GameofThrones: Welcome readers to Chapter 7 The first of The Tale of Zeref of 2015 sorry about the delay I had to sort out some story scene planning with my excel doc which got messed up by the sheer size of some of the previous chapters than I had originally planned. After careful consideration and as precaution I have extended this arc beyond original length of the story (8 Chapters Originally but now it will be roughly 12 – 13) which is the longest arc of this volume. I have decided to avoid time stamps but I will give some indication of the time. But these scenes happen near the end of Gallus and Bero’s fight. Anyway please read and enjoy chapter 7 and read and review it.

Chapter 7: Chosen Paths Part 2 – Lucy Strikes Back!

Mr Narrator: “As Gallus relishes is victory against Bero and prepares to track down Lucy as she is fighting Victor who is holding her friends hostage. However unbeknownst to them a new player is about to join the Frey as Kaito is inbound and ready to the mercenary’s plans upside down. Who will win? Will Kaito make it time read to find out!”

“So who is going to be first?” said the young man called Victor gleefully eyeing one of the younger maids which caused her to shiver as he rises from the stool he was sitting on. “Preferable the older ugly ones and the men but it will be shame not to saviour the pretty ones”
The captives were quiet just watching Victor with various thoughts going through their heads. Lucy if you’re nearby no matter what don’t come out! Thought Spetto more concerned what this mad man wanted with Lucy less concern for herself.
“Come on any volunteers or should I choose?” said Victor waiting a couple more seconds before eyeing them all up to pick one however just has he reaches out to grab Aed a violent explosion interrupts him.
RUMBLE
The building shook from a shock wave from Bero with Taurus battle Gallus at the Astronomy Tower. Victor sighs and says aloud “Gallus-san what in the hell is going on up there?”
“At this rate he might bring the floors above on our heads don’t you think we be pretty flat after that huh” said Victor with a laughing lightly at what would be there certain death if it were to happen.
“Are you bonkers or something” blurted out Aed incredulously at their luck. “Why did we have to be stuck with this nutcase?”
“Now where were we…? Now I remember I start with you Aed since you’re so outspoken now” said Victor reaching down to grab Aed by his chief tunic as he tried to wiggle free of him “Let go, let go damned galoot!” shouted Aed trying to wrestle free but suddenly got let go by Victor suddenly. “Huh…” said Victor listening to something peculiar from behind him that roused his attention.
“Whaa” groaned Aed has fallen to the floor “What’s the big idea dropping me!”
“I am the person who connects the road to the Stellar Spirit World” said what sounds like a young girl’s voice from nearby “Thou shalt respond and pass through the gate”
“Shoosh” said Spetto to Aed who is also listening to something
“What!?” replied Aed to the old maid before listening “That’s…”
That’s Lucy Thought the hostages
“Open the door to The Crab Cancer!” said Lucy from somewhere nearby
“Who is there?” said Victor looking around for anyone new or suspicious “Is that the girl?”
Victor manages to pinpoint the sound as there is brilliant golden glow which shines out from a grate in the wall and into the pantry.
“Over there” said Victor covering his eyes as he got closer “Where is that light coming?”
The glow dissipated as quickly as it appeared and then it just dark inside.
“Ah” exclaimed Lucy from behind the grate
Victor approached the grate and tried to pull it off but it was pretty secure and wasn’t going to budge easily.
“If you’re hiding in there Lucy come on out now save me having to force you out” warned Victor giving it another tug.
Lucy Pov:
I looked at the poof of white clouds surrounded a silhouette but couldn’t see him clear but could make out a slender figure hidden in it.
Yes It worked I think anyway I did summon something at least. I thought relieved and bit nervous still. The cloud covering the summon fade away revealing a human looking man. A first glance he resembles a hairdresser he even has a pair of scissors in either hand with crab claw like handles that are orange in colour. His hair black cornrows with red braids that end in thick crab like pincer shape on either side at the top of his head. He wears an aquamarine blue shirt with thin black line design with first four or five buttons undone and the collar tucked back and out showing his golden chain around his neck and his cuffs of his shirt are rolled up at the end above his wrist. His skin is light brown with a stubble chin hair on his face. His trousers are black in colour with a tool belt and have gold ring chain attached to his right side and several satchels containing his hairdressing tools and equipment attached to his tools belt. He also has six crab legs sticking out of his back that stick out and curve slightly on either side and wears pair of black sunglasses with Green tinted Lenses that obscure his eyes. Wow…I thought taken in the appearance of the newly summoned Eclipse spirit in front of me So this is Giant Crab of the golden Eclipse gate he is more human looking than I thought It’s not what I expected at all considering how Taurus the Golden Bull turned out then again He resembled a human and stood upright as well but Cancer is much more human looking apart from a few extra additions. You could even mistake him for a cos-player I costume if you didn’t know he was a Spirit. The Celestial Spirit looked at me I couldn’t see his eyes due to his sunglasses but I could tell he was peering through at me from behind his tinted lenses. I gulped nervously as my thoughts return back to Bero’s teachings. It is my first time summoning a spirit myself but I saw Bero summoned his spirits several times in demonstrations but he was planning to help me through my form my first contract and summon in a few weeks but of course all this has happened and He hasn’t had the chance to go through it yet. “So… I finally been summoned to the human world it has been awhile ebi” said Cancer taking in the surrounding and different atmosphere of the human of world. Cancer voice knocked me out of thoughts as He turned his gaze back to me. “So you must be Lucy, Lucy Heartfilia ebi”
“Huh” I squeaked in surprise taken back by him already knowing my name.
How does He know my name? I thought shocked my mouth ajar do all spirits know there Summoners names just like that?
Cancer looks at me and see’s my expression of surprise and asks “Is there something wrong ebi?”
“Hmm… how did you know my name” I said with mixture of nervousness and curiosity.
“Oh…. Well you see I have been expecting you ebi” answered Cancer casual matter of fact tone
“Huh?” I said even more confused “You were expecting me?”
“….. So you really don’t know ebi” said Cancer his words sounding surprised but is tone retained its cool calm.
I nodded and he continued “I was originally contracted to your mother Layla Heartfilia until her retirement seventeen years ago and before I was released she made me and two other spirits promise to watch over you and it was arranged for our keys to pass on eventually down to you if and when you were ready to become a mage ebi”
“I see so those two keys belong to My Mother in the past and she retired two years before I was born as well” I said aloud thinking back to Bero’s explanation about the keys Moms friends gave me it all makes sense now. “Still it’s surprising to think this was all planned so long ago I wonder how she knew I would become a mage too”
