-Introductions and Explanations-
Naga hated Pokeballs. She had no clue what it was about them that she disliked most, be it the muted sensation of feeling that made her feel like she was on the edge of death, the constant droning of the Pokeballs commands of 'Obey your master. Master is everything' when she didn't need to be told that her Master was not to be disobeyed on threat of a fate far worse then going feral, or the simple fact that a putrid, disgusting swamp was considered the 'official' habitat for her kind, the ball's system making everything around her look, feel, and smell just like the real thing.
"Let me out of this damn ball!" The snake Pokegirl screamed, unsure of just how long she could stand being in the vile contraption before going insane.
As if heeding her command, the Pokeball released the White Serpent, letting her breath real air again, her senses returning to their full force. Like her Master's room before, the place she had been released was dark, brooding, concealing all about her and hiding all secretes. It felt like home.
"Ok, so who did Master pair me with?" Naga asked, turning her head left and right. Part of her 'last chance' to prove herself to her master by killing Lina Inverse was that she was forced to work with another. This partner would work alongside the serpent Pokegirl, helping her with the assassination, or otherwise exterminate Naga if she failed. Just who would did Master think would be suitable for such a mission?
A click of a gun came as an answer to her thoughts, the tribarrel of the weapon pressing snuggly at her temple. "So, he stuck me with you, Tasia?" Naga growled, knowing instantly who was behind her. There was only one such Pokegirl in her Masters harem that had such weaponry.
"Of course, Gracia. You know how serious Master can be, and you have failed him too many times already." The shrouded Pokegirl said, her voice soft, almost sweet if not for the cold edge in it. Naga growled at the other girl, hating the use of her original name, one that she had long discarded for the name of her species of Pokegirl. Some things were best left in the past and her 'harem sister' knew that better then even their master did.
"Oh? Don't like what I called you?" Tasia teased, pulling her gun away, the weapon melding back into her arms as if it never existed in the first place, a natural ability of the Pokegirls species. "You should keep that in mind when using names that should remain on your tongue even in private."
"Fine, Sniper," Naga spat, turning the female. It only came as mildly ironic that almost every Pokegirl her master had, herself included, chose to forsake their original names for one reason or another, though the White Serpent never did discover Sniper's reasoning. "Let's just get this over with. I don't see why you're even here, since you'd never shoot another girl."
"But there are exceptions to every rule." Sniper said, stepping closer, allowing the White Serpent to see the GunValkyrie completely. Her rifle arm, the weapon that Sniper preferred above all else in her arsenal, lay armed and ready to fire across her breast, her left arm lying against it, cradling it like a newborn. "And you, my dear Naga, are my exception."
"Is he STILL out?"
Aiyoku sighed in reply to her harem sister, letting the tent flap close once more. Rui had been sleeping since he had tamed the Lambchop the previous day, not even waking up when dinner was ready. Despite her feelings recently about her tamer, particularly dealing with the other girls and his own desire to reunite with his sibling even by means of going to one of the worst places on the face of the Sunshine League, Aiyoku still cared for Rui and didn't want to see him run himself completely into the ground over anyone, herself included. "Are you're sure this is normal, Lina?"
The Witch nodded, giving the Dragon type a smile. "Don't worry about him, Aiyoku. All of us have been working in ways we aren't used to. I doubt before we met Rui that any of us went and worked out each morning. And by the look of that Pokegirl, he used a lot of his magic last night to heal her."
The Draco bit her lip, agreeing with Lina, but still unsure. She knew very little about magic, even from what she had gathered from her Harem Sister and Master, but she saw every time either used it the drain it had on their physical forms, less so for Lina, who was naturally made for such use, but the drain was still there. Pushing away some of the worry in her mind, she returned to the cooking fire she had set up, some fish that Lina had caught slowly beginning to turn into a delicious brown.
