entire Pokemon G-Men alongside Lance himself. This essentially meant that were he so inclined Ash was permitted to be judge, jury, and quite possibly executioner all at once; though the young man would never abuse that kind of political and legal power/authority Jenny was clearly waiting for him to give the word before she took any sort of action. It was amazing to think that one man could have so much power and influence at only 18 years of age and not become corrupted by said power, but that was just the kind of boy Delia Ketchum raised Sycamore supposed.
Ash decided to speak up then and there, and Amber perked up in response to his voice; somehow knowing that his word was law at this moment. “So Lysandre survived, my father decided to go back for him did he? Despite all the atrocities he had committed?” Ash voiced somewhat skeptically, though admittedly that sounded like something he would’ve done. He would’ve had Lysandre stand trial though and had him face justice for his crimes, so why in the hell had Red decided to just let him go? Something wasn’t adding up and Ash was going to get to the bottom of it.
“Yes he did, sounds like something you would do to actually, like father like son I suppose,” Amber sniffed, the naked honesty behind her statement almost causing Ash to blush in response to it against his will. Steeling himself Ash decided to point out the flaw in that particular belief of hers. “Be that as it may I also would have made Lysandre faced justice for his crimes against humanity. So answer me this Amber, why didn’t my father do the same?” Ash asked her, and to his surprise she immediately responded. “I don’t know, I asked Lysandre myself but he wouldn’t go into details. My guess is he managed to break free of Red and escape because he knew he wouldn’t be able to fix his mistakes from behind a prison cell.
I don’t know the honest answer to that Ash and that’s because I wasn’t there, but I also remember how baffled Lysandre sounded when he first told me this story; how amazed he was at Red’s capacity to spare his life even despite all he has done. Also quite frankly Lysandre has done absolutely nothing these past ten years but help me and everyone else on Team Flare and I for one am not about to question his integrity at this point,” Amber insistently stated as Ash suddenly realized she might have been doing all these things out of some misplaced sense of loyalty towards Lysandre. He needed her to understand that 9 times out of 10 people didn’t just change who they were at the core.
“So you’re… loyal to Lysandre; if I’m not prying too much may I better understand the basis of this loyalty you have towards him?” Ash asked her with politeness, appreciating the honesty of her case as she continued to plead it to him, knowing he was effectively doing his duty as a judge in this role and she was technically the defendant or something. Amber nodded with a fond smile, which quickly grew haunted as she remembered exactly what had happened to solidify her loyalty to Lysandre. “He ugh… saved my life when I was eight years old. You see my parents died in a fire that destroyed my home, nobody believed me when I said that there was a black Mew fully interlaced in the fire and only now do I realize it was Omninoir. He said it himself, he wasn’t there to kill my parents; he was there to kill me which means he knew about us Ash, right from the get go. Point is, Lysandre was there to save me and my starter Pokemon from the fire; commanded his level infinity mega Gyarados to put out the fire and amazingly enough it worked. The fire was gone and I was left all alone in the world with no parents and only a Pokemon by my side, so Lysandre took me in and treated me as he would his own daughter,” Amber explained, surprising Ash with her story as he visibly blanched at that horrifying revelation.
Sympathy beyond measure for Amber’s childhood tragedy swelled inside him like a hot air balloon, and for a split second he saw the anguish, the hurt, and the pain inside of her normally playful, beautiful eyes. Somehow he knew she was telling the truth, not only because his gut instincts were telling him so but also because of the similar situations that befell both of them in their respective childhoods, because of who and what they were and what they were destined to become. The difference is Ash survived his childhood encounter with Omninoir and had only physical scars from that day, but Amber’s losses and pains were so much worse that he was almost ready to pardon her for whatever crimes she may have made right then and there. The problem was he needed to be objective as much as he was subjective in this situation; otherwise Amber might get away with some truly despicable acts even if they were out of love towards a man who was like a father to her.
“I had a… similar encounter with Omninoir in my own childhood, luckily I and my loved ones survived though I did sustain some pretty serious injuries that day in the forest back on Route 1 in Kanto,” Ash admitted sorrowfully as everyone either blanched or gasped at this revelation. Ash could see tears welling up in Bonnie’s eyes as Brock looked at him in shock. “You never told me that before Ash,” Brock stated matter-of-factually as Ash nodded hesitantly and gave them all a shaky smile before returning his attention to Amber. “The problem I find with this situation Amber is… your faith in Lysandre. I can’t help feeling like it is misplaced; I mean nobody can completely change who they are,” Ash told her in a much softer tone of voice than he had been using prior.
Amber shook her head at him, refusing to believe his words. “But you can,” she stated like it was the most simple thing in the world. “Yes theoretically I could but Amber, my deification didn’t change who I was it simply highlighted the best and worst parts of who I already was with boundless brilliance and infinite luminosity. Besides even if I were to use my powers to rewrite my very fundamental existence it would be like brainwashing yourself into becoming something you’re not; and I can’t really bring myself to do that or believe that anyone else is capable of such a rewrite unless they truly hate their own existence. So forgive me if I’m skeptical but I’m not buying into the fact that Lysandre has truly changed and while I commend your loyalty to someone you think you owe your life to, I can’t help but wonder if he is using this life debt you owe him to his advantage.
Not to mention the fact that you never even questioned why he was just in the right place at exactly the right time to save you from Omninoir, something about this situation doesn’t add up Amber and if you saw things a little more objectively you’d see it to,” Ash explained to her, praying to the highest authorities in the Omega Omnisphere that Amber would somehow understand but to his dismay she couldn’t see it. “Ash, I appreciate all the trouble you’re going to for me but don’t ask me to question my loyalty to Lysandre after everything he has done for me. No offense my friend but you weren’t there during all of our training sessions together or during the times when he was just there for me whenever I needed him; don’t make me choose between you or him because inevitably I will only ever choose him. He’s the father I never had and I’ve only known you for less than a day and I will not stand here and listen to you try to drive a wedge between me and him,” Amber declared resolutely, refusing to understand, refusing to see that Ash was only saying these things to her because he cared about her and didn’t want her throwing her life away on the whims of a madman.
Knowing that she wouldn’t accept him over that monster, even if she had only known him for less than a day, made Ash feel the sting of betrayal all over again, and he sighed in deep frustration upon concluding there was only one thing left to do now. “Then I guess I have no choice Amber, I’m sorry but you’ll have to be placed under arrest; for aiding and abetting a known convicted felon for crimes against humanity and attempted genocide, and in full awareness of the illegality of your actions you even committed various atrocities on said felon’s behalf. Said atrocities will be determined in exact detail during your proper hearing at court, it is here where I leave you in the hands of Kalos’s legal authorities.
Anything you say or do from this point on can and will be held against you in the court of law. Officer Jenny, I hereby turn Amber Valentino over to you, you may deal with her however the laws and people of Kalos see fit,” Ash stated coldly, denouncing Amber right in front of everybody as a fully fledged criminal and turning his back on her as she looked at him pleadingly while her Yveltal circled overhead and prepared to defend her and Officer Jenny’s eyes peered up at the sky nervously while she prepared to formally arrest the girl that Ash so coldly laid down the law upon. She had to admit that even by her strict standards Ash’s verdict was harsher than she would’ve anticipated from him, but perhaps this was taken more personally by him than he cared to admit. And frankly that girl’s stubborn refusal to give up Lysandre was going to land her in a lot of hot water herself. Jenny was still surprised that the former leader of Team Flare was still alive and kicking, but there were more surprising things in the world; the events from earlier today has definitely taught her that if nothing else.
“Ash look at me; please don’t do this,” Amber shrieked at him despairingly, desperately begging him to turn around as Ash coldly responded without moving so much as an inch. “You’re not leaving me much choice Amber; I gave you so many chances, every opportunity to understand that what Lysandre was making you do was wrong, to understand that what you were helping him do was wrong. I gave you the chance to renounce his ways and I said those things to you because I still care about you, but you spat in my face. You would rather go down with a madman who once was capable of mass omnicide than partner up with the side of light, not to mention a fellow champion of totality. You didn’t just betray me Amber, you betrayed a fellow champion of the Omega Omnisphere and that is an unforgivable crime amongst our pantheon,” Ash stated loud and clear as day; not even caring that the rest of his friends heard his seemingly insane proclamation and only caring that Amber understood every word he was saying, though he was surprised when all they seemed to do was anger her.
“If you knew the first thing about being a champion on that scale you wouldn’t be condemning one of your own to such a harsh fate when all I was doing was for the good of mankind! And to think I was going to ask you to join my elite ranks in Team Flare! Lysandre asked me to do whatever it took to earn your trust and allegiance but I guess that’s never going to happen now is it?! You may be destined to be a Pokemon Champion of Totality but you’ve got a long way to go yet buster, and I’m not through with you Ash Ketchum, not now and not ever,” Amber shouted just as harshly as Ash had done when he first found out about her treachery, shocking him to the core as he spun around to face her once again with fire in his eyes. She was struggling valiantly against officer Jenny as the esteemed blue haired cop attempted to handcuff her, and Ash was so shocked and so appalled by what Amber just said to him he was basically rendered speechless, something he had never thought possible before but then again this girl just kept right on surprising him.
“Are you threatening me?!” Ash growled dangerously, his voice just barely steady as Amber didn’t even seem to register the female officer binding her in handcuffs. “No you omninescient moron, I’m saying I’m never giving up on you until the end; even if that is more than you deserve,” Amber roared back just as formidably; the similarity between her choice of words and his own when he reiterated his catchphrase to Serena so many years ago not lost on the Pallet Town prodigy. He almost lost his resolve right then and there, almost had Jenny release the restraints and almost let Amber go; but he managed to steel himself once again and said three simple words he never thought he would say. “Take her away,” he instructed Officer Jenny who nodded and began to usher Amber away when Amber made a loud whistling sound by tightening her bottom lip and called out to her flying Yveltal who came right away as though waiting for his trainer’s instructions.
“Yveltal to me, prepare to fly on out of here,” Amber called up to him just as Ash realized what was happening just as it happened. Yveltal had swooped down towards all of them intended to scoop Amber up and brush them all aside. Now normally Ash would have done his homework on something such as this before engaging a new type of Pokemon in battle, especially one of the godlike ones such as Primal Yveltal; but right now he didn’t have the time nor did he have the power necessary to update his UV knowledge base to include information on Primal Yveltal anymore. So he did the next best thing, he called Raichu from the safety of his Pokeball who immediately fired of a thunderbolt towards Yveltal without even having to receive instructions.
A massive torrent of bluish-white electricity sailed through the air with infinite megawatts towards the four winged, pink eyed, white feathered, omnipotent bird of destruction, who caught the blast head on just as Brock took the initiative and began to steer Bonnie, Clemont, and even Froakie away to a safer distance.
Officer Jenny ran back just as Yveltal was blindingly illuminated by superluminal electrical energy moving faster than she could perceive. Ash covered his eyes as did Amber while Yveltal remained fluttering in the epicenter of the ultra powered thunderbolt, seemingly completely unfazed by the full powered electrical attack. As the attack carried on to no effect and Raichu continued to fire off his electricity in vain Ash decided it was best to try something else but was surprised when his trusty partner squealed in what appeared to be agony. Amber called out to Yveltal then, her angry, battle oriented voice captivating Ash momentarily as he realized he’d never heard her sound so confident or majestic before.
“Keep using your ability Yveltal, use Totality Consumption but only on Raichu do you understand, I don’t want there to be any casualties so keep the fight focused on Ash’s Pokemon alright,” Amber instructed, and Ash couldn’t help but grudgingly respect her for that as he cracked his first genuine smile for the first time since he first found out about her. “You know this is actually kind of nice, no holds barred, nothing held back between us. I even know your real name, and I gotta say Amber sounds a lot better on you than Lexie ever did,” Ash called out to her as Amber smirked at him in return.
“Yeah well, you’re not the only one with godlike legends on your roster,” she retorted with a cute pout, and Ash couldn’t help getting caught up in their little game again as he ordered Raichu to cut off the thunderbolt only to realize that Raichu had been trying this whole time to do so yet the infinite electrical energy within him was being forced out of Ash’s buddy, his endless electrical energy feeding into Yveltal’s massive body as though he were some kind of living all-powerful singularity. What had Amber called his ability, Totality Consumption or something, well that was a new one on him and if it was true that meant Amber had to have known at least somewhat about the Omega Omnisphere or at least the theory behind it if she knew the name to Yveltal’s ability all along.
