Terra woke in Zoisite’s arms. Ever since her adventure with the Jabberwocky, her thoughts were crystal clear. She remembered who and what she was. She remembered her childhood, her life in Tokyo, and her time in the Dark Kingdom.
She really needed to get even with Takara.
She slipped out of the bed and went into the bathing room she had created. She could make herself clean with magic, but nothing matched the feeling of soaking in hot water, or making love in it.
While she soaked in the bath, she considered her options. She had to keep anyone from knowing that she had changed. That would be the hardest part. Tanzanite was domineering, hard, and cold to anyone but Zoisite, Kunzite, or Soladite. She had established her dominance over the other junior generals quickly. She had the almost exclusive attention of Hematite whenever she wanted it.
Hematite would be pleased. He had been encouraging her to soften a bit, now that she had established her position.
She conjured a mirror, and looked at herself. She studied her face for a moment, and then realized that the jewel in her tiara had changed. It was back to the dark purple of Sailor Terra. Carefully, she put an illusion over it that made it black again. No one could know. She had to start working on her next youma, immediately. She had to get out of the Dark Kingdom before Metalia found out that she was no longer Tanzanite.
~*~*~*~
In the workroom, Terra quickly picked up a piece of paper and wrote a note. She folded it securely and then made a small scrying mirror so that she could locate either Mamoru or Vincent.
She found Mamoru sitting in the den, with what looked like Zoisite in his lap, and what looked like Nephrite and Jadeite on either side. She knew they weren’t, so those must be the body doubles that Aster had brought into the complex so long ago.
She made a tiny doorway between the Dark Kingdom and Earth, and dropped the note through it. She watched it flutter down onto ‘Zoisite’ and get caught in his hair. She saw Mamoru lift a hand and pluck the paper from the golden brown curls, and then look to the ceiling in wonder.
A flurry of sakura petals brought her attention back to her place, and she banished the mirror before Zoisite finished appearing.

At Chiba House, Mamoru turned over the folded paper several times before he noticed a tiny drawing in one corner. The quartered circle of Earth.
He unfolded it with shaking hands, and then turned it so that he could read the message inside, while Taro sat up straighter in his lap and the other two moved to read over his shoulder.
Endymion;
The power of earth will soon be complete once more. Watch for the shield beast.
Terra
Mamoru stared at the writing for several moments, and then he refolded it and pressed it to his lips. He drew it up to his nose, and then looked down at Taro with an expression of awe.
“I can smell her!” he said. “She did send this!” He held it to Taro’s nose, so that he too could catch Lucinda’s scent.
“She said nothing of Sol,” Toshio observed.
“Of course not,” Masato said. “She is united with either Atlas or a copy of him. We don’t know what caused Terra to come back to herself.”
“I think I do,” Taro said. “You said that her youma was glowing brightly. That indicates that it was carrying an immense amount of power, more than any of the Shitennou ever managed to collect. Perhaps the presence of that much power brought her back to herself.”
“Perhaps time on Earth did it,” Mamoru said softly. “Maybe time with her element freed her mind.”
“Either is possible,” Toshio said. “That means that she is planning to escape the Dark Kingdom, and she wants to make it look good.”
“Then we will oblige,” Mamoru said. He lifted Taro out of his lap, and then got up and led the way into the main room.

Terra stood silently, listening. She could not believe the conversation she was overhearing. If anyone else had told her about it, she would have called them a liar.
“I can’t do this anymore, Galaxite,” Soladite was saying.
“If that’s what you want, Soladite,” Galaxite replied. “You can’t watch Kunzite all of the time. If I stop protecting him, all kinds of accidents can happen.”
“I can’t keep coming to you when you call,” Soladite objected. “He’s going to get suspicious.”
“Not if you’re creative, my dear,” Galaxite replied. “I’m sure you can come up with something that will keep him from being suspicious.”
“Galaxite,” Soladite objected, but her voice was suddenly muffled.
Terra looked around the corner to see that Galaxite had Soladite pressed against a wall. He had her wrists secured with one hand, one hand on a breast, and was plundering her mouth.
“No more arguments,” he said when he finally released her, breathing hard. “One hour. My quarters. One of my pets should be just what we need.”
“No,” Soladite whimpered. “Not one of those things. Anything else.”
“Oh, don’t worry, darling,” Galaxite said, nuzzling along her neck. “My pet will just warm you up. I am not about to pass up a chance to pound you senseless. If you keep being so coy, I might invite someone to join in, like Takara.”
“NO!” Soladite said sharply. “If you involve Takara, the whole affair is off.”
“You’re not in control here, sweets,” Galaxite murmured. “I am. If you keep rocking the boat, I’ll bring in Takara.”
Terra could not listen to any more. She turned away and silently went back the way she had come, intent now on seeking out Kunzite.
~*~*~*~
“He WHAT!” Kunzite roared.
“He’s blackmailing Soladite,” Terra said. “He’s telling her that he’s protecting you, as long as she comes to his bed.”
“I am going to kill him,” Kunzite said. “How dare he prey on her!”
“It’s not just her, Kunzitosama,” Zoisite said. He had been sitting quietly, listening to the conversation. “I realize now that it was foolish, and his claims are impossible.”
“Zoisito?” Terra said, turning to him. “You?”
“Hai,” Zoisite said, lowering his eyes. “He said that he would protect you while you were learning your way here, and he would keep anyone from attempting to assassinate Kunzite. He is good with words, Kunzitosama. He knows what to say to make your fears seem reasonable, and his offer seem generous.”
“I know,” Kunzite said. “I know. Zoisito, you and I need to go to the Queen. Tanzanite, you stay here. If Soladite comes back, keep her here until the Queen calls for her.
“Yes, Kunzite-sama,” Terra said.
