The next morning, everyone was having breakfast in the main dining room and to some surprise Terra joined them. They were thrilled that she was starting to regain some of her strength.
"Welcome to breakfast, Terra," Hermes said, softly before sipping his tea.
“It been a long time since I had meals with so many young and handsome men, but that was when I was in school!” Terra said, with a grin.
“There would have been one female here but she had to go off to Earth to do something,” said Zeus.
“Shawn, correct?” asked Terra.
Alantas nodded. "Aye, she's helping Michuri and Haruka move into a larger apartment."
“When I return to Earth, there is one apartment building that is going to come down and a new one in it’s place, where new memories will be created there and the old ones erased,” said Terra.
Alantas nodded in agreement.
“So where is this apartment building located at?” asked Ares.
“Where my bastard of a brother used to live in, that apartment building is going to be bought out and by the end of this month, everyone will be moved out and the building demolished by the end of the next month,” said Terra.
“That will be a sight to behold watching that monster fall.” Zeus said.
Eros grinned. "Maybe you and Alantas should take it down with your powers."
“If we were to concentrate on that one building, it might happen but there are many things that could go wrong that it would cause a very powerful earthquake for the city. I would rather have it demolished in a more controlled way than having a Sailor Soldier and a not too well trained Sailor Senshi handling that job,” Terra said.
“At least you are honest about your ability, Terra.” Solace said.
Ares nodded in agreement as he dug into his breakfast.
“But after we teach you how to wield your powers, you will be able to topple a building without any worries by an earthquake,” said Solace.
“True. I do have one question that needs answering,” asked Terra.
“And that is,” replied Alantas.
“Who brought me that stuff cat? This morning, I woke up to see a stuff cat sitting in front of me on my bed,” Terra said.
Kafir shifted in his chair. "It is a get well soon gift from Usagi and I."
“Tell her Arigato, Kafir. I really liked the cat,” said Terra.
Soon, the discussion went to what they were planning for Terra that day and surprisingly, it was going to be training of her powers to see how long it would take her to perfect them before she went into battle as a neonate Sailor Senshi.
“It would get you killed if you went in like you are now, Terra,” said Ares.
Hermes nodded his agreement. "Without proper control, your powers could kill you."
“I most heartily agree with you both. I have just found my family and I do not intend on getting myself killed any time soon and I do believe I need to be trained using my powers,” Terra said.
"You're also going to have to learn to keep your emotions in check. Our powers are deeply connected to what we feel." Alantas informed her.
“I know. I am usually the calmer one in my family, before he killed them,” spoke Terra.
They were intrigued by that and tried to get her to explain more about who she was talking about but she refused to speak about it.
Alantas gave them a warning look and shook his head. The others agreed silently and returned to their meal.
“Maybe one day, you can share it with us, sister?” offered Solace, as he poured more tea into his cup.
Hermes nibbled on his scrambled eggs, watching her carefully for signs of distress. When he noticed that there was none got the conversation up about fighting techniques using their powers.
“Your power will be different than ours but just wait till you feel the energy that it has flowing through you. It is the best feeling beyond being with the one you love!” Eros said.
Ares grinned. "I remember my first henshin. It's just about equal to sex in my opinion."
Terra looked down at her plate as her jaw clenched tightly. "Unlike you, my first time was not out of love or lust." she whispered.
"Then it doesn't count." Eros stated. "You're still a virgin, a virgin of heart and mind."
“How can I be a virgin, when that monster took me by force!” snapped Terra, her eyes glowing a green glow as the table started to shake.
Alantas's eyes glowed and the earth tremors slowly subsided as he used his powers to calm the tremors down.
"Did you love him? Did you enjoy it? No. There for you have never experienced making love. You are therefore a virgin."
Alantas’ placed his hand on his cousin’s hand gently. “It’s true, Terra. You are a virgin woman to all other men. There will be one day a man who will walk into your life that will erase the memories of his touch on your body to where you will love the touch instead of fearing it. I can tell you fear that.”
Hermes spoke, “Tell us about your relationship or what not a relationship with Mamoru or Endymion, Terra.”
"We never had a loving brother/sister relationship. From the day I was able to walk he would hit me and abuse me call me names and things like that and it was the same when he was Endymion and I just Terra. It was the day our parents died that he did what I thought was bad." Terra said.
Alantas asked, “What did he do?”
“I was only three years old to his nine years. Mamoru was caught by our father beating me up. I was badly beaten by Mamoru before dad found him and me on the floor blood coming out of my mouth and nose. Mamoru was slapped by our father and was told that he was going to be thrown in jail for what he did. They hauled him into the car and drove towards town where they planned on giving him to the cops for assault and battery. They never did make it to the police. The car had an accident which was caused by Mamoru, who knocked my mom out and then killed my dad with a hard blow to his nose. Mamoru faked his memory loss but he knew what he did and got away with it.” Terra said.
