Toboe set down his chopsticks; picking up the script, he read the lines out loud; he's reading for every character but Ran and Kai. Those are the parts Tsume is interested in; he's reading them out loud between bites.
"Tsume?"
"Hmm?" He sipped his white wine.
"Can I come watch you film when production starts?"
Tsume scoffed; an amused smirk rests on his lips. "Planning a repeat performance of the Rome reaction?"
Toboe blushed fiercely. Not only had he caused a scene that day by fuming over the actress kissing Tsume; he was too chatty with the staff; ate something with noisy packaging at the refreshment table; had been thrown off set by security, and instructed to go home. And before he got to Tsume's apartment, he met with that slimeball Darcia Rosalini. And to top the night off, he got drunk by accident from a Long Island tea. He slept with Tsume for the first time, but hardly remembers it.
Tsume watched Toboe's emotions playing over his features. Setting down the empty glass; he commented. "I take it you do?"
Toboe nodded. "It'll be different. I swear." He tapped the script. "I won't make a peep, or even stare if you rehearse the kiss scenes." He turned his nose up. "I'm not some dopey adolescent anymore. I can handle situations maturely."
"Good to know." Replied the actor. "I don't want you earning a reputation as my jealous boyfriend."
The young man simply chose to pick off a chunk of miso salmon with his chopsticks, and then stuffed it into his mouth to eat. Seeing the embarrassed sadness in his boyfriend's eyes; Tsume slid his socked foot up along Toboe's leg, smoothing a trail along his thigh. He applied light pressure while rotating the pad of his feet around in little circles. Toboe's breathing grew heavy. His lap instinctively moved for more contact.
"We should keep reading.." he threw out in a pant.
"Read." Instructed Tsume; he's hardly interested in work right now.
"I..." he sighed; his eyes closed feeling the light taps beating into his jeans, causing trembling to course through his manhood.
Suddenly both their phones went off. They gave each other curious looks, before grabbing their device to see whom was calling, but more importantly why?
At the Wolf home.
Kiba couldn't believe what he was seeing or hearing. He and Hige were cleaning up after dinner, the show they were watching came to an end; the 6 o'clock news was playing in the background. Killings, festival dates, and weather reports muttered at the busy pair; they washed pots, rinsed and loaded dishes into the dishwasher; chatting about the show they had listened to in the background while they ate. Not something Kiba often does, because of bills, but Hige insisted. He said he'd cover any spike costs. How could he say "No"?
And through the chatter, he heard the all-too-familiar name. Tsume Keina. It was only natural that he pay a little more attention towards it from the usual news ramblings. He thought the topic would just be about some movie or show he'd be in. Maybe an interview with the guy. But what he hadn't expected was to hear the words.
Television: Hot actor, Tsume Keina, has been taking his romantic side off-screen and found himself a love interest; and ladies, your hearts will be broken twice, because not only is the actor taken he's dating a man.
It was at that point meek interest turned into tunnel attention. All his senses were laser focused on it. Sight, sound, he tastes vomit, his palms are sandpaper dry, and the delicious scent of teriyaki is completely gone as he absorbs the situation. Hige joined him; though, he seemed less invested, amused, yes, concerned no.
Television: The actor was out on the town a couple nights ago, and these photos were captured. They went from speculations of hanging out with a new co-star to an intimate moment caught on camera.
Kiba grabbed his phone, when a photo of Toboe and Tsume sharing a kiss on the streets near a popular donut shop popped up on the screen causing a need for action. "I can't believe he'd do this to my brother. It's not enough he dated him when he was underage; now he has to flash him around town, like he's some..." he couldn't think of the word.
"Door-prize?" Hige tried to help out. But a sharp glance from Kiba, he realized he wasn't helping.
The reporter went on to say the agency has been contacted, but they have no word from them yet. Was this a publicity stunt by them, or a sincere relationship? Only time would tell.
"What did I tell you, kid?" Tsume's agent cooed. "This newfound identity of yours is a gold mine. Everyone is interested, and talking about you. We're gonna make a fortune!"
Tsume rolled his eyes.
"How can you let him exploit you like that?" Bellowed Kiba to his brother. "The guy just keeps coming up with new ways to ruin your life."