“Raichu try to regain control and use a full powered, infinite megaton Iron Tail on her Yveltal. No point in holding back during a battle of this magnitude, also Arceus do you think you can cushion the impact our blows have on the rest of totality. I’m kind of unable to do so at the moment so I’d really appreciate it if you did that just this once,” Ash asked hopefully as Arceus’s voice sounded in his head. ‘Ash it would be my genuine pleasure, Totality Preservation powers are now engaged, feel free to hit her Pokemon as hard as you like and whatever you do don’t play around or hesitate to cut loose. Keep in mind this is one of your fellow champions of the Omega Omnisphere in the making and from what I can tell she is your equal in terms of the sheer power displayed by her Pokemon even if her Pokemon are fewer in numbers than yours. Just be careful alright, and try to reason with her to because I refuse to believe one of my champions could’ve been so easily corrupted by a mortal man no matter how much he means to her,’ Arceus requested in return as Ash nodded and got to work passing this along to his Raichu so he wouldn’t have to worry about casualties.
Raichu nodded, his tail gaining a metallic sheen and turning into a blade of infinitely hardened and sharpened metal from years of training and honing his iron tail to an art form. The sword that Ash’s Raichu sported could cut through any composition that wasn’t infinitely indestructible, and even then it could make one hell of a blunt object among other things. His tail couldn’t get any harder since it was already naturally of nigh total invulnerability, but the bladed iron tail technique had worked to their advantage against level infinity Pokemon on more than one occasion and hopefully it worked this time to.
Amber smiled as Raichu vaulted into the air towards Yveltal with an extremely menacing looking bladed iron tail, his electrical energy still being siphoned into Yveltal’s body as the embodiment of omnipotent destruction fed off the Raichu’s energy and continuously caused it infinite amounts of damage. The lightning mouse had been trained well however and shook off most of the perpetual agony Yveltal put it through like it was no big deal, but that kind of stuff added up even to an almighty example of any Pokemon species. Yveltal’s primal ability was absurdly overpowered, allowing Primal Yveltal to damage Pokemon continuously with just his mere presence, and at full power the Totality Consumption ability could instantly KO any Pokemon that wasn’t level infinity, and without Yveltal even having to use a single attack.
“Alright Yveltal use a full powered Totality Wrecker on Raichu just like what Ash’s Primal Palkia used,” Amber instructed much to the chagrin of Ash and horrified shock of Raichu as Yveltal immediately fired off that exact attack at the airborne mouse just as his iron tail was about to connect. Rotating, circular blades of pure multicolored energy sailed through the air like living saws of pure distortion, shearing through the very fabric of the Omega Omnisphere itself along its trajectory and cutting into Raichu with the very power of totality itself. A mini omni-nova detonated in response to the attack colliding with Raichu who didn’t even shriek out in pain as his unconscious form fell right at Ash’s feet, the detonation causing a swirling vortex of pure chaos, Aether, and other primordial energies to stir up and for a massive hole in the fabric of totality itself to form before the energy from the remaining Totality Wreckers flew into the broken reality barrier and fused together to patch it right back up.
Ash could fully understand how a blast like that had knocked Raichu the fuck out now; his sliced up bloody body had already healed but was knocked out completely cold. Ash stared at his starter’s form in astonishment as he returned the electric type wonder to his Pokeball, unable to believe just how quickly Raichu had been taken out of the fight as Amber’s Yveltal roared with pure defiance and at the natural frequency of the Omega Omnisphere itself. This inevitably caused even more distortions to break out across the infinite reality. Thankfully for everyone these distortions appeared to be more stable than the singularity had been and immediately closed up as soon as they were opened. “Excellent work Raichu, you take a good long rest alright,” Ash whispered lovingly to his Pokeball before kissing it quickly and placing it tentatively back on its holster on his belt.
Amber smiled at her Yveltal as he managed to one shot Ash’s most prized starter, pride for her legendary coursing through her as she spoke up to him. “That was absolutely fantastic Yveltal; you pulled that combination off beautifully. Not to mention that was your first time performing that attack so well done, great, great work,” Amber congratulated her legendary much to Ash’s joy as he realized she really did consider her Pokemon her friends and family.
“I must admit Amber that was impressive; I’ve encountered very few Pokemon in my time who were able to smack my Raichu around like that, two of them were Dialga and Palkia in their Primal forms. But even more impressive is not the level of skill and power you possess but the amount of love you clearly have for your Pokemon. Someone very wise once said that you don’t prove anything by showing off a lot of special powers and that a Pokemon’s real strength comes from the heart. I believe you understand that, and I also believe you’re not as guilty of these alleged crimes as you were willing to let us believe for Lysandre’s protection.
But enough about that, even gods can be brought to their knees through the power of love; and sometimes when the EST binds a god or goddess to someone strongly enough, that deity can make a lot of mistakes on that person’s behalf including believing in them when they ought not to be believed in. I understand that these things happen for a reason Amber and that Lysandre may have saved your life; I only hope that when push comes to shove you’ll do the right thing, and when you do I will be there to help see you through it I promise,” Ash passionately declared as Amber couldn’t help but smile at that. All and all he was only really doing what he thought was best for her and admittedly she couldn’t stay mad at him for that, but she had a duty to Lysandre and Team Flare and that had to come first; at least for the time being.
“I can’t believe how powerful that Yveltal is, I mean it beat Ash’s Raichu with just one attack,” Bonnie pointed out as though it weren’t already obvious as Clemont nodded somewhat nervously and Sycamore and Brock both couldn’t help but smile. “Not only does she have powers and skills rivaling Ash’s own; she also has a great deal of respect for the Pokemon on her roster, and as I fully understand that is the mark of a true Pokemon Master,” Brock commented, Professor Sycamore nodding as he realized he may have pegged the girl wrong at first but when it came to protecting these children Sycamore had always been irrational where the people he was close to was concerned. In fact Amber’s betrayal had stung him at first to, and when that had passed he knew he had to do whatever he could to keep Ash and his friends safe and make them somehow aware of Amber’s alleged treachery.
“I’ve just learned that anti-gods and living legends can and do exist, and while it terrifies me I also know that Ash seems like the kind of guy needed to deal with these kinds of situations. We could learn a lot from him and both of us could grow so much stronger with his help, wouldn’t you say Bonnie,” Clemont asked his little sister as they stood watching from a safe distance, the blows that Ash and Amber’s Pokemon dealt each other somehow cushioned as the force of the exchanged attacks somehow failed to reach them.
“You bet, Ash is going to be a great teacher, but first he needs to make Amber see reason,” Bonnie rationalized. She was surprised that she didn’t feel as worried for Ash’s safety as she had when this first started, but then again Ash and Amber were more like friendly adversaries or friendly arch rivals than actually bitter arch enemies who hated each other’s guts. Honestly even despite learning what they did about Amber Bonnie still wanted to believe that she could come back, that she wasn’t so far gone and honestly Bonnie could use another female in her life if they were all going to be traveling together.
Ash meanwhile was going over all of his options as Yveltal and Amber patiently awaited his next choice, and the Son of Red was astounded when the last voice he expected to hear was the first one to volunteer for the match. ‘Ash send me out this time, it’s been awhile since I’ve been out in the open space of the Omega Omnisphere and quite frankly I haven’t fought an opponent of this caliber on your behalf since we rescued Unova from a rampaging Kyurem in his unlimited form last year,’ Arceus spoke, volunteering to fight for the first time in several months as Ash’s eyes widened a fraction of an inch and his body became outlined in a golden light as he held Arceus’s master ball tentatively in his hands, realizing that if he threw it now the whole of Lumiose city and by extension the entire world would know about the most secretive member of his arsenal. No trainer in the whole of human history had ever captured the creation trio members nor showcased them in their totality manipulating forms, but what Ash was about to do would take the entire world by storm in ways too big for them to even imagine.
‘Ash just do it, it’s time the world knew that it harbors a Pokemon Champion of the Omega Omnisphere itself. Besides I could use the exercise,” Arceus chuckled with perfect, majestic composure and indifference as Ash rolled his eyes before throwing the ball in a fanciful fashion and watching the form of Arceus slowly form from the ball of light that expanded from it. As his silhouette slowly took shape it began morphing into his Ascension Form, hundreds of golden tendrils of pure energy with fisted ends expanding from his now multicolored cross-shaped wheel and the upper parts of his equine body. His hooves were similarly mottled and checkered in every color across the entire visible omniversal spectrum, and when he stood fully formed from the master ball the entire Omega Omnisphere convulsed and tightened all around them in response to his infinite presence. Tiny fireworks of light and energy exploded like countless microscopic hyper novas in the subatomic omniverse all around them as the very air became over-saturated with power, and Arceus stood on the battlefield seemingly completely unaffected by Amber’s Primal Yveltal’s ability.
The whole of Lumiose City seemed to stand stock still as none other than the God of all Pokemon himself stood looking perfectly complacent and content with his power even as Yveltal and Amber didn’t let up and immediately readied another attack. “I’ll admit I’m impressed to finally be meeting the almighty Arceus face to face for the first time ever, not many trainers can say they’ve truly been in my situation unless they were completely dishonest; but that’s not going to stop me from clinching this match Ash,” Amber chuckled in spite of herself as Ash accepted the challenge and Arceus readied for his first match in almost half a year.
“By all means Amber give me all you’ve got because I am perhaps one of the few people in our indigenous universe who can take all you can throw at us and give it back in spades,” Ash invited her in to make the first move as Arceus took a moment to address Amber in person, his telepathic voice localized so only the two of them could hear. ‘I must apologise for not taking a more proactive role in your destiny Amber, the losses you’ve sustained, the malevolent figure you consider to be a father; all of this could’ve easily been prevented by my hand but like Ash and the third champion I wasn’t to interfere with your fates. The Omega Omnisphere has its own set of laws, constants, and cycles that govern it, and it had already played a hand in challenging all three of you with different situations designed to test your character; oh and before you say anything it does all of this as an unconscious omnipotent force of nature so getting mad it at is a useless occupation because it is just doing what it was designed to do by its Omni-Creator.
Anyways, my point is I’m sorry for not taking any sort of action before this point, but the war with Omninoir needed to be nearing its crescendo before I became a more influential part of yours and especially Ash’s lives. I only just recently joined his roster in the full knowledge of what these actions insinuated. Ash here is now responsible for managing my sphere of control in my stead as the God of our universe, and I in turn became one of his most trustworthy legendary Pokemon, of course I am trusting you not to reveal the true nature of Ash’s importance and abilities although at this point some of humanity’s best and brightest may have already sussed that little detail out upon witnessing my presence here on the battlefield,’ Arceus explained in a rather lengthy anecdote as Ash bounced on the soles of his feet impatiently waiting for the lecture to end. Man was he really this impulsive and impatient when he was withdrawing from his omnipotent godhood? He knew that his deification had boundlessly highlighted all of his best traits but he didn’t realize that patience was a virtue people loved about him.
Amber blinked a couple of times while processing the enormity of Arceus’s statement as she realized he was basically apologizing and asking for her forgiveness for his lack of active involvement in her life. She simply smiled at him and chuckled in a good natured manner, “um no offense Arceus but I only just became aware of my supposed importance to the Omega Omnisphere and frankly I can’t really blame you when you weren’t responsible for the bad parts of my life anymore than you were the good. I did what I did, transcended my own personal childhood tragedies through the force of my own convictions.
I believe I also mentioned something similar to Omninoir when he and I were discussing things back at Sycamore’s lab. He also mentioned something about how Ash’s faith in me would be compromised when he found out, said I would lose him, and as strange as it sounded I didn’t want to believe it. I wanted to believe he’d give me the benefit of the doubt but I guess that was hoping for too much wasn’t it,” Amber spoke dispassionately, addressing only Arceus as both he and Ash appeared guilt ridden by her words.
‘I hadn’t intended for the two of you to be fighting each other from opposite sides or two peoples with opposing goals and ideals. But I guess the Omega Omnisphere has other plans for the two of you and I’ll just have to roll with the punches. As the humans say, hope for the best, prepare for the worst,’ Arceus informed them both like some kind of mediator or ambassador trying to bridge the gap between two opposing omnipotent forces. Ash couldn’t resist smiling at his Arceus’s continued omnibenevolence; he really was as altruistic, pure of heart, and incorruptible to the forces of darkness and chaos as any being in totality could ever possibly be. If someone had told him even two years ago that the God of all Pokemon would become such a monumental part of his team Ash would have laughed his ass off in their faces. Now though he couldn’t imagine fulfilling his destiny as a future Omega Omnisphere Pokemon Champion without Arceus’s infinite wisdom and ever-helpful guidance.
