Chapter Seven
Aya cursed his luck at having been caught by a traffic light. There had been just enough distance between him and Yohji that only the blond was able to cross before the light changed. Dammit, the idiot wasn’t paying any attention. It was then that Aya noticed someone in a dark coat with the hood pulled up was following Yohji.
“Yohji, snap out of it. You’re being tailed,” he said into the transmitter on his wrist. He watched as Yohji seemed to straighten up before being lost in the crowd. Dammit, how the fuck long was this light, Aya thought. Thankfully, they were pretty close to the alleyway that the two of them had determined earlier would be a good place to lure anyone who was found to be tailing Yohji.
Just as the light finally changed, Aya heard scuffling through his headset. He was hurrying to join his lover when, suddenly, Yohji spoke a name that Aya thought never to hear again.
“What…” Yohji’s voice came over the earpiece.
“This is for Neu,” a cold voice responded.
Aya was already running when he heard the unmistakable hiss of a bullet being fired through a silencer. Reaching for his own gun tucked in the back of his pants, Aya cleared the alleyway entrance and found Yohji slumped on the ground with a gun now aimed at his head. With no time to spare, Aya raised his weapon and fired. It seemed like an eternity before the woman went down and Aya rushed to his lover’s side.
******
After entering the alleyway and turning around, Yohji’s pause from shock was the worst thing he could have done. He couldn’t believe that he was looking into the eyes of Tot from Schrient. “What…”
“This is for Neu.” The voice was as frigid and emotionless as the eyes staring him down.
Yohji was about to speak when his world exploded in pain and then everything went dark.
Yohji didn’t think he was out that long when he woke to Aya above him, shaking him slightly while calling out his name. “Dammit, Aya, stop that. It hurts.” Even with the Kevlar vest, he was sure to have a couple of bruised ribs at the very least from the close range shot. Cradling his left side with his arms, he looked over to the woman lying near him, a bullet in her head.
“Why would Tot have waited all these years to come after me? It makes no sense.” Yohji looked at Aya as if he had the answers.
“I don’t know and now we never will.” Yohji shivered from the coldness in Aya’s voice. He watched Aya pull out his phone and request a clean-up crew be sent to their current location. His lover’s expression changed to a bit of remorse as he said the name of the person he’d taken down. Yohji realized that Aya must be talking to Nagi and that Aya remembered the kiss Yohji had told him he’d witnessed all those years ago.
After he finished the call, Aya bent down to help Yohji up. “Come on, let’s get you back to the hotel and see what you’ve done to yourself this time.”
“Ow, ow, ow, dammit, *I* didn’t do it,” Yohji complained as he was assisted to his feet. His whole left side was on fire and all he wanted to do was take a few pain pills and sleep for a month. Maybe then no one would be trying to kill him anymore.
Aya looked at him thoughtfully and then dialed another number. When Aya began speaking, Yohji realized it was Dr. Hirano on the phone. Aya asked him to meet them at the hotel when he could get away from his patients and disconnected the call. They slowly made their way back to Aya’s car, and Yohji sighed in relief when he was finally seated. He closed his eyes and tried to pass out just to avoid the pain.
Whether he succeeded or not, the next thing Yohji knew was that they were arriving at the hotel entrance. Aya came around to help him out of the car and up to their room. He sat Yohji on the bed then began to undress him. When his shirt and the Kevlar were stripped from him, Yohji heard Aya’s quick intake of breath and he quickly glanced at the left side of his chest. It was already a mass of colorful bruises.
“Hmm, looks like when you poke me all the time,” Yohji tried to joke about the injury, but hissed in pain when he chuckled at Aya’s expression.
“That’s what you get,” Aya said a little arrogantly, then seemed to relent. “Do you have any pain pills left?”
Yohji nodded, “In the nightstand drawer.” He still had a few from the last injury. Yohji watched Aya cross to the mini-fridge and get him a bottle of water before opening the drawer to retrieve a painkiller. Aya sat on the edge of the bed as he handed over both the pill and water. Using half the bottle to wash the medication down, Yohji set the water aside and slid beneath the bedcovers, closing his eyes with a tired sigh.
When he felt the Aya rise from the bed, he opened them again as he asked, “Can you lay down with me?”
