Chapter Seven
It's not a huge update, but it's something. Thank you for my reviews! You don't know how much you guys motivate me. All two of you...Hmmmm...hahahahahahaha!
Umiko stood in front of her closet, debating what to wear. She taken a shower and she felt she needed to do something. Try and start the day again. She didn’t want Yuki Eiri throwing her around like a rag doll to be the only thing that happened to her today. She finally decided on a white sun dress with red and pink strawberries on it. The dress reminded her of Shuichi. That was why she’d bought it in the first place. She needed to feel close to him. She had just pulled it over her head when her cellphone began ringing.
“Hello?”
“Shuichi needs you. Come over now.”
Umiko gasped when she heard the click. Things must be really bad if HE was calling her. Sighing, she closed the phone and headed for the living room. How do you tell your sort of boyfriend that you had to go back to the place you just got roughed up at? Hiro was not going to be happy. He was going to be even less happy when she told him she was going alone.

She stood outside the door. She couldn’t bring herself to open it. She almost didn’t want to. Clenching a fist to her chest to steel her resolve, she slowly reached for the doorknob. When the door opened before she could touch it, she almost screamed. When she saw Yuki standing in the doorway, she almost fainted.
“So, you’re who he called to fix Shuichi, eh?”
“Yuki-san...I..” Umiko slowly backed away from him. She didn’t want to be within range. She certainly didn’t want to be his target either.
“Calm down. I’m not going to do anything. I’m leaving.”
“Leaving?”
“Yes,” Eiri placed a cigarette between his lips and inhaled. He held the smoke in, savoring it before slowly exhaling. “It seems I’m not welcome in my own home at the moment.” He turned to look at Umiko. He could see that she was afraid of him. He never wanted that. He knew what it was like to fear someone. Fear could kill faster than his cigarettes ever could.
“Your eye,” Umiko said. She saw the bruising. What the hell had happened here after she’d left. Instinctively she reached out to touch his left eye. Yuki moved quickly and held her wrist.
“Don’t. It’s fine. Don’t touch me.”
Umiko’s eyes widened. “Why do you hate me so much, Yuki-san,” she whispered. “What did I do? How can I fix it?”
He leaned in close to her, close to her ear. “I don’t hate you,” he whispered back. “I hate what you are. What I’m not...”
“Eiri.”
The strong voice echoed through the hall and Yuki turned around. He smirked and dropped Umiko’s hand.
“You all have fun at your little pity party,” Yuki said and made his way down the hall.
Umiko just stood and looked at the figure in the door. He smiled back at her.
“Sakuma-san, what the HELL is going on?”
“Nothing that can’t be fixed.” With that, Sakuma Ryuichi launched himself and Kumagoro at Umiko and held her in a hug that squeezed most of her breath out of her body. She managed to get out from under him and right herself.
“Damn it, Sakuma! Don’t you know better than to knock a girl off her feet like that? I’m in a dress for crying out loud.
“I know. Your panties are pink. Boy shorts. Very nice.”
She felt her face turn three shades of red. Was nothing sacred to these people? Just as she was about to give a clever retort, Ryuichi turned serious.
“He’s in the bedroom. And there’s some blood in the hall.”
She nodded, turned and entered the apartment. There was still glass on the floor from the broken picture. That didn’t explain the small streaks of blood on the wall in the hallway. She didn’t want to know. She just continued till she came to the open doorway of the bedroom.
Shuichi was lying in the middle of the bed, covered only by a towel around his waist. She walked around the bed, kneeled down and peered into Shuichi’s face. He’d been crying.
“Shuichi?” she whispered.
His eyes slowly opened.
“Umiko!” he said and reached for her. He started crying and she just lay there next to him. Holding him. She heard a movement across the room and then the weight shifted on the bed. She looked up and saw Sakuma on the other side of Shuichi. He reached across Shuichi until he was holding them both. They just lay there, listening to Shuichi cry. Hoping that they could communicate how much they loved him by their touch. Soon, the crying stopped and Shuichi was sleeping. Umiko couldn’t bring herself to let him go and it seemed Sakuma couldn’t either. So, they stayed, and fell asleep with him.
