Beautiful day

I'm in love it's a beautiful day
I'm in love it's a beautiful way
I don't care what the weatherman say
It's a beautiful day

I've got you
I'm never blue
Close my eyes and my wishes come true
Need you so
You never know
Come with me it's a beautiful day
I do believe if I tried
I do believe I can fly
Fall through a hole in the sky
Say you'll catch me

I'm in love it's a beautiful day
I'm so high it's a beautiful day
I don't care if it's cloudy and grey
it's a beautiful day

I do believe if I tried
I do believe I can fly
Fall through a hole in the sky
Say you'll catch me

Beautiful Day - Dj Melodie

Allen glared at Kanda’s broad back. His hands tightening on the luggage handles until they groaned in protest. Why did Bakanda have to come anyway? He tried to remind himself that Tim had captured the true nature of his attack on Aleia. He hadn’t really been using full strength, still enough to seriously hurt her.

It was after that confused Allen. What Tim had seen through the door of the medical ward. Kanda touching her face so gently, like she was made of fragile glass and infinitely precious to him. Those touches, the soft kiss, all were at odds with the words he had spoken to her.

Kanda ignored him and the presence of two burning spots on his back as he boarded the ship. Behind him, Allen carried the bags and Aleia clung to his arm. When they reached the top of the plank, Allen set the bags down.

He lifted Aleia to help her over the rough edge, mildly surprised when Kanda took her from his grasp and set her safely on the deck.

At that moment a burly deckhand sidled closer, “I would be happy to see the lady to her accommodations“ he said, barely managing to pronounce the word. Kanda glared at him “I’ll take her to the cabins” he said then and Allen watched as he led her away. Keeping his body angled just ahead of hers to take any bumps or jostling.

He glanced up at Tim, “Maybe he does care.” He sighed, this was going to be a long trip. No Lenalee, no Lavi….for nearly a month. He planned to return to headquarters once she was settled.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“That was a little rude” she berated him quietly. His hand was at her lower back, gently ushering her along, his keen eyes making certain there was nothing to stumble over.
“Hn”
“And you could at least dignify me with an answer Kanda. He seemed nice enough.”
“He’s a sailor” he replied as though this answered completely.
“And?” she prompted.
“They aren’t that nice.”
“How do you know?” Was he jealous?
“Hunch”
“Maybe he was different, we might have gotten on splendidly.” she goaded him.
He pushed open her cabin door, eyes scanning for danger before pulling her inside and kicking the door shut.
“Could have been the love of my life” she muttered just to irk him.
“Not possible” Kanda replied coolly.
She blinked, “Why not?”
“He was ugly.”
She laughed outright at him. She placed her hand on his arm. “Are you jealous?” He tensed under her arm and she felt it.
BINGO!
“Why would I be?” he asked in a highly offended voice.
She sighed, “No idea. None. What. So. Ever”
He growled at her.
“You are glaring at me aren’t you?”
“Yes.”
She chuckled, “Won’t work, can’t see it. Impossible to intimidate me now.”
He sat her on her bed, “Stay here, I am going to find Moyashi” he said imperiously then turned to go, but before he left she heard him mutter, “Impossible to intimidate anyway.”
The cabins were small but adequate. Allen groaned as he set the bags down, looked like he was to bunk with Kanda for this voyage. Turning he went across the narrow hall to the room designated to be Aleia’s.
He knocked once and then opened the door. Aleia was sitting on the low bed, Kanda leaning against the wall nearby. Close enough, Allen noticed, that Aleia could touch him. “Took you long enough Moyashi” he said.
“Allen!” the white haired man growled back. His voice must have startled Aleia for her small hand tapped against Kanda’s leg before settling back to the bed. Almost as though he were a worry stone for her.
Aleia turned at his voice and patted the bed beside her, “Allen why don’t you sit down and rest for a while? You must be starving.”
At that moment his stomach growled loudly. He scratched the back of his neck and sank to sit beside her on the bed.
Kanda sighed and headed for the door, “You stay here with her.”
“Where..”
“Just shut up and watch her. I’ll get some food.”
The door slammed shut then and Allen sighed.
“He can be a real pain in the ass can’t he?” Aleia asked blithely.
Allen looked back at her, taking in her lovely features. “But you love him anyway.”
She paused, her eyes going wide. “Well….”
He reached over and patted her hand, “You can tell me.”
Her shoulders slumped and she slowly nodded, “I think I might. And that just shows what an idiot I am.”
Allen let his gaze trail to the door, “I wouldn’t be so sure…”
“He will be irritated later” she predicted.
Allen snorted lightly, “Of course he will be. That’s just Kanda.”
She shook her head, “I don’t want to eat, I am scared.”
He blinked, “Eh?”
“I get motion sickness and I don’t want to eat and be sick on this boat.”
Allen sighed, “We will be on it for a month you will have to eat.”
She nodded, “I think that I should just wait a day or two and let my stomach get used to the movement.”
Allen put his arm around her and gave her a one armed hug, “No worries. My master used to have terrible hangovers, I can take care of you.”
The door opened then and Kanda entered with three large baskets, “You can’t even take care of yourself..” he muttered.
“Hey!” Allen barked but was silenced when a basket of food was dropped in his lap. His eyes sparkled at the thought of food and he dug right in.
Kanda picked at his own food and then frowned, “You aren’t eating.”
Aleia nodded, “I will later.”
Kanda glowered at her for a moment, though the dark look was lost on her, “You didn’t eat breakfast.”
Allen blinked, looking up from his own food. “Never took you for a stalker Bakanda” he ribbed unable to help himself.”
The taller man loomed over him, “Shut your mouth sprout.”
Aleia reached out to them both, her hands finding faces and she patted their cheeks like wayward children, “Now now. Lets all be nice. Or I will take this boat by myself.”
Kanda straightened and walked out with a muttered, “Like you could.”
Allen sighed, “I hate the way he speaks” he muttered under his breath, “Always saying unpleasant things.”
Aleia smiled in his direction, “Not.. Always” she defended, “Just….mostly.
Allen blinked and then laughed, feeling his heart lift when her voice joined his own.
Behind him, Kanda heard the peals of laughter and vaguely wondered what the hell was so funny. Not bothering to turn, he headed off to search the ship for possible threats.
“Tch.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
As they got underway, Aleia was convinced her concerns about being sick were unfounded. The feeling was slightly queasy but nothing she couldn’t handle. She even managed to pick at her food an hour or so later.

