Game Over

Disclaimer: I…don’t…own…it.

This will be the explanation chapter. It might be long and boring, but I’ll try to make it better.

“Se…guchi…?” Shuichi stuttered.

“Amazing. He got it on the first try.” Mitsukai patted Shuichi’s head.

“Mitsi don’t be insulting.” Ryuichi walked past the smaller girl and pulled his friend into his arms. “You’d be in shock too.”

“I suppose. But still, you’d think he’d never heard my name before.”

“Well, from what I understand, hearing the name Seguchi brings fear to a person’s mind. The all powerful, omnipotent, terrifying, evil, sadistic, manipulative,…” Mika listed.

“Thank you Mika. Now I feel really loved.” Tohma placed a hand to his forehead. “I had no idea I was so scary.”

“Don’t even try to pull that innocent act Toh. You scare the hell out of anyone who comes within three feet of you, and you like it that way.” Mitsi pointed at Tohma.

Tohma shrugged in agreement. Shuichi coughed loudly and brought the focus back to him. He wriggled out of Ryuichi’s arms and stood.

“I will ask again very nicely. Would someone please explain to me what the hell is going on?!”

“Hey, Tohma?” Ryuichi asked. “I’m hungry. Can we go get something to eat?”

“Ryu’s right. Food would be a great idea.” Mika pulled on Shuichi, dragging him out to the car.

“So, I believe I owe you an explanation Shuichi. Since you were dragged into this whole mess. First off. As you have guessed, I’m Tohma’s younger sister. Eiri and I are roughly the same age. I went to New York with him and Tohma all those years ago. Around eight years ago, Suguru joined a band, your band. I was already in a band, and Nittle Grasper was talking about reforming. The three of us are all keyboardists, different levels of experience, but we all play the same instrument. The question came up amongst the family of who was the best player of the three of us. Most of the family was of the belief that Tohma was, since he had been playing the longest. Others believed it to be me, I’d studied the hardest. And still others thought it was Suguru, he was the youngest to join any kind of band. And so, we decided to have a contest.

“We all sat around and picked a single, extremely difficult, piece. Then one by one, we went to the recording studio and recorded it by ourselves. Those three tapes were delivered to the judges and the results sent back to us. ‘None is better than the other. All three play equal.’ Well, that just wasn’t fair. Suguru was only sixteen and he played just as well as me, or Tohma? It was unacceptable. So, the three of us sat down and decided that since our music skills were equal, what about our other skills? We decided to see how good our skills of manipulation were against each other. The challenge was: In the time frame of two years, you must set a goal to obtain something from the other two players. Write this goal down and place it in a safe deposit box. At the end of the two years, all players will open the box and if the assigned person achieved his or her goal, a fair price must be paid.

“Tohma, being the oldest, went first. His goal was to obtain 200,000 yen (about 2,000 dollars) from both me and Suguru, without swiping it from our paychecks. He is the president, remember? When the two years was up, Tohma came up short about 300 yen from me and about 700 yen from Suguru. He lost.

“Next it was my turn. My goal was to get both of them to leave the country. All they had to do was step outside the boundaries of Japan and I would win. Oh, one thing I forgot to mention is that each of us have what are called ‘protectors’. They make sure the game won’t do any lasting damage, and help us out when we need and extra body. Tohma’s protectors are Mika and Noriko. Suguru’s are Hiro and Tatsuha. Mine are Eiri and Ryuichi. Back to the challenge. I got Eiri to schedule a trip to New York. He never actually left. But he called Tohma from his cell phone, acted scared, and begged Tohma to come get him. True to form, Tohma left for New York two hours later. Once he was on that plane, I had won half of the game. Now I just had to get Suguru to leave. Every time I threw a reason for Suguru to leave the country in his path, something else always came up. When the two years was up, I had lost.