Toboe blew out a breath and accompanied it with rolled eyes. Locking his flying gaze with Tsume's, he smiled and then mouthed: "Wanna switch?". To which Tsume pantomimed that he'd rather be hanged. "Kiba, it's my business and Tsume's; you don't have to worry. If anyone gives us issues we'll handle it." He listened to his brother's concerns. About how this will come back and bite him when he applies for schools. That the public will judge him. "I know. And what business is it of theirs? I'm nineteen years old."
"You look like a kid."
"Oh, come on, no I don't."
"What does he have to say?"
"Now we're back to that? Kiba, please..." Toboe sighed. "You promised me that you'd treat me as an adult. That we're equals. Aren't we? Or is that over because more than just close contacts know about Tsume and me?"
Tsume hung up on his manager; he figured he'd let him resume doing the backstroke in his money pool. He reached out for his boyfriend's phone.
"What's gonna happen if people start harassing you at school? Or other older men get ideas that you're solely into that?" Kiba was commenting to whom he assumed was his brother.
"I'll knock their teeth out."
"It's you."
Tsume snarled. "You were saying?"
"Why are you exploiting my little brother like he's some armpiece?"
Tsume scoffed. "We were enjoying our date. Someone just happened to take a few pictures,"
"More than a few. And why did you kiss him in public?" Wondered the protective Wolf ready to attack to protect his pack. "Is it some publicity stunt to make yourself seem more desirable?"
Tsume laughed. "You saw right through me. I waited for years just to date Toboe, in order to use him to get fame. And, of course, others will find me attractive because I'm dating."
"You forgot the: "At my age" part." Sniped the ticked-off.
Tsume snarled. "Watch it."
"Or what? You'll exploit Toboe worse to get back at me?"
"I am not exploiting Toboe, nor our relationship. And, you're not important to me." He got up from his seat. "Good bye, Kiba." He hung up and then handed back the phone to it's owner. "Dessert?"
"Sure." He set his phone down on the counter. Watching Tsume, he felt the corners of his mouth tilt. He was taking hits from every side today. His boyfriend might hide it well in tone, but his back looks so stiff. "I don't feel exploited, by the way. I was aware someone could be taking our picture on our date. It was always a risk with us; even when you were retiring from modeling. You know famous people can't just be civilians right away."
Tsume tisks. "That's true. They can't let you disappear without documenting it like it's Humpty Dumpty. They wanna watch you fall, when all you wanted was to be away." He took out a bowl of Anmitsu and grabbed two spoons when passing the utensils drawer. Anmitsu is a spring and summer dessert closely related to Jell-O, but rather than having the fruit mixed in, it's placed on top, and the jelly doesn't distill into a mold but keeps a loose consistency.
Toboe smiled smelling the fragrant mixed fruits, the most pronounced being the bananas and orange pieces. He set down his spoon and took Tsume's from him; scooping a bite onto the spoon, he leaned the jelly over to Tsume; the spoon then went into his mouth after the bite was taken. He sucked it for a second then ate a spoonful of his own. He always loved the taste of red bean paste - - especially in this summer dessert. He hummed happily when tasting the light hint of cranberry flavoring the Kanten that binds it all.
Toboe leaned the spoon to his boyfriend again, a grape the highlight of the bite. He's not a fan of grapes. "Tsume," The hum of response kept him going. "You do know how I feel about you?"
"Yes."
"And you know it won't change just because people might pester me?"
"That's good to know. People might pester you."
"And I'll be ready for them. I have nothing to hide; and as far as they know you and I are new. They don't ever have to know that we were anything before now."
Tsume got up and walked around the table; leaning over he kissed Toboe. His tongue danced sweetness into sweeter; the grape mixed with Toboe's banana. The younger of the couple seemed interested in expanding on the thought; he reached for his boyfriend's fastens undoing the button and zipper. Stuffing his hand into the entrance, he caressed and kneaded the firm inhabitants within. He smirked at the breath of sigh against his lips before he was engulfed in another kiss.
Kiba sat in an angered huff. How could Toboe not see the full scope of the situation? He sincerely hoped the pair knows what they're doing. He felt the calming affect of Hige's touch.
Television: I hope the young man likes attention; he's now got all of Freeze City wondering his name.