“Yeah well it happened, so if we’re quite through with all this chatting I would like to get back to our battle. Unless you’d rather let me go Ash,” Amber stated resolutely, her playful, flirtatious personality all but gone to be replaced by a far more serious version of herself. This was the kind of girl who possessed enormous power and knew it to, and who wasn’t afraid to use that power to achieve any ends of her own whether selfish or otherwise.
“You know I can’t do that Amber,” Ash tiredly said, knowing he had to do everything he could to bring her in if only to make her see sense at this point. Amber’s look as her eyes locked with his was riddled with intense feelings that Ash identified as frustration, irritation, and... desire?! That last emotion in her eyes took him by surprise and he was sure he was reading into it all wrong, but her next response quickly squashed the notion that he had mistaken the look. “Then come with me, God knows that’s what we both want; or I guess only part of what you want,” Amber pointed out as though it were the most obvious thing in the world.
Mixed reactions spread out amongst Ash’s friends as Amber so passionately asked for their friend and comrade to fly away with her straight into the jaws of the enemy. Weird part was that Ash looked like he was almost considering it; though if Brock knew his old friend like he thought he did then Ash would’ve gone away with anyone if only to try and talk some sense into them and convince them to come back with him and do the right thing. Bonnie couldn’t believe that Ash would consider this but hoped it would help this poor girl who trusted in the wrong people come to her senses. Clemont meanwhile adopted a more cynical approach and opted not to trust her at all; figuring if she double crossed them once she could just as easily do so again. All and all they all seemed to realize that Ash was considering Amber’s offer.
“I’m sorry Amber but I can’t do that either, I think we both know how this is going to end,” Ash politely declined at long last, ending the torturous long wait as Amber let go of a breath she didn’t even know she was holding and glared at him. “Fine, then let’s settle this the old fashioned way. If you win I leave with you and defect from Team Flare, but if I win you leave with me to join Team Flare. Instead of trying to offer each other these so called opportunities to run away from the lives we knew with each other; I propose we let fate or even the Omega Omnisphere decide what we do next. I can’t see why you’d object, after all an Omega Omnisphere champion with the all-powerful Original One on his Pokemon roster ought to be a formidable foe,” Amber proposed in as enticing and seductive a voice as she could possibly manage, hoping beyond hope that he’d at least accept these terms.
Ash didn’t even hesitate, “you’re on; we’ll let the unbiased unconscious omnipotence of the Omega Omnisphere determine what we choose to do. So have at her Amber, your move,” Ash challenged as Amber gave him a determined look that conveyed her deep desire to win this match and more importantly to win Ash over to her side. Yveltal let out a deep primordial roar that shook the city at the core, and Amber gave her next attack strategy. “Alright, try a full powered Phantom Force attack,” she ordered as Yveltal nodded and vanished in a black void of infinite ghostly energy. Ash ordered a counterattack from Arceus immediately, knowing that Arceus’s Omni Typing rendered it almost totally unbeatable by his fundamental nature but not about to underestimate a fellow Pokemon member of the Omnipotence Nexus.
“Counter with Omni Force,” Ash commanded, feeling a little awkward about giving Arceus battle commands when Arceus was the God of the entire 1 Millionth Pokemon universe and probably understood UV battling mechanics better than his trainer did. But just as he did when he battled Ash’s unlimited Kyurem on his trainer’s behalf to save the whole Unova region; Arceus obeyed him flawlessly as he too vanished into the very darkness itself and the Omega Omnisphere went a few shades blacker all around them in response to Arceus’s potentially omnipotent attack.
“Omni Force, what the hell is that?” Amber wondered; spooked by the fact that the entire world had gone dark all around them. Even the lights of Lumiose city and the sun itself were almost completely swallowed up by the darkness as Ash repressed a grin. The difference between an attack like this and something like Omninoir would pull was that Arceus was channeling the powers of the Anti-Gods, Demonic Gods, spectral entities, and the powers of the deepest shadows but he didn’t become an instrument of them or some omnimalevolent presence. Like his Mega Giratina Arceus was capable of channeling the Anti-God and Primordial Darkness powers as well as being able to become a pure shadow type Pokemon the likes of which Team Cipher would be extremely envious of; but he was not enslaved by them. And that made him extremely formidable against any and all opponents whether agents of chaos or disciples of the light.
“Clemont why did that attack make the whole city go dark,” Bonnie wondered uneasily as both Arceus and Yveltal seemed to put off the inevitable by trying to stall out as long as they could and making the other attack in haste. Clemont shrugged, “I don’t know, but I’m sure Ash and Arceus know what they’re doing. I’m still wrapping my head around all of this myself to be honest so I haven’t the foggiest idea of what to expect,” he admitted as Brock decided to say his piece.
“Omni Force is Mega Giratina’s signature move. I’ve seen Ash use it before; in the Sinnoh League finals against Tobias. His fully trained Ditto transformed into a maximally powered Mega Giratina during their battle and then proceeded to pretty much stomp half his team, proving that Ash could beat him in a contest of legendary Pokemon even with a Pokemon that wasn’t strictly legendary. In the end though his Raichu and Sceptile worked together to clinch the match, my point is that Omni Force is the strongest ghost type move of all and has the ability to super effectively damage any and all Pokemon types including normal types, which should be impossible but I guess immunities are bypassed with that sort of move. It definitely lives up to its name of Omni Force,” Brock informed them as the world continued to grow slowly and inexorably darker the longer Arceus dragged out his attack. He was pleased to note he could give a lecture almost as profound as Ash’s tended to get at times and that was due to years of listening to the man speak and studying his training methods among other things to help further his own career as a breeder and now a Pokemon Doctor.
Amber and Yveltal were both getting impatient and steadily more spooked by the impenetrable darkness growing ever thicker around them. She briefly wondered if Arceus’s Omni Force technique included some form of omnipresent attack and was horrified when she realized she got it right. Yveltal had rematerialized as though forced to by an external presence and shrieked in pain like a wailing banshee as Arceus’s attack landed from all sides. Countless blades of pure dark matter and energy sliced into it with enough power to rip a hole in the fabric of the Omega Omnisphere with Yveltal’s body. The near omnipotent primal legendary gave an agonizing roar of pure devastation that made the earth tremble and the subatomic omniverse all around them crackle and combust with fire, light, and heat.
As if that wasn’t bad enough, but Arceus himself had reappeared from the blackness and slammed into Yveltal full force while exuding a horrifyingly strong ghostly aura, one that transcended the type matchup system for super effective damage against all Pokemon types in totality. Yveltal’s responding shriek of pain was ear splitting and Ash covered his ears as the world around them brightened once more and Arceus awaited his trainer’s next order. He didn’t have to wait long since Ash already had an order waiting on the tip of his tongue just as Yveltal recovered and both Amber and Ash shouted their respective battle commands in perfect harmony.
“Oblivion Wing/Judgement,” and with that both Pokemon fired their respective attacks. Arceus concentrated a massive orb of golden light atop his head. Countless streams of pure infinite energy streaked towards Yveltal from that orb yet the ball itself never got any smaller and continued to fire an endless barrage of yellowish lights towards the intended target. At the same time Yveltal soared higher up into the air with a flap of his almighty wings, the single flap exerting enough wind pressure to put a F5 tornado to shame yet thanks to Arceus’s totality preservation abilities in place nothing in the city was damaged. The people of Lumiose City were highly discombobulated by the fact that nothing on earth was sustaining in any damage in the fight aside from the two warring combatants, but slowly they came around and started cheering for the strange young man who saved them from that monster; many of them even knew his name. As Yveltal flew up a few stories higher he fired off a colossal red arc of death that carried with it the power to siphon infinite amounts of energy from Yveltal’s opponents and drain their life force completely dry.
Yveltal’s Oblivion Wing attack met several of Arceus’s never-ending shots of lot in a mini omni-nova of condensed heat and energy infinite hotter than the Planck temperature, one that shook the entire world with enough force to shake it apart under normal conditions yet all it did right now was knock everybody on the planet off balance. The collision of unstoppable forces resulted in a tear in the Omega Omnisphere that was closed right back up a second after the colliding attacks faded by one of Arceus’s other shots of light which immediately patched the hole in reality.
Amber meanwhile had another command waiting just as the Judgement attack jetted towards Yveltal at insane velocities and in never-ending streams, the world slowing down around her as she started observing the fight from an inhumanly fast perspective and her powers started self manifesting. “Yveltal meet the attack head on and slam into Arceus full force, use all your speed and power and send the Original One packing,” she commanded. She was getting so into the fight now and couldn’t stop the squeal of excitement that left her mouth as the judgement closed in and Yveltal vanished in a whirl of invariant speeds. Amber’s mind reeled with shock upon realizing that not only was she somehow aware of how fast her Yveltal was flying but could even follow his infinitely rapid movements as he phased right through Arceus’s Judgement and flew after him just as the Alpha Pokemon took off flying at the same exact invariant speeds as Amber’s signature legendary.
Ash could no longer follow invariant speed movements or anything lesser than that beyond the human realm of perception anymore, and he was growing increasingly frustrated by this. While he did enjoy the fact that he was human again the fact is he was missing out on a great opportunity to really be aware of what was going on in the match, to see the fight through Arceus’s eyes via their unbreakable omnipathic bond which had also been taken away when Dialga had been possessed. All in all though he knew Arceus would somehow hear his commands even while hitting the Invariant Speed Barrier and zooming about at infinite velocities so he decided to just do his best to steer Arceus to victory and not care about the fact that he couldn’t see what was happening.
“Yveltal activate your ability full force and try to drain Arceus of his powers,” Amber commanded as Ash contemplated the idea of invoking the omnipotence paradox to invalidate Yveltal’s supremacy and severe his connection to the ON right off the bat for even daring to try and attack Arceus in such a manner. He remembered that the omnipotence paradox would also kill Amber’s Yveltal however and opted not to try it, for it went against everything he stood for especially since it was a Pokemon he was killing and not a person. Arceus wasn’t tapped into his full omnipotence right now though it would self manifest the instant a fully all-powerful being tried attacking him, enabling him to invoke the paradox instantly and destroy his would-be attacker, a stroke of genius if Ash said so himself. Similarly Amber’s Yveltal had certain limitations that he created for himself and which reduced the risk of invoking the paradox with every attack he made against Arceus or vice versa.
Arceus’s omnipresent roars of pain could be heard throughout the entire Ultra-Verse as Yveltal’s ability kicked in full force and caused him perpetual infinite damage and pain. Ash could see that the people of Lumiose City were affected by it to and that they were all rooting for him. It warmed his heart to see so many people standing at the edge of Centrico Plaza and cheering him on, and he paused for a moment as he took his backpack and opened it. He focused on the item he wanted as he realized he had forgotten to put it on during this battle, and was swept away in a maelstrom of positive emotions when a silky smooth pink ribbon was drawn out of his packsack and he closed his fist around it as he resumed carrying his pack on his back.
The whole time he had been paying attention to the fight and commanded Arceus to fire off an omni type thunderbolt, an ability only omni type Pokemon like Arceus in his ascension form possessed. Because while Omni Type Pokemon were compatible with all Pokemon moves in existence they could also add the Omni Type attribute to each and every one of their attacks enabling them to super effectively damage anything with any attack; including but not limited to ground types with electric type attacks, dark types with psychic type attack, ghost with normal, normal with ghost, etc. Omni Type Pokemon were able to use Omni Type attacks to bypass any and all type immunities, weaknesses, and resistances against any and all singular or dualistic Pokemon types; for those very reasons Omni Type Pokemon were considered to be absurdly naturally overpowered even if they weren’t somehow omnipotent godlike legends like Arceus.
The entire world around them lit up in a flash of multicolored lightning as countless streaks ionized the air and the subatomic omniverse all around them with an overwhelming static discharge. Ash meanwhile tied his favorite keepsake from all his journeys around his wrist in a simple yet elegant bow; a testament to his endless loyalty towards the memory of his closest childhood friend and the little girl who had stolen his heart. It was kind of sappy and cliché but honestly Serena Yvonee had been the love of Ash Ketchum’s life since before he even knew what romantic love was. Now here he was, fighting against his fellow Omega Omnisphere champion with the very same ribbon that she had given him all those years ago, the one that wrapped around that silly straw hat of hers; the one that had personalized her.