Allen brought her a small meal in the evening and walked her around the deck for fresh air, before returning her to room for the night.

And that was when the fun began. By day two Allen wanted to scream.

Allen hated his roommate. There was no other way to say it, he decided. Kanda was anti-social of course, but if Allen even glanced at him it started an argument. That was the only conversation he had unless he went to visit Aleia.

And every time he did that, Kanda would glare at him venomously.

Kanda wasn’t much happier. Allen mumbled in his sleep and unfortunately his sleep talking was painting all sorts of lewd images about Lavi and Lenalee in his mind. When the trio became complete in one very explicit dream, Kanda fought the urge to sleep outside.

Gah, that was just wrong…

He idly considered going to Aleia, but refrained. He was convinced that he had grown far too accustomed to her nearness and that it was throwing off his sleep patterns for he lay wide away staring at the berthing ceilings.

The third night at sea was terrible. They had run into a violent storm and the ship pitched and rolled. After nearly an hour, Allen sat up in his bunk, and reached for his jacket.

The lantern flared to life.

“Where are you going?” Kanda wanted to know. He was propped upright in his bed, glaring at Allen…again.

It was nearing eleven at night according to the watchman. He was nowhere near to sleeping. Try as he might he found sleeping difficult here. He also knew that Allen wasn’t sleeping well. No doubt missing his precious people.

“The storm, Aleia gets seasick.” he replied, “I’m going to see if she needs anything.”

Well, that was a tidbit he hadn’t considered. No, he had only considered cross the passageway to her door and sliding between her linens to finally sleep.

Kanda blinked and then rose from his own bed, “Stay here, I have some medicine from Bookman I can give her. Go to sleep Sprout.”

“But…”

Kanda sent him an icy glare, “I said shut up. Sleep. Damn bean sprout.”

Allen watched him reach into his pocket, gather a small blue bottle and leave the room. Allen settled down and smiled to himself. Stacking his hands behind his head, he stared upwards. “That man needs sex. Badly.”

Kanda knocked once, “I’m coming in” he called and pushed the door wide. Aleia was leaning against the wall in the corner. Her knees drawn up to her chest.