“Yes until that time came your mother entrusted our keys to people she knew and trusted who when the time came would bequeath them to you if you would someday follow her footsteps and become Celestial Spirit mage and if you didn’t then the keys would keep the owners they were given to by Layla ebi”
“My mother knew me well she taught me lots of important stuff about Celestial Spirits and magic as I grew up it was all in preparation for days like this” I said thankfully if not for Mom and Bero I would have been captured by now”
“So do you have any more questions ebi?” inquired Cancer
“Nope thanks for telling thought it’s funny to think she already told you my name even back then even though she might not even known then I would be a girl” I said with a joyful giggle.
“Mistress Layla never told us your name she said her child I don’t think she assumed you end up either gender ebi” informed Cancer
“Oh but then how do you know my name is Lucy then?” I asked
“My previous owner told me some years ago ebi” answered Cancer “They kept in contact over the years prior to her passing so I was kept in form it’s likely the same for the others too ebi”
“Oh okay” I said
“Anything else you want to know ebi?” asked Cancer
“No not right now” I said despite my curiosity beckoning me to ask more about my mother because I only know what Bero and the others told me I would to know about my mother life prior to meeting my father and her adventures but now is not the time.
“So… ebi” asked Cancer in all seriousness readying his scissors “Trim or a new hair style?”
“Eh…?” I exclaimed by his seemly random question.
Is he joking? I thought He sounds so serious thought is it really a joke?
“Come again?” I ask
“I can shorten or lengthen you hair or give you a new look entirely if you prefer ebi” continued Cancer his voice didn’t change his tone and was very serious asking THAT. “I usually work in more light but this will do ebi”
Now that I think about it He does kind of look like a barber. I thought looking at his appearance again. He even has barber scissors.
However before I could tell Cancer why I summoned him a loud noise that I had drowned out from all the talking with Cancer had caught my attention.
WENCH
It is the sound from up head of the grate being wrenched is getting louder I can see Victor trying to pry it open shouting at me from the other side. “Stay right there LUCY… Grr dam why won’t this dam panel come off grr” grumbled Victor frustrated by the fact a lump of metal of is in the way of him reaching me. He sure is persistent I thought as he keeps yanking at it but it’s securely bolted on to the wall and seemly won’t be moved. It’s a good job it’s so stuck otherwise He might of gotten to me already but it’s not going to hold forever I need to get Cancer to take care of him surely he can fight can’t he? He isn’t just some wacky spirit barber I hope. Before I said anything Cancer noticed him “Who is he ebi?”
“He is the reason I summoned you hear” I said pointing at him as he suddenly backed away from the vent followed by several strained voices of warning from beyond the wall.
“Watch out Lucy” called out Spetto concerned
“He is up to something get away Lucy” warned Aed
The other staff all called out warnings towards me.
“Does he need a haircut? ebi” asks Cancer
“Whaaa” I exclaimed incredulously “Can’t you read the situation?
SCREECH……
BOOM
Suddenly there was loud explosion from behind where Victor disappeared from and smoke and dust filled the passage way.
“I am finally through” said Victor relieved walking through the hole He blasted and then appearing through the smoke looking for me and eyes met. Spetto and the others seem okay at least, I hope Bero is fine too. I thought relieved hearing there calling for me through the veil of smoke. Sorry Bero But I can’t flee the Konzern now even if I wanted to with him blocking the way right now but the moment I have rescued the others from this man I will continue to find help. Victor walks over within a few a feet away from Me and Cancer but doesn’t come any closer surprisingly showing restraint to the contra of his earlier actions but He made nervous all the same.
“It’s quite fortuitous for you to fall right into my hands… Isn’t it Lucy-san? Well not for you obviously and none of the others are here to steal my thunder either I couldn’t have planned it any better if I tried” said Victor excitedly “So how do yo… Huh so you have company I wasn’t expecting that, Now you’re a weird looking fellah aren’t you”
Cancer didn’t comment but remained quietly observing him which made me curious what he was making of this situation.
But then he speaks “Who is he?”
Jeez I thought I would have more time I can’t very well complete a contract like this Bero once told me that if I get into a situation where I needed to summon a new spirit I could ask for the spirit to temporally stall a contract if we both agree to it I thought concerned I hope he is reasonable but he seems nice enough if not a little dense but He once belonged to My Mother so he has to be a good spirit right? But more importantly why hasn’t that man made a move yet he is just staring at us it’s kind of creepy….
“Cancer!” I called over to Cancer quickly trying to get his attention that turned to face me without wait. I give a quick glance at Victor making sure He hasn’t made a move yet. “Cancer I haven’t got the time to explain everything but the reason I summoned you his Him” I pointed at Victor; I know this is selfish but can I ask you to wait until later to do a contract please. He is holding my friends hostage in the room behind him I need you to take care of him can you do that?” I said pleading knowing it’s hardly the proper way to greet or create partnership with a new Spirit let alone a Zodiac spirit.
“Well aren’t you being rude I have a name you know Its..” spoken out Victor who seemly being ignored much to his annoyance “Alright” said Cancer without hesitation to my surprise and delight he seemed quite understanding and reasonable after all. “Thank you” I said gratefully pumping the air in celebration “Yes! Now to rescue my friends”
Cancer turned around to face Victor again who had been patiently waiting apparently for them to finish.
“So I just have to take care of him right Lucy” said Cancer looking at his opponent.
“Yes” I said confirming question and warning of foe he faced “But be-careful He and his team mates took out all of my father’s guards”
“Helloooo… finally done with you conversation over there has you?” said Victor jovially pointing and spinning dramatically before suddenly sounding serious just as quick. “Don’t ignore me okay!!! And I have a name it is Victor!” This guy is weirding me out more and more by the minute….. I thought sighing Still despite that I can tell theirs something dangerous about him despite his kookiness. “Stay back Lucy” said Cancer to his new owner and readies his scissors for battle. “Oh I was going to ask whether you were going to come over quietly but guess not” said Victor stretching sounding confident “But doesn’t look like it but I will enjoy it more this way ready when you are”
Do your best Cancer I am counting on you. I thought taking another nervous gulp.
“Hm...” said Cancer who suddenly vanished right in front of me in an instant. “Ah” I exclaim surprised and astounded.
“Eh!?” said Victor Then Cancer reappears behind Victor who has barely reacted either He must of lost track of him too. However nothing seem to have happened to Victor who seemed perfectly alright but then suddenly several lochs of hair fell off on to the ground and He suddenly collapses face first.
“Wahl” I exclaimed in surprise “Wha but... how”