‘True friendship never dies,’ he reiterated fondly in his head even as the world was outlined in a kaleidoscope of endless colors all around him. Of course back when he had said that to her he had been well aware of the fact that he wanted more than friendship from her someday, but he was willing to take what he could get from her at the time just so long as she came back to him someday. Excitement pumped through his veins like never before upon understanding that he was not only battling someone in the same impossible league as him but that Serena was close by. Even without powers he could still somehow feel her presence, almost as if the EST had bonded them together forever right from the moment they met. It wasn’t the obligate symbiosis one attributed to a soul bond; he could technically survive without her if the need was great enough, but his life just felt infinitely brighter and happier when she was around.
The citywide lightning storm faded all around just as Arceus and Yveltal rematerialized from their imperceptibly fast state, the both of them recovering faster than they could injure each other just as Yveltal fired an Oblivion Wing to meet the Alpha Pokemon’s rainbow colored Hyper Beam, the connecting point of the attacks hotter than a Kugelblitz and brighter than a transfinite number of quasars, forcing everyone in the vicinity to shield their eyes as Ash realized this was going nowhere fast and that he would need to weaken Yveltal’s defenses somehow as an idea came to him. “Arceus, full powered combination Gastro Acid and Horn Drill attack,” Ash commanded, knowing that a full powered OHKO attack was an OHKO attack regardless of how powerful an enemy Pokemon was. And Gastro Acid was for dealing with that pesky totality consumption ability, so hopefully it worked.
Ash knew that using the Sheer Cold attack at lower than the absolute zero temperature was a feat only logic manipulation or absurdly powerful omni physics manipulators could pull off and both abilities could potentially break reality. So even though it was the best OHKO attack for dealing with flying types like Yveltal, Ash knew it was risky to use it at its potentially infinitely cold capacity. Plus even absolute zero was not likely to have the same effect on a godlike legendary like Yveltal as it does on other level infinity Pokemon, though the ONKO effect was essentially just part of the magic of ONKO moves the absolute zero aspect of it was also a contributing factor. Ash just didn’t have any idea what the fuck would happen if he and Arceus went colder than absolute zero and he wasn’t keen on finding out. An almighty freeze wasn’t the same thing as an almighty blaze, because while absolute zero could flash freeze almost all existing forms of matter and energy on a subatomic level, an almighty freeze could theoretically flash freeze... anything; be it omniversal matter and energy, abstract concepts and forces such as time, and possibly even omnipotent beings themselves.
Ash was dragged out of his reverie as Arceus belched up a massive wave of gastric acid that washed over Yveltal like a mini tsunami and canceled out his ability instantly, cutting off the stream of power that was leaking from Arceus into the Yveltal’s own body. At the same time an oversized perpetually rotating horn of pure energy appeared on Arceus’s head like a jousting lance. The lance rotated at infinite velocities so to Ash with his lack of superpowers it didn’t look like it was moving at all except for the blurred image of the horn as it vibrated at the natural frequency of the Omega Omnisphere, and possessed the uncanny power to phase through anything, to breach the unbreachable, penetrate the impenetrable, etc.
Ash watched in awe as Arceus ran off towards Yveltal with the menacing horn aimed at the massive destruction Pokemon’s chest, galloping towards his adversary at a superluminal pace. What happened next happened faster than Ash could’ve followed, and he was surprised when Amber screamed out for Yveltal to dodge just as Arceus ran off towards it. Realizing she could follow their movements when he couldn’t, the Pallet Town prodigy quirked an eyebrow as Yveltal flew off and swept towards Amber as though it were going to eat her.
Ash was surprised when the legendary flying type grabbed Amber and hoisted her up onto his back, Arceus stopping his attack in his tracks to keep from striking down his own champion. “Sorry Ash but I’ve got to cut this battle short, Yveltal just received a message from Lysandre and relayed it to me. We’ll pick this up another time I swear, but in the meantime duty calls,” Amber called down to him as Yveltal prepared to teleport them away at a moment’s notice and Ash’s second eyebrow raised to match the first one.
“You’re kidding me, you’re leaving in the middle of a duel?!” Ash demanded somewhat contemptuously, unable to believe what he was hearing but especially that Amber was going back to Lysandre. “I promise you we will settle our rivalry in due time but Ash please understand that I have every intention of honoring my promise to you should you manage to beat me in the future. I would never back out of our agreement I just need to you to understand that the Omega Omnisphere can decide our fate at any time, so I guess you’ll just have to let me go for now,” Amber stated aloud so that Ash and all of his friends could hear her. Ash exchanged a nervous glance with Arceus who nodded encouragingly, and Ash turned back to Amber while smiling up at her.
“Alright Amber, I’ll revoke my initial judgement of your crimes as ‘under duress’ and give you a reprieve, but on one condition,” Ash said, adopting a much more serious face as Amber patiently listened; overjoyed at the prospect that Ash was basically pardoning her of all the crimes she’d allegedly committed. “I’m listening,” she said interestedly, a dazzling smile on her face that took the strength of Ash’s composure to its limits. “I want you to promise me something Amber; that if I am right about everything involving Lysandre despite what you believe, that you choose to do the right thing in the end and defect from Team Flare. Promise me that Amber, because honestly I do care what happens to you and I truly believe you are a good person. But I also believe you’re in deep with a very dangerous crowd. I’m not saying that Lysandre doesn’t deserve a second chance and believe me it goes against everything I stand for to give him a temporary reprieve as well, but I need you to promise me that when push comes to shove you’ll do the right thing,” Ash concluded his proposal as Amber nodded without hesitation.
“Ash Ketchum, you have got yourself a deal, I promise you won’t regret it,” she said with pure, over-saturated joy, her amber eyes shining; her grin stretching from ear to ear as all of Ash’s friends listened to their conversation with uncomprehending ears. All of them were simply baffled how Ash could be so composed and in control of the situation, how he could go from feeling the sting of betrayal to pretty much pardoning Amber of all her crimes. Exactly how had things turned out this way? That was a question none of them had the answer to as Ash nodded.
“See that I don’t, anyways I suppose you best be off; there was no loss of life today Amber and considering you had nothing to do with Garchomp’s possession and that your only offense was against me and Froakie indirectly, I’m willing to let it slide. Understand though Amber that had your actions been a direct offense against anyone else I would’ve been required to do everything in my power to take you in. I will however ask you to wait one more minute, because I need to run this by my friends who were also present during the attempted capture of my Raichu,” Ash held his finger up to her in a one minute gesture as he turned to face each of his companions both old and new in turn.
“Guys what do you think? Am I making the right decision here,” Ash asked them all at once as Brock was the first to respond. “Ash you’ve been the smartest and most intuitive person I’ve ever known among other things and if you think she won’t make you regret your decision than I fully support you,” Brock smiled at him, and Ash smiled back as he made his way to Clemont next who glared up at Amber rather in a distrusting manner. “I still don’t trust her Ash, but I trust you enough to respect your decision,” Clemont promised him, managing a grin as Ash nodded and went to Bonnie last. Bonnie’s opinion was what he considered to be the really important one, because she had personally witnessed a Team Flare admin rape and slaughter her own mother right in front of her and had the most reasons to hate everything the organization stood for.
Bonnie’s expression was unreadable as Ash knelt down to her eye level and gave her the most encouraging smile he could manage. “Bonnie if you truly feel that what I am doing is not right then I will do everything in my power to proceed with Amber’s incarceration and with Arceus by my side I think I could succeed if I really had to. You don’t have to forgive Team Flare but I am hoping you won’t hold this young woman responsible for all of the crimes of her team and especially its predecessors, so I have a question for you Bonnie. Do you trust me,” Ash asked her with profound sincerity. Amber looked on nervously while Bonnie’s unreadable gaze shifted over to her and Arceus remained on standby just in case she deemed it necessary for him and Ash to proceed with Amber’s capture.
Then unexpectedly, Bonnie broke out into a warm smile that she directed at Amber. “Team Flare admin or not you seem like a decent person Amber and if Ash is willing to let you go then I am to; besides you helped save the whole city from that monster and probably the whole world to and that has got to count for something,” Bonnie said at long last causing both Ash and Amber to sigh in relief for different reasons. Amber because she wouldn’t have to face Ash’s Arceus again in an effort to escape and Ash because he wouldn’t have to go above and beyond what he already had done with Arceus in order to cut off her escape. Truthfully Ash was exhausted and just wanted this day to end, being human again also made him able to feel fatigue and other human afflictions once more and right now he welcomed the idea of a cool pillow and a nice bed in the Centrico Plaza Pokemon Center. First things first though, he had some loose ends to tie up.
“Well Sycamore, I take it you heard all that right,” Ash said as the esteemed Professor nodded and smiled at all of them. “Your father would be very proud of the person you’ve become Ash and not just because of your capabilities as a trainer but also your willingness to listen to all sides of the story both objectively and subjectively. In time you will make a fantastic champion of the world and I couldn’t be happier to have you here in Kalos. Also Amber, I implore you to consider what Ash has said to you; Lysandre was an old friend of mine and well I agree that he was right about some things concerning the state of the world his methods for achieving his ideal world were misshapen and horrid. What I really wanted was for him to put his ego aside and work together with the world not apart from it, but since we never had this conversation I reckon I am partially to blame.
Fact is everybody in Team Flare chose only themselves and everybody outside of Team Flare chose everybody but them, but since our respective situations forced our hands you can’t really say that either side was entirely right or wrong. Sometimes in such situations it is best to meet halfway, just try and remember that and what Ash has already said,” Sycamore said sagely as Amber nodded mutely and Ash marveled at the Professor’s surprisingly profound statement, wondering if he could somehow apply it to his impending war with Omninoir.
Turning his attention back to Amber Ash couldn’t stop grinning for some reason as she addressed him one last time. “We could’ve been absolutely fantastic together you know,” Amber teasingly suggested as Ash smirked. “Amber, Amber, Amber, we already were,” he retaliated with a tsk as Yveltal quickly sealed them in a bubble and extended it out to Ash. Amber jumped down from her mount and walked towards him within the safety of the impenetrable bubble Yveltal sealed them in. As Ash looked back to Arceus to give him the silent word to stop them in case they tried to whisk him away with them, the Pallet Town trainer was surprised when Arceus wore the most imperceptible of smirks. His attention was brought back to Amber as she grabbed his face in her hands and brought him into a deep, lively Kalosian kiss before anybody could even register what was going on.
Their tongues met in a fierce battle for dominance and all of Ash’s objectivity melted away in a fireworks display of ecstasy; his entire body both overheated with wanton desire and shivering with chilling delight as his friends looked on with interest. Clemont could only wonder why Ash wasn’t stopping her and then proceeded to wonder if they had done some kissing like this before when they were alone together, because while it was clear that Ash had harbored some kind of attraction towards her he didn’t seem like the kind of guy who would act on those feelings so fast. He wouldn’t deny that Amber was good looking but traitorous double-crossers weren’t his type; he genuinely respected Ash for being able to take her betrayal so well because in his position Clemont probably would’ve had her executed or something equally harsh. He didn’t take betrayal well and he certainly didn’t condone the idea of lying or double-crossing people you acted as a friend towards.
Brock meanwhile was weeping inside; Ash had always been the one who got the girls, even if he only ever showed interest in one they had been practically flocking to him by the bloody droves since day one. Misty, May, and Dawn were the most commonly present girls with crushes on him but there had been so many. Honestly Brock didn’t know if he should be envious of Ash’s situation or sympathetic of the fact that he was only ever in love with one girl and could never seem to find her no matter how much he reached out, or made himself and his dedication to her known all across the world in every tournament he participated in. Serena was one helluva lucky girl though now it seemed like Amber may have peaked Ash’s interests despite his convictions. How long would it last, Brock didn’t know, but he did know this was the first time he had seen a girl kissing Ash where he returned the embrace with equal fervor.
Bonnie on the other hand was open mouthed smiling with a light gasp of delighted surprise, having wondered if she would have to start searching for a keeper for Ash to but quite impressed when Ash managed to attract such an obviously exceptional female to him all on his own. The two of them went well together from her point of view, even if they were basically friendly adversaries or something like that Ash and Amber’s chemistry was pretty much palpable and Bonnie could feel it physically releasing off of them as they shared in their passionate embrace without a care in the world.
Back to Ash, the future Omega Omnisphere Champ didn’t know how much more of this he could take as Amber pressed her very well endowed assets up against him. Her chest was pressed against his, and she wrapped both her off-white colored legs around his waist as she enveloped him in a full body embrace, causing his heart to beat a mile a minute and for all the different kinds of pleasurable feelings one could feel to resonate through his entire body all at once. Quickly disentangling himself from her despite her cute pout; Ash pulled away before this could get anymore inappropriate for his friends’ prying eyes and took a moment to catch his breath and regain his higher cognitive functions such as speech or rational thought. Fuck that girl knew how to drive him crazy; this out of control feeling was like a wild roller coaster ride straight from one of the scariest, most thrilling amusement park experience in the whole entire Omega Omnisphere.