“Oi. Are you ok?” he asked. The lamps were unlit and the only illumination came from the storm outside her window. With a sigh he realized she didn’t need them anyway. He crossed the cramped space to kneel before her.

As soon as she felt his familiar hands on her, Aleia threw herself against him, tucking her face beneath his chin.

“Oi!” he exclaimed, his arms going around her, “Are you sick?”

“We are going to sink!” she mumbled against his skin.

At that moment the ship rolled again and he heard the familiar crack and creak of wood. “Aka” he said then, “Have you ever been on a ship of this size before?”

She shook her head against him. He sighed and stood with her clinging to him like an errant vine.

He moved them to the bed, “We aren’t going to sink. They always sound like this in a storm.”

He laid down and pulled her down against him. Thunder boomed and she curled closer. “Are you afraid of storms?” he asked then.

She shook her head, “Just sinking.”

“We won’t sink” he said again.

She huffed in mock irritation, “Must you sound so confident about everything?”

“Yes” came his immediate, smug answer.

She chuckled slightly comforted, and he smirked in the darkness.

‘”Its been a while since we were like this” she murmured and Kanda tilted his head to peer down at her. “When you were sweet…..”

“I am not sweet”. He sounded mightily affronted.

“Ha”

The ship pitched, riding high on a wave and Kanda waited for it drop out from beneath them again. When it did, she squealed in alarm and he tightened his grip on her.

She decided then and there that she hated ships. Hell, she’d swim back from China at this rate.

“Gah I hate ships… hate them hate them” she grumbled.

“You need to stop thinking about sinking” he told her matter-of-factly. He was torn between being irritated by her irrational fears and amused because someone so strong could be undone by such a thing.

“I can’t”

He smirked and rolled to pin her, his long, lean form covering and surrounding her own. “You can.”

And he kissed her, as he had been longing to do. Lips and tongues and mixed breath. His mouth angling to fuse with hers, it’s long lost missing half. Her body fit him so well, and he groaned against her, drinking her sweetness as her small hands slid into his hair.

“Don’t play with me Yu” she breathed as she broke the kiss, “I’m not your toy.”

And at her words he made his decision. Too many night sleeping beside her, not touching her as he wanted to.

That time was over.

He nosed her chin up to reach her throat, “No. You aren’t …Koibito.”

His mouth traveled the smooth column of her neck, his hand pulling the loose neckline of her nightdress away. His words igniting a dark, coiling heat in her stomach. She caught his face in her hands, wishing she could see him, judge his expression.

“Lover…”

He pressed a kiss to her shoulder. This kiss was different from previous ones, it was filled with dark, longing want. “Mm. If you want that.” he amended.

And Aleia knew, a lover meant many things. “Just a lover?”

He sighed against her, “I can’t promise you all my life Aleia” he said then, “I don’t even know how much of that I have left. Just… be with me…now. Now is all I have for certain.”

Aleia reached for the hem of his shirt, pulling it over his head. Kanda worked her nightdress off of her and then kicked his pants away. Coming back to her, pressing her into the linens of the bed, flesh to flesh and he closed his eyes in bliss.

How many times had he wanted her like this? Far too many to count and now, he would not waste this time.

Aleia was mildly surprised to find that though Kanda was a dominant lover, he was very gentle. In a way that seemed at odds with the man he presented to the world. He was always so cold and aloof, that this was a bit of shock. He was hot skin, fiery passion and achingly attentive.

His hands brushed her hair away from her face, sweet kisses dropping on her brow, her eyelids, across her face, gaining intensity as he nuzzled her ear, whispering dark, erotic things to her. Images springing to life behind her eyelids.

“You will tremble for me” he told her.

His hands swept over her lightly, mapping her neck, chest and stomach, returning again and again, until her skin felt electric. Even his breath was a tangible caress now.

Kanda took his time with her, sex and swordplay were nearly equal in his eyes, they required devotion, practice and skill. His senses reading her every reaction to know what she liked best.

His tongue caressed the tender roof of her mouth, making her mewl into his mouth. He groaned at her taste, her touch.

He sat back on his heels, drinking in the sight of her. Pale skin, rosy tipped breasts, his hands fell to her flesh sweeping over the length of her. Mapping his territory with his curious fingertips.

