A/N: I seem to really be on the path of updating lately. I'm glad I'm able to get updates up in a much more timely fashion that I have been. I say its because I'm back in school and have a lot more free time. Anyway, the long awaited next installment of Lovers and Fighters.

Shun sighed as he and Seiya got back to the house. They had used the last of Seiya's cash to get some groceries. Setting down one of the large brown paper bags of food he sighed, still worrying about what had become of his brother Ikki. "Hey Seiya, after we eat," Shun paused in his speaking to look at Seiya who was staring out the window. "Do you see something Seiya?" He asked softly walking over towards Seiya.

"No, I don't see anything. To tell you the truth I was actually thinking about going swimming in the lake." Seiya replied after a moment looking back at Shun with a little bit of a smile on his face. Shun then laughed softly looking back at Seiya.

"I was actually thinking the exact same thing." Shun replied with a smile on his face, still watching Seiya. He then moved over to the bags again getting out a box of doughnuts. The grocer had given them some of his old baked goods when he'd seen that they'd spent the last of their cash. He'd recognized Shun from the days when his family had come to their lake house, and had probably figured out what was going on thanks to his and Seiya's bands. It was pretty obvious that at least some of the towns folk were sympathetic to them.

Shun smiled as he sat down on one of the couches eating one of the sweet rings of glazed deliciousness. Seiya wandered over and sat down at the opposing love seat before taking one of the Doughnuts and taking a bite out of it, chewing thoughtfully. After he swallowed, he spoke. "You know, if every day on the run was as peaceful and fun as this one has been, then maybe I could learn to enjoy this life." He said softly leaning back and taking another bite out of it.

"Yeah, it really would be fun. Just having lazy days and hanging around with one another for company." Shun smiled thinking about that idea. After he finished his second doughnut he got up off of the couch and stretched. Seiya was still voraciously eating at this point and Shun smiled a little bit. "I'm going to head on down to the lake. I figure its best to get cleaned up as best I can and then go swimming while the day is still cooler, and the sun isn't as high. I burn really easily." Shun laughed a little bit as he walked out of the house. He began to walk over towards the lake was. There was a boat ramp there, and shun walked towards it. He paused a short way outside of the water and began to strip down, he hung up his clothing on a low branch of one of the trees that was near by.

Sticking his foot in a small squeak escaped Shun. He slowly began to wade into the water, until he got about waist deep into the lake. The water was very cold, but slowly he was getting used to it. It was at this point he just went under and began to swim out into the further reaches of the lake. Shun dove down once again running his fingers through his hair, wishing that he'd packed soap and shampoo. He and Ikki had been in a huge hurry when they'd fled their tiny apartment, so it really didn't matter now. Shun was free, though the thought of Ikki's capture was heavy on his mind. He moved to lay on his back with a small sigh, enjoying the morning sun on his skin.

Hyoga stood in the brush near the lake, watching Shun bathing, the green haired beauty's photos had done him no justice, especially when there was a smile on his face. Shun hadn't heard the car pull up, because he was too far out in the lake, and his ears were submerged. After a few minutes longer of floating Shun began to swim back in towards the boat ramp, ready to get out and figure out what he was going to do with the rest of his day. He got to the point that he was walking now and when Shun got about mid-calf in the water Hyoga stepped out of his hiding place. "Please don't try and run again, I really don't want to hurt you if I can avoid it. Which I would really like to."

Shun screamed and began to back away. He was about to turn and shallow dive, to swim back across the lake or something of the sort, he wasn't really sure. However that plan was canceled out very quickly, Hyoga had just as quickly knelt down by the water's edge and touched it causing the water in a 10 foot radius to become frozen solid. Shun fell backwards landing on his ass with a rather audible thud. "Stop! Let me go!"

Hyoga frowned a bit shaking his head before speaking. "Come on Shun, this can't be the life you want. Constantly on the run, never sure where your next meal is going to come from, here one day gone the next, never having a chance to settle down." Hyoga sighed exasperated, running his hand through his hair and shaking his head.

"Let me go! I don't want to be anyone's lover!" Shun protested still struggling as hard as he could to get free from the ice. He was starting to tear up now, he could only imagine what kind of horrors they had put Ikki through to get the location that he and Seiya had fled to. If Ikki had given them up it must have been absolutely horrible.

"Please... I just... I don't want to hurt you, or to see you hurt for that matter. Please just surrender and come with me Shun." Hyoga thought for a moment and took a tentative step forward towards Shun, slowly moving closer to the boy. The moment he was in range though, Shun through a punch at Hyoga. The blond man easily caught it and sighed shaking his head. "If you don't stop fighting me, I will be forced to knock you out. That really isn't something I want to do Shun."

