Note #1: Time for the Second Round matchups.

Athena Arc-Chapter 151: The Second Round Matchups Start!
The matchup was now Ash vs. May.
Ash: (low volume tone) (talking to May) You better give me a good battle, my little Beautifly.
May: (whispers) I will. And don't call me that when we're about to battle.
Ash: Just don't forget our little bet...
May: (determined) Oh trust me,I aim to win,and win I shall.
Ash: (normal volume tone) So, who're you gonna use?
May: Glaceon, take the stage! (throws Poké Ball)
Ash: (talking to Akane) Alright,Akane, let's go!

In the Stands
Akane: (stands up) (talking to everyone) I’ll be right back. (hands me Mei)
Me: (accepts) (talking to Akane) Good luck, Akane.
Akane: (turns) If we win, we’ll be facing off against you in the Semifinals. (leaves)
Me: I can’t wait. (hands Mei to Saria) I bet Mei would like to know her Grandmother.
Saria: (sighs) Fine, but only because I want to hold her.(picks up Mei) (thinking) She sure does remind me of Akane, but without the weird colors.

Back to the Battle
May: (thinking) (slightly worried) Damn him.

In the Stands
Harley: (observes) Oh well, looks like May's gonna lose this one.

Back to the Battle
May: (talking to Glaceon) Ice Beam!
Ash: (talking to Akane) Dodge.
Akane moved and the Ice Beam passed harmlessly by her.
Ash: (thinking) (confident) That's right, keep using ice attacks.
May: Ice Shard!
Ash: Keep dodging.
Akane dodged the attack.
Saria: (telepathy) (angry) (talking to Ash) You little...I know what you are doing.
Ash: (thinking) (suggests) You sound tired, maybe you ought to have a nap.
Saria: (denies) And miss you doing something stupid while battling with my daughter, I don't think so.
May: Iron Tail!
Ash: Protect.
Glaceon’s Iron Tail uselessly bounced against the dome.
Ash: Ok, quick combo!
Akane moved in close and used a combination of Pound and Palm Strike. Once she was done, Glaceon was seeing stars.

In the Stands
Harley: (shakes his head) She can't win against a Fighting-Type like that.
Elena: (talking to Harley) The battle isn’t over yet. (thinking) (serious) Come on and lose already, you stupid brunette.
Zoey: Was it just me or were those attacks stronger than the last time Ash used Akane?" Zoey asked.
Angie: (talking to Zoey) (thinks about it) Hmmmm, (offers) Akane might be leveling up quicker from battling in this tournament.
Me: (talking to Zoey and Angie) Hey, I was the one who trained her to learn the techniques I knew. It’s thanks to me that she was able to get stronger.
Mei was sleeping in Saria’s arms.

Back to the Battle
May: Shadow Ball!
Glaceon launched a Shadow Ball at Akane.
Ash: Send it back with Palm Strike.
Akane punched the Shadow Ball and sent it back towards Glaceon.
May: Use Iron Tail to send it back!
Glaceon hit the Shadow Ball with her tail and sent it back at Akane. Akane sent it back at Glaceon, and Glaceon sent it right back at Akane. They were repeating the same thing.
Iris: What is this, a Pokémon battle or a game of Ping-Pong?" Iris asked.
Shinobu: (talking to Iris) Looks like it.

Several Minutes Later
The two Pokémon had kept up the game of ping pong. Then, the Shadow Ball begun to radiate with its own energy. Akane was ready to keep going but Glaceon was all warn out.
Glaceon: (tired) (panting) I can’t...keep this up.
Ash: Akane! End it! (instructs) Jump into the air and strike it with Force Palm and strike it like a volley ball!
Glaceon was too tired and was hit by its own attack. When the smoke cleared, Glaceon was still standing.
May: (thinking) (worried) No, I can't beat Akane with my Pokémon in such a condition.
Before she could recall Glaceon and forfeit, Glaceo fainted just before Akane could even reach it.
Referee: Glaceon is unable to battle, Mienfoo wins.
Akane landed on the ground. Ash knelt with May where Glaceon was now resting.
May: (talking to Ash) Glaceon will be fine. It just needs a rest. (talking to Akane) Good work, Akane."
Akane: (bows) It was my pleasure. (walks back to the stands)
May: (teases) I see what you are doing, Ash Ketchum.
Ash: Oh really? And please,do tell me,my little Beautifly, what am I doing?
May: (deduces) You are using this tournament to get Akane experience in battle before you face Tobias again.
He only grinned and kissed May.
Ash: (breaks the kiss) You read me like a book. Just don't forget about our wager, my little Beautifly...
May only blushed deeply in response.