West Gate Driveway

Kaito is running down the driveway and can see the Konzern and smoking debris in the distance but it’s still very long way away. I can’t believe the size of this driveway it’s going to take a while to get down there by foot… thought Kaito incredulously The Heartfilia’s Konzern truly his huge I can’t even see where it ends and begins. How do they even maintain and afford all of this you would think they were royalty. Kaito keeps on moving and then notices something that doesn’t seem right in a place like this. Hmm that’s strange those sorts of plants don’t belong in a place like this, There usually found in specific jungle regions. Thought Kaito as see’s the strange tropical plants that have grown along the drive in countless places up ahead but suspiciously nowhere else in the Konzern all at least as far as Kaito’s dragon-slayer enhanced vision allows. These must have been grown here magically by someone but can’t help but think I am thinking something very important about these plants…
As Kaito continues make his way along the driveway he passes the first plant in deep thought as the flower head of the plant turns towards him and then….
Curse these old memories of mine…. I can’t…. Hmm? Thought Kaito bemused with his right hand on his chin trying to help him think no idea if it works.
Slusshh
The plant strikes with a long thick tongue like vine at Kaito’s feet but He dodges with a short jump and the vine fails to ensnare him. Crap that was close... huh ha that was it these shitty plants are carnivorous. Thought Kaito amused by sudden recollection after nearly being plant-napped. The plant begins to recoil readying for another strike on Kaito however behind him there is another plant ready to strike.
Slussshh
The second plant attacks but sees its attack coming.
Another one those plants are dangerous I after make sure I clear them all otherwise they mostly likely make a meal of anyone passing through here unless there magic users too even then….. Thought Kaito Note to self-remember to feed them the mage who grew them here.
“You think I forgot about you wacky weed” said Kaito
“Here’s some red hot weed killer for your troubles Magic Fireball!” Kaito shoots out a compressed ball of flames the size of a football which then explodes as hits the flower head into a large fiery dome incinerating the plant. The dying plant makes shriek amongst the flames which could be hard to hear for some. The previous plant moves to attack undeterred by charring of its rival. Kaito turns and unleashes a Fiery fist at the plant “You too Fire Fist”
Sniff
The plant is quickly incinerated by the attack but as the plant shrieks Kaito notices an unusual smell come from the deceased plants. Sniff Hmm huh this smell… It’s the smell of burning flesh. Thought Kaito clenching his fist angrily That Plant had already eaten... What naive hope I had to think I got here on time to save everyone… Grr I won’t let it happen to anyone else! Kaito shot of with longer strides hoping to get to the Konzern even quicker with greater determination than ever before.