As she tended to the food, the smells making her own stomach growl in anticipation, the Dragon Pokegirl let her mind wander a bit, thoughts going to Windy Shores. Going home again wasn't exactly the most exciting proposition for Aiyoku, especially with her brother possibly stilled holed up in the Pro-Pokegirl city. She worried more, though, about Rosa, the Oddtits currently resting in her Pokeball.
Known as the home of PaP, Windy Shores wasn't exactly abusive to Pokegirls as much as they treated them like money, something to be used, given in exchanged for goods and other such services, and in general given little thought to unless a Pokegirl caused damages. That wasn't to say that the majority of the world didn't do just that or looked at Pokegirls the same way, but in most other places at least, Threshold Pokegirls were looked at with pity or even allowed to have a few rights after becoming Pokegirls. Once you became a Pokegirl in Windy Shores, every right…even the right of having your own name, was stripped away from you. And that didn't even include the punishments for a Pokegirl that went out of line. Even something as small as speaking out of turn for a Pokegirl could end her up being Level 5'd.
"Hey, Aiyoku." Lina called, breaking the Dragon type out of her morbid thoughts. "Look whose up."
Blinking, the Draco looked up to see the newest addition to Rui's harem, the Lambchop, pushing gingerly out of the tent, her blue eyes gazing at the other two Pokegirls. Aiyoku gave the Fighting type a smile. "Good morning." She said, standing. "How are you feeling?"
"Hungry." The Lambchop replied, surprising the other Pokegirls. Lina gave her harem sister a worried glance as the Sheep Pokegirl went to a nearby tree, climbing up it to get at the fruit on its branches, plucking the brightest apple she could. A loud crunching could be heard from the branches, the fighting type apparently sating her hunger.
"She's Threshold." Aiyoku whispered, earning a nod from the Witch.
"I kinda figured as much." Rui said, slipping from the tent behind the girls and catching their attention.
"What do you mean, Rui?" Lina asked, gazing at the male. Somehow, Aiyoku doubted that Rui was alright with capturing and taming a Threshold Pokegirl against her will, especially after what they had talked about not a full day ago.
"Remember how she fought us earlier? How she was aggressive and wouldn't go down? I checked the dex… says that it's completely against what's normal for the breed." He shook his head. "It's not like we really had a choice though, anyway. She was feral and attacking us."
"So what are we going to do with her?" Aiyoku asked, a worried tone creeping into her voice. Rui shrugged, turning away from her and looking about their modest campsite. "Where is she?"
"Here, Master!" The Lambchop cried as she jumped down from her spot in the trees, grinning wildly as she landed on her feat in a crouching position and then sprung at Rui, hugging him tightly. Aiyoku had to suppress a bit of a giggle at watching the red-haired trainer struggle to try to stay on his feet, his arms surrounding the fighting type Pokegirl.
After tearing himself out of the girl's grasp, Rui gave her a very serious look. "I'd thought you'd be a bit more upset with me catching you." The trainer said, frowning ever so slightly.
"Nope!" the Fighting type said, still grinning. "Mei likes Master!"
"I'd thought you'd be a bit more upset, especially with how focused you seemed to be on fighting us yesterday." Lina said her arms still crossed eyeing the fighting Pokegirl. Aiyoku could only guess what her Harem sister was thinking, but the Dragon type herself thought that Mei was a little weird to say the least, especially since she was a threshold girl.
"Mei half feral when Master caught Mei." Mei explained, trying to work past her impeded speech to explain herself. It was clear that she was, indeed, a threshold girl, as no feral would be capable of speaking such after a single taming and no human interaction. "Mei thought you be family trying to get Mei again."
"Family?" Aiyoku asked. Was she a runaway? Aiyoku herself had fled from Windy Shores, afraid of what her brother might do to her. Weakened from threshold, barely able to run much less fight, the Pokegirl's mother is what saved her from being tamed by him. As far as the Draco was concerned, it was better to go feral in the wild then be left in a place like that.