Kafir's jaw tightened. It was just exactly what he had always suspected about him. “So what happened next, Terra?”
“I was sent to a foster care because of what looked like child abuse done by my parents. I kept telling them that it was Mamoru who had done it. But he acted like the perfect little angel. I was screaming for them not to believe him. But they believed him over me with the bruises the size of a nine year old’s hand.” Terra said. Ares clenched his fist so tight under the table, that he broke the skin on his hand. “I was in a great foster home, I loved the foster parents that I lived with till I was fourteen years old when Mamoru came back and claimed me as his sister. I had forgotten what he had done to me as a young child till three years after I came ‘home’ to live with him…,” said Terra.
Alantas touched her hand gently to show his support of her. Solace got up out of his chair and walked over to her and knelt next her. He was just about to put his hand on her shoulder; she bolted out of her chair and ran out of the room. Solace with one glance to the others quickly followed her out to the deck where she was crying against the railing.
"It’s not your fault, child of Earth." Solace said softly.
Alantas realized that Terra was forced that night three months after being returned to Mamoru's care. "Oh no! She was taken that night, Solace."
Solace nodded slightly, showing he was aware of this. "Terra, it's all right," he whispered gently.
Alantas bit his lip. “We are here, 'sister', always."
Terra’s tears stopped as she leaned against the railings and spoke, “Mamoru took me that night. I didn’t want him, I fought him but he knocked me unconscious.”
Solace nodded. "The fault lies with him, not you."
"I know it was not my fault but if they didn't believe him but me, he would never have had been free to do what he did to me or to Usagi." Terra said.
"In Japan, it is more natural for them to believe a male child over a female." Solace said softly.
“Mainly because the females are considered second class citizens,” said Alantas. "Even if they show proof that they had been abused by the male members of their family."
Solace nodded sadly. "If your parents were the ones to tell them of Mamoru's abuse they might have believed them."
“Yes, but they were murdered by my own brother. He told me that night the he raped me that he was the one who caused the accident that killed our folks. If my folks had called the police, before they had left the house, it would have carried more weight than my claim against my brother,” said Terra, as she wiped her eyes.
"They probably didn't think he could or would kill them." Alantas said softly.
“That’s true,” Ares spoke.
Alantas placed a gently hand on Terra's shoulder in a comforting manner.
“So what happened after that?” asked Zeus.
“Endymion left me in his room the morning after he took me, I could barely walk without pain but it was gone after a few minutes. Later, he returned and noticed that I was walking around and I was pissed off at him. I told him he was going to pay for what he did to me and I started to walk out of his apartment, when he yanked me back and started to punch me in the guts. He knocked me out and when I woke, I found myself in the hospital with him playing the sweet loving brother who found his sister attacked.”
“But that was a lie right?” asked Hermes.
Alantas nodded, "Of course. Endymion was never sweet or loving."
“He was a bastard.” Solace said. Everyone agreed with him. Solace turned to look at Terra and gave her a slight smile.
“Maybe we should start training her how to wield her powers now, Solace-san?” asked Kafir.
Solace nodded. "Tomorrow morning. Today is a day of rest."
They nodded their heads as they looked at Terra and helped her to stand. Hermes said something about going to the Library to get some reading books. Terra thought that would be a great idea.
~~~~~~~~
Hermes led her to the library. The Library was huge and filled with books. Hermes led her to the Earth book section before he said something about going to get one of his favorite books from his planet.
Soon, Terra is curled up with a book in hand as Hermes is sitting nearby with a book in hand. Alantas came in with a tray of tea and small sandwiches.
"Hello, Minna." he said softly.
"Hi Alantas, come you must read these books. They're great," Terra smiled, as she held up the book she was reading.
He chuckled and sat the tray down. "I'm not that avid on books."
“You should really read them, they take you away from your troubles or your pain that you have,” spoke Terra.
Alantas chuckled. "Everyone copes with pain in different ways."
“I usually hid it or avoid people till my pain or trouble is over with,” spoke Terra. "Mainly because of my brother, even if I tried to tell someone about it, they look at how honorable he looks compared to the information I say,"
Alantas nodded. “People sometimes don't want to look beneath the surface."
“Because beneath the surface may be something that they do not wish to see at all,” said Hermes, from his corner of the room before he got up and walked over to the pair. He sat down and poured himself a cup of tea.
"Agreed,"
“It is something that people do not wish to contend with is the truth about that person till it is too late and then they have to deal with it,” said Terra. "Like Usagi's parents have to deal with trusting a young man like Mamoru with their daughter believing him to be a wonderful man when he was abusing their daughter and then raped her."
"They feel guilty because they didn't see the signs that Usagi was giving off to them." Alantas whispered.
"That's why they watch Kafir like a hawk." Hermes murmured.