As Lucy and Kaito await their fates meanwhile the two of the mercenaries are looking for Gallus and Aika who went to capture Lucy at the astronomy tower. “Belinda-san are you sure you’re going the right way?” questioned Mance impatiently “We walking for a while we still haven’t reaches the tower.
“Quiet Mance-san I am thinking, I know where I am going just be patient I want to find them as much as you do” snaps Belinda looking around the hall she is in and putting her fingers to her chin thinking clearly frustrated “Hmm”
“Well?” inquires a restless Mance
“Ugh it’s that way” says Belinda snapping at team mate rushing so she randomly chooses a direction in frustration not a decision based on memory but at this point anything to give pause to her burly man beside her. “Are you sure?” asks Mance “I rather not after backtracking because of your ill-sense directions”
“Yes I am now come you’re the one falling behind now” barks back Belinda stomping off irritably in the direction she pointed at. This better be the right direction I cannot stand another flurry from that badgering fool if I knew it would be like this I would have stayed with Victor….. No never mind His flirting would make me wants to ring his neck why have I been cursed with such unsavoury company.
The pair continues walking on silently until they reach another split in the hall way which Belinda recognises from earlier as this is the wing she cleared earlier of the Konzern guard and where She was passed by Gallus and Aika earlier. Everything seemed normal enough up to this point but now many of the winds of the south wall of the wing were blown in and the area around the wind ceils was cracked deformed from some kind of impact. There was rubble that had blown in on to the floor from remains of masonry as well. “Look at all this mess what the hell has Gallus been doing to cause all of this?” said Belinda to no one in particular.
“It appears We are going the right direction at least” commented Mance unconcerned by the disturbance in the area. “I haven’t heard the sounds of battle in a while it appears it is over”
“You don’t say” said Belinda sarcastically
Mance eyes narrowed on her unamused “Come on lets continue how much further now?”
“We not far now the staircase to where Gallus and Aika should be is just down here” says Belinda confidently “I told you know where I was going”
“Good to know I thought I would be walking around all afternoon at this rate” said Mance sarcastically “Where onwards then We need to report to Gallus I am sure He is eager to find out how we did”
“Fine follow me” said Belinda with sigh disappointed with Mance’s lukewarm reaction to the good news. That… Bastard you think he could at least thank me but no He just goes on the next time he can find his own way… But still I am rather pleased I went the right way after all.
The mercenaries went down the corridor a short way to the spiral staircase where there was strong smell of burnt rubble and soot thick in the air. Since this area was fairly withdrawn from windows the air had yet to clear of the air pollutions. COUGH “Guh what the hell did me breath in” complained Belinda expelling the bad air from her. “Hm it appears something around was burning not a long ago” said Mance “It’s probably a consequence of her the earlier battle but I don’t hear anything at the moment so I believe the battle is over now” said Mance looking around above him
“But it would be wise to tread with caution the area already looks precarious and unstable”
“Naturally ladies first then” said Belinda “I would not want to be behind you if we did fall down”
They quickly and carefully make their way up the stone steps which looked solid and stable enough but as they neared the top the signs of major fire could be clearly seen in the charred hall way. Also tiles were broken in many places and parts of the floor had fallen away as a consequence there earlier ordeal. But the most surprising sight came as they walked towards the end of the hall way or where it should be as the pair walks towards the end of the hall and could see out into the Konzern where the rest of the hallway and tower should be. Belinda looked shocked as she stares out and tries to walk forward but Mance holds her back with a large hand on her shoulder but had equally taken back look on his face as well. “…… It’s all gone” said Belinda the first to speak gasping in surprise and finding it hard to believe what she is seeing “I want to have closer look if you let go”
“It appears so… Don’t get any closer the floor will give out if you attempt to and it’s quite the drop” warned Mance “It appears considerable battle happened here it is hard to believe even Gallus could of done all this by himself”
“I hope Aika – chan is okay and she didn’t fall down with the tower” said Belinda concerned looking around for any sign of her but her field of vision was limited with hall wall and the smoke from the rubble.
“She will be fine Gallus would rather lose an arm than let anything happen to her” reassured Mance
“Well he better or he will lose more than an arm” warned Belinda “I don’t see any sign of Gallus – san either”
“Gallus – sama might already left but if not he is somewhere down there” said Mance “Let’s get down there and look for them before Victor –san gets restless and kills the hostages they are insurance of Lucy’s cooperation”
“You say that but how do we get down there..” said Belinda who then stopped in mid-sentence as she thought of something “I know I use my plants of course I am sure I have bean plant that can support even man of your size” Belinda opened up her pouch to find a bean stalk seed to allow for them to safely make their way down. Belinda finds a small green bean shaped seed and then holds between her fingers and then channels her magic into like she did with the man eating plants which enveloped by a bright swirling green magic before throwing it towards the ground as it twinkled as it fell to the ground and as if it was heavy plunged and buried itself in the ground. As previously with man eating plants there wasn’t immediate reaction but then slight rumbling sound begun and grow louder and louder.
RUMBLE
Then a green sprout grows out of the ground at first slowly but steadily as it grown thicker and bigger high above the damaged mansion into the clouds in the sky much like in fairy tales with magic bean stalks thought it’s unlikely that there’s any castle floating the in sky up there by chance.
The shaking threatened to bring down the remains of the hall way but somehow it held throughout the massive bean stalks growth. “There you go” said Belinda “See where you would be without me?”
“You have your usefulness” said Mance agreeing in part as he carefully approaches light footed as possible the trunk of the stalk as gives it a push with bulky arms but it wouldn’t budge. However the wooden flooring hanging half of the edge broken from is wait luckily his reflexes allowed into keep is balance step back on to a more solid part as the broken wood falls to the rubble. “It seems solid enough but can’t say the same for the floor we standing on, well shall we go?”
“Lead on” said Belinda motioning to the larger man to go first. “I follow after”
“Hmm afraid I will fall on you?” asked Mance as he took a short leap on to the bean stalk as he grasped to it. “Do I look that clumsy? I have been doing stuff like this since you were still in diapers”
“Can’t blame me Mance-san being squashed is not a good look for me” said Belinda jumping over to the bean stalk and hanging on one of the large leafs above Mance who was making his way down. “And it’s you’re not exactly a spring chicken anymore either”
“Your right I am not young as I once was but I can still move better than you and Victor” said Mance who was now already half way down and making good progress.
“Heh” said Belinda “You seem to be strangely talkative mood for once”
“Am I? It’s just I haven’t got much to say to you guys usually” said Mance “I don’t want to get caught up in You and Victor – sans pointless bickering I am too old for all that”
“Oh is that so and here I thought you were turning over a new leaf” said chided Belinda
After a short while the pair made it down as they were observed by someone a short distance away. “So you finally present yourselves?” said a familiar voice.
“Huh” said Belinda looking around
“Hmm” said Mance spotting Gallus sitting on a large low rock a short distance from the field of rubble. He is still wearing his ex-quipped armour he finished Bero in and drinking from his green cantina as if he was taking a break from a stroll. His large two handed sword is stabbed into the ground front of him. “How are things on your end?” asked Gallus casually relaxed fashion. “It went smoothly Victor-san is currently guarding the hostages”
“Good I was right to trust you guys with the clean-up” said Gallus taking another swig. Belinda looked around restlessly “Where’s Aika-chan?” asked Belinda worriedly “I don’t see her” Mance looks around him as well and said “I don’t see Lucy-san either”
“That’s because they are not here” said Gallus
“What do you mean there not here” said Belinda getting a little annoyed by Gallus casual and laid back responses to the whereabouts of their comrade and friend.
“So you never got to Lucy-san?” said Mance disappointed evident in his tone.
“Sadly no She was gone by the time Me and Aika reached here and only that foolish old man was here to greet us he was very forthcoming either” said Gallus pointing at Bero lying among the rubble. “Then where is Aika-chan?!” asked Belinda again more forcefully and concerned. Gallus didn’t answer and took another mouthful of the liquid in his cantina before motioning and pointing towards the rubble a short distance away where the tower ruins lie. “..Eh...” said Belinda letting go of Gallus and looking where is pointing hoping to see her young team mate but could only see the rubble and nothing more significant. “Where... I don’t see her” Mance was also observing but remained silent as usual his thoughts privy only to himself. “Down there” said Gallus “She is somewhere down there”
“What! What you mean somewhere down there!?” said Belinda In disbelief at her team mates casual disposition to the youngest members absence as if it wasn’t of any great importance. “You mean she is buried beneath… all that” said Belinda her voice trembled as if she couldn’t believe what she was saying in her own voice.
“So Aika-san is dead” said Mance breaking the silence his tone was more emotional compared to his usual stern cold attitude and voicing what Belinda couldn’t or wasn’t willing to say.
Gallus gave them a look that could of come off as ‘are you stupid’ before taking another swag of drink before continuing as Belinda stares at him incredulously and as she is about to voice her thoughts that were stirring inside her Gallus continued while Mance looked on silent. “She isn’t dead... Hmm... well I don’t think so anyway” said Gallus pondering as he pauses in thought “But I know she is somewhere down there but where even I don’t know”
“You have to be clearer than that” spat out Belinda disgusted by Gallus “We are talking about little Aika here how can you speak so light...” Gallus interrupted her “Keep your knickers on Aika is one of us she doesn’t die that easily she had good head start before the tower collapsed”
“How can you be so careless and get separated” said Belinda bombarding Gallus with more questions still grief stricken by the seeming demise of her friend. “What do you mean by ‘head start’ anyway?”
“I had no choice it was safer that way as well, She would have been in danger either way and it was the only way to gain ground on Lucy-san” said Gallus defending his actions calmly “Despite what it may seem like I had the best intentions and Aika knew what she was doing would be dangerous as all of our work is She maybe young but she is as helpless and in need of looking after as you like to think”
“So you sent Aika-san after Lucy-san” said Mance “I was going to ask about what happened with her”
“Yes I did it turned out She has already fled the tower by time Me and Aika arrived using an escape tunnel that lead somewhere down there but I didn’t see it until after I was in the air and saw a trap door” said Gallus “During a brief opening in the battle I sent Aika down to follow and find Lucy but not to engage her and it also kept her out of the harms away from the rest of my clash with that old man”
“You expect Lucy-san to put up a fight?” inquires Mance “Providing She hasn’t been crushed by the falling debris along with Aika-san”
“I don’t think My gut tells me they both fine I don’t know about Lucy but Aika had several minutes before it collapsed and for all we know the tunnel could of withstood the falling stone” said Gallus “I don’t know her combat ability but considering her mentor put up quite a fight it wouldn’t surprise if Lucy has already picked up and thing or two from him as well so who knows”
“I see then in that case We should find the exit of the tunnel it probably somewhere in this Konzern but the sheer size of this place will make that exceptionally difficult” said Mance
“Maybe one of the staff we captured knows something about that” said Belinda re-joining the conversation “We have several hostages with Victor right now one of them could be the answer to finding Aika and that Lucy girl”
“Oh so you’re back to business now it seems” said Gallus
“… I just want find Aika and get the money and be done with all of this” answered Belinda
“Well Gallus – sama we should be on are way” said Mance “The longer we waste time here Lucy could slip away and we will never find her since we don’t know her destination and this will be all with be for naught”