Yet at the same time it was a welcome feeling, and the out of control adrenaline pumping sensation was part of the fun. For the record there was an amusement park in the UV that stretched across infinite realities and with roller coasters that zoomed about at the invariant speed, plummeting from endlessly high heights straight down into the lowest depths of the Omega Omnisphere. Ash had always wanted to go ever since gaining his powers, but alas the theme park was deemed much too scary for mere mortals and Ash never had a plus one to go with until now. It would be an interesting romantic attraction for male and female members of the Omnipotence Nexus, but Ash was digressing now as he finally regained his brain’s frontal lobe functions and spoke to Amber.
“Um, you’d best be on your way now Amber. I mean I’m sure Lysandre needs you and all that and frankly it’s been a really long day. Thanks for your help dealing with Omninoir and I guess I’ll see you around,” Ash smiled at her, his exhaustion temporarily put at bay by the insane amounts of testosterone, adrenaline, and other brain chemicals running through his body due to the insane make-out session he had just shared with this amazing girl he met quite by chance. Perhaps it was luck, or even the whims of the Omega Omnisphere, or some equally abstract and supreme force of nature. He believed wholeheartedly in all of these things and as an omnipotent being he even had the ability of meta luck enabling him to perfectly succeed in all of his endeavors; unless of course said endeavors included the beyond miraculous eradication of an omnimalevolent aspect of the ON such as Omninoir. There were of course certain parameters, certain limits to what an omnipotent being could do; and killing another member of the ON without any extensive effort was impossible and any attempts to do so without care would instantly result in the omnipotence paradox.
Amber nodded and got back up on her mount Yveltal, who with a loud shrieking roar was gone with his trainer in a feat of Omega Omnisphere displacement; the power of meta teleportation availing them flawlessly and just like that they were gone. Ash sunk to the ground in pure exhaustion and relief, relief that this day could finally end as Arceus smiled down upon him with pride as he and Ash’s friends approached him. ‘You have done well my Chosen One; you may rest now Ash for today’s events are finally over,’ Arceus promised him reassuringly as Ash quirked an eyebrow at him and Bonnie, Clemont, and Sycamore only just seemed to fully register that Arceus was standing right there beside them as they all gaped at him and the gentle thrums of omnipotent powers the sublime figure of legend before them gave off. Bonnie found him a little intimidating in all honesty, but Brock seemed very relaxed about the whole situation and probably had years to acclimatize to Ash’s absurd trainer standards and capabilities. She and Clemont meanwhile were shell shocked, and Sycamore wasn’t faring much better and struggled to keep his professional curiosity in check as Ash’s voice rang out.
“You and I still have things to discuss Arceus because it is clear you’ve kept a lot of things hidden from me. Plus I still have to deal with the aftermath and whoever that alternate version of Serena was and what her connection to Ash Infinity could be. Truth is, it may be the end of one day but there is still so much I don’t know, and I hate not knowing things,” Ash admitted as everybody listened to his rant including Arceus.
‘Oh trust me I know we have some things to talk about, but alas now is the time for rest. All of you have done well this day and I am not just talking about Ash. Brock, Bonnie, Clemont, and Sycamore, all of you have key parts to play in my Chosen One’s destiny here in Kalos and all of you will play a vital role in the coming days as Omninoir 1 Million nears the height of his power and the mastery of the omnipotent forces he wields. I would tell you all that I know and what I have foreseen but it is dangerous for us to know too much about our futures. If just any regular person knows their future it becomes a fixed point in time, but if an Omega Omnisphere Champion or any of their comrades and friends is made completely aware of the omni-dimensional continuum then any version of their future whether good or bad could become eternally fixed in totality itself, making it impossible to avert. So long as we all know very little about the coming days and what it holds in store for us personally then our futures will remain in flux but keep in mind that my lack of spoilers was out of necessity Ash,’ Arceus explained as Ash sighed in frustration and the others gazed at Arceus in utter befuddlement. Even Sycamore whom many in Kalos heralded as brilliant couldn’t seem to grasp the concept of Omega Omnisphere mechanics and the only set of laws totality’s mightiest abided by.
“I understand that Arceus, really I do, but you’ve kept so much from me and I’m not sure if I can just let everything you didn’t tell me about slide this time. You are right however and I do need time to collect myself; we’ll pick this up in the morning. So what do you say guys, want to spend the night at the Pokemon center because frankly I’m famished and could do with some shut-eye as well,” Ash suggested as Sycamore decided to propose an alternative suggestion. “How’s about you all spend the night at my lab, it’s bigger, more hospitable, and has more things you can do than the Pokemon Centers in Lumiose city; and thanks to your Dialga and Palkia it’s all repaired now to I reckon, which reminds me that I should thank you for that as well Ash. I do have a favor I want to ask you though, there are three newbie trainers I’ve agreed to sponsor and I would like you guys to meet with them if that’s okay, maybe give them an idea of the kinds of trainers they can be if they work hard enough at it like you and Brock did Ash,” Sycamore said with a rather suspiciously knowing smile. Ash agreed right away due more to curiosity than exhaustion as he wondered what the Professor could be hiding from them or what could be so special about these particular up and coming Pokemon trainers.
“No thanks required professor, and I’d be glad to help you out with educating these youngsters. So what are we waiting for, all for one and one for... aw man; it really does suck that you guys don’t understand that reference or have the Three Musketeers in this universe,” Ash chortled jokingly as everyone stared at him in mild surprise. They understood now that Ash’s awareness seemed to stretch beyond the borders of the Pokemon World and each of them wondered in their minds which world Ash had been referring to when he mentioned the Three Musketeers or whatever they were called. Just as Ash got up to lead the way back to Sycamore’s lab a soft, sticky adhesive-like substance struck him in the face, knocking him ass over teakettle onto the asphalt before almost immediately melting off of him; not enough to make a God-Awful mess thankfully but enough to get his attention as Ash noticed Froakie staring up at him expectantly with a Pokeball waiting in front of him.
Rolling the Pokeball towards him on the white cement, Froakie croaked twice in his own variation of Pokespeech and Arceus quickly translated it before returning himself to his own Master Ball. ‘He says he was watching the battle from a safe distance and he wants to go with you so you can make him as strong as Raichu FYI, I reckon after everything you’ve done you may have won him over,’ Arceus informed them all as Froakie nodded in affirmation before Ash could even ask if that was true. Touched beyond measure that the ever stubborn Froakie, the same Froakie who abandoned his trainers when he didn’t think they were good enough for him; had chosen him, Ash looked to Sycamore to see if that was okay and was rewarded with a smile and a nod. Whooping with glee, Ash watched as Froakie pressed his nose against the front of the Pokeball and disappeared in a flash of red light, the Pokeball dinging to signify a successful capture without bouncing once.
“Alright, I just caught a Froakie,” Ash exclaimed in his trademark pose, relief flooding his veins upon realizing that Froakie seemed to be back to full health. He was even happier still when one of his Pokeballs popped open and released Raichu in a ball of white light, already fully conscious and perfectly recovered as he happily chirped and jumped up on Ash’s shoulder. Evidently the mouse could sense that the battle with Amber was over and that they could finally relax, and Ash scratched him behind the ear earning a contented coo from the fully trained electric type as all of Ash’s current roster took turns congratulating him as Arceus re-established their unbreakable telepathic bond with a glow of his eyes and Ash was relieved when all of them sounded mostly unshaken by today’s hectic events.
‘Awesome as always Ash, you never cease to amaze,’ his blue Mew piped up first, praising him with absolute fondness and reverence as Ash blushed and thanked Arceus for allowing him to understand Pokespeech and communicate with his Pokemon again; for that was the one ability he had that he truly cherished above all others except perhaps his omni-empathic connection to the EST. ‘I could have taken that girl and her Primal Yveltal but I’m proud of you to Ash, just make damn sure you let me hit something next time. I’m getting way too fired up in here,’ Groudon roared challengingly, accepting any and all battle challenges that came his way and eager to pick a fight with everything in the Omega Omnisphere.
‘I’m sorry Ash for what happened, I couldn’t control myself and I don’t know what thing was but...’ Dialga guiltily admitted as though he had been forced to commit omnicide to the entire UV’s population. ‘Nobody blames you Dialga; it would be harder for us to console you if you had been made to kill anyone but even then it wouldn’t be your fault. Just be glad that whoever rescued Ash and his friends was there to do the job when they were, otherwise this situation would’ve been even more fucked up. We had a couple of near misses today but we pulled through, without any loss of life for that matter; and while it may hurt we have to be prepared to accept the inevitability of casualties being made as this war drags on. Even so we all know you would never intentionally harm somebody like that, if you were not acting of your own free will then it is pointless to assign blame to yourself or allow anyone else to,’ Giratina sagely advised him as Palkia agreed and both Ash and Dialga got a boatload of praise and consolations.
“Don’t forget Dialga, you’re the one who saved us all from the singularity,” Ash commented aloud, startling everyone present as Brock chuckled at everybody’s reactions and proceeded to add his two cents worth as Bonnie directed a very good question at him. “Do you ever used to everything Ash and his Pokemon can do?” she idly wondered and Brock shook his head, his squinty eyes full of amusement. “Not really, Ash is the kind of person you never really get accustomed to; at the same time you never get tired of watching him kick butt. It’s kind of nice being back in the thick of things and traveling with Ash again to be honest, I’ve only just realized how much I missed this,” Brock admitted fondly as Bonnie and Clemont both smiled at the nostalgia in his eyes, wondering if they would look back on days like today and miss traveling with the likes of Ash.
“Anyways,” Ash said, interrupting their conversation as he looked towards Professor Sycamore who beamed at them. “Professor; would you like to lead us to your laboratory or should I have Alakazam teleport us? Usually I’m all for being the tortoise and not the hair but right now I’m not sure I can make the journey on foot,” Ash asked his opinion as Sycamore waved him off and brought out his Holo Caster. “You guys go on ahead, I’ll catch up. I just gotta make a call before I head back to the lab and I prefer to take this one in private,” Sycamore told them. Ash frowned in curiosity but shrugged and summoned his second starter Alakazam in a sphere of white light as the fully trained psychic type appeared, a perfect example of hi species both in terms of physical strength and mental, psychic, and energy based capabilities.
Even with the hexa perfect genome in his system training an Alakazam to have infinite physical strength was something Ash knew was insanely difficult. His father had trained this particular psychic type to the max but Ash had trained many Pokemon who were not naturally physically capable. Ghost types with Gaseous bodies like Ghastly or Gengar just straight up could not possess infinite raw physical strength no matter how perfect of an example they were; sure the energy levels of their physical attacks such as sucker punch or shadow sneak could be infinitely enhanced but their own physical raw strength was simply not something they could reach those levels with.
Their natural base powers just didn’t allow for that sort of enhancement. However Ash had trained his Ghastly from Maiden’s Peak into a Gengar who was level infinity in every possible way he could be. Hell in his mega evolved form he was a spectral entity of limitless godlike powers including illusory omnipotence where he became God within the illusions he trapped his opponents in. His powers of illusions were as limitless as the depth and magnitude of all his different special attacks, and Gengar had an extremely diverse move pool and was a hybrid psychic, ghost, and poison type all at once.
Dragging himself out of his incessant mental rambling, Ash took the time to quickly introduce Alakazam to all of his friends as Bonnie came straight up and introduced herself completely free of fear. “Hi there Alakazam, I’m Bonnie; my brother and I are new friends of Ash’s,” she introduced herself as Alakazam gave her a polite nod of acknowledgment but little else. Ash took a moment to elaborate, “Alakazam isn’t exactly the most sociable Pokemon, but he is extremely loyal and once you get to know him you realize he’s actually got quite a warped sense of humor; why I remember this one time where...” Ash was about to divulge a story when Alakazam’s eyes glowed a crimson red with psychic energy and he and all his friends were teleported away with a resounding pop of Quantum Entanglement.