Aya looked at him for a moment and then nodded. He walked around to the other side of the bed and lay down next to Yohji’s right side, placing an arm across his stomach and hip.
Between the medication and contentment of Aya being close by, Yohji drifted off to sleep.
*****
“A~ya, I’m bored.”
Aya, seated on the sofa, looked up from the book he was reading. He was about to toss Yohji off the balcony. Almost three days of the man’s whining and Aya was seriously questioning his sanity when he decided to come back to Japan and look for the idiot. To be fair to Yohji, Aya probably wouldn’t have been that happy to be stuck in bed for that long, but the doctor didn’t want to take any chances with Yohji’s ribs.
“Just shut up and take a nap or watch some TV. I don’t know why you don’t like to read. It would make the time go by much faster.” Aya tried to return to his novel but turned his book over in his lap when Yohji started to speak again.
“I like to read, just not for hours on end like you do. And there’s nothing on TV to watch plus I’m not tired. Unless you want to come over and tire me out,” Yohji said with a hopeful look on his face.
“The doctor said no physical activity for a week. And that would include sex.” Aya crossed his arms. He really didn’t want to enforce that rule either and was beginning to become as frustrated as Yohji.
“Come on, Aya. You know I heal fast. It doesn’t even hurt to breathe if I don’t take a deep breath or laugh. Let’s have some fun. I’m gonna get blue balls if we don’t have sex soon.” Yohji’s voice lowered an octave as he said, “Don’t tell me you don’t want me.”
Aya watched as Yohji carefully rolled to his side, casting the blankets aside and posing himself in a very sexy manner. Because he was already horny, that only brought to the surface what Aya had been trying to suppress for the past couple of days. He felt his face flush and his cock twitch in his pants. Aya watched Yohji lick his lips and focus his gaze on Aya’s crotch so the man had to have noticed his reaction.
With a defeated sigh, Aya marked his page then closed his book. “You should really wear something to bed, you know.” Normally he didn’t care about what Yohji *didn’t* wear to bed, but he had a hard time ignoring that sculpted body before him. As skinny as Yohji looked in clothes, his body was lightly defined by muscle that made Aya’s mouth go dry when thinking of caressing it, kissing it, fucking it... Hmm, maybe there was a way to keep Yohji’s movements limited while satisfying them both.
He stood up and undressed, laying his clothes carefully over the arm of the couch before crossing the room to the bed. Yohji watched every movement and was fully erect when Aya leaned down to encircle Yohji’s cock with his hand. “What do you think?”
Yohji did the same to Aya’s dick and said, “I guess you want me as badly as I want you.”
“Then you are going to do as I tell you or no sex, agreed?” Aya fought and won against groaning when Yohji stroked him.
“Uh-huh,” Yohji nodded as he agreed.
Aya stepped back and grabbed the covers, draping them near the foot of the bed. Next he helped Yohji lay on his back crosswise along the width of the mattress. “Looks promising so far,” Yohji said with a grin.
Knowing that his lover had an idea of what he had in mind, Aya moved to where Yohji’s legs were just barely hanging off the bed. He began to kiss his way up beginning at Yohji’s feet. Aya skirted around the proud erection, Yohji moaning and spreading his legs, but to no effect. Aya continued to kiss Yohji until he reached his bruised skin, where he placed soft kisses to that area while tweaking Yohji’s nipples; he stopped when Yohji’s breathing increased. Looking up at his lover, he asked, “Any pain?”
Lips parted, skin flushed with passion, Yohji looked so fucking hot while he shook his head. “No, I’m good. Come here. I want to kiss you.”
Aya gave one more caress to the multi-colored area then rested against Yohji side opposite from the injury and kissed him while caressing the side of his lover’s face, threading fingers in golden locks. Their tongues met and began an erotic dance that soon had Aya breathless but loath to stop the action. He adored kissing Yohji and it seemed that the man felt the same as he tangled a hand in Aya’s hair, keeping their faces together to prevent ending the kiss.
When they finally broke off the embrace, both were breathing a bit heavy. Aya felt ready to burst and as he stroked a hand over Yohji’s cock, the way his lover moaned and thrust up led him to believe Yohji was, too.