"Just let me go!" Shun continued his violent struggling to get free from the ice. It was finally starting to become obvious to Hyoga, Shun was angry and scared. Hyoga was also beginning to understand that he really didn't know how to handle something like this. "I don't want my brother's sacrifices to be in vain! He's given so much up for me, I couldn't betray him by just turning myself over!"

"I assure you that your brother is still alive, and is doing alright." Hyoga spoke softly letting go of Shun's hand which he'd been holding tightly. "I'll make you a deal, if you surrender quietly now, and come quietly, no more struggling or protesting, I will let you ride back in the same car as Ikki and schedule visits between you and him often. Trust me, what I offer is far more than most fighters would consider doing for even the best lover." As Hyoga spoke Shun stopped his struggle gradually before sitting there and looking back at him.

"Fine." Shun spoke softly, he was looking away obviously fighting back tears that were welling up in his eyes, blinking furiously. Shun was terrifies that if he didn't agree to this now, he would never see Ikki again. Then in that moment it dawned on Shun that he actually wasn't wearing anything, his clothing was still hanging on the tree.

Leaning down Hyoga helped Shun to his feet before walking back off of the ice. "I will need to bind you, just as a precaution, nothing personal. I'll let you get your clothing on first, of course." Shun watched as Hyoga touched the ice with his hand and it melted away as quickly as it had frozen. Shun quickly hurried out of the water and then dressed himself again.

"Could you carry my shoes for me? My feet are still wet and I'd rather not get my shoes all wet." Shun said softly. He was still embarrassed that Hyoga had seen him naked, even though he had a feeling that it wouldn't be the only time that the blond would see him naked.

"Now, I need you to tell me where the keys to your brother's car are. We really weren't expecting to have him and Shaka returning with us, so we're going to have to use his car to return to the capitol." Hyoga explained as he got out a pair of leather cuffs and put them on Shun's wrists, then put a lock between them, through a steel d-ring.

Shun sat there listening and watching. "They're in the front pocket of my backpack." Shun replied softly looking down at his feet. Shun looked up when Hyoga gently took his arm and lead him up to where the cars were, Shun's shoes in his other hand. When they got up there, they saw Shiryu loading Shun and Seiya's bags into the car.

"Thanks for getting started on that. Now which bag is yours Shun?" Hyoga walked over to the trunk looking between the three backpacks, and then noticing Shun's had his name on it. "I'm going to guess that the one with your name on it is yours." Shun nodded laughing a little bit. Then Hyoga looked at Shiryu as he finished loading the bags. "That went fast, I would have thought yours would have taken longer."

"Well he tried to attack me, so I just knocked him out." Shiryu shrugged a little bit gesturing to the car. It was then that Hyoga noticed that Shiryu's forearm had been wrapped in gauze. When Shiryu noticed Hyoga's stare he added. "I honestly didn't have too much of a choice, he bit my arm so hard that it broke the skin when I grabbed him, after he tried to tackle me that is."

"Ow, we'll get it cleaned up better when we get back to Asmita's place. In the mean time, we should get on the road." Hyoga ran a hand through Shun's hair gently, drawing Shun's attention away from Seiya's unconscious form that way laying against the window of Shiryu's car.

Shiryu nodded and started to get into the car, as Hyoga lead Shun over to Ikki's car, he helped the Emeralette into the car carefully before buckling him in and shutting the door. "You'll have to forgive Shiryu. He really isn't the most gentle person in the world, and I'm sure he would have preferred not to have used force on Seiya."

"What do you mean by that..." Shun trailed off realizing he didn't know the blonde man's name. He also shifted around trying to get comfortable in the back seat of the car, but was obviously worried for seiya.

"Hyoga, my name is Hyoga. I admit, I only know your name because of the paperwork they gave me when I registered for you." He smiled a little bit as they drove along. "Anyway, what I mean by that, is Shiryu doesn't always know how to handle things, but he really is a good person." Hyoga explained as they got back on the main road.

"I see." Shun nodded as he watched Hyoga using the rear view mirror. "Seiya is kind of the same way, He also doesn't always think before he does things." Shun shifted again, still trying to get into a comfortable position. "Maybe it will work out for the better."

"I hope so. I also hope that you can be happy with me too." Hyoga took a moment to glance over his shoulder and look at Shun.

Shun nodded a little bit looking down in his lap. "I hope so too."

"Don't be sad. I'm sure you will come to love being with me in time, I'm a good guy." Hyoga replied smiling, and Shun nodded. He then took to looking out the window, his mind was full of thoughts as he watched the scenery go flying by as they drove back towards Asmita's. His mind was bogged down by thoughts of his brother and of his future.

A/N: This chapter about doubled in sized from the rough draft to the final one. Also pardon my lack of a beta. Formatting weirdness is because I lost Microsoft word. It should be normal again by the end of september.
