Toboe stopped off at home to leave his clothes. Cheza was taken home beforehand, since he needed a ride from Leara a third time today. She agreed to drive him to Tsume's, although with her crush on him, it wasn't impossible to get her to use more gas on him, if it meant finding out where the actor lives.
"Do you think Gasper likes me?" His friend asked. "I mean, I know we'd just met; and strangers aren't easy to get a read on, but..." she blushed fiercely. "He didn't seem to wanna walk away from us so soon."
Toboe scoffed. "Are you blaming me for taking you away, before the new guy could put the moves on you?"
"That sounds about right." She smiled cheekily. "Wanna stop off anywhere else? You said Mr. Keina wasn't home, but at lunch."
"Naah. I'll wait for him; I don't mind."
Leara smiled privately, wondering if Gasper would find her worth waiting for? "You're so lucky. This is perfect weather for romance."
Toboe nodded. Tsume will definitely love his gift. 'Tsume loves everything about me. I could give him a box of raisins, he'd never eat it.' He wondered how he got so lucky.
#
Tsume was used to getting glances and outright hard-looks, but the staring with whispers was new. He followed his agent, Lee Bardrom, to a table in the lovely restaurant. The man took a seat with a practiced ease that made him come off like a self-important, millionaire - - which he is. But, for others to know that was the ultimate goal. Tsume sat with an air that read: speed it up; you're boring just based off of "Hello".
"Keina, you probably saw the news by now, right?"
"No. I slept in then left for the meeting."
His agent tapped the screen on his tablet, then turned it so he could see the screen.
Tsume cocked a brow. Someone had taken his picture from the previous night. He wasn't alone. Toboe Wolf was with him. They looked intimate, even just from that small touch of the young man's hip. It wasn't vulgar, or even truly taletelling. It was a simple hold that any friend would do with another. But to anyone looking at the photo they could see lovers. It was in the eyes, the smiles, the leaning into the touch.
Bardom turned the device back around then set it down on the glass tabletop. "Frankly, I'm surprised it wasn't brought up at meeting."
"Are you insinuating at something?" His golden gaze moved from the screen to his agents wide dark-blues.
"Yes! You're gay?" He looked around them then lowered his voice and leaned in. "Gay-gay? Like you kiss and screw same gender? This wasn't some prank on the paparazzi?"
"It's as they say, Bardrom; a picture is worth a thousand words. Whatever that picture is telling you, all of it is correct." He sat back; arms crossed; face daring the man to care.
Ever since his trust was broken by his parents, and his shady manager from back when he was a model, Tsume Keina has never allowed anyone to be in charge of his existence. However, acting was new territory for him, he needed someone to assist the navigation, until he could give them the boot, as well; and once again, manage his self. But so far, Bardrom has been a fair and honest man. He looks at the industry and sees the dollar signs, not Tsume alone. The agency has many other actors; losing him would mean nothing. It worked out perfectly for them.
"This is unbelievable!" He again lowered his voice, and again leaned forward. "I could have put you in anything. Romance, drama, any genre with either gender. And you're only now telling me? Tsu', I thought we were friends?"
"Friends?" Tsume was amused by that statement of assumption.
"Hey, I make you money, I don't take it from you. That to me qualifies as BBF's." He smiled because of Tsume's laughter, likely caused by a grown man using the term BBF. "So, who's the kid? An actor from another agency?"
"No. He's just an average college student."
"May I take your order?" Asked a waitress. Her gaze lingered on the actor.
"T-bone; and the Terrien to start."
"Same, but make my protein the pork would you, sweetie?"
The waitress nodded; not liking being called "sweetie" by the slick agent. She's used to seeing celebrities coming in for meals. And after 20 years, she can easily spot the talent from the solicitor. He's no one to lose sleep over.
"Your meals will be brought out in a moment." She walked away.
After their drink order was filled, they resumed conversation.
"How soon can I start offering you to the BL scene?"
"Isn't that for boys?"
"It's just a term, you can be any age - - trust me, most of those actors are in their late twenties." He points at Tsume with his wine glass. "You're beautiful to look at; and your face hasn't begun to crinkle; you could be in a cast playing any age."
He wasn't wrong. Thought Tsume without ego. He genuinely took care of his appearance due to being a model; and quit smoking since becoming an actor, so his stamina wouldn't dwindle.
"I'm seriously gonna put you out there. But, I need to know, how far are you willing to go?"
"You make it sound like you intend to line-up pornos."
"No. It's just these scripts tend to be on the lighthearted, mushy side, or especially sexual."
"I'd rather take sexual. But, don't feel like you have to, Bard'," he sipped his iced tea. "I'm fine taking the usual."
"Hn. This guy... You may be fine with it, but I'm not." He ran a hand through his raven hair; and as if the movement went beyond pushing his hair from his face, he leaned back in his seat. "I want my hands dipped everywhere. And you should, too." He smirked; tapping the blacked-out screen, he teased. "Unless you're worried Honey-Bear will abject?"
"Honey-Bear?" Tsume looked on the verge of saying something damaging, but he schooled it down. "Listen, leave him out of this. He's not using me for money, and I'm not using him for sex. We are a legit couple."