Toboe moaned; his back arched from the bed; his fingertips dug into the firm flesh just along side Tsume's butt. He didn't expect that he would be on top, despite his currently lying beneath his love. He loved it! The weight on his lap, the light bounce of buttocks on the bed when Tsume picks up the pace. He also likes watching as Tsume jerks himself, alternating the task with him as he gives a good tug between caressing the soft flesh.
What does he care if the world knows. What does he care if they see. He can be seen now. Let them come.
The temperature climbed as the pace sped up. The pair were soon ensconced in a white light...

Toboe rubbed his face. The action dislodged something that was stuck there. "Hmm?" His eyes blinked repeatedly until the light coming in was better handled. He groaned and rolled over onto his stomach; he then hummed smelling the rich scent of his boyfriend's cologne just ghosting the air. He just realized something. He didn't roll off of nor into Tsume. Another morning waking up alone in bed.
'Is this a habit of his, to be gone in the morning?' He wasn't so sure he liked it. If they lived together, he'd always see sunrise alone. And sunsets, if Tsume worked late on set or something. He tucked his hand between himself and the mattress to sooth the ache of his thighs. Last evening was a workout. He smiled over how blindingly good it was. Maybe they had seen the sun rise together. "Oh, right." He mumbled. Picking up the dislodged post-it note that was on his forehead, he chuckled after reading it. The thought of Tsume jogging was funny. He's already so skinny, what's he running around for?
Toboe wandered downstairs to wash after seven more minutes of lazy lounging. He remembered the job interview he had, and knowing he could get the call finally pulled him onto his feet. The young man released into the drain. Thoughts of Tsume over him lingered, and his teenaged body was standing at attention instantly. And once finished he scrubbed himself clean then dressed. Good thing he purposefully bought over some of his new clothes yesterday. Now he won't have to head home for a lecture to change out of yesterday's garb or anything borrowed.
...
"Am I gonna have to bring my own cereal?" He asked Tsume when the runner returned. He pulled his gaze from the sweaty figure, out of breath, and toweling-off. "You have no good selections." He pointed at his own. "I'm eating Honey Graham flakes." He talked around a mouthful. "At least get the more popular O's."
"The store was out." He headed for the bathroom. "We'll shop together, your highness."
"That's 'Majesty' to you, pal." He snickered when the sweat dampened towel smacked against the back of his head. He picked it up and gave it a sniff. 'Am I a pervert?' Was his sudden wonder. He liked smelling Tsume. All of him. Good or bad. It felt.. like a closeness. Although, he has yet to smell any bad scent from his boyfriend. The guy seriously must perspire euphoric fragrances. They'd be condemning his gym clothes if such authorities were real.
Toboe was done with breakfast before Tsume joined him. The actor fixed himself some coffee and ate a toasted bagel with butter. "I might get word from an interview I went in for. When are we shopping?"
"After breakfast."
Toboe turned on the television. He watched a game show until it went to commercials, then he changed the channel to a cartoon. He grimaced at the humor; he wondered if writers really believe that kids find it funny? Stopping on a news channel he listened to them rattle off festival dates. "We're gonna date, too, right Tsume?"
"Of course."
"You wanna go to a festival with me?"
"Do I have to dance?"
"Not if you don't want to."
"Ok."
"Good. We'll go over the weekend."
The festival actually lasts the entire month of July. Go to any specific area of the city and you've pretty much attended a festival whether you're participating or simply passing through.
"They're talking about those photos again." He mentions. "We do look pretty sneaky in them." He doesn't recall being so stealthy that night. A bit shy by the newness but that was it. One photo kinda looks like Tsume was trying to cover him up. He had actually picked a leaf from his hair, they weren't hiding his face. The media sure could be creepy.
"You ready?" Tsume straightened himself from the leaned position against the island.
"Yup." He turned off the television as he stood. "And don't worry, I do have money."
"Good. Save it for your needless dorm expenses."
The pair made faces at each other over the dig. They locked up then headed off to the market.
...
The store was like wandering a ticked-off beehive this morning. The heat would spike in the afternoon, so everyone was getting what needed to be done out of the way. Toboe was delighted on the inside. As they walked around, there were times when Tsume tucked himself against his back to get out of the way of traffic. His heat mingled with his own. They weren't going to buy much, just a few things; they have a basket instead of a cart.
At first, no one noticed them. They just more faceless people in the crowd. But, slowly, when they were standing beside the pair as they were mulling over an item, whispers began. A woman even dared to strike up conversation. Not about the report, but just casual banter.