“Hopefully, that will change when they realize that he’s not like Mamoru. Maybe when I get back there, I’ll go and talk to them about Kafir being more honorable than that scum bucket ever was. That is the one thing that he is that Mamoru never will be – honorable. He honors the ground that Usagi walks on and would never in a million years deliberately harm her.” Terra said.
“That might work, Terra. Maybe you can suggest that to Kafir tonight at dinner? I’m sure he’ll love to see Usagi more often and without the worrying parents.” Alantas said, as he smiled at her as he poured more tea into their cups.
“So tell me Alantas about your parents, my uncle and aunt? What were they like?” asked Terra, looking at him.
Alantas sat back against the wall and smiled. Hermes looked at Terra who was very interested in knowing more about her cousin’s family. Alantas smiled, “My folks are very kind, warm and very loving. They love their people and their family means a lot to them. But their brother and sister-in-law; your parents and Endymion had a huge falling out when I told them about the assault that Endymion did to me. They put the whole blame of it onto me; saying that I had my way with another girl and was blaming Endymion for it. He sat by their feet with a smug look upon his face. My parents told them that they are no longer part of their family and left their home never looking back. I wished they had asked you Terra to come home with us as you told them that Endymion, your own brother has assaulted you as well. You fled from their home three days later, only to be found by Kafir in bad shape.”
“I remember being surrounded by several predators and then they all backed away to reveal Kafir walking towards me and then I remember being in the Moon Kingdom where King Solaris was having his young daughter’s coming out party. I saw my brother coming into the room and then, everything went dark. I woke up in bed screaming…my foster mother coming into the room to see what was wrong. I didn’t even remember my entire dream but I knew it was important.” Terra said.
“But you remember the dream fully now?” asked Hermes.
“Not completely, I believe I am connecting my mind with my past life and I’ll be remembering who I was in the past,” Terra said. “I know when I transform fully, I’ll remember everything.”
“I’ll take you to see my folks when we return to Earth, Terra. You’ll love them, Terra as they’ll love you,” Alantas said, with a smile.
“I would like to meet them,” Terra said, as she sipped her tea.
Hermes turned towards the door to see a messenger standing there. “Yes?”
“Prince Solace sent me to remind you about dinner tonight. He said to dress formal,” the messenger said before he bowed and walked out of the room.
“Formal? I don’t have any formal dress here!” whispered Terra, looking at the two Soldier Senshi.
Alantas patted her hand gently. “Shawn will help you with that, Terra. She should be here by now.”
Right after, he said that, in walked a young woman, with dark green hair tied in a braid that flowed behind her. “Hi Alantas, so this must be Terra. I’m Shawn, Soldier Neptune,”
“Hi Shawn, how can you be a Soldier Senshi?” asked Terra.
"Well, I'm not too sure on that. But I was able to henshin and become Soldier Neptune by the will of Poseidon." she replied.
“Probably because there was already a Sailor Senshi for Neptune already and that a Soldier was needed to keep the balance, correct?” asked Terra, looking at Alantas and then over to Hermes.
Hermes nodded. "Yes. Senshi come from the royal bloodline since the Royals are said to be descended from the Gods themselves."
“Then, I assume Alantas and I are descended from Gaea then?” Terra asked.
"Yes," Hermes replied.
“I guess we better get showered and changed for this formal dinner Solace is holding,” spoke Terra. “Although I do not even have a formal dress here, I’m sure going to look odd or at least funny wearing my bloodied school fuku,”
"Don't worry, I'll help you out." Shawn said with a chuckle.
"Okay, I guess we better get going," Terra said, as she glanced over at Alantas and then to Shawn.
"Right," Shawn smiled and offered Terra her hand.
Terra accepted her hand and they went out of the Library towards the baths. Once, there Shawn started to talk about how funny and cute Alantas was. Terra smiled as she was beginning to start really like her cousin and his girlfriend. “Shawn, are you, my cousin’s girlfriend?”
Shawn laughed. "We are more then that. We are mates, bonded mind body and soul."
“I hope one day…I find someone like him or even Solace. He’s cute,” Terra said.
"I doubt Solace would be the one for you, Terra. He'll give you the moral support and will care for you but as a lover - no. His heart is already given to someone else." Shawn said. “But you will find someone special. He’ll come into your life one day, Terra.”
“I know,” smiled Terra, as she finished her shower and squeezed out the water from her long black hair. She dried herself off as she pulled on her robe and headed out of the baths following Shawn to a room where several formal dresses were located at.
"Any dress can be altered to fit you in moments," Shawn said cheerfully.
"Good, but I just cannot figure out which one I should pick." Terra said, looking at them all. “They all look fabulous.”
"Try the ones you like on and see which you like best." she advised.
Terra picked out a light green velvety, that was a low cut dress and slipped into the dressing room to change into it. She stepped out to show Shawn. Shawn shook her head no and handed her another color of dress.