Finding which areas to press and smooth to hear her gasp, sigh and moan. Fingertips sliding over swells and valleys, tapping against hollows as though her body was the most revered subject to him.

His mouth followed afterwards, lips, teeth and tongue tracing a path of moist velvet over her throat and shoulder. He nuzzled his face in the fragrant valley between her breasts. His hand moving to palm ,cup, pinch lightly.

Her responses were sharp and fresh and he lifted up on one arm to watch her as he stroked her slick nether lips. Her eyes shot wide, mouth opening as he slowly dipped inside. Just the tip of his finger, touching the wetness, stroking the small mouth of her heat.

Then he slid deeper into her, making her head fall back in the pillow, and she began to tremble. Just as he had said.

Her body was tight and he groaned at the feeling of her. This would take time to prepare her. A second finger found its way to her and then a third as he pushed and pulled at the strings of her passions.

Her body slowly eased it’s grip on him, silken wetness surrounding his thrusting digits, coating them.

His mouth trailed to an upturned breast, laving and teasing the nipple before suckling it hard. His teeth teasing wickedly.

Her arms flew to cradle him, her body arching and she panted his name. His clever thumb rotated over her pearl and she shattered against him. Her orgasm rushing through her like a violent storm. She no longer was aware of the fury outside.

He swallowed the last strangled note of his name.

Yu allowed her several minutes to recover before kissing his way down her stomach. “Beautiful”.

“Yu” she whispered and he paused, feeling her hands slide over the hard planes of his stomach. “Turn for me”. She wanted so much to please him too.

And he knew what she wanted, “No” he said simply, “This time is yours. My pleasure can wait. I am not done with you yet.”

He’d be gaining his pleasure from her wanton cries, and from impaling himself in silk hot depths soon enough.

With long, elegant fingers he parted her, staring at the shining vibrant folds of her sex. The scent of aroused woman making him harden painfully. He lowered his head, lapping at her, his tongue lashing against her as he spelled with his tongue all the things he wished he could say.

Her hand clutched his hair, her thighs brushed against his cheeks and he reveled in it. This power over her. Her body shook like a leaf in the first gusts of wind. Her voice calling his name, pleading with him. Panting. Completely at his mercy.

His tongue flicked her pearl and then teased a wet caress around her opening, pressing ever so lightly at the back wall before dipping inside deeply only to retreat and return to her pearl.

His hands stroked over her trembling thighs, stopping his ministrations for only a moment to trail languorous kisses over her inner thighs, before resuming his task of devouring her.

“Ah!”

“Hn. Mmm”

Aleia was certain he was killing her. Every fiery lap of his tongue, every soft press of his lips driving her further and further into the maelstrom of passion. Her body was burning with the fever of him.

“Ahhh! Yu!” she cried out as he continued his delicious torments of her flesh. His hand gripped her thigh tighter as though hearing his name on her lips enflamed him.

“Its too much!” she panted. Her fingers coiling deeper in his hair. The heated weight coiling tighter and tighter in her lower belly, the fiery blossom there threatening to explode and consume her entirely.

He growled against her wet flesh, his fingers sliding home with an expert curling thrust, making her splinter again. Her back arched under him, her nails biting lightly into the flesh of his nape and scalp and her choked cry of passion filled his ears.

He slid up the length of her body, letting his body caress hers as he moved. Her thighs lifting to cradle his slim hips. One of his arms slid under her shoulder to hold her closer.

She felt the blunt nudge of his sex against her.

He kissed her, long and languidly as though the needs and wants of his body weren’t pressing on him. His tongue sharing her flavor, sharing his.

“How long has it been?” he asked against her ear, “I don’t want to hurt you.”

She sighed against him, not caring if he hurt her or not at this moment. “Years” she whispered back to him.

His dark eyes trailed over her face, as he lined himself up with her. “I’ll go slow then.”

And he did. Pressing into her with an agonizing slowness, but as he did so, she understood why.

Kanda was both long and thick, heavy inside of her. His flesh forcing hers to stretch and accommodate him and even though he had prepared her, was gentle with her, long untried passages being opened once more, caused her to wince.

Kanda felt it, “Are you alright?” he murmured against her shoulder.

She nodded, “Yes. Don’t stop.”

He chuckled tightly, “I wasn’t planning to, but I would go more slowly if you need it.”