Sycamore watched them all shout out in surprise as they were whisked away and chuckled to himself as he placed a call on his Holo Caster and awaited for the person he was calling to pick up on the other end. “Hi Serena, just wanted to let you know Ash and his friends are back at my lab now if you wanted to see them,” Sycamore didn’t let her talk and cut to the chase immediately, watching as her eyes lit up in pure joy. “Thanks professor, I’ll go see them right away,” she squealed in delight, the sound of Calem and Shauna squabbling over something in the background as Sycamore shook his head and ended the connection before opting to simply take the Lumiose Cab back to his lab. He smiled with glee as he set up his little surprise for Ash, and grinned like a madman when the crowd in Centrico Plaza started to disperse upon realizing that this crazy, insane day had finally been brought to its epic conclusion. Things could only get better from here, and he had this crazy notion that Ash’s world was about to get boundlessly brighter when he saw her walking through the door to his lab. Truly this was a beautiful ending to a very long, hectic, and stressful day; it had certainly been exciting enough but it brought Sycamore nothing but relief to know that the day had finally ended.
XXXXX
Serena ended the holographic chat with Sycamore, unable to contain her pent up joy and excitement as she realized this was it. Ash was literally at Sycamore’s lab just a few blocks away from her; and after a very illuminating conversation with her 9 by Infinity counterpart Serena had bared witness to Ash’s epic battle with Amber before watching him disappear with his friends via teleportation the same way she had. It is clear now that the dynamics between Ash and Amber had been based on lust and physical attraction as well as friendly rivalry, and that Ash had only just met her earlier today and wasn’t aware of her treachery until just recently. Serena wasn’t sure what to make of it or if Amber would present herself as competition to Serena but regardless the Vaniville Town girl was ready to pursue a relationship with him.
This was the day where she pulled out all the stops, where she stopped trying to deny her true feelings for Ash Ketchum; the most amazing person she’d ever known even despite meeting the greatest incarnation of herself there ever was just mere moments ago. It didn’t matter to her that Ash wasn’t the most important person in the Omega Omnisphere because he was the most important person in it to her, and that was all that mattered.
She still didn’t understand why Ash had let Amber go but opted to let it slide and trust his judgement for now; she just hoped he didn’t let her dissuade him with whatever chemistry existed between the two of them. Even from this distance Serena had seen the kiss they shared, and it was astonishingly passionate for a guy and a girl who literally just met that very same day. Even if they were only attracted to each other Serena still felt as though Amber could be considered a rival; she wasn’t about to hold it against Ash that he had dated other girls because she was guilty of the exact same thing, having dated Calem and even harbored a crush on Shauna of all people at one point.
It was when she had first realized she was crushing on her closest female friend that Serena realized she was bisexually curious at the very least and quite possibly even full blown bisexual. That had certainly come as a surprise to her when she found out but she wasn’t about to complain, because while she had crushes on both guys and girls before she realized now that Ash was the only person on this planet male or female who would be able to make her truly happy. It had been what ended her relationship with Calem, the realization they both had about her; that she couldn’t let go of Ash even though he was only a childhood crush or so she had believed. But perhaps Ash had meant more when he said true friendship never dies, perhaps he meant that true love never dies and frankly she had been in love with Ash since pretty much the day they met; she just didn’t understand the full magnitude of her feelings until much later.
Wasting no more time, Serena walked off without so much as a word spoken to Shauna and Calem who were still fighting over Arceus knows what, and speaking of Arceus said Alpha Pokemon was still floating along beside her in the halls throughout the Pokemon Center. She was transparent and invisible to all but her and her friends now, and her silence spoke volumes as Serena realized she was still seething at the spoiler her 9 by Infinity doppelganger made; about how she was destined to become one of Serena’s most trusted Pokemon partners. Arceus grumbled and muttered something about completely unnecessary spoilers and trying to create asinine fixed points in totality and other shit Serena didn’t understand and opted to block out for the moment as she focused on Ash. She also knew that Calem and Shauna would make up in their own time and catch up with her later, she had already said where she was going and they could always call her on her Holo Caster if they needed a reminder. Quite frankly Serena had a one track mind right now, and that one track mind was telling her to go and see Ash no matter what.
She knew it was still a considerable walk to the Pokemon center and was surprised when she exited it only to find a Lumiose Cab waiting outside for her and Sycamore ushering her inside of it to sit beside him. “Come on Serena hurry up, I’ve arranged this as a surprise for Ash and I’d like to get to my lab as quickly as possible,” Sycamore instructed her as he looked behind her for any sign of Calem and Shauna. “They’re having a lover’s spat back in their room, apparently they woke up in the same bed and are now accusing each other of getting fresh or something,” Serena groaned in annoyance, wondering why in the hell her double had deemed it necessary to transport them into the exact same bed; and in a highly erotic looking position no less. Calem slept with Shauna’s back pressed against his chest, her put against his groin, and his arms snaked over and under her respectively and dangling atop her breasts. Clearly her doppelganger knew they liked each other just as much as Serena did but that was a bit too much, and seeing her two closest Kalosian friends in such an erotic sleeping position made for a very awkward ten minutes as Serena waited for them to wake up with no memories of what transpired.
“Oh well just leave them to it then I guess, now come on already, Ash is going to flip out when he sees you,” Sycamore urged her excitedly, and Serena giggled at his enthusiasm and rolled her eyes before jumping in. She had barely put her seatbelt on when the car had already reached the speed limit in a record amount of time and was weaving through traffic cars and the more careless bike riders as the city started to go about their regular business as though nothing had even happened. Serena knew that wasn’t true though because so much more had happened than most people could even fathom, but she supposed that to the untrained mind Ash’s battle with Omninoir and with Amber in turn were just two epic battles shared between two sets of equally powerful trainers.
Omninoir had even had the look of a giant Mega Garchomp so one could pass that off as Ash dealing with an out of control rampaging legendary which was technically true and not so outside of the usual range for this planet, but Omninoir was a legendary entity like no other. He wasn’t just some rampaging creation trio member or an Arceus with a legitimate grudge against humanity; he wasn’t Mega Giratina whose totality manipulation powers kept the Reverse World and the human world in balance, nor was he Primal Yveltal who embodied destructive omnipotence and who helped protect the balance of nature on a cosmic scale. He was more vicious, more bloodthirsty than any of the mainstream legendary entities that governed the UV. Serena had learned a lot from her doppelganger in a very short amount of real time, and in truth her head was still reeling from all she had learned.
Most important among what they discussed was 9 by Infinity’s request, she had asked Serena to let Ash know of her presence here once their journey brought them to Route 7 where the Battle Chateau and her own battle facility was currently located. She had said it was where she wanted to discuss some things with her and Ash properly. She promised Serena she wasn’t interested in stealing Ash away from her and had her own boy problems to contend with in actuality, for which Serena was extremely thankful because she wasn’t sure she could handle any more competition especially not of her counterpart’s caliber. She wondered if her double had her own version of Ash whom she was in love with, but after learning about Ash Ketchum Infinity she had a pretty good idea whom Serena 9 by Infinity was going to go for.
She was surprised when the car had stopped moving and jumped with a start as Sycamore called out merrily. “We’re here, thank you Luis; here’s your cab fare for both Serena and I,” Sycamore stated, paying the cabbie out of pocket as he and Serena climbed out of the taxi while thanking the driver profusely. They watched him drive off into the busy intersections for a few seconds before Serena turned around to see that not only were they at Sycamore’s lab in record time but the lab itself had been instantly repaired by Ash’s creation trio members just same as all the rest of the city.
Heart banging in her chest at a million miles per second, Sycamore ushered her on through impatiently as she started trembling with both excitement and nervousness. This was it, this was where all her years of suffering in his absence and hating her mom for forcing her to move all became so worth it. In the end her love for Ash prevailed over all the seemingly insurmountable odds, over every single one of her other emotions; even over Omninoir himself. The absence didn’t make her grow apart from him at all; all it did was make her heart grow ever fonder of him. Time may have healed some of her emotional wounds but seeing Ash again would make all of the pain she endured completely worth, this reunion was going to be mythical in its own right.
Checking herself to make sure her hair was still neat and even smelling her breath among other things, Serena knew this was it as she pushed past Sycamore and opened the door at an agonizingly slow pace. She didn’t expect him to be right there in the entrance hall and was somewhat glad when she was right since it gave her time to collect herself. A hundred different emotions were clouding her thoughts all at once, limiting her ability to think rationally and causing her frontal lobes primary functions to all but shut down. A thousand different scenarios for how this might turn out played inside her head, and she was getting anxious enough to cause her palms to sweat. Arceus had long since caught up to their cab and was now floating invisibly behind them, her body partly through the front wall and above the door while her invisible rear end protruded through to the outside.
Despite the fact that she had an Arceus floating beside her Serena didn’t feel anymore special by Ash’s standards than she ever did especially since he had the Original Arceus of the universe on his own team. Putting her foot on the first step and making her way up to the second floor, Serena was surprised when she instead heard sounds of laughter coming from outside in Sycamore’s Pokemon ranch. Looking behind her towards Sycamore, his eyes lit up and he nodded at her encouragingly while indicating the back door on the wall nearest the flight of stairs.
Retracing her steps back down the first stair, Serena instead changed her direction and headed towards the backdoor she had been through many times before yet felt both terrified and thrilled to go through now. Her conflicting emotions were perfect contrasts to one another, the combined effort of their synergy enhancing each of their individual effects and the sum total of her personal emotional spectrum to create a highly emotional Serena all around. She didn’t know whether to feel angry, sad, scared, elated, or just so in love all at once; because frankly each of her different emotions was as intense as the next and all of them were equal right now. After a small, excruciating eternity she finally opened the door to the Ranch and was rewarded with a glorious sight indeed.
She could recognize Bonnie and Clemont in a crowd of thousands, their yellow-blonde hair and identical baby blue eyes their trademarks not to mention their unique styles of clothing. Bonnie was playing with what appeared to be an Alakazam who kept teleporting away every time she got close, or moved so fast he created afterimages of himself in an effort to confuse and dazzle the energetic little girl. Clemont was sitting in the perpetually green grass working up a sweat on some new invention of his. Serena’s eyes also took notice of the squinty eyed friend of Ash’s with chocolate colored skin who was working alongside Sophie in the lab and giving Sycamore’s Garchomp what appeared to be a very thorough checkup and some delicious looking Pokemon food.
Finally her eyes landed on the very person she sought, and her breath hitched and caught in her throat when she did just like the day when she first saw him, standing up on that podium back at Oak’s summer camp; though looking at him now she could instantly tell he wasn’t the cute little camper boy he had been back then. Even with his back turned to her while sitting down she could see how tall he had gotten, back when they were kids they had been the same height but now he was at least a good head taller than her. She was around five foot four but he had to be at least six and a half feet tall; not only that but his shoulders were broadened and he had taken his ranger’s jacket off revealing the very same tea shirt with that golden infinity symbol she had caught a glance of back on the Television. He looked better than she had ever seen him, taller and tanner, leaner and more muscular.
He was sitting cross-legged in what appeared to be some sort of meditative pose, and she seized this rare opportunity to catch him off guard as she started creeping up behind him. She was aware of both Bonnie and Clemont watching her as well as the other guy but put a finger to her lips to shush all of them and not give her away. Bonnie nodded obediently, an eager expression in her eyes as Brock frowned in confusion; evidently wondering who she was and why she was walking up behind Ash. Alakazam paused to stare at her as the probable cause of Bonnie’s sudden disinterest in him, his eyes widening in shock as though he somehow recognized her which lead Serena to believe he was Ash’s Pokemon. Ash must’ve have given his Pokemon a pretty vivid description of her if they were able to recognize her at a glance even after she had aged and matured ten years into a grown woman; a highly attractive grown woman who knew who wanted and was more willing now than she had ever been to fight for him, to make him hers.
Sensing what she was about to do, Alakazam smirked and resumed whatever it was he was doing; Bonnie chasing after him to keep up the appearance that Serena wasn’t there but keeping one eye on her and Ash at all times. Time seemed to stand completely still like when Serena 9 by Infinity froze totality itself in suspended animation with a snap of her fingers or a flick of her wrist or whatever. The world had stopped turning and seemed to consist only of Serena and Ash as she came right up behind him as he hummed while still meditating, completely oblivious to her presence as she wrapped her hands around his eyes from behind him and decided to play a little guessing game.
“Guess who mister Pokemon Master,” Serena cooed delightedly, reiterating her nickname for him with ten years of pent up fondness and reverence that she harbored for this boy. Granted it hadn’t been very clever but she was only seven at the time she made it up. She nearly squealed in ecstasy when he stiffened in response to her question and his perfect eyelashes fluttered behind her soft, smooth hands. She could literally feel the uncomprehending disbelief radiating off of him in palpable waves, her powers self manifesting in limited doses in order to properly process and register the inhumanly intense emotions she was currently feeling right now.