In the Stands
Akane had gotten Mei back from her mother and was now carrying Mei.
Zoey: Boy's certainly a romantic. (talking about Ash) Didn't think he had it in him.
Iris: (talking to Zoey) Ha, you should have seen them a couple of days ago, they were licking ketchup and mustard off each other’s faces," Iris said.
Elena: (thinking) Didn’t need to know that.
Zoey: (thinking) Ash.
Georgia: (talking to Iris) (teases) Iris, you better be ready to lose.
Iris: (argues) No, you better get ready to lose, Georgia.
Cilan: (thinking) (muses) From the flavor of lovers battling, to the flavors of several rivals battling...and I've got my own rival problem.
Me: (stands up) It’s my turn, guys. I’ll be right back after the battle is over. (walks away) (mutters) This battle will only take 6 minutes or less anyway.

Few Minutes Later
The next battle was between me and Anabel.
Me: (talking to Anabel) Ladies first.
Anabel: (shakes her head) I’m not falling for that. I think you should go first because I won’t.
Me: (grins) If you insist. Now,Skiddo, time to battle! (throws Friend Ball)
Skiddo: (appears) Show time!
Every Pokémon Trainer got out their Pokédex and pointed it at Skiddo. Everyone’s Pokédexes said the same thing.
Everyone’s Pokédex: No Info.
Announcer: It seems that Jing is going to be battling with a never before seen Pokémon! Everyone’s wondering who’s that Pokémon!?

In the Stands
Ash: (confused) I’ve never seen a Pokémon like that before.?
Pikachu: (curious) What is he?
Rice: (talking to everyone) That’s Jing’s Skiddo.
May: (confused) Skiddo?
Rice: (explains) It’s a Pokémon that can be only found in a certain region. Jing got it as a present from Jong. (turns back to the battle) Just watch and you’ll see.
Eevee: (cheering) (talking to me and Skiddo) You can win you two!
Shocky: (nonchalant tone) (talking to Eevee) We both know that Jing and Skiddo will win.
Eevee: (rolls his eyes) I know that, but I want to watch it anyway.
Athena: (talking to Shocky and Eevee) (shushes) Shh, you two. I’m trying to watch the battle.
Eevee and Pikachu: Okay.