“Suguru went next. He didn’t do anything for about a year. Then, he called me and Tohma up and asked us out to lunch. Over lunch he informed us that he was not ready mentally to engage in the stakes this game held. He would not participate any longer. We were skeptical, but we still believed him. He isn’t nearly as cruel or manipulative as me or Tohma, although he can be, as he was that day. You see, while he was talking to us, The waiter, who had been paid, was slowly introducing more and more alcohol into the drinks he was serving to me and Tohma. After five or six rounds, we were both sloshed. Now when I get drunk, I’m very passive for about ten minutes, and then I become very violent. Tohma acts like Ryuichi for a while before he too becomes violent. Suguru’s goal was to get us to beat the crap out of each other. It almost worked to. Except for one thing. Transition time. Between the time of our initial drunk reactions and our final reactions, there is a third reaction. A transition reaction. It only lasts for about a minute total, and is hardly ever recognized. Tohma’s reaction time hit and Suguru knocked him into me, thinking he was becoming violent. Unfortunately what ensued, was a very heated battle for dominance, with our tongues. Now before this little incestuous make out session could get out of hand, as it was doing, Mika and Eiri stepped in and separated us. Tohma’s lust was transferred to his wife, and I collapsed in Eiri’s arms. Suguru lost that fight.

Another two years came and it was Tohma’s turn again. His goal this time was to get both me and Suguru to cling to him while crying. The perfect opportunity came when Suguru was in that car accident. He was out for a couple of days, but other than that he was perfectly fine. Tohma had the doctor convince Suguru that his hands were damaged beyond repair, and that he would never play the keyboard again. They bandaged his hands so he couldn’t tell. When Suguru broke down, Tohma caught him. Now it was me. Tohma’s plan was to have a couple of his body guards scare me, and then he would be there when I broke down at home. Unfortunately, what actually happened, was the bodyguards figured they’d been handed some free meat, and tried to take advantage of it. Thankfully Eiri and Tohma were close by, and prevented the worst from happening. Unfortunately it brought back memories of when I was raped at age fourteen. I ended up in my brothers lap, clinging to him and sobbing my eyes out. He had won.

“And then it was my turn again. I swore revenge, and I got it. My goal was to get both of them, mainly Tohma, on their knees begging me for something. I didn’t really care what, as long as they were begging for it. And, I won. Two years from now, it’s Suguru’s turn again, and hopefully, he’ll go easy on us.” Mitsi sat back and sipped her lemonade.

“Don’t bet on it. That’s the second time you’ve involved my hands, and I’ll make you pay dearly for it.” Suguru and Mitsi engaged in a staring contest.

“So it was all some game? But what about Eiri being in the hospital? And the knife you used on Mr. Seguchi? And when you beat me up?” Shuichi asked confusedly.

“Yes, it was a game. Most of Eiri’s injuries were faked. The two persons dressed in black were Mika and Tatsuha. They weren’t about to really hurt their brother. The knife was real. I wasn’t expecting you to drop through the door. When you did, I had to act quickly and make you believe I was really homicidal. The only way I could do that was to use brute force. I really am sorry for hurting you.”

Shuichi nodded his acceptance of the apology.

“So what are you going to do now?” The pink haired singer asked.

Mitsi turned her evil gaze on her brother.

“Tohma’s got to accept his punishment.”

“And just what, is my punishment to be?”

“You are taking me on a 24 hour shopping spree!”

“WHAT?!”

***************
That’s the end. Should I do a sequel? How Suguru exacts his revenge perhaps?

Just a few little authors notes:
1. At the end of the first chapter when Tohma collapses on the ground and his shoulders start shaking, he is actually laughing at the hilarious antics of Shuichi, because the poor kid doesn’t know that Mitsi isn’t serious.
2. In the chapter where Shuichi finds Eiri on the bed unconscious, Eiri is wet. This is not blood. It’s just water they threw on him to make Shuichi freak out, and to make Eiri’s skin feel very cold.
3. Eiri really did hit Tohma. Eiri didn’t know Mitsi was in town until she showed up at his door with Mika and Tatsuha.
4. Where was Mitsi staying? She was with Ryuichi.
5. If you have any questions about things that were not clarified in the story, please feel free to e-mail me at sugar_lee_42@hotmail.com. I would love to hear from you!