“No I said I have better plan” said Gallus reaffirming his decision. “There is little point chasing after Lucy and wasting time looking for the exit even if someone knows where it leads too Lucy could of already came through by the time we get to it”
“But then she will escape anyway we obviously can’t follow them with it gone with the tower” said Belinda trying to reason with Gallus “And if they didn’t escape but are hurt somewhere they might die and with Lucy gone any leverage to blackmail Mr Heartfilia and by the off chance they unhurt do you think it will be easy for Aika to capture and bring Lucy here to us they could be stuck in undamaged area but unable to able to escape the tunnel”
“Belinda-san is correct and by now the Arland watch has surely noticed something is happening here with this level disturbance we can’t afford to wait for Aika to reach here with the girl the guards will be on us in a matter of hours” agreed Mance “But you seem to have a plan so let’s here Gallus –sama”
“I know all that and I always have a plan, As you said the law will be coming here soon enough we don’t want Lucy-san running to them and being outside of our reach as we all agreed we wanted to avoid incurring any unnecessary heat from a bounty” said Gallus confidently “That is why I want You Mance and Belinda to head towards Arland and cut off Lucy-san before She gets the chance to She is undoubtable heading there I know I would”

“…. Fine then but you better tell me as soon as you do or else... I” warned Belinda reluctantly agreeing after much prodding despite her motherly instincts wanting her to search for Aika.
“By the days end we will all be rich and ready to start our new life’s so we all after do our part to makes sure there isn’t any more slip ups the plan might not have gone as we originally planned but we can still make it succeed if we keep focused on our objectives” said Gallus reassuring his team mates.