Kunzite nodded to Zoisite and the two of them disappeared.
Terra sat down to wait for Soladite.
~*~*~*~
Soladite returned some time later, looking tired. She greeted Terra quietly, and then headed for the bathing room that Kunzite had created for them.
Terra heard water running, and then she heard muffled sobbing. She went to the bathing room and opened the door.
Soladite was sitting on the bench, scouring at herself with a washcloth. Her pale skin was turning red as she roughly scrubbed the cloth over her body. She was concentrating her attention on her thighs and her lower belly. She was working her way to her pubic regions when Terra stepped forward and pulled the cloth out of her hands.
“Soladite, what is going on?” she demanded.
“I can’t get clean,” Soladite sobbed, rubbing at her abused skin with her hands. “I can’t get it off, no matter how hard I try.”
“Get what off, Soladite?” Terra asked, coming closer and kneeling down on the wet floor.
“His hands, his … “ she broke down, crying hysterically. She threw her arms around Terra’s neck, buried her face in the other woman’s shoulder and cried, her shoulders heaving.
Terra heard footsteps approaching, and she sensed the approach of Zoisite and Kunzite.
Strong hands raised both of them to their feet. Slender hands pulled at Terra and she let Zoisite pull her away. She watched as Kunzite wrapped Soladite in a bath sheet and picked her up to carry her into the other room.
Kunzite sat down in a large wingback chair that Soladite had made for him, and he held her in his lap and rocked her.
When Soladite finally ran out of tears, she laid against his chest, hiccupping and wiping her eyes. He made a soft cloth and handed it to her.
“I need to tell you something, Soladite,” he said. “You are not the only one who Galaxite deceived. Others believed him, and agreed to his terms.”
“Who?” she asked between sniffles.
“Me,” he said softly, burying his face in her hair.
“And me,” Zoisite said. “He made me believe that he could protect Tanzanite. He said he would, if I would do something for him.”
“Those … things,” Soladite said, shuddering.
Kunzite looked up at Zoisite, and he saw the same expression of loathing that he knew was on his own face. The youma she was talking about were creations of Galaxite’s. They were mostly a head with arms attached to it. They had oversized hands, an unbreakable grip, and two oversized prehensile tongues that could be moved independently of one another.
//Kunzite, Zoisite, Soladite, report.//
The summons of the Black Queen was not to be denied. Soladite slipped form Kunzite’s lap and created a uniform. She also created a cool cloth to press to her face and hide the evidence of her crying. When she finished, she nodded to Kunzite and the three of them teleported to the throne room.
~*~*~*~
In the throne room, Galaxite was kneeling at the base of the dais, gasping for breath and drenched in sweat. Queen Metalia was sitting on her throne, frowning at him.
“I received distressing news about my son this day,” she said. “The distressing news will go no farther than the five of us here. Soladite, I have been told that my son told you he would guarantee Kunzite’s safety if you went to his bed on a regular basis. I have also been told that he used some youma that he designed to restrain you and perform other functions. Is this true?”
“Yes, My Queen,” Soladite said. She kept her head lowered so that Metalia would not see how ashamed she was of her weakness.
“Your concern for another General is admirable, Soladite,” Metalia said. “I applaud your motives, while I decry my son’s methods. Galaxite was told to win the loyalty of my Generals, not to purchase or coerce it. He cannot guarantee the safety of any General. Galaxite has been punished, and his personal youma have all been destroyed. I will be watching him very carefully from now on. You three may go.”
“Yes, My Queen,” Soladite said. She did not look up before she teleported back to her quarters.
~*~*~*~
Soladite went straight into the workroom before Kunzite and Zoisite came back. She could not face them, now that they knew what she had done. She looked over at her firebird, sitting on its perch. She had no idea what to do for her next youma. It had to be something original, though. She needed something to make everyone sit up and take notice, again. It had to be something to guarantee that her critics would never question her superiority again.
She picked up a book that Tanzanite had used as one of her models when she was creating the Jabberwocky’s triggers, and started leafing through it.
She stopped at a picture of a sunflower. It was an unusually large specimen. A yardstick across the flower showed that it was over two and a half feet in diameter.
Soladite smiled. She had an idea, now.
~*~*~*~
She had just started the accelerated germination when a pain ripped through her chest. When the pain cleared, her link with her servant was gone.
She got up immediately and started searching for him. She knew that going alone was not the smartest thing she could have done, but she needed to know if it was his own doing, or if someone was trying to get her attention.
Her search led to the arena. Galaxite was at one of the benches, cleaning off his sword. The lifeless body of the man who she had bound as a servant lay in the middle of the arena, in a spreading puddle of blood.
“Oh, Hello Soladite,” Galaxite said. “It seems that this officer had an over-inflated view of his abilities. He was wrong.”
“I see,” Soladite said, assessing the situation. “Perhaps you’d care to test your mettle against someone more capable?”
“Not today,” he said, smiling. “I have to go see about a wild youma.”
“Galaxite,” Soladite said. “If you go after the White Demon to get back at me, I will personally rake the arena floor with your face.”
“Don’t bite off more than you can chew, Soladite,” he said, his eyes narrowing. “You should have kept your mouth shut.”
“I did!” she shouted at him. “I wasn’t the one who went to the Queen!”
“Oh,” Galaxite said, and then looked at the cooling body on the arena floor. “No great loss, though. I couldn’t have done that with Zoisite.”
“Not if you want to live,” Soladite said, her eyes narrowing.
“Calm down, Soladite,” Galaxite said. “You’re not a full general yet, and I am still the Queen’s son.”
“You’re an arrogant bully,” Soladite hissed. “I ought to cut you down to size right now.”
Galaxite looked startled for a moment, and then the laughed at her as he teleported away.