"Can you believe the quality of vegetables these days?" She's holding a crop of celery. "So many imperfections, but they still want your four dollars."
"The nerve." Toboe played along. "I don't really eat the stuff, so I wouldn't notice." He picked up a cucumber and stuffed it into the basket. "Milk?" He asked Tsume.
They were just about to walk away, when they woman alerted them back to her attention. "You look awfully familiar. Have I seen you before?"
"Doubt it." He replied. "You might have seen him a dozen times." He pointed at Tsume with his thumb.
The woman openly ogled the familiar actor. She is indeed a fan, but has never seen him in person, just on the bigscreen. She shyed away from his gaze behind the lightly tinted lenses of his sunglasses. "Um.." she played coy. "Oh my Go... Yes! You're Dominique Kanawut! I loved that movie; your dialogue was so romantic." Although, the way she touched at her collar proclaimed more to the declaration.
Tsume played a mixed character; in a movie about a woman who'd lost her memory. She had been with Tsume all along, but he didn't want to tell her, he wanted her to fall for him again. It was very romantic. And if Toboe could admit it about a straight couple; it was a reason to open the front of one's pants to get a little oxygen.
Tsume said nothing. He simply nodded. What could he say? He didn't write the script.
"Could I have an autograph?"
"Sure." He took the pen she'd produced from her purse and waited for her to find an empty page in her dayplanner.
Busy life. Appointments. Kid's schedules. Meals. Meeting random movie stars was not a constant occurrence for her to have figured she'd need to save some space on paper.
"Thank you." She said handing over her book. "I'm Anko."
"Anko." Tsume repeats to be sure he heard her over the chatter and music playing overhead. It's been a while since he's shopped for himself at this time of day. Usually he shops during the low humanity hours. So this was all very invasive. Not bothersome, just taxing. Because another book aimed his way after he handed Anko her's back.
"Oh, silly me, I never caught your name?" She said.
'Heh heh, I can be crafty too lady.' Thought the sly Wolf. "Nice to meet you," he bowed. "I'm..." he glanced down. "Shoot! We forgot tofu." Turning, he waved over his shoulder. "Come on, Tsume."
He handed back the fourth booklet. Then followed after Toboe, leaving an array of whispers behind.
It kept on happening. Each aisle. He must have met sixteen strangers that day. And making up sixteen names for himself wasn't easy; but it sure was fun.
"Where should we parade around next?" He asked his attention getting boyfriend. Although, it seemed to be that he was the happening star in the moment. He's only ever had this much attention from his brother. Not even once he finally revealed his burns to his classmates was he so focused upon. It was cool!
"Lunch?"
"Not yet. Let's drop the bags off; we can walk around the park for a while."
Tsume snickered. "Are you there are enough people at the park for the visit?" He draped his arm around his love. Of course, with the way Toboe's head was swelling, anyone who's not at the park but interested would surely see him in the distance. Grinning like a fool, but acting shy. He wanted to ravage him shamelessly for being so adorable yet delectable.
"Where's your driver? Do you think he'd drop the food off for us?" He bounced the bag in his arms a bit higher. "Then we won't have to make two trips." Receiving no reply, he alerted him. "Tsume?"
"Hmm? Oh, whatever."
"I didn't say anything that would take that response. What are zoning out on?" He looked around.
"Find a mirror." Comments the infatuated.
Toboe blushed. "Let's call, Jeshi."
Tsume got on the phone with his driver; he had a feeling that if the man wasn't so mild mannered, he'd be pissed over having to drive over to the area, pick up groceries, drive to his studio apartment; and on top of that, put the food away for them. The man should be paid two checks. One for driver and the other an assistant.
He hung up once the instructions were clear. "Park?"
"Park." Wrapping an arm around Tsume's waist; he rests his head on his shoulder.
The pair walked back to Tsume's car. They placed the groceries on the back seat. And stood around the vehicle waiting for the actor's driver to arrive. He and Tsume were having a good laugh at the shoppers from earlier. They were really too much. Very out-of-character for inhabitants of Freeze City. Their attitude was usually: Didn't see you there; now move.
But today all eyes were on them. And currently, a pair is set on Toboe Wolf. And it's casting glares briefly at Tsume Keina.