What happened I didn’t even see it? I thought shocked as I see Victor fall to the ground in an instant there didn’t seem to be any injuries but his hair seem to have been cut and fell down with him on to the ground leaving a vertical row of hair reminiscent you might see in punk magazines others he was now shaven every else on formerly full head of hair. Cancer was standing behind him facing the opposite direction his scissors pried open in front of him. Victor twitched and spasms on the floor defeated. He doesn’t look hurt but I guess he is defeated wow spirits really are amazing aren’t they Bero! I thought relieved and happy as I rushed over to Cancer since Victor was taken care off by Cancer. “We did it!” I exclaim happily pumping the air all the worry and tension from earlier had left in this one instant of good luck its seems things are finally turning our way. Cancer didn’t speak but looked at me it was hard to gauge what he is thinking but he kept observing Victor. “Cancer You really is amazing I know Bero spoken really highly of how good spirits were as battle partners and it’s all true! I, I was kind of worried at first but As long as I have you and Aquarius I know I can reach Arland and save everyone but first I need to free..”
“Ebi?” said Cancer noticing something
“Lucy Get an away! ebi” warned Cancer looking down at my feet.
“Huh…. Eh...” I said surprised looking down as I feel a hand grasp my ankle “Kyaaa He is still conscious”
“… grr I said don’t ignore me…” said Victor groaning as he increased his grip on my ankle as I struggled to pull free.
“Let go! Uhh your hurting me” I said trying to pry him loose of me but it only disturbed by balance I almost toppled over. Ugh how could I be so careless I didn’t notice at all no wonder Cancer acted like that He probably noticed he might not be down yet. At this rate I am just being in the way… I thought frustrated still fighting to escape his grasp. Victor is beginning to get up while holding on to my ankle I caught his gaze his hazel eyes burning with anger and with his new shave only made him look more scary looking than before. “I said Let GO!! I screamed and gave him a frustrated kick to his nose which causes him to reel back in pain and abruptly let go of my ankle that was little sore from the grip he just had on it. The momentum of the kick and the sudden release cause me to topple over on to my back which I quickly almost instinctively scatted back on my hands some feet away from Victor who is rolling on the floor holding his face writhing in pain I must of kicked him harder than I thought. I sighed in relief at being free from his grasp it made heart almost wench out of my chest when he grabbed me so suddenly. I tentatively touch my sore ankle he had unusually strong grip for such a lean man. “Are you okay Lucy? ebi” asks Cancer which too I reply “Yeah I think ugh” and get back to my feet but keep my eyes on Victor who stops rolling around. Looks like my foot is okay I thought I be in trouble I couldn’t move properly I never get to Arland City if happened. I thought relieved I have to be more careful. “You bitch I think you broke my freaking nose!” spat out Victor rising to a sitting up and giving me right unsettling glare and touching is nose where traces of blood were evidently leaking from. “And its quite draftee in here too my head feels cold…”
“You shouldn’t grabbed me and let go when I asked thought I didn’t mean to kick you that hard but you left little choice” I said defensively “You hurt my ankle too”
I guess My kick must be stronger than I thought. I thought as Victor raises back to his feet as one of his hands brushes the cold Stoney floor beneath he touches something with his fingers that catches his attention as he looks down as he picks it up and his eyes widen in surprise “Huh.. Brown hair” and is hand instinctively reaches for the crown of his head where something is missing. “Eh... Huh….” He drops the pieces of hair back to the floor and then with his other hand pats his mostly shaven head in an increasing panicked frenzy. “Huh… What the hell… no way… How did... this happen!!!” Victor blurting out the last statement increasingly louder as He reaches down the floor “Then…. This... hair on the floor is… MINE!?”
Yeah Cancer cut his hair earlier... I thought as I got another look at him now trying to hold off a giggle. It is pretty draftee in here though... But still now I look at him again He looks pretty funny... He should really have it all shaven get... ha-ha.
Victor’s eyes narrow on me then he bellow angrily as he heard my strained giggle. “You…! What have you done to My hair! How dare you do that…”
“It wasn’t me ha-ha” I said through giggles I tried to sound quite serious but I guess it wasn’t very convincing with me still giggling over him.
“Lies! grrr” said Victor getting angrier flexing his hands “I teach you to laugh at me see if it’s so funny when you head is ringing”
“… Sorry... I can’t... Help… it” I said trying to shake of the amusingness of his hair as I feel his magic beginning to rise as is his anger towards me. Victor moves closer his hands ready as they glow ready to strike most likely with similar effects to the pickle jar earlier. “Now see who is laughing!” warned Victor as unleashes a loud boom of sound “Sound Drum!”
“Eeek!? I squeaked as the attack came onwards towards me.
Ah I need move… huh… what… I can’t move come on…. This bad… I can‘t move is it…. Fear it’s not some magic is it… This is going... to hurt. I thought as I desperately tried to move out of the way anywhere is preferable to where I was currently standing but My body didn’t respond as if it was made of cement I tried and tried the attack almost upon me I closed my eyes reflexively waiting for the attack to hit me but…
“Huh!?” grunted Victor in surprise.

I never felt anything I heard the boom from the attack behind me and body suddenly felt weightlessly as if in the air but only for a moment I a feint sound of landing and then I could feel my weight again if not awkwardly it didn’t feel like I am on the ground. Huh… what happened…? I thought confused as I open my eyes and see Cancer’s face looking down on me. Huh Cancer... So he saved me... thank god... I thought as I notice myself in Cancers arms. “Are you okay Lucy? ebi” asked Cancer for the second time in only a few minutes.
“Yes thanks to you” I said as he lowered back down to my feet. “I am sorry I… just froze…”
“Its fine it’s your first battle you have been in right it can’t be helped ebi” reassured Cancer in understanding manner.
“I do better next time….” I said determined
I don’t want to be in the way that’s why I trained so hard with Bero I want to be strong like mom. I thought bitterly holding back a sob. And yet just when I needed to move and needed to do something I just stood there…
“Don’t worry Lucy leave it to me I will protect you ebi” said Cancer lowering me back on to my feet before walking towards Victor who is looking towards us not pleased that He missed me.
“Awe why did you have to go and do that?” said Victor complained like a kid would if told not to do something.
“I won’t allow Lucy to be put in harm’s way ebi” replied Cancer
“Don’t make promises you can’t keep crabby” warned Victor “I will pay you both back for what you done my stylish ‘do’ but as much as I want make that girl scream I almost forgot I need her unharmed… well mostly so you will have to do for now at least until I have my slice of the spoils”
“Lucy goes up there you will be safe from his attacks ebi” said Cancer motioning behind him with his thumb where Victor had come down from.
“No… But I want to fight too I can’t leave you alone to deal with him” I refused shaking my head “I said I am not going to run away I might not be much use in a fight but I can’t turn my back on the a spirit who is fighting for me Mom and Bero taught me better than that”
“But don’t you have your friends to release? ebi” asked Cancer
“Well yes but that can wait” I said refusing to leave his side “I be careful and alert so I promise I won’t get in the way but you might need help”
Victor approaches and then leaps at Cancer with a closed fist while Me and Cancer are in mid conversation “Sonic Punch” BUZZZ but He misses his fist making a faint buzzing sound as Cancer evades before going to attempt to clip his opponent with his scissors not once but twice with either but Victor knowing his target his remaining tuffs of hair he manages to evade with a back step. CLIP Victor could hear how close it was as the sound brushes his ears. “Awe I am almost had you” said Victor who then thrusts his hand forward but nothing can be seen to be coming from him. “Well always next time Sonic wave” “Ah...” I But I could hear a pinging sound that grew louder and louder until it hurts my ears forcing me to try and block with my hands but it was futile it didn’t even muffle the sound as I winced from the pain. “It feels like a giant bell was rung around me and it assaulting my ears from all sides”
“Lucy! ebi” called out Cancer who I could scarcely ear from among the high pitched noise filling my head. Cancer then disappeared in a flicker and I was whisked off the ground just as the ground around me begun to shake from the sound attack. Then I suddenly found myself in the Kitchen where My friends were tied up unable to move but gritting their teeth as they tried to bear the sound that even from up here could be heard but less intense at least not in such a debilitating way. My hearing hadn’t come back yet which was weird and disorienting at the same time as I set down on the floor as my balance is affected and I couldn’t quite stand just now. “Lucy….. Not…… If…. hear Me… Stay…. free… friends… ebi...” said Victor but I could only make out a few words but I got the jest of what he was telling me I think. Maybe I am just getting in way... I thought despondent
I could hear the sound of Victors voice but couldn’t make out what he is saying but most likely wondering where we went to as Cancer walks back down the stairs to continue the fight. I shake my head as he disappears from view trying to regain stability and shake the dizziness from me. Okay I can worry about Cancer and Victor once I freed Spetto and Aed and all the others…. Do what I can right… I thought as I willed myself unsteadily to my feet using a nearby table to help myself up as the sounds around slowly begun to return to me. “Lucy” I heard from crowd of prisoners who words reached me filled with concern.
“Are you okay Lucy… lass” asked Aed the Konzern cook with his seemly permeant red nose.