“Your voice is different, yet something about it remains largely unchanged. Perhaps it’s the fact that I have an eidetic memory, and that I’ve always compared your singing voice and every other voice you used with that of some angelic goddess. Maybe it was the way you spoke my old nickname you gave me; boundless wonder, mixed with a hint of concern on my behalf, yet with a sweet, adoring finish that makes me feel like I can walk on air, and redefine what’s possible and impossible. I can’t quite put my finger on it; but I’d know your voice anywhere, anytime, at any point in the whole of creation,” Ash whispered with such reverence and adoration that Serena felt like she would melt and didn’t even think to resist when he gently grabbed her hands with his own and removed them from his eyes.
Recovering instantly as he waited for her to make the next move, Serena manoeuvred around him and knelt directly in front of him; blue eyes meeting impossibly gold ones as Ash’s eyes lit up like a quasar and he gave her that big toothy grin of his that she had loved and missed so incredibly much. Seeing it again was like going back on her drugs after an agonizingly long withdrawal, and caused Serena’s feelings to ascend to a painfully intense level as she waited for him to say something else. She always loved hearing him rant or just talk about anything in general, and now here he was staring her right in the face and she knew quite certainly that she was the happiest she’d ever been.
“Long time no see straw hat girl,” Ash whispered in a dreamy tone, looking like he almost didn’t believe she was really here as he opened his arms to her and she fell into his embrace without a second’s delay. Warmth beyond anything she’d ever felt before pervaded her entire being as Ash wrapped her up in his muscular arms and pulled her directly into his lap, the two of them locked in an embrace that was ten fucking years in the making and not content with the idea of letting go anytime soon. It was too much though, no matter how hard or how long Serena squeezed him she just couldn’t get close enough to release all her emotions in one. She knew she needed more than just a hug from him, she needed so much more than that from him and she was hell bent on getting it one way or another but for now this would have to do as they both continued to hug and support each other’s uncontrollably quaking bodies.
“I missed you so much,” Serena managed through clenched teeth, her jaws locking with the amount of tension she felt as she tried to bite her emotional tautness away. She nuzzled and snuggled as deep and as close to him as she could, grinding and gyrating her hips against his pelvis without any awareness of her actions, grinding her whole body against him as tight as she physically could without hurting him too bad.
“I missed you to,” he gritted out, amazingly just as tense as she was as both clung impossibly tight to the other like their very lives depended on it. Maintaining her death grip on Ash, Serena managed to pull her head away from his chest after several moments of listening to his beating heart, reassuring herself that he was in fact alive and was real. He was momentarily stunned when she suddenly punched him in the chest, making him reel back and wheeze slightly at the unexpected contact.
“Ouch jeez, what was that for Rena,” Ash demanded somewhat indignantly, using another of her nicknames in his ire; only for him to stop mid-tirade as he got a good look at her expression and noticed the tears falling down her face. He immediately stopped upon seeing her heartbroken expression, legitimately considering it a crime of the Omega Omnisphere that anything sullies her perfect face. “What were you thinking going after Omninoir like that?! Do you have any idea how it made me feel watching you fight that monster, especially when I realized you couldn’t stop your descent straight into the pavement moments later! You’re bloody lucky you’re still alive you know that!” Serena exclaimed with a whimpering sniffle towards the end of her heartfelt admission as Ash immediately took her back into his arms and whispered soothing words and rubbed her back comfortingly like he knew she used to love when they were kids.
“I honestly thought you were going to die before I even got the chance to see you again. I’ve never felt so hurt in all of my life Ash and I wanted nothing more than to be there with you in your final moments. At least that way we could have died together, but no I was stuck in Vaniville town watching that horrific scene take place. If it hadn’t have been for my 9 by Infinity doppelganger,” Serena immediately stopped talking and pulled away from him and covered her mouth right up, unable to believe she had just given away her double’s identity to Ash before she was supposed to. 9 by Infinity told her and Arceus and she was the one who had rescued Ash and the others from that fall and restored Amber’s Yveltal’s godhood while chasing after whatever had possessed Ash’s Primal Dialga. She hadn’t been supposed to divulge that information to Ash yet, but she just got so caught up in her emotions that she just blurted it out loud. In truth she was more grateful to her counterpart than she could ever convey, and quite frankly Ash, Amber, and a whole lot of other people owed that girl their lives if even half of what she said to them was true. Serena honestly wasn’t even certain how she could live up to someone like that and all they’ve accomplished, but maybe if she just kept at it she might become half the Omega Omnisphere Champion that 9 by Infinity was.
“I’m sorry I made you worry Serena, I really, really am; I guess I’m grateful to your doppelganger to. Well that explains why Blaziken said our rescuer resembled you on some level, I knew it couldn’t be you because your powers only manifest when your life is in danger, or when the reason to manifest them is strong enough to you personally, such as today when I was falling to my apparent death,” Ash whispered lovingly as Serena nodded in agreement and fell straight back into his arms and resumed hugging him like he was her lifeline.
“I can’t believe how much things have changed in just one day, to think last night my only concern was confronting my mother and leaving on my journey to be a Pokemon Performer, now I find out I’m destined to be some Omega Omnisphere Champion like what you are now,” Serena grimly said, and Ash nodded and smiled in pleasure as he held Serena in his arms and pressed her up against his chest.
“You get used to it eventually I suppose, or as acclimatized as anyone can ever be in our situation. I’ve been on this path for just over a year Serena and I can say that while the dangers are absolute so are our ability with deal with them,” Ash promised her. Serena sighed in his embrace, knowing that she needed to hear him make light of this situation they were in. “Does this lifestyle ever have like a relaxed side to it, do we ever days off where we can just take it easy and rest, to love and laugh?” Serena inquired, legitimately concerned about the idea that every day could be as hectic as this one. If that was the case she honestly didn’t believe she could handle it, but to her relief Ash shook his head no.
“Yes it definitely does settle down at certain points, there were many days and evens weeks during my journey in Unova where I could just take a lazy day off and sort of ease into the role I was expected to play. Hell Serena today was the most hectic day I’ve had since I liberated Kyurem’s unlimited form from Team Plasma, and battled him alongside Arceus in order to calm him down and capture him, which I did by the way. My point is even on the days where it seems like we aren’t going to get through it all okay so long as we never give up the pathway to victory reveals itself. In the end we do face challenges equal to what we are currently and will be capable of in the future, as does anyone who is a member of the Omnipotence Nexus, but we’ll always have everything we need in order to emerge victorious so long as we never give up. It is the qualities of one’s convictions that determine success not the level of power one holds in the palm of their hands,” Ash advised her with as much wisdom and consolation as he could muster as Serena tightened her grip on him even harder.
“Oh God I’ve missed this, I’ve missed you so much Ash; and thank you for telling me all that. I know that we’re knee deep in situations that mere mortals just don’t understand, but so long as you’re with me from here on out I don’t care how impossible or inhuman the lives we lead will be I want to live them with you. It’s always been you Ash, no matter who else may have lurked in my future you have spoiled me for any other man because I... I...” Serena stuttered and tripped over those three impossibly beautiful and heartwarming words she wanted to say so desperately yet just couldn’t for some reason due to her nerves.
However, an encouraging smile from Ash was all the motivation she needed and she steeled herself. “I fucking love you God dammit, I don’t even know why I struggled to say that at first. I’m in love with you Ash Ketchum; I’ve been in love with you since the day we met, I have never stopped loving you all this time, and I will continue to love you unto the ends of the Omega Omnisphere itself and beyond, do you understand me,” Serena whispered with such reverence and adoration that Ash knew she meant every word and felt his heart soar into the highest heavens as both of them broke out in full body blushes. It was only now that Ash realized how close the two of them were and how close Serena’s breasts and other unmentionable body parts were to his own.
Struggling to control his arousal at her close proximity, Ash tried to let his mind wander as was perhaps his greatest superpower. Clearly Serena had learned of her destiny before Arceus intended her to this morning when she first had that dream, and a conversation she shouldn’t even remember but alas it looked as though Omninoir’s presence here had rendered Serena’s imminent destiny and godhood a necessity to the Omega Omnisphere. She had a lot to learn before she was truly ready to fulfill her destiny and Ash had a lot to teach her in a short amount of time. He also knew he needed to focus on getting gym badges because despite everything he still strived towards the world championship title his missing father prized. Something told him that the path to becoming a fully fledged Omega Omnisphere laid in defeating his old man hopefully once this war with Omninoir was over and he could battle just for fun like he used to in the good old days. Deciding his should say something to her declaration of lavished devotion and undying love towards him, Ash cleared his throat upon noticing how dry it was and how parched he had become.
“With you here I’m not in his situation alone anymore Serena; and I wouldn’t have it any other way. I love you to, believe me when I say my feelings for you are as infinite as my powers as a Pokemon trainer. Since the two of us are technically fixed points in totality and destined to live forever I’d say we’re going to have a lot of time to spend together so don’t believe for a second that we don’t have the capacity to survive unto these aforementioned ends you speak of,” Ash chuckled lightheartedly as they both locked eyes and Ash felt other pairs of eyes on the back of his head as he realized his friends were watching them both from afar but giving them some much needed space.
Smiling in ecstasy, Serena closed her eyes before finally doing the one thing she so desperately craved for as long as she could remember; she kissed Ash with everything she had and more. The Pallet Town wunderkind sat there in complete immobility as Serena’s soft, pliant, full pink lips made contact with his, and his brain proceeded to explode from the level of intoxication and overpowering pleasure he felt surging through every subatomic particle in his body. He lost himself completely in the lust, the heat, and the indescribable pleasure he felt as Serena leaned into him harder and pushed him down backwards into the grass with her laying on top of him; her lips never leaving him for a second as Ash forgot everything he knew and was enveloped in the sweetest, most blissful sensations he’d ever felt.
His entire body ached for her insatiably, longed for event her gentlest touches and sweetest caresses with an unquenchable thirst of desire. This wasn’t some cute, attractive girl he barely knew who got him horny and excited despite his convictions; this was the love of his life who so subtly reminded him of the immense difference between casual sex and making love, who was the only one who could take his pleasure and satisfaction to the ultimate level, to his infinite limits. This was euphoria in its purest, most omnipotent form; Serena was an almighty goddess and he was her transcendent angel, worshipping her body and soul as she enticed him away from everything and everyone else he had ever known. Even Amber hadn’t induced this level of intoxication or paralysis inside him.
She never pushed too hard, never went beyond the gentle touching of his lips with her own nor did she make haste to deepen the embrace. She simply kissed him with a closed mouth, almost as if inviting him in to make the first move or simply content with the way things were. Not that he would’ve tried to stop her from going further at this point, because right now she had absolute power over him. The Omega Omnisphere could’ve been blinked out of existence by a resurrected Zeneptron and he wouldn’t have cared, he wouldn’t have cared about anything except for the loving woman with a firm hold on his mouth. He would’ve given her anything and everything he had; all of his power, knowledge, and even his Pokemon just for her to never end the mind blanking kiss she bestowed to him.
Unfortunately for both of them the need for air eventually became too great and as all-consuming as the kiss had been it fortunately didn’t rob them of their survival instincts; though Ash was going to have to do something about that when he regained his powers and adjust them accordingly. They broke apart with great reluctance, staring into the endless emotional pools of the others eyes as Serena blushed and smiled shyly at him and he took a breath of air that paled in comparison to the taste of her lips yet was necessary for him to survive now that his powers were gone.
Both of them tried to find the words to accurately convey the amount of enjoyment and satisfaction they both got from that kiss. All that could come to Ash’s infinitely brilliant mind was “wow,” whereas Serena said something along the lines of “uh huh.” “My God Serena that was amazing! How long have you felt this way,” Ash wondered with curiosity. “Since the day we met, although I didn’t really realize what my feelings were until the day I... left,” Serena whispered, hesitating to say the last word as Ash brought her back into his arms for like the tenth time tonight. He could never get enough of holding her lithe, well endowed, curvaceous form in his arms; he couldn’t believe just how much his straw hat girl had grown up or that she turned out more beautiful than the older version of herself he imagined in his dreams. He often wondered how it would feel to hold her in an intimate way, to feel her lips on his own as they met for a passionate kiss as they did today. Well he didn’t have to wonder anymore, and the actual thing was so much better than the fantasy, times infinity.
Admittedly there had been a void inside him ever since Serena left, but now that she was back in his life and with him for better or worse he felt like he could finally start to put that horrible day behind him. “Serena you have nothing to be sorry for; if anything our absence has just made our hearts grow fonder of each other. These things happen for a reason and while some people might think we’re taking our reunion a little bit fast we could also argue that this is ten freaking years in the making. I’ve felt the same as you have for as long as you have, and believe me this reunion is just as joyous for me as it is for you.