Back to the Battle
Anabel: (thinking) (looking at Skiddo) (wondering) I’ve never seen that Pokémon before. So how can I choose the right Pokémon if I don’t know it’s Type?
Anabel looked closely at Skiddo. She kept looking until she saw Skiddo’s tail.
Anabel: Its tail is just three leaves. (realizes) That means that it’s a Grass-Type! (stops thinking) Come out my friend! (throws Poké Ball)
Anabel’s Metagross appeared.
Me: We’ll go first. Skiddo, use Razor Leaf!
Skiddo launched razor sharp leaves towards Metagross.
Anabel: (telepathy) Send those leaves back with Psychic.
Metagross’ eyes glowed blue and a blue aura outlined its body. The leaves were then outlined in a blue aura. The leaves then slowed down and stopped in mid-air. The leaves were then sent flying back at Skiddo.
Me: Protect.
A turquoise-colored dome surrounded Skiddo. The leaves clashed against the dome and did nothing. The dome disappeared once the attack stopped.
Anabel: Meteor Mash!
Metagross headed towards Skiddo. Metagross' hand was surrounded by a silhouette of a golden meteor.
Me: (calm) Dodge, and use Return.
Skiddo ran towards Metagross. After galloping for a few feet, he turned his back towards Metagross and stopped. Once Metagross was a few feet from him,he then crouched down and kicked back his hind legs which then hit Metagross in the face and sent it flying in the air a bit.
Me: Rock Slide.
Giant rocks appeared out of the air. The rocks impacted Metagross and caused a lot of damage. Metagross fell through the air.
Anabel: (shouts) Metagross!
Metagross then opened its eyes and used its Levitation Ability to stop itself from impacting the ground.
Me: Use Energy Ball, but don’t fire it.
Skiddo created a ball of energy in front of its mouth.
Me: Now swallow it.
Everyone (including Jack,except my teammates) was surprised.
Anabel: (flabbergasted) Wait, that’s-(interrupted)
Skiddo swallowed the Energy Ball. A few seconds later, Skiddo’s mane was glowing with green energy.
Anabel: (thinking) I have to stop his Skiddo before it uses an attack. (telepathy) Use Hyper Beam!
Metagross fired a beam at Skiddo.
Me: Jump into the air and then use Solar Beam.
Skiddo jumped high into the air. He then summoned a ball of sunlight and fired it at Metagross. Metagross couldn’t dodge the attack and was hit. There was an explosion as a result. Skiddo landed on the ground and its mane wasn’t glowing anymore. When the explosion cleared, Metagross was unconscious.
Referee: Metagross is unable to battle, Skiddo is the winner!
Me: (smiling) (talking to Skiddo) Good job, Skiddo!
Skiddo ran towards me. I petted him for a job well done.

Few Minutes Later
It was now Iris vs. Georgia
Georgia: (talking to Iris) (taunts) Is the little kid ready to lose?
Iris: (smug tone) Funny, that was what I was going to ask you.
Georgia: Okay, go Pawniard! (throws Poké Ball)
Iris: Excadrill, let's go! (throws Poké Ball)
Georgia: (impatient) (talking to Pawniard) Bah, let's end this right now...Guillotine!
Iris: (talking to Excadrill) Mud-Slap!
Excadrill picked up some dirt and threw two balls of mud at Pawniard’s face. Some of the mud was able to get into Pawniard’s eyes, causing Pawniard to miss.
Georgia: (angry) Grrr, Metal Claw.
Iris: (orders) Metal Claw, Excadrill!
Pawniard and Excadrill’s Metal Claws had clashed with each other.
Georgia: Iron Head!
Iris: Mud-Slap!
Pawniard tried to use its move, but got a face full of mud.
Iris: Good work Excadrill, now, Drill Run!
Excadrill used Drill Run while Pawniard was blinded. Pawniard couldn’t see and took damage.

In the Stands
Angie: (impressed) I've got to admit, she's good.

Back to the Battle
Georgia: Guillotine!
Iris: Ok Excadrill, finish it with Focus Blast!
Pawniard’s Guillotine missed by a wide margin while Excadrill’s Focus Blast hit, knocking Pawniard out.
Referee: Pawniard is unable to battle. Excadrill wins.
Iris: (celebrates) You did it Excadrill.
Georgia: (returns her Pawniard) (talking to Iris) Bah, (nose up in the air) I still beat your Axew.
Iris: (taunts) You are such a kid.
Georgia: (argues) So are you!
Iris: (still teasing) Well, if I'm such a kid then why did I just beat you?
Georgia stormed off.

Few Minutes Later
Cilan finished his battle against Burgundy, and won.
Me: (grins) (talking to Ash) You better be ready,Ash, because I’m not going to be holding back.
Ash: (grins) I was about to say the same thing.
I walked away. I took out a Poké Ball.
Me: Soon, it’ll be time for you to battle.

Next: The Semifinals Roundup! Ash Has to Battle without Akane! Ash vs. Jing! Final Round Matchup! Jing vs. Iris!