Mei nodded in response to Aiyoku, scowling a bit as she continued on. "Family wanted to sell Mei to fatass. Mei no want master who sit and eat like slob all time."
"The nerve of some people." Lina growled a bit, joining Mei in her disagreement with how the world worked. If anything, Lina appeared more upset with the idea, probably relating to her being a mostly free Pokegirl before joining up with Rui. "If you're going to sell a Pokegirl, you should at the very least find them a Master worth two SCL. Everyone knows that Fighting type Pokegirls prefer someone who exercises."
Aiyoku couldn't help but agree with her Harem sister. While she wasn't as foolish to believe that a Pokegirl had the right to choose her master in this world, unless it was Sadie's Poken Day, the Draco thought it was wrong to sell of a Pokegirl to a mismatched master. It would be like forcing an Amazonchan to fight with her feet.
"So how do you know I'm not like that, Mei?" Rui asked.
The Lambchop gave him a grin before pressing her hand against his chest, rubbing it in a suggestive manner. Aiyoku could see Rui's face pink lightly at the touch. "Mei can feel muscles; can tell Master fit even if master no work out."
"Well, now that we've got that cleared up." Aiyoku said, wanting to prevent Mei from taming Rui out in the open. "We should probably start getting packed up to head to Windy Shores."
The cities name caused the Fighting type to jump back from her master as if he was made out of lava, a scared look in her eyes. "Why go there?" She gasped, clearly distraught by the thought. "Family will find Mei there!"
Aiyoku gave Rui a glance, watching the young man hide a sigh, his shoulders slumping slightly. "We're going there to find my own family." The tamer answered the Pokegirl. "We've been told that he's been possibly been captured by one of the Team Clones and we thought that because of Windy Shores reputation, we might find some clue to where the Team might be."
Mei bit her lip, turning to Rui, reluctance clear as day on her face. "Does master have to go to Windy Shores?" She asked.
"Unless you happen to know where I can get information on a Team Rocket Clone somewhere else, no, I'm sorry. It's the best place to see if there's any information on them, if only because of the pirates they often have to deal with there and the general outlook on Pokegirls is sure to draw in Rocket Clones."
Mei sighed, but nodded in the end. Rui did have at least one good point about wanting to go to Windy Shores, even with his entire harem having misgivings against it. Smiling despite herself, Aiyoku stood and hugged her Master. "Well, then, if we're going to ever get there, I'd suggest we pack up and get going then."
Rui nodded in agreement, the party of four setting about the job of cleaning up camp.
"Make my breasts a bit bigger."
Rui couldn't help but roll his eyes, though he made sure to keep them closed as he did. Having finally reached the city of Windy Shores, The young tamer and his harem were all ready to go in and start snooping around for information on any known Team Rocket Clones operating in the area... that was until Lina pointed out the problem with that idea, mainly that a couple of newbies asking around for the local baddies wouldn't only raise a couple of eyebrows, but could get them in all kinds of trouble.
So, as it was, Rui was now outside the city limits, using the disguise spell he had learned from Aahz on Lina, making her look more then the Witch she was, having returned the rest of his Pokegirls to their Pokeballs. He had already used the spell to make the girl go from red-haired to blond, as well as change her complexion, giving her skin a dark hue. Honestly, Rui would have left it at that, but apparently Lina decided she wanted to be very specific in her look.
So where as he spent perhaps half a minute changing the Pokegirls hair and skin color to make her unrecognizable as Lina Inverse, they had spent another good twenty minutes working on her overall shape. Her lips were more pouty, her breasts had tripled in size, and her ass and hips had also become much more curvy. If Rui didn't know any better, he would have bet Lina was teasing him with the thought of this sexually appetizing Pokegirl, knowing that being the caster, the young man couldn't see his own illusion.
