Chapter 8
‘prisoner’
Li stepped around the charred and smoking remains of the fire, searching for any hint of an orange glow that might remain.
“That’s it?”
“That’s it,” Jensen affirmed. “It’s dead for sure now.”
“Didn’t take that long after all.”
“No, it wasn’t as bad as it looked from above. You were right to yell, cap, we shouldn’t have all abandoned our posts. But it’s lucky the wind wasn’t stronger, or we really could have had a problem.”
Squinting in the moonlight, Li wasn’t so sure. He dropped to a crouch in an effort to see better, brushing the earth with his fingertips.
“Any idea how it got started?”
“Can’t say. S’pose dry grass could have lit up -”
“That happens in midsummer, Jensen, if ever. It’s spring. When have you ever heard of a wildfire in spring?”
His underling shrugged, and Li tried to pin down the cause of his nagging discomfort. Something about this wasn’t right.
“Look at this,” he finally said, after crawling forward a few feet. “There’s a space.”
“Captain?”
“Strange how the fire didn’t catch on to any trees or thick underbrush, isn’t it? There’s a safety space of only dirt between what was on fire and the rest of the forest, all the way around.” He stood and pointed as he spoke, sure that he wasn’t imagining it. “It’s almost as if…”
Li’s voice trailed off as he looked back up the slope, at the castle with its gates wide open. No, surely not. Someone would have noticed. Who would even dare? But then, that fire didn’t start itself.
“As if what?”
Li didn’t answer, already covering the distance back to the gates in his long strides. Not halfway there, he began to run.
It took a full minute of impatient banging before Ralen opened his door, with a scowl that only deepened when he found Li on the other side.
“What do you want? I’m a little busy right now.” He let the door open a few more inches, enough for Li to see one of the household slaves huddled under his bedcovers.
“Believe me, Ralen,” he assured him waspishly, “I’d rather be anywhere than here talking to you. But we’ve got a problem. Someone’s in the castle.”
“There’s rather a lot of people in the castle, don’t you think?”
“No, I mean there’s someone in the castle that isn’t supposed to be. We’ve got intruders.”
“Don’t be ridiculous,” Ralen snorted. “What thief would even dream of coming all the way up here in the first place, let alone invading the castle?”
“I don’t know, but I’m not going to waste time standing here and talking about it. You’re head of the household, what would they be after?”
“It’s late, captain -”
“Fine,” Li snapped, “go back to bed. And when Yue comes home to find his castle robbed, I’ll be sure and mention this little talk.”
Ralen glared nastily, but Li was unintimidated by such looks and merely returned one of his own.
“I’ll get dressed.”
Touya paused on the threshold of yet another wide hall, lined with paintings and spaced regularly with more elegantly carved pillars.
“Unbelievable,” he groaned softly, hoping Sakura couldn’t see his anxiety. He didn’t remember paintings like these on the way in; they were definitely lost. Should they keep going, or retreat?
Both jumped at the rolling echo of voices behind them, and quickly Touya dragged Sakura forward. It was impossible to tell how close they were and in his hurry sacrificed caution; his boots on the marble floor sounded a little more loudly than he liked. At least Sakura in her slippers didn’t make a sound, and hopefully they wouldn’t hear.
Li tensed slightly, straining his ears. It was difficult to pick out any sound over Ralen’s ceaseless complaining, but he could swear he heard movement ahead.
“Do you think you could lower your voice a little?” he suggested tersely, wishing he could order the other to shut up but already knowing it would be futile.
“Haven’t we wasted enough time on this farce, captain, aren’t you tired of jumping at shadows? Nothing in the castle’s been disturbed, what more is it going to take to convince you?”
“Nothing between here and your room has been disturbed,” Li corrected, picking up his pace a little.
Touya could hear individual words now and knew they wouldn’t make it all the way to the archway ahead. Instead he hustled Sakura behind a pillar and froze, squeezing his sister in his arms.
“I know what this is. You’re trying to make yourself look good, because you haven’t had the chance to show off since your promotion. Don’t you think it would have been more effective if you waited until after Yue returned?”
“Not everyone works like you,” was the curt response. “And I know someone’s here.”
Touya could feel Sakura starting to shake in his arms. Worried that she might make some kind of accidental noise, he covered her mouth with his hand before whispering in her ear.
“Sakura, if anything happens, I want you to run. Don’t worry about me, just run. Okay? Nod if you understand.”
She nodded, imperceptibly. They were in the hall now and getting closer, uncountable pairs of feet treading over the floor.