Careful not to jiggle the bed too much, Aya got onto his knees and climbed to where Yohji’s head rested. He couldn’t resist one more kiss then straddled Yohji head, bending over so his mouth was inches away from Yohji’s cock. He wrapped his hand around its base; his tongue lapped at the precum dribbling out and then he moaned when Yohji’s lips wrapped around the head of his own dick. With part of his mind enjoying the feel of Yohji’s mouth engulfing his erection, he began to nibble and suck on the cock in his hand.
Opening his mouth wide, he slowly let Yohji’s impressive length enter as he made a conscious effort to relax his throat muscles. He bobbed his head back and forth, taking a little more each time until his nose was buried in blond curls. As he backed away, he moaned around the crown of Yohji’s dick, his tongue teasing the slit before sliding his mouth back down.
Aya got into a rhythm, as did Yohji, but then his hips began to take on a life of their own and thrust into Yohji’s hot mouth. His own movements over Yohji’s cock became faster and he increased the suction. Aya was getting so close, felt his balls drawing up and barely had time to warn Yohji before letting the cock fall from his lips as he cried out loudly his ecstasy. He shuddered over Yohji, careful not to lean against his lover, then finally had the presence of mind to finish what he’d started. A little breathless, he used his hand to stroke Yohji’s cock faster and faster while lapping the tip until he could once more suck it into his mouth. Yohji began to chant his name, his hips thrusting up, body growing tense until finally he gasped out Aya’s name and came in his mouth.
Aya swallowed all of the bittersweet essences before releasing Yohji’s cock. A little unsteady, he climbed off of Yohji to lie against his right side, his hand sliding across Yohji’s chest to once again tangle in his hair as he flung a leg across Yohji’s thighs.
“There, not so bored?” Aya asked a bit sleepily.
“Not right now, though I think I need a nap,” Yohji murmured in a content voice. Which was exactly what Aya had had in mind when he agreed to this, well mostly, he thought with satisfaction.
“Maybe I’ll join you.” Aya snagged the blankets from the bottom of the bed while Yohji straightened out on the bed. Aya covered them both then returned to curl into Yohji once more before drifting off to sleep.
******
Yohji woke to find Aya playing with his hair, combing his hand again and again through the strands. Smiling, he asked, “Miss me?”
“Idiot.” Aya snorted, squeezing his hand for a moment pulling Yohji’s hair.
“But I’m your idiot,” Yohji said with a slight wince then sigh when Aya continued what he’d been doing before.
Aya didn’t say anything and Yohji began to frown. “Aren’t I?”
“Yes,” Aya said with a distracted look on his face.
“What’s wrong?” Yohji didn’t like the feeling he was getting from the stilted conversation.
Aya’s eyes focused back onto Yohji and, with a sigh, he replied, “Yohji, I have to return to England soon.”
Yohji bolted up in surprised and then let out a stream of curses when his ribs protested. Curled up in pain, he felt Aya sit up and stroke his back. Riding out the throbbing ache until it dwindled before speaking, Yohji tried to figure out exactly what Aya was trying to say. “You’re leaving me again?” was all he could manage through the haze of pain, both physical and mental.
“No, I mean…” Aya paused and Yohji turned to look at him. There was a hesitant expression on his face.
“Aya, what the hell do you mean then?” Yohji was starting to get upset with the way this was going.
He watched Aya take a deep breath and then say, “Yohji, I have commitments in London and I have to return. I can’t ask you to come with me, to leave everything behind that you…”
“Why the hell not? Why can’t you ask me? Don’t you want me to be with you? I thought you loved me. Wasn’t that why you came back? To find me?” Yohji asked angrily.
“But you’d have to leave Tokyo and everything you know to live in a foreign country. Speak a total different language, get used to another culture.” Aya looked earnestly into Yohji’s eyes. “I don’t want you to hate me for taking you away from everything you love.”
Yohji grabbed the back of Aya’s neck and dragged him forward to kiss the fool silly. “I don’t fucking care where I am as long as I’m with you. My life has been total shit since we parted. Nothing is as important to me as you are. Nothing.”