She clutched him tightly, “Kanda, please!” He was forcing her to feel every velvety inch of him, the mushroom head of him, the thick blue vein, that pulsed against her inner walls. He left no part of her untouched.

Kanda angled his hips and let his weight fall forward, impaling her fully. He groaned at the feeling, his face pressing against her shoulder. Biting gently.

“Good” he groaned.

He held still for a moment, feeling her flutter and clench around him. He lifted his head, brushing his lips over hers.

“Ok?”

She nodded, lifting into him, her thighs tightening on his waist. Her body recalling the long lost pleasure of lovers.

Kanda began to move then, and he ripped the breath from her lungs. Each slow, smooth, hard stroke driving her mad.

“Ahhh!”

“More?” he groaned to her.

“Y..yes..”

He lifted one calf to his shoulder, easing deeper into her. Feeling her body tighten around him.

“Yu!” she wailed, as he sank into her so deeply that she felt his heavy sac slap her bottom.

“Mine.” he growled to her and she whimpered her agreement. His thrusts made the wooden cabin bed groan. The sounds of the storm lost in the frantic breathing and thundering heartbeats. Her arms tightening on him, her mouth finding any part of him she could reach. Nipping, licking, kissing.

When her lips found his, he moaned against her. The blatant want and need of her mouth making his lower back tense with impending climax.

Kanda shuddered and clenched his jaw, locking his control in tightly. His hand splayed over her lower abdomen, pressing slightly, his thumb curling to find her pearl.

Aleia wailed loudly as he stroked both centers of her pleasure at once. His hips snapped against her, her own lifting to meet him thrust for thrust. Deep within, his tip rubbed against the spongy wad of tissue on her frontal wall.

In all her years, all her lovers… it had never been like this. Never so blinding. There was no one and nothing….but Kanda.

Tears gathered at her lash line, the feeling overwhelming. His mouth fusing to hers in a hot, sweet mesh of flesh and flavor. Her body jerked in his arms and she tore her mouth free. Her pleasure far outshining any she’d known sending her to new territory.

Frightening territory. Territory where she was no longer in control.

“Yu… I…can’t..”

“I ….have you. Let… go.”

He didn’t think he could hold out much longer for her. It had been some time for him as well, and he had long wanted this. When she fluttered wildly around him he groaned with relief, feeling her climax beneath him.

She arched beautifully beneath him.

Her back arching, nearly lifting them both off the bed. Her thighs clenching around him tightly, her arms clasping him desperately. Nails biting, leaving darker half moons in their wake.

He buried his face against her neck as he chased after her. The heat of her, the wetness of her core, the undulations of her walls around him, locking tight, sliding against his length robbing him of thought and breath until all that remained was will.

The will to drive himself so deeply within her that he became an inseparable part.

He angled his hips and slammed into her twice before pouring his own release into her. His lower back locking with the force of it. His arms shaking, his eyes tightly closed, behind his lids brilliant white light danced erratically.

Kanda groaned loudly against her. The rough sound reaching her ears. Pleasure and contentment filled him.

He felt her cling to him, welcoming him and slowly gave her his weight as he panted against her damp neck. Slowly, as though the action was difficult, he rolled them, pulling her to his side. He brushed her hair from her brow, kissed her again and fell back to the bed exhausted.

“I’m sorry” he said then.

She was stunned, “For what?”

He smirked at the ceiling, “Wasting time…”. He brushed a kiss to her sweat damp hair. He would not make such mistakes again.

She half panted, half chuckled as he curled his arm around her, dragging the blankets over them. She curled closer to him, her head cushioned by his shoulder, her hand tracing random patterns over his heart.

Kanda had never allowed former lovers to do such things. But then, he mused to himself, they had not truly been lovers. Like minded people that he took when his body demanded release. When and if they grew too attached he had left them, and he never spent the entire night with one.

Yes, Aleia was vastly different. For he found that he wanted her nearness, her touch. Wanted it with his very soul.

He wanted. Her.

He stroked his hand through her hair, drawing her head closer to his lips and pressed another kiss to her temple. Her own lips blossomed against his shoulder.

