Interception
Lord Patamon: About the gato/pata, I\'m having issues figuring out how it works. That, and I wasn\'t planning a beastxbeast, moreso a beastxhuman. I dunno. As for Tai, I\'m having issues with the personalities of some of the characters, especially Tai. I might actually use the substance abuse suggestion to excuse my lack of ability to nail the characters.
Chapter Seven - "Interception"
What is the definition of murder? Isn\'t it an act that causes someone to die? Then by that definition, I\'m not a murderer. But if one considers murder to be the cause of death, be it anything, then I am. If I leave someone where I left them, is that an act, or is that more closely a lack of an act? Is an act defined as something that someone expressly does, or does it include something one doesn\'t do? Even then; is simply LETTING someone die, is that - murder? What do you think, Wormmon?...

"Is there any way I can plug that computer in without Tai hearing it?" Kari mused, staring at the cord, resting on her floor.
"Not with that old thing; the moniter pinging on and demagnetizing would alert him, then if not that, the grinding fan or the \'Welcome Kari\' sound would. Cody would message us if something was wrong." TK replied, sitting next to Kari on her bed. He slipped an arm around her and pulled her closer, as if to console her.
"I guess I just need to let go; Cody\'s big enough to take care of himself. It\'s not like he\'s taking on the Kaiser all alone." Kari rested her head on TK\'s shoulder. "Maybe I\'m worried about nothing."
"You just need to get your mind off it, Kari. Do you want to go watch TV and eat some pizza?"
"Not really. I\'m still mad at Tai. Besides, I\'ve got a TV if you want to watch something, TK." Kari was honestly content, as rocky as that term was at the moment, simply resting on her year-long lover. The relationship hadn\'t been easy; especially when they didn\'t want anyone to know about it. Now with Davis madly crushing on her, keeping it a secret was important. She didn\'t want to hurt poor Davis. Just keep him at arm\'s length.
"I think we\'re just hyper-sensitive. I mean, look how young we were when we became digidestined."
"Maybe. We had alot of scary moments, especially with Myotismon. Maybe you\'re right, TK. Maybe we\'re just worried because he\'s young like we were. But we never had to walk into Myotismon\'s lair with only one digimon and a stick."
"Cody\'s pretty strong, Kari. He can give most digimon a run for their money. Ankylomon can, too." TK leaned himself back, flopping aimlessly onto Kari\'s pillow. She too followed, and cuddled herself against TK\'s side with a soft sigh.
"At least I have you here with me; if I were alone, I\'d be going crazy."
"I dunno, Kari. When you\'re mad, you look pretty crazy..." Kari shot him a look, but when she saw his playful smile, she softened some.
"You\'re not Mister Galliant yourself, TK." she shot back, returning his smile.
"I\'m not that bad when I\'m not mad though, right?"
"Who said anything about you being mad? Mister Galliant..." TK stuck his tounge out at her, which made Kari laugh faintly. He was so light hearted; she loved it. Once his tounge was out of the way, she granted him a soft, tender kiss, which was reciprocated almost immediately by TK. He wrapped his arms around her, holding her close, as if to keep her there. It was almost like he was worried she was going to leave; at the moment, that wasn\'t going to happen. Kari relaxed onto his chest a bit more, letting her eyes close. She could stay here forever with TK. It just seemed to make sense with him, even when nothing did. TK\'s mind flashed with Tai\'s line about the condom, and the thought of it drew him to think of why he\'d need to use one. That image made him grow a bit more excited, and as if a subconsious reaction of that, his hand slid along her side. Kari gasped, not expecting such a move, and quickly attempted to cover her shock by falsely deepening the kiss she\'d given him. TK, thinking this was a good thing, slipped his hand under her shirt, and drifted it up to her breast, where he cupped it softly. Kari knew something like that was coming, and frankly, didn\'t mind. In fact, as their lips danced about together, she shifted her chest in a way that let him get at her more easilly. TK followed her motion and moved her onto her back, and leaned atop her. Her shirt was now halfway up her form, and TK had strategically placed his hips atop hers, so she could feel how eager he was. This would be a first for them, if he got it. Kari wasn\'t showing any resistance, and as his palm caressed her breast, it was looking as though tonight would be the night.
BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP!
Kari rolled TK off her, and flew to the messager that was on her side table. Her face looked odd for a second, then she tilted it so TK could read it. "TBLFJNWLSFNSD" read the message on Kari\'s messager. TK\'s face contorted as well, and after a moment, they stared at it with realization.
"CODY!" they exclaimed. That was the last straw. Kari flew off her bed, and tore open the door to her room.
"TK, get the computer going." she spoke over her shoulder, and dashed over to Tai, hitting the power on the TV. Dispite Tai\'s groaning reply, she shoved the messager in his face. "That\'s from Cody\'s messager." she spoke, almost angrilly, as if it were Tai\'s fault. After a second, Tai\'s eyes flicked from the message up to Kari.
"I\'ll call Matt and the others. We\'ll wait on standby for backup if you need us, and you message Yolei and Davis. I\'m sorry, I was wrong..." he spoke, then grabbed the phone. Kari really didn\'t have the mind enough to think about his sudden admission of wrong, but the look on his face showed that he too had been thinking about Cody. Kari began working on sending out a 911 message to the other two as TK got the computer going.
"Come on come on come ON. Kari, invest in a newer computer!" TK spoke, which was ignored by the girl.
"911. Digital emergency. Guys, scramble - STAT." she typed in, almost too quickly, and sent it to the other two. Tai was busy dialing the original digidestined, using the same staple message.
"Hey, it\'s Tai. Cody\'s mission went wrong, we\'re all on stand by. Be ready to get to the digital world asap, we may have a battle on our hands." After he\'d given each message, he hung up, not really thinking that someone else might have answered the phone. They all had cell phones anyways; the chance of that was slim.
"Okay! She\'s on! I sent a hail beacon for Patamon and Gatomon, they should be near a portal soon." TK called out. Kari found her way to the machine quickly, and the two pulled out their digivice.
"I\'ll leave my messager here, Tai. TK will text you if we need you." she spoke, and just as quickly, the two vanished into the moniter. Tai sighed faintly. He felt something had been up; but he wanted to believe Cody was fine...

Cody\'s eyes flickered open, as the pain had somehow subsided. But, wherever he was - it was not where he\'d been before. His limbs weren\'t chained, and wherever this was, he was now face down in some sort of cool grass. The cool was a more than welcome contact, given what he\'d just seemingly woken up from. Cody drew his arms from their tee shape aside him to push himself up, dragging his form to a stance. He blinked a few times at the sight before him; it was most definetly the plant life of the digital world, but everything was varying shades of black and ashen blue; Navies, denims, and powdered ice tones. It was almost as if everything had been envelloped in darkness. Everything around him looked so fake, so empty, so dead. It looked like he was truly the only living thing around here. What was this place? He stepped in no particular direction, hoping to find some sort of life, or something to tell him what on earth had happened to him.