"Lina, we're trying to remain inconspicuous, remember? We can't really do that if you're going to be walking around with a look that's going to give half the city an erection." Rui said after the third time he had changed the Pokegirl's bust, making it appear more firm.
"I'm going for the 'Standing out to Blend in' kind of inconspicuous, Rui. Seriously, if we're going in there, doing what normal tamers and their Pokegirls do, we'll be fine. But if we go in, trying to be quiet and not associate with anyone, everyone is going to try and found out what we're up too." Lina replied, gazing down at her body, smiling a bit wildly.
The tamer just shook his head, not sure if he agreed with the idea, but knew that Lina would probably have her way in the end. "Alright then, but how about you use the spell then? That way you could look how ever you want?"
"Two reasons. One, I don't like using magic that I can't see the effects of. I'd rather have something visible to make sure it's working then have to rely on faith. Second, the spell that Aahz taught you uses a different kind of magic then I use, and while I could use it in the end, it wouldn't be as effective or as easy for me as it is for you." The Pokegirl explained before finally nodding with the final change. "Yeah, I think that's good enough."
"Really? What kind of magic do you use, Lina? In fact, just how many kinds of magic are there?" Rui asked, thanking the Thousand faiths that the Pokegirl was satisfied with her look.
"Well.." Lina said, looking thoughtful as the pair entered into the City. "There are four types of magic that I know of, I'm pretty sure they aren't the only ones, just either the most common or the ones I've ran into the most. The first is the kind of magic you seem to use: natural energy that's grows and is kept inside your body. That's the most common type of magic I've seen and one that most have. The second kind of magic is the kind I use is calling magic."
"Calling Magic?" Rui parroted, clearly confused.
"Well, it's kinda an odd sort of magic. Instead of using the magic that's naturally in ones body, I call on the powers of those who have stronger magic." She explained, gazing at her tamer. She let out a small sigh when she noticed his blank expression and Rui couldn't help but feel like she didn't explain it well enough. "Ok, think of it as this. Let's say that I'm a being of strong magic, right? Well, those who use calling magic can invoke my name to grant them powers and spells, usually representing what I stand for. So if I'm a magical creature of ice..."
"Then calling on your name for power would gift them with ice magic." Rui replied, figuring out. It actually made sense when you thought about it, being able to call upon magic from beings that either represented that element or had a large source of power. "So, who exactly do you call upon then for you're magic?"
"The Legendary Pokegirls." The Witch replied, causing Rui to stumble a bit. The Legendary Pokegirls? She called upon the strength of some of the strongest and most fearsome creatures on the planet to power her spells? Lina gave a giggle as she noticed the look on her tamers face.
"I'm serious, Rui. That's how I cast my spells, and I'm not the only one that does it either. In fact, that's how Sukebe set up Pokegirls in general since he gave the legendaries so much power, they needed to have some of it siphoned off by the Magic Pokegirls using it. It wouldn't be any good fighting against them, since I'd be basically going 'Hey, you, help me kill you.' but otherwise that's the basics of my magic."
"I'd just expect the magic to be a bit stronger if you're calling it from those girls." Rui said, the pair stopping at a stoplight, waiting for the option to cross, continuing on towards the Center. "I mean, we are talking about the very girls that have reshaped the planet."
"Well, don't forget, there's different levels of spells, Rui. Not only that, there are some spells that require a great amount of control. I know of this one girl who tried casting a higher level spell and ended up having the life sucked out of her. That's why Aahz and I were telling you to be careful."
"Right." Rui said, making a mental note to be very careful with any magic from this point forward. He didn't need to have his life ending any sooner the it already would. He winced as that thought crossed his mind, hoping never having the need to mention it to his harem. "What about the other two kinds of magic?"
"There a bit less common, but there are some who don't rely on their own powers or the powers of the legendary Pokegirls, but the magic of the land." Lina said, moving back into her lecture mode, apparently enjoying having an audience. "There are these special points in the world where magic can be drawn on by anyone, giving those even with no magical talent like you or me the ability to cast their own spells."