Terra stepped out and looked within the mirror. “I don’t know about this one, Shawn, I like it because it makes my skin look so pale.”
"Agreed," Shawn nodded in agreement and handed her a dress that was a pale bluish-green color.
Terra walked back into the dressing room and removed the other dress and pulled the one she gave her on. She stepped out and looked at herself within the mirror. “Shawn, I think this is it. This is the dress.” Terra whispered. The dress fit her perfectly though it would be needing some minor work around the shoulders but it was perfect for her.
Shawn grinned. "I'll grab the seamstress."
The seamstress walked in and smiled at how the dress looked. She quickly pinned where she needed to work on once it was off Terra’s body. “I see where we need to work on this dress, my lady. I’ll have it fixed within a matter of minutes, now if you would remove it. I’ll be able to work on it.”
Terra nodded as she slipped into the dressing room and removed it. She handed the dress to the seamstress and pulled on her robe once more. Terra walked out of the dressing room and watched as the seamstress placed the dress on the mannequin and started to work on the shoulders of the dress. “When will it be done for me to wear?”
“Not long, I’ll bring the dress to your room. You go get ready.” The seamstress stated, as Shawn motioned for Terra to come with her.
Shawn had gone to Earth early that morning, mainly to help some of the Sailor Senshi move into a bigger apartment but also to go clothes shopping for Terra since they didn’t know where her apartment was at. She had couple bags sitting on the bed. “Now I wasn’t sure what you liked in the color of underwear or bras so I got you whites. I had to also estimate your size.”
“Thanks, I like white undergarments.” Terra said, as she pulled off the robe and grabbed one of the underwear packages and looked at the size, as she opened it up. “Size 8 is my size, Shawn.”
Shawn smiled as she reached to pick up the robe only to see the multiple bruises and cuts on her back. “I’m sorry for us not knowing that you were there in his home all this time, Terra.”
“Don’t worry, no one knew about the room,” Terra said, as she glanced over at the young lady.
Shawn gave her a smile before she turned away from her bruised back even though they were fading – it reminded her of what pains Terra went through just to remain alive and thankfully her mind had stayed sane during that time. She wondered what would they do if she had gone insane because of her forced imprisonment done by her own brother’s hands.
“It was something that I feared, Shawn, going insane. I knew I had to remain sane for that was the only way I could figure out how to get free from my imprisonment. Sometimes, I dreamt of a man dressed in a cross between medieval and samurai armor walking towards me telling me to stay strong. I called out to him to help me but he never seemed to respond,” spoke Terra.
Terra didn’t notice the shock registering over Shawn’s face. She was the mystery woman in Alantas’ dreams. Alantas was dreaming of his kidnapped cousin telling her to be strong.
“Did you see his face?” asked Shawn.
“No, it was always hidden from me.” Terra said, as she pulled on her bra and found thin nylon socks. She pulled on her robe as she waited for the seamstress to return with the dress. “What should I do with my hair, Shawn?”
Shawn gave a thoughtful hum. "Maybe leave it down? Not sure."
“I’ll see which style would look good with the dress, once I have my dress on,” spoke Terra.
A few minutes later the seamstress appeared with the dress. Shawn helped her zip the back of the dress up. Terra started to brush her hair out and worked on figuring out which hair style would look good. She tried several different styles but only one really looked great – loose. Shawn helped her with the shoes. When she heard a knock at the door, Shawn went to the door and slipped out knowing that it was Alantas knocking.
“Hun, you remember the mystery woman you been dreaming of for the past three weeks?” asked Shawn.
“Yes.”
“It was Terra. You were dreaming about her. You told her to be strong,” Shawn whispered.
"You mean she was the one I been dreaming about?" asked Alantas, shocked that he was dreaming about his cousin.
“Yes, now why aren’t you in formal dress, my dear?” Shawn asked, noticing how he was not dressed for the dinner party yet.
“I can’t get dressed without your help, love. You know what would look best on me. I would rather come into the party wearing my Senshi uniform or what I’m wearing now,” Alantas said, as he wrapped his arms around Shawn’s waist before he kissed her lips.
Shawn pulled away and spoke, “Let me get myself excused from helping Terra so I can get you and myself ready.” Shawn went into the room and noticing that Terra was brushing her hair out. “I need to go get ready myself now and help Alantas with his clothes. I’ll meet you in front of the great hall for dinner and walk you in.”
“Okay, I’ll be waiting,” Terra said, as she looked at her with a smile on her face.
Shawn and Alantas headed for their chamber to get ready. But Alantas wrapped his arms around her waist and pulled her close to him as he whispered hot words of love in her ear. Shawn smiled and said, “I’ll save what I have in mind for you later on tonight, love. But we shouldn’t be late as I am going to be walking Terra into the great hall tonight.”