A loud bang like a drum could be heard down stairs the sound Victors magic.
“Yeah somehow...” I said looking over my tattered dress “But I been better”
“Thank god Lucy I was so worried” sobbed a relieved Spetto who only reason she hadn’t went over to hug her was she is tied to a group of maids and Aed.
“Thanks to Bero and Cancer or I would have been captured already” I said “I wouldn’t been much help otherwise I need to get stronger”

I pick up the cold steel knife which is feels heavier than it looks and then turn and move towards Bero and the others when suddenly there enormous crash that violently shakes the room. “Kyaa” I squeaked surprised and scared reflexively shielding my head like I did earlier in the tunnel as the lights to flicker on and off before stopping and abruptly as it started it was far more violent and loud than anything I heard before and dust and rubble fill the kitchen from the tunnel below. “Lucy… is you okay? ebi” I heard Cancer from down below
“I am fine what happened” I called back coughing from dust I unintentionally breathed in.

“Don’t know I was going to ask you ebi” said Cancer “I can barely see anything down here with this blanked of dirt and dust ebi”
I paused for a second as I raked my thoughts what it could be before dawned the answer and I paled at the thought.
“It must have been the tower” muttered someone in group of prisoners

Did the tower really collapse what in the world is happened up there it’s too horrible to think…? Bero might be... No he could be okay…. Maybe it was something like an earthquake its might not be the tower… I struggle to think of such a scenario I don’t want to believe it.

Another shadow appears through dust and it is Victor coughing as he reaches the kitchen. “That maniac… what hell is wrong with him” groaned Victor “And he told us to be subtle and what is so subtle about all this….”
“I am going to need a nice hot shower after this” said Victor continuing his rant before looking at me and the others. “I feel like the… huh what the hell are you all looking at”
“Pfft what happened to his hair He looks like he attached an old broom to his head” blurted out Aed and some of the others laughed at the sight of him much to his ire. “Shut up” snapped Victor angrily having enough of laughter at his unfortunate hair style or lack of it “Sound distortion” “Kyaaa… Ahhh” The ground below Aed and Spetto collapses in on itself and they all find themselves falling into a hole that was softened from sound attack. THUD
“Everyone…” I gasped rushing over to hole.
“We okay it’s not that deep” said Aed
“I am glad” I said relieved before turning my head towards the still simmering Victor. “You didn’t have to go that far”
“They didn’t have to laugh at your handy work” said Victor “You should worry about yourself” said Victor “You think I forgotten about you?”
“….” I said but before he could do anything or I could respond Cancer stood between us readying to defend me.
“I told you I won’t let you put a hand on Lucy ebi” said Cancer
“Your starting to really bug me you know that shrimp man” said Victor declared “Be gone go back to your world Sonic…”
Victor is about to attack but Cancer catches him in mid casting and kicks him over a counter behind him with snappy gut kick. “I am a crab ebi”

Victor ends up knocking over pans and chopping boards and other cooking utensils before getting back to his feet. Cancer vanishes and then appears behind Victor who barely sees him move either. “Huh..” he exclaims as Cancer begins snipping at his hair with his scissors “You want your hair back then I will give it your Hair Growth - Hair Sap ebi” Then is hair reacts and spikes as if he had goose bumps before steadily growing from his scalp longer and longer. “Why would you…hmm you can stop it growing now I don’t want to look like a bum” said Victor “Huh I feel weird…”
“Oh I forgot to mention by making your rapidly grow like this is saps you of your magic as it grows ebi” informs Cancer
Amazing He is using your opponents’ hair as weapon. I thought bewildered and impressed at the same time.
“What!?” said Victor whose hair reached his waist now and it still growing with no sign of stopping and with each fresh inch is magic wanes away

“I said STOP!!!” His voice booms into horrific shout that knocks Cancer back and collapses part of the kitchen ceiling on to him. “CANCER” I call out concerned
Victor’s hair shimmered and seemly stopped growing as if on command.
Cancer pushes off the rubble off him and remarks “He stopped himself it seems”
“Stop messing with My hair crustacean” shouted Victor before letting out a frustrated sigh “That more like it”
Cancer looked on silently
“I need to take care you before you waste anymore of my time” said Victor “Get ready?”