Bardrom put up his hands as a white flag.
"And, he understands my profession. He won't care in the least."
...
"Tsume Keina really lives here?" Leara looked at the building in awe. "Can I see inside?"
Toboe chuckled from sudden humility. "I, uh, don't have a key yet."
"I thought you guys were 'official'?" Her gaze was sly.
Toboe gave her a light shove. "Don't decide our degree of love. Tsume and I are the real deal." He crossed his arms, daring her to say otherwise.
"I just think that a boyfriend with his own place, would give access to that place."
"Are you trying to start a fight?" Wondered Wolf in mock anger. "Tsume and I are a lot better off than you and Gasper, you don't even have his number."
"Toboe,"
Toboe closed his eyes at both the familiar voice in his ear and the loving embrace wrapped around his torso. "You're back."
"Mhmm." He peppered kisses upon his boyfriend's cheeks. "And I have your key ready," he tucked the little piece of metal into Toboe's hand. "Come on, I have a lot to tell you." Detaching himself from the Wolf teen, he passed by the young man's friend. "Lisa?"
"Uh.. um.. Leara, sir."
"You don't have to call me "sir" or "Mr. Keina", Tsume is fine," he held out his hand to his boyfriend. "Toboe?" He cocked his head to hurry them along inside.
Toboe wagged the key out to his friend, then stepped past her to attach himself to his boyfriend's hand.
"Leara, would you like to come in?" Tsume asked to be nice. "Bathroom? Drink?"
Leara was suddenly embarrassed over the idea of being in the apartment, despite her earlier curiosity and want to. "Uh.. I, um, no. I need to get home and drop off my things." She pointed to where her car was parked. "But, thank you. Maybe some other time?"
"Of course. Bye."
"B.." She cleared her voice. "Bye. And I'll call you later, Toboe."
Toboe nodded. He walked in behind Tsume.
The couple took the elevator up to the top floor. Toboe waited for the door, but when Tsume made no move to open the door, he asked. "Aren't we going in?"
"Open the door."
Toboe smiled. "Kinda romantic, you want me to have my first key turn."
Tsume popped Toboe on the forehead. "It's more like I heard your friend picking on you, and gave you my key to shut her up."
With a light blush; Toboe unlocked the door for them. "You heard that, huh?"
"Mhmm. I did intend to have a key made for you."
"Thanks." He sat on the couch; Tsume sat beside him, hip to outer thigh.
It amazed Toboe that after every undressed thing they've done, the man's casual touch could still erupt such a fluttering from his heart. And his own key! Boy, was he ever gonna pop-in on his boyfriend. Surprises. Rendezvous. Cooking meals for him. Toboe smiled as he daydreamed a scenario. Tsume would be exhausted after work; he'd come home to a tantalizing smell; Tsume would tell him all about his day, while complimenting his skills in the kitchen; they'd kiss tenderly on the sofa. Tsume would tell him that he loves him, and then up the stairs to prove it physically, as well.
"How was lunch?" He asked.
"Productive. I chose a thriller."
"Is that why you're reading that book?"
Tsume shook his head. "Boredom relief." Nodding to the script he'd dropped on the coffee table when they walked over to the couch, he commented. "I got lucky it was in the pile."
"What's it about?" He turned himself, sitting on his tucked in leg; arm on the back of the chair, palm supporting his cheek; he gives full attention to his boyfriend.
"It's about a man who has a secret from his childhood; he covered up a murder for a girl he'd liked. He never told her about the crush or being a witness, he ends up meeting her again later on, and falls for all over again. The thriller part comes from the fact that someone else knows she murdered that guy, and he's threatening her to turn herself in or he'll kill her."
"I'd watch that." He stated truthfully.
"Let's hope others will too."
Toboe patted Tsume's thigh. "With you in it, it'll be a hit."
Tsume smirked. Toboe could sweet talk him all he liked. The truth would show in the numbers. But, it was nice to hear. "What did you do today?"
"Shopped. Ate. Went home. Came here." He absently rubbed his thigh; an attempt to staunch his nerves.
He wondered if it would ever completely go away. That feeling like he's doing something wrong by being with Tsume. He's a man now. Nineteen. There is nothing wrong with his relationship. They're only ten years apart; a remove the teen part of it, that's really nothing at all in age difference. He closed his eyes feeling Tsume's fingers caress through his hair.
"I got you something," he hopped up to his feet. "Do you wanna close your eyes or..."
Tsume held out his hand. He had to admit it, he expected some gaudy couple's shirt. Even a picture frame. But what he got was a small flat box. He opened it; Toboe sat back down on the couch beside him, all highbeam eyes and smile over the fact that Tsume genuinely looked moved.
"This is really nice, thank you." He pulled the onyx pair of earrings from the holder. He felt that animalistic stir from Toboe suddenly touching him to remove his earrings. His sweet face inches from his own. Turning his head slightly, he spoke - - not in a whisper, but quietly - - into his ear. "Move in with me."
They both looked down at the fallen gold earring that Toboe fumbled.
"Huh?" Surely he heard wrong? His daydream maximum overdrive, that he's now hearing things out loud.