I am just... so beyond words I can’t even cope, and trust me that is no easy feat because I’ve got infinite languages and an almighty lexicon at my disposal, although those particular abilities might have dissipated on some level as well now that I think about it,” Ash rambled in that seemingly smug manner that made him sound like he was every scientist’s dream. She knew he wasn’t actually arrogant or grandiose in slightest. That was just his speech pattern and the way he talked, and after getting to know him a little she knew he was actually surprisingly modest. His ability to prattle on about nothing had eventually grown to be endearing to her and became just one of the many countless things she loved about him.
Serena giggled while listening to his speech and her heart soared once again as he basically told her he was willing to go as far as she wanted into their newfound relationship since technically they’d been waiting for this for ten years. As much as she wanted to take Ash and make sweet love to him like her life depended on it, there were other people and Pokemon watching right now and she still hadn’t properly introduced herself to Ash’s human friend or his Pokemon yet. So for now she’d have to make do with cuddling and the occasional kissing session as she sat here in his lap more comfortably than she had any right to.
Sighing reluctantly when she realized she’d have to get up soon and acknowledge everybody else; Serena moved to get up and was pleasantly surprised when Ash stood up with his arm around her and lifted her up with him. She gave a squeal of delight as he picked her up and carried her in his arms bridal style with little to no effort as he made his way towards Brock, Alakazam, and the others including Raichu who had taken over playing with Bonnie as the younger girl stopped during a game of tag to see the pair of them making their way over.
“Hi you guys, sorry about the long wait I was just getting... reacquainted with my closest childhood friend,” Ash chuckled at the deliberate hesitation he made before the word reacquainted as Serena blushed to the roots of her hair. “Oh yeah we saw you two alright, kissing each other like there was no tomorrow,” Bonnie giggled at them teasingly as Clemont smiled and Brock gave Ash a thumb up. “Way to go buddy you finally found the one you’ve been searching for. I take it you’re Serena then; Ash has told me loads about you, the name’s Brock by the way,” Brock introduced himself stoically as he reached out a hand and Serena shook it in earnest.
“Nice to meet you Brock, and what exactly did he say about me,” Serena couldn’t help but wonder as she waggled her eyebrows at Ash teasingly. Brock burst out laughing, “oh nothing but good things I can assure you. The way he spoke of you, it was like you could walk on air. If you want to know what he said I suggest you go to the source and ask him yourself,” Brock smirked as Serena turned her attention towards the rather flustered looking Ash as everyone shared a good natured chuckle at his expense.
Bonnie decided that very moment to throw her arms around Serena before looking up at a girl she’d been friends with ever since she was little. “You remember me right,” Bonnie couldn’t help but ask in the cutest baby voice she could manage. Serena giggled and ruffled the 9 year old child’s hair a little, earning an indignant huff from the girl as Serena poked her tongue out at her. “Of course I remember you ya big goofball, how have you been Bonnie, man are you ever getting tall. And Clemont, great to see you to, been working hard as gym leader I’d imagine,” Serena exchanged pleasantries all around as Sycamore and Sophie watched them interact with kind smiles.
Just when Serena thought this day couldn’t get any better, it did; for the next moment she was approached by none other than two of Ash’s Pokemon namely his Alakazam and Raichu. “Hi guys, yep this is her, meet Serena Yvonne AKA straw hat girl AKA Rena, etc, etc,” Ash introduced, indicating his two starters as both of them peered at Serena curiously. Serena gave them a dazzling smile with closed eyes, “hi you two, nice to meet ya,” she greeted them kindly, causing both of them to blush as Raichu continued to stare at her with what appeared to be utter fascination. It was almost like he was trying to convince himself that she was real, like she was really here and with his trainer for the first time.
“Raichu, Rai, Rai,” he chirped, and with that he jumped right into Serena’s arms as she nearly toppled over from the unexpected weight as Ash’s electric type starter climbed to her shoulder and nuzzled her cheeks with squeals of delight. Serena felt blessed by the warm welcome Ash’s Pokemon were giving her and wondered exactly how much he had told them about her. If her welcome was this warm from just two of his Pokemon she wondered what all the rest of them would think, and surprisingly she found she cared a great deal about their opinion of her because their opinions were doubtlessly important to Ash.
She wanted them to think she was good enough for their trainer, and seeing and feeling just how strong and muscular Raichu’s body was for the first time, Serena wondered if she’d ever be the kind of trainer Ash is. She found herself hoping she’d be good enough for him in the long run, because she wasn’t keen on the idea of sharing him with anyone or letting him go anytime soon. She’d just got him back for Arceus’s sake, letting him go now was simply no longer an option and frankly she was done being afraid of her feelings and just plain done with her lack of self confidence. There was a reason she was meant for this Omega Omnisphere Championship mantle thing and if the Omega Omnisphere thought she was good enough well then that was good enough for her. Besides Ash seemed to think very highly of her and he had always been a great judge of character, so even if she couldn’t believe in herself just yet she was content to let him believe in her.
“Aw Ash he’s so cute, I love you to Raichu,” Serena gushed fondly as she took Raichu into her arms with a surprising level of strength and held him in one arm while petting along his back and tail with her other hand. She was surprised when he gave a squeal of delight as she reached his tail, and Ash explained to her that Raichu loved having his tail pat. Serena took note of this and proceeded to carry him in her arms as Ash stretched and yawned in pure exhaustion. “I don’t know about you guys but I’m exhausted and could do with a good night sleep, what do you say,” Ash suggested as Bonnie yawned a few seconds later and Clemont took the initiative.
“I’d better take Bonnie to bed now that you mention it Ash; it’s past 9 PM and my dad wouldn’t like it if I kept her up past her curfew,” Clemont commented and like the good older brother he was he took Bonnie’s half asleep form in his arms and guided her to the bedroom Sycamore had arranged for them. Brock meanwhile looked like he was still wide awake as he decided to let Ash know of his plans. “I think I’m going to cook something up for the Pokemon and myself and maybe you guys if you think you can stay up long enough Ash. I know you’re tired but think of how long it’s been since you and I used to swap kitchen duties. I bet you miss some of my cooking am I right,” Brock reminded him somewhat smugly as Ash smiled at the memories.
“Yeah we’ve had some crazy times eh,” Ash chuckled reminiscently as Serena wondered not for the first time just how much of Ash’s life and journey she had missed. She was overjoyed he not only remembered her but seemed to retain all of his best quirks from when they were kids, but the fact remained they had so much catching up to do and Serena hoped she’d be able to create just as many fond memories with Ash as he had no doubt gained from years of being on the road with Brock, and however many other friends he had traveled with or encountered on his still ongoing journey. “The craziest, hey Serena did you know this guy over here,” Brock said, pointing at Ash as Ash blushed profusely at both of their gazes. “Was involved in over a dozen end-of-the-world scenarios concerning legendary Pokemon, Ash has saved the world from floods originating from the Orange Islands, helped a baby Lugia reunite with his mother when they were both captured by Team Rocket, battled Primal Groudon and Primal Kyogre in the Cave of Origin during a crisis in Hoenn as Team Aqua and Magma set them both loose on the world. He’s even saved the whole of creation from Primal Palkia, Primal Dialga; captured Giratina in its mega evolved form which hasn’t been seen since the dawn of Sinnoh. And from what I heard from Cilan he even saved this Omega Omnisphere he keeps prattling on about from being flash frozen compliments of the original Dragon of Unova and the leader of Team Plasma,” Brock bragged on Ash’s behalf, causing Serena to stare at him with a newfound level of awe and incredulity as the love of her life blushed heavily from her staring.
Quickly recovering, Ash elaborated on Brock’s statement, “first of all I couldn’t have done any of those things without my Pokemon and human friends supporting me. Secondly Brock the last bit was particular scary for me because while Ghetsis understood the mechanics of omnipotence on a frightening level he didn’t understand the fundamental laws of totality or the fact that going past absolute zero and creating an almighty freeze would run the risk of breaking reality in ways even flash freezing it couldn’t compare to,” Ash rambled once more, caught up in memories of some of his most desperate times and feeling surprisingly nostalgic. He wasn’t kidding when he told Serena that today had been the most excitement he’d had in months, in all honesty he had kind of missed it.
“Ash you’re amazing, you’ve saved so many lives and yet you share almost all of the credit,” Serena cooed, giving him a radiant smile with perfect teeth as Ash rubbed the back of his neck sheepishly. Brock decided to embarrass Ash even further by saying something else, “did you tell her about your keepsake; your precious good luck charm for every major battle you fight,” he chuckled. Serena was curious now as Ash blushed an even deeper red than she would’ve thought possible as he tentatively reached into his backpack and pulled out the item in question before showing it to her with an expectant glance.
Serena gave it an onceover as she realized she was holding a spectacularly unremarkable pink ribbon. “I don’t get it Ash, what’s so special about this... Oh my God,” Serena blanched, the memories of this very same ribbon returning to her with the equivalent force of a two ton truck as she held it gingerly in her hands. “Is this...” she faltered, beyond words right now as Ash mutely nodded. “?You kept it all this time?! It doesn’t look any different, there’s no wear and tear; it looks brand new,” Serena stammered as Ash hastened to explain.
“I used my abilities to cast an eternal preservation spell on it for lack of a choosier way of putting it, I also regressed it temporally because it had seen some mileage in the years prior to my deification. That’s why it looks brand new, but I wore that thing to every major battle I fought, every gym match, every league tournament challenge, and every champion league tournament match, everything Serena. You were there with me in spirit throughout my entire Pokemon journey, every milestone, every hardship, every joyous occasion, and everything else beyond that,” Ash declared with a surprisingly steady voice as Serena felt herself tearing up with sheer joy. She quickly brought out her own keepsake from their time together, and Ash’s eyes widened in immediate recognition of the very same handkerchief that brought them together. Unlike his Serena’s had faded to a lighter blue but beyond that he couldn’t even tell she had been wearing it all this past decade.
“You kept it?!” Ash repeated in shock, and Serena laughed like she couldn’t quite believe he would ask something like that. “Of course I did you loveable dummy, it’s the symbol of our friendship, it’s what brought us together even though we met and spoke before it. It wasn’t until you patched up me knee and told me to never give up until the end that I realized I’d found the closest friend I’d ever have. And recently this handkerchief has started meaning so much more to me than mere friendship can ever hope to convey; I love with what this monument represents between us Ash and I am absolutely head over heels in love with you,” Serena admittedly unabashedly, shamelessly, not even caring that Brock was there and could hear every word she said. She’d shout it to the whole damn totality if that’s what it took to get her point across, and she was rewarded for her forwardness when Ash gave that same toothy grin she remembered from their childhood.
Brock chose that very moment to pipe up before things got any cuter and mushier between those two. “I take it you guys want some of my famous no chew stew, or are you still too tuckered out,” Brock teased. He got his answer when both of their stomachs gave a mutinous rumble and Ash chuckled and put his arm across Serena’s shoulders like they were already best buds again. “Sure why not, bedtime can wait and frankly I’m hungry to so lead the way old Brocko,” Ash chuckled good naturedly as Brock did exactly that and lead the pair of them back inside the laboratory and up the flight of stairs to the second landing.
“You guys wait here while I go find the kitchen, it will give you two some time to catch up and maybe snuggle some more before dinner is ready. Oh and Ash,” Brock said as they reached the guest room and Ash stopped at the door to acknowledge one of his oldest traveling buddies. “What is it Brock,” Ash queried, causing Brock to repress a grin. “Don’t do anything I wouldn’t do if you know what I mean,” he suggestively stated, waggling his eyebrows at the pair of them as Ash slammed the door in his face with an embarrassed smile while ignoring the peals of laughter echoing down the hall. Facing Serena Ash took her by the hand and lead her over to the couch, they had the guest room all to themselves and given the approximate half hour or so it took for Brock to make his no chew stew he knew there was lots of time for him to do more than simply bring Serena as up to speed as he could manage in that timeframe. As though sensing his mind, Serena smiled up at him shyly, and brought him in for another kiss as both teenagers became enveloped in a blissful oblivion and enticed each other away into the seventh level of heaven and beyond. Was it too soon for them to be engaging in this manner? One might think so but could also agree that this was just ten years of pent up passion desperately craving release. One tangible thought passed through both of their minds in perfect sync as they continued to test the previously untested waters of their very new and very real relationship, ‘totally worth the wait.’