“Sound Palm” But he misses destroying a worktop behind where he once stood and Cancer counters with side attack clipping his hair despite Victors attempt to dodge. “Hair tangle” A loch of Victors hair falls to the ground but then grows and grasps the surprised mage who frantically tries to pry himself of it but it begins grip more tightly restrain his limbs. “Now my own hair is attacking me” said Victor Incredulous and soon falls to the floor as the hair grows begins to envelope like a rope. “No No… I am not going down so uncool like….”
I think He did it…I thought but that is only what it looked like for a briefest of moments as Victor starts vibrating on the floor. “Kyaaa” I yelped in surprise as Cancer back steps away as He shakes more violently and then a invisible wave erupts from him knocking Cancer back but remains on his feet but I am hurled into a wall and feel a dull pain on my back from the impact.
“Ugh… ah… how did… he” I said rubbing my back as I see standing upright again huffing and puffing no sign of his that bound him. Cancer rushes over to me to see if I am okay and helps me to my feet
“I am fine but I am going to be aching for a while huh” I said playing it down and giving him a reassuring smile but I do feel quite sore but I don’t think anything is broken.
“That was close that’s why I really don’t like long hair…” said Victor “Being smothered out by your own hair isn’t a cool way to go”
“Are you okay Cancer?” I asked My spirit
“Yes but I am perplexed by our foe He has already escape a few of my techniques already ebi” said Cancer still calm and collected but there is a hint of uneasiness from him unlike before “Taking him down is going to be difficult”
“Yes But I believe in you Cancer and I know you’re doing your best ebi” I said “You will find a way to win-ebi”
“I will do my best” said Cancer “Lucy go over there so your be a little safer”
I nod and walk over to the other side of the room where the tunnel is.
Victor has caught is breath and then says “Phew You’re really something I heard of Celestial Spirits but I didn’t think you put up such a fight I hate you messed with do but it’s hard not to respect your strength so I am going do you a solid and finish you off with one of my strongest techniques, So if you got any more tricks you better be quick to use them”
Cancer didn’t need to be told rushes promptly but cautions towards Hair Cull”
“So you’re after my hair again how boring not this time Sound Wall” said Victor erecting a barrier a sound from his hand which blocks Cancer who then disappears and attacks from behind but Victor blocks again with the wall. Cancer doesn’t let up and keeps coming around and around but He can’t find a way through despite his blinding speed.
Come on Cancer… I thought worriedly as I looked on.
“Is there no way through - ebi” said Cancer observing as he attack “What about above ebi?”
“Eh I got you now even your great speed is lessened when you’re in mid-air Sound blast!” said Victor gleefully blasting sounds waves into Cancer which throws up and the force crashes him through the ceiling on to the second floor.
“Ugh...” groaned Cancer disoriented but still enough presence to land back on his despite being unsteady. His vision was wobbly and he couldn’t move properly and then Victor runs towards him and hits him with sound imbued fist knocking back each resonating with the previous sound attack further debilitation effects. “Sound booming drop kick” said Victor confidently as boots him with his feet into the nearby pillar breaking it and causing the upper floor supported by it to buckle a bit. “Ugh” groaned Cancer as he tries to get back to his feet.
“No…!” I exclaimed and run toward

I thought desperately But what it I can do is I am just be minor distraction but maybe that is all he needs I just have to buy time like He tried to do for me.
“Hey dummy did you forget about me!” I said grabbing whatever I could lift and started flinging it Victor who ducked and dodged as the make shift projectiles from fish, pans and cooking utensils flew at him.
“Hey stop that you little cow…” complained Victor as dodged and frying pan manages him on the side of the head “Ugh that… ugh pfft” as he complained a bow eggs hit on the face smearing all over him.
“who throws food at people ae you a little kid” said Victor as I grabbed stool and threw it but it was too heavy reach him as I didn’t have arm strength.
“That’s enough that really dangerous are you trying to kill me you stupid brat” spat out a fuming Victor who blasts a power blast of sound at me sending me crashing into and through a wall I am sure I heard my ribs go crunch from the impact “Sound Canon”

Victor extends both hand palms open the air around him crackles as he gathers magic which unlike previous attacks is visible in golden yellow aura before unleashing upon the attacking Cancer which envelopes him as he hurled away as if he was as light a pillow and soon starts to disintegrate in front of my eyes as I prop myself up with the worktop despite the pain I was in trying to hold back the tears.
“Sorry… Lucy looks like your have to go back earlier than I planned” said Cancer as he disappears as the wave of magic crashes into central garden area in-between the servant’s quarters and the main mansion.
“No way….!” I said in disbelief as I see is dust scatter like my chances of beating this guy.
“Looks it’s just me and you now Lucy how I have waited for this” said Victor laughing which cause my blood to run cold as I try to think of way out of this.

Kaito Pov:
I travelled some distant destroying every carnivorous plant I encounter along the way which is numerous. I could make out the main mansion quite clearly now despite still being quite a faraway still. There isn’t any sign of battle and there Is a few bodies I can make out in the distance most likely fallen guards. The mansion itself looks pretty wrecked in several places the battle that erupted here was fierce. I try to be on lookout for any sign of life but there doesn’t seem to be but the battle appears to be over now. I then catch two people in the distance heading toward magic kart and then its starts reverse and move down the drive towards me at quite a speed with no signs of stopping as its nears me less than a half minute later. I try to see if I recognise the pair and rack my brain as I jump up into the air to evade being hit and run by the reckless driver speeding down the drive away to where there destination is. A women and man they seem familiar… But where… Hmm. I thought quickly as I gathered my magic as the earth in front of the terrain vehicle twists and then suddenly rise as the car passes of it skewing it in the middle and hurling into the air. Wait I am sure they are the bandits I saw in the dead guards memories dam I can’t let the get away! “Earth Magic Stagmite! I got you!” The passenger and driver were hurled from the car on to the ground some distance away as I start to descend.
Mr Narrator: “Oh what a turn of events Lucy is appears to be in dire straits as Victor licks his lips at victory of over ‘Mr Cool’ Cancer the giant crab meanwhile Kaito as run into Mance and Belinda who is on their way to cut off Lucy. What is goanna happen next time on the Tale of Zeref!! And We still haven’t found out what Natsu is going to do? Find Out Next Time on Chapter 8 The Promise!