Aya offered a tentative smile and stroked a finger along Yohji’s jaw. “I feel the same but I have obligations. Yohji, I’m still an assassin. Can you deal with that? What if you have to join our organization in order to remain with me?”
“Fuck yeah, I’m going to join. Do you think I’m going to remain behind while you go out into danger each night? No way in hell.”
“But Yohji…”
“No fucking ‘buts’. I’ve made my decision,” Yohji said with a growl in his voice. “I know you’re thinking of my breakdown but I’m serious. It was less about being an assassin than it was about killing Neu. I’ve finally come to terms with it, Aya. I can’t let another person I love go into danger and then sit back being safe. That would drive me back to insanity for sure. At least this way I have a fighting chance.”
Aya looked at him in amazement for several moments then leaned in for another kiss. When they finally parted, Aya said, “I think I forgot to mention this earlier, but Ken is a part of Krypton Brand. He’s going to be quite surprised when I show up with you.”
“Ken? Really?” Yohji said in surprise. “I can’t believe it. It’ll be almost like before…” Yohji’s voice trailed off. No, it really wouldn’t. Back when they were Weiβ, the four of them were more like a family. It would never be quite the same. Omi was no longer there and he found that he really missed the early years before everything went to hell. At least he could look back on the good times without too much regret.
“We’ll talk to Mamoru to get you the correct travel documents. He has a few contacts and can see that you get the proper visas to remain in England.” Aya was watching Yohji closely as he said, “Are you sure, Yohji? Really sure?”
“I’ve never been more certain of anything else in my life. I can’t live without you. I love you too much. As long as you feel the same, I’ll be by your side no matter where it is,” Yohji declared vehemently.
“I do, Yohji. I’ve always loved you. No one else… ever.” Aya initiated the next kiss that was full of all the love he’d promised to Yohji.
When they finally parted, Yohji said, “Well, how about we check out of this place and move to my apartment so I can start packing? Can you stay another week or so while I get things squared away?”
Aya nodded. “That’s fine. This way we’ll still have a bit more private time to ourselves. Krypton Brand all live in the same house. Oh, and Yohji? Our day jobs are as florists.”
“WHAT?!”
******
Aya was riding on the subway when he began to feel anxious. The next stop was his and he couldn’t get off quickly enough and exit so he could call Yohji. For some reason, he had a bad feeling about his lover. There was no answer as he headed toward the restaurant where they were supposed to meet at for dinner.
Yohji had remained home to pack while Aya decided to go and see his sister before stopping by Mamoru’s office. He hadn’t contacted her, Yohji still hadn’t convinced him to do so, but he went to that spot across from the Koneko and watched the shop. He was rewarded with Aya-chan watering the plants and flowers outside and was able to observe her undetected.
After hanging out there for almost an hour, he then went to meet with Mamoru, who had all Yohji’s travel documents arranged. As he picked them up, he’d thought back to the other day, Yohji’s meeting with the young man. It had been quite a shock for his lover to witness Omi’s complete transition to Mamoru. Aya had not been surprised when Yohji didn’t want to see him again to collect his papers. He’d really been upset by the loss of ‘Omi’.
And now Aya was rushing to the restaurant, hoping that Yohji had just forgotten his cell phone. Trying to hold on to that thought, Aya entered the building and began searching for his blond lover. The fear began to take hold when Aya didn’t spot him.
“May I help you?” The hostess, a young woman, asked Aya.
“I was supposed to meet a friend here. Tall, blond with green eyes and sunglasses.” Aya replied.
“Oh yes, he was seated here a while ago over there by the window. A young woman came in and it seemed they were surprised to see each other. A few minutes later, he stopped by to say he would be right back but was going to help her with a flat tire.” The hostess checked her watch. “That was about ten minutes ago.”
Aya frowned and asked for a description of the woman. As the hostess described her, Aya’s blood ran cold and he bolted from the restaurant to check out the parking lot adjacent to the building. There was no sign of Yohji, and he knew deep in his heart that his lover was in the hands of the real person who had been behind the attempts on Yohji’s life. About to despair, he suddenly remembered what he’d done the other day and hurried to Yohji’s apartment. Maybe, just maybe, if the gods were willing, he’d find Yohji in time.

“WHAT?!”
