Naru and Mei sat side by side on the couch. They had just returned from visiting their parents and breaking the news to them. Things had gone better than expected. Their mother had taken it much better than their father did. She had always suspected Naru would like girls, and had known how fond Mei was of Naru. Their father had gone through an array of reactions. The first being shock, then disbelief, then denial, then he just got frustrated and stormed off. Their mother had told them that she would talk to him when he calmed down.

Another reason they had gone home was because Mei was moving in with Naru and they had gone to get her things. Their mother was a little saddened at the thought of both her daughters no longer living at home but accepted their decision and only asked that they took care of each other. The trip back was quiet. Mei was heavily upset by they way their father had reacted. She thought he hated them now and was trying her best not to cry.

Now the two sisters/lovers were waiting for the residents of the Inn to come downstairs and join them so they could tell them too. Keitaro had gone to let them know at the request of Naru who wanted to comfort Mei who was still upset. She pulled Mei into her arms and kissed her forehead. She rubbed Mei’s back and Mei finally let it all go. She cried into her sister’s shoulder, letting out the flood of emotion she had been trying to hold back.

“Daddy hates us now.”

“Don’t say that, he doesn’t hate us. And if he does he has no right to call himself our father.”

“B-but…”

“No buts. Mom is going to talk to him and set things straight. Don’t you worry about it.”

“But…”

“I said no buts. Now listen to me. It doesn’t matter what anyone says. It will not change how I feel about you or the fact that I’ll always be with you, no matter what.”

Mei looked into her sister’s eyes, “Nee-san…”

Naru pinched Mei’s cheek, “I told you not to call me that anymore.”

After sorting everything out, everyone was present and waiting to hear what was going on. Although Motoko already had a pretty good hunch of what it was. All eyes were on Naru and Mei. Mei was hiding behind her sister who was standing in front of everyone else. Naru took a deep breath and mentally prepared herself for the worst possible reaction.

“Everyone, Mei and I need to tell you something. Motoko and Keitaro already know, and Shinobu kinda saw already. Mei and I are in love…with each other.”

Silence filled the room. Mei clung tightly to her sister, afraid of how they were going to react. They seemed surprised, but nothing more than that. Haruka just continued to smoke her cigarette, Su didn’t seem to mind, but then again she was the one who proposed that she, Naru and Keitaro should be lovers not too long after Keitaro became the manager. Kitsune was speechless for a minute, but managed to find her voice.

“What about Keitaro?”

Naru took a glance at him, “We decided to just be friends.”

Kitsune grinned, “So you dumped him.”

Naru felt a pang of guilt, “I guess you could put it that way. But what I want to know is if you guys are okay with me and my sister being lovers.”

Kitsune shook her head, “I got nothing against it. You’re my best friend Naru. Besides, this means that Keitaro is available now.”

Keitaro suddenly noticed that nearly all the girls in the room were staring at him. He felt a chill run down his spine and became uncomfortable. Shinobu who had been sitting next to him had scooted a little closer, a light blush on her face.

Naru felt relieved, “So none of you have anything against it?”

Kitsune, Su and Shinobu just shook their heads ‘no’. Haruka took a drag on her cigarette. Naru thought that if anybody had issues with her and Mei’s relationship, it would be Haruka. Fortunately she was wrong.

Haruka finished her cigarette, “I’m honestly not that surprised. Although I never would have guessed you’d have ended up with your sister Naru. And even though society frowns on this type of relationship, I support you both one hundred percent.”

Naru couldn’t believe it, “Really?”

Haruka nodded, “Really. It’s hard for me not to. I understand how you feel. The Urashima family is full of bisexuals.”

All the girls turned to look at Keitaro who was in a state of shock at what he just heard. Haruka scratched the back of her head.

“Well the women of the Urashima family. In fact Keitaro’s mother and I experimented when we were girls.”

An awkward silence filled the room. Keitaro looked like he had been turned to stone. The silenced was finally broken by Su.

“Are bisexuals something good to eat?”

It was just another normal day at the Hinata Inn.