"Can anyone access those points?" The tamer asked, naturally curious about it all.
"Yeah, but most people don't, since the points can be dangerous to mix in with you're own magic if you aren't used to it. Tapping into a point to power up you're own spell might sound like a good idea, until it turns your simple Fireball spell into a Super nova."
Rui gulped as he thought of that. Good point.
"The final group of magic that I'm familiar with are ability magic. Instead of having the spells that everyone else has, these people have their own special abilities that are normally hard if not impossible to imitate even with magic. I know this one guy whose got the Ability magic that makes all fire magic around him stronger then it would be normally. It's interesting to see, but it's also pretty rare, definitely rarer then the other three."
"And you said that there's probably more magic out there that you aren't as familiar with?" Rui asked, letting his mind wrap around every kind of magic that his Pokegirl had informed him.
"Yep, almost certainly. Like Aahz said, there's a whole bunch of magic out there, and just what you learn and how you learn it can have a huge impact on what you can do with it. It's also a good idea to not mix up too many magics, since the end result could be anywhere from it doing nothing to it exploding in your face. In a lot of ways, Magic is like Science in that regard."
"I know a few people that would disagree with you on that point, but I can see the similarities." Rui smiled.
It was only after their discussion with each other that Rui noticed just how few Pokegirls were out and about. Most of the ones he noticed were low level types, a Titmouse here, a Growlie there. Nothing that would be overly threatening or would show off the power of a Pokegirl over a human. Then there was this odd feeling in the air. Almost as if there was something pressing on him. Rui just shook it off to the reluctance that his Pokegirls had shown to even enter the city.
Lina herself looked like she was enjoying the gazes and stares that she was getting from the men as she walked by. He had to restrain a chuckle, watching the Witch flaunt her magical talents for them, making sure to take a deep breath when one such man buying food from a store decided to check her melons compared to the ones he should have been buying. "Enjoying yourself, Lina?" He whispered to her, giving her rump a small squeeze, causing the pokegirl to blush both at the touch and the fact that she had been caught.
The center of Windy Shores was a sad thing to say the least when the pair finally got to it. The paint on it's walls was yellowed and pealing in places, the door had noticeable cracks in it, and the yard in the front was a clear contender to go against Skeeve's own, with weeds and unkempt grass left to grow free.
"I know this place isn't too keen on Pokegirl rights and all, but you'd think they'd at least give the Center some standard upkeep." Rui said, shaking his head at the state that the place was in. Lina herself gave a sad nod, brushing some of the weeds out of the way with her foot before heading inside, her tamer following right after.
The interior, if anything, was was worse then the exterior. The furniture had seen at least a few years of use, with holes in the cushions and a tear in the back of the seats. The walls, like their outside counterparts, also needed a fresh coat of paint to look presentable and there was more then one hole that could be seen in it.
"Welcome to the PokeCenter." The Nurse Joy greeted them from her spot behind the desk. She was an older member of the breed, might even be a PokeWoman if the slight graying in her normally vibrant pink hair. Regardless of how old she was, though, or how bad the city's reputation was, she still smiled wide, her greeting filled with happiness. "Can I help you with something?"
"Yes, could you give my harem a healing cycle?" Rui asked, handing the woman three Pokeballs.
"I'll take care of it right away. Do you and your Alpha need a room?" She asked, still smiling.
"No, don't worry about that, miss." Lina said before Rui could get a word out. "We'll check into a room later tonight. We're actually looking around for someone."
"Oh? Maybe I can help then?" She said, standing a little straighter.
"Only if you know the guy we're looking for." Lina said, turning her back to the nurse to lean against the table. Rui couldn't help but looked confused at the Pokegirl. Just what the heck was she going on about? They were here for rumors on a Team Clone, not someone specific. Lina turned to him to give a small wink before she gazed back at the Joy. "His name is Xellos."