Tsume locked eyes with the young man, and repeated his request. Because he wasn't asking. He was passively telling him his want. His dream. "Move in with me."
Toboe swallowed. Yup. That was what he'd heard. The words were confirmed. Tsume Keina. His boyfriend just asked him to live with him. He grabbed another bag from atop the coffee table. "And, I also bought some stuff to leave here, for nights that I stay over and need a change."
"Toboe,"
"Should I model them; give you a taste of nostalgia?" He stood up, but was pulled back onto the couch.
"You don't wanna move in with me?"
Toboe wet his lips; sighed through his nose. "Tsume, I really wanna move in with you. But,"
"But..."
"I.." He shrugged his shoulder; a chuckle lamely escaped his lips. "I don't know. I heard it, twice, that: leaving your parents home, then moving straight in with your boyfriend or girlfriend was the worst." He ended the quote with a firm nod. "I won't get to know me as myself, instead of me as a heavily monitored little brother, or boyfriend. I gotta find Toboe Wolf." He scooted nice and close, practically onto Tsume's lap. "Tsume, you know I love you. And honestly, I've fantasized about living with you probably more times than you have about living with me."
"But, you still wanna fly solo?"
"Only for a year or so." He picked up Tsume's hands; kissed them, then held them in prayer with his own. "I know it sounds selfish, but, would you wait for me?" His doe-eyes on hyper-strength.
Tsume looked at Toboe and tried for his own attempt at doe-eyes. "You always get it your way, huh, Pup?"
He nodded, smiling when it received laughter. "Are we ok? Is it gonna get weird after this?"
"Puleeze, I'm 29, I don't do weird." He pecked him on the lips then forehead. "I can wait. I've waited all this time to finally have you, and now I do. I can wait longer to have you always."
Toboe felt heat in his cheeks. "Dammit, Tsume, you're trying to make me cry." He tapped the box. "Asking me to move in, you even out-did my present. Here, look,"
He examined the earring, then noticed the carvings. "TB.W." He read. "This better work?"
Deadpanned, he swiped the jewelry. "To-Boe Wolf. Jerk." He placed the earring in for him. "The other one has our reunited date on it; so we'll never forget." He put that earring in for him, as well. "I'm gonna get the same engraved on one of my bracelets."
"No."
"Why not?"
"Let me do it." He removed one of the bangles from Toboe's wrist.
"Alright. Cool with me." He got up from the couch. "Tsume, you can count on me to make heavy use of my key. And, I swear, someday I'll move in with you."
"When I get better snacks?" He teased.
"Get some in the first place," he gave him a mock serious expression that he'd already be on the lease.
"Thanks again, for the gift. I really like it."
"Really?"
"Yeah. It was surprising. You didn't have to get me anything."
"I did. Because I love you; and I wanna get you nice things like you'd to get me nice things." He climbed onto Tsume's lap. "Waiting nearly four years to be my boyfriend, when I'm just some nobody... That's untouchable in debt."
"You don't owe me anything for loving you."
"I know." He hugged him tightly, then kissed him tenderly.
"Toboe," Tsume said between light pecks. "My agent wants to star me in BL dramas. A paparazzi took our picture when we were out on a date."
"Really? I didn't see anyone." He tried to think of where it happened. They were sort of flaunting their relationship, but that was to the common man, not media or red carpet.
"That's how they operate. Ghosts. And their work haunts the living for all time."
"That's awful... But, you said you were gonna get scripts for gay dramas, you weren't fired?"
"No. He's pissed he didn't know until now."
Toboe scoffed. That was an agent for ya, always looking to score. "Well, that's good. I couldn't look you in the eyes anymore if I got you fired."
Tsume kissed Toboe on the neck. "Who'd care, even if you had? I can do other things. I told you that."
Toboe nodded. "Come on. Let's rehearse. You can pick a role and I'll do the rest."
"Good idea. We can freestyle the sex scene."
Toboe cocked a brow. "Over my dead body, you're taking that part."
...
Toboe watched Tsume preparing dinner; on the side he's looking over Want Ads on his boyfriend's tablet. Recently fired, and an interview pending, he had to think realistically or he'd never be able to afford a dorm. A small smile ghosted his lips. Tsume wants him to move in. He wants him around all the time. How insane is that?! He's never felt a love like this. It's scary and exciting. Waking up each day beside Tsume; in his arms, in his happiness. How many times has he had such a dream when he was 14, 15, 16 years old. At seventeen, he kind of gave up hope that the former model turned actor would still care about him. It was plausible. But, to be here in the now...
'Maybe I'm being stupid. I should take Tsume up on it, live with him.' He frowned. 'But, what if we get tired of each other? We know each other through comings and goings, living together is different. I might get on his nerves. I'll have to study, he might distract me; I might distract him when he's reading for work... What if I don't like his food? What if... Ok, he has never liked my taste in food, but.. what if we can't stay together because we're too together?'
Toboe smiled weakly, wondering when he had such deep thoughts. He really has grown up. It's sad in some ways, but good in others. He's in a real relationship. He's with the man he's loved since he was fourteen years old. He finally has the love that he wants.