They lay quietly panting for air, until finally sleep took them. Aleia wrapped in Kanda’s protective embrace. Bodies thrumming with satisfaction.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It was late morning when Allen knocked once on the door to Aleia’s cabin. A small basket of food in his hand for her.
“Aleia…” he sang out brightly, pushing the door open and stepping inside.
He had a glimpse of Kanda jerking the sheet over them, and grabbing Mugen. “Get the hell out Moyashi!” he snapped. His body angled to prevent Allen from seeing anything more than a flash of bright hair beyond his shoulder.
Gray eyes went wide, “Ba..kanda?”
“Out!” Kanda barked.
Allen was stunned. He blankly set the food down on the small table and left the room without a backward glance, though he did pause in the door to say, “We’ll be talking later Kanda”. The younger man’s tone brooked no argument and Kanda knew that he no doubt felt protective of Aleia.
“Hn.”
The door clicked shut.
Behind him, Kanda heard a soft chuckle and then fingertips ghosted over his spine. The bed shifted as she moved.
Her arms slid around his waist, her lips finding the nape of his neck and she kissed him, before nipping lightly, “We should get up. Allen will want to see us.”.
“Hn. Not when you do that.” Kanda replied, pulling her to him as he settled back to the bedding. “The sprout can wait.”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Kanda leaned against the railing as Allen stalked towards him. The light in the younger’s eyes told him that Allen was not to be taken lightly now.

“What are you doing Kanda?” he asked plainly.

Kanda tilted his head back to look at the snippets of blue sky peeking between sun bleached sails. “Getting air Moyashi.”

Allen glared at him, “I’m being serious Bakanda.” he bit out, “You didn’t come back last night and I saw you this morning. What. Are. You. Doing?”

Kanda turned his dark, keen eyes to Allen, “Don’t you think that is between us?”

Allen growled, “I would… If I didn’t think you were playing with her feelings. That’s all you’ve done from the start.”

Kanda stiffened, “Its not your concern sprout. Keep your nose out of it.”

Allen jerked him by his collar in an action so swift Kanda couldn’t avoid it.

“She is my concern, she is my friend. She’s been through hell, Kanda, hell, and I refuse to let anyone heap more on her. Not even you. So if you aren’t willing to give her what she deserves, you leave her the hell alone.”

“And what is it that you think she deserves?”

Allen blinked as Kanda shrugged from his grip, shoving him away roughly, “Love Kanda. And not the vanishing kind.”

Kanda’s eyes were sharper than Mugen in that moment and Allen felt them cut just as deeply.

“She is not your concern.” Kanda bit out and then turning in a swirl of long, dark hair he was gone. Striding away from Allen, his boots clipping an angry staccato on the wooden deck.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The rest of the voyage was uneventful. They had not even encountered Akuma and Kanda complained almost nightly now of the need to kill something. Allen said nothing of what had transpired between Kanda and himself to Aleia. But he watched them carefully.
Outwardly Kanda appeared no warmer to her, no softer. However, Allen was aware that each night Kanda went to her room and remained there. He had even gone so far as to send Tim to listen in outside the door, but there were nights when Kanda didn’t seem to touch her in the way of lovers.
So the… why did he go….unless?
Aleia had plied them with dozens of questions about the Asian Branch, they answering with the knowledge they had. As they neared their destination, she grew fretful.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

“What does it look like today?” she asked. A question that Allen hear daily. Not that he minded.

Beside him Kanda sighed, “Same as it did yesterday.”

She sighed, waiting and just when Allen opened his mouth to speak, Kanda surprised him.

“The sky is blue. Not a dark, or bright blue. But pale… like the lotus room in Prague.“

She nodded, content as her mind’s eye brought the color back to her.

“There are no clouds really. There is no land in sight and the water….”

“The water?” she prompted.

Kanda glanced over the side for her, “Is like a deep, blue black, the light doesn’t pierce it very far.”

“Anything in the water?”

He sighed impatiently, “A school of silver fish are swimming nearby. They aren’t large, but there are many of them.”

He took his place beside her again, looking much put out.

She reached over and patted his hand, “Thank you”

Allen watched Kanda shift uncomfortably but place his hand over hers. “Tch. It’s more interesting at sunset and dawn anyway.” he muttered.

She smiled, turning her head in to the wind, though she couldn’t see anything that he spoke of. Just gray, hazy shades of gray.

But that was ok. For now.

It was after all, such a beautiful day.