“Well, none of the paintings have been taken. Do you intend to scour every inch of the castle, captain? I’m losing patience.”
“Just tell me what to look for and go, then. I don’t care.”
The group was almost on them. Carefully Touya nudged Sakura and began to creep around the pillar, trying to gauge with his ears where they were. He could feel Sakura’s heart beating rapidly in her chest, under his arms, and hear his own light raspy breathing. If they would just leave this hall and go on, then it would be all right. Go, just please go.
“I’d as soon trust you to examine the valuables of this castle as I would the horses to sit up and groom themselves. You’re both equally incapable of distinguishing a Safina from a Puetin.”
“Fuck you.”
They were almost completely past the pillar, Touya could see movement in the corner of his eye. Again he prompted Sakura to keep moving around, trying to keep the obstacle between them.
“Intelligently put, as always.”
“You know what? I think we can do this faster if we split up. Smyth, you stay with Ralen. Tim, you’re with me.”
“Yes cap,” a couple men muttered, and before Touya could even move two of the party doubled back. Just a few feet away and in plain view they strode past, their turned backs the only thing preventing discovery.
“Oh, and Li,” the other man called out saucily. “If you break anything it will be coming out of your pay.”
The slightly shorter of the two tensed visibly, then twisted around.
“Okay, you know wh -”
The word choked off in his throat when his eyes fell on Touya and Sakura, too stunned to do anything but stare. For one long silent moment Touya returned it, helplessly; with that one simple action he could see his chance to save Sakura whisking away like flower petals on the wind.
It wasn’t over. He would fight until the very end.
“Run!” he shouted, breaking the moment. “Go!” Violently he pushed Sakura away from himself and leapt at the pair, praying for that one in million chance that he might knock them out quickly so he could deal with the other two.
But of course that didn’t happen. With his velocity Touya tackled the taller man to the ground, but hardly had he straightened when a harsh punch almost knocked him over again. He bent his knees and rammed his shoulder into the boy’s chest, hearing a grunt of pain with some satisfaction. Then someone else moved in the corner of his vision and he was dealt a ringing blow across the side of his head. This time he did hit the floor, and rolled once before stopping.
Distantly he heard his sister shriek his name, and wondered why she wasn’t running like he’d ordered her to. Touya pushed himself upright in time to avoid the next swing, dodging and weaving before he planted a hard fist right in the bigger man’s stomach. Touya was a tough fighter, toughest in their village, but he’d never fought against multiple opponents before. While he was occupied the one on his right punched him hard in his ribs, and it was impossible not to double over from the lack of air. Each man trapped his arms and took a step back, slamming him against the wall with a force that made his vision blur. He braced a foot to push away but froze at the feel of a swordtip pricking his throat.
“Don’t move,” its wielder ordered, glaring down the length of his blade and Touya glared right back. At Sakura’s small shriek he forgot about the sharp threat, though, and swiftly turned his head. A blonde man had grasped her arms and pulled her back when she tried to reach him, now he was trying to force her down onto the floor.
“Get your hands off her!” he shouted, enraged, fuming helplessly when that sword pressed painfully into his flesh.
“Onii-chan!” She sounded so terrified, and Touya clenched his fists in preparation, ready to fight to his last breath to get back to her side. He tensed –
“What is this?”
Touya froze at the chill sound, every word cold and hard with disapproval. The men on either side of him stiffened, and the boy with the sword flinched, though he didn’t drop his wary guard on Touya for a second. There was no sound, even Sakura had gone silent. Slowly, fighting back a surge of dread in his throat, Touya turned to look.
The figure standing inside the archway could not be human. He knew it before he could even see specifically why, knew it the moment his eyes found that silver and white creature that must be Yue. No human wore hair the color of winter frost, so long it flowed down his back and brushed over the marble floor. No human radiated such sheer beauty or terrible strength, almost luminescent with whatever power he commanded. And no human possessed those feline eyes, glittering like diamonds and almost as sharp, the way they pinned him and everyone else in the room motionless where they stood.
Those eyes focused on him specifically, studying him for the briefest of moments before they turned to Sakura and the man that held her captive.
“It’s rare that I return to find my home in such chaos. Care to explain, Ralen?”
“My lord,” the blonde greeted, a little nervously. “I really wouldn’t call it chaos, exactly, we did get the situation under control -”
“Ralen.”
“This man infiltrated the castle sometime tonight, my lord, and just now attempted to steal this pleasure slave which I had purchased for your return.”
“Really?” The icy stare dropped to Sakura’s shivering form, then moved back to Touya’s face. He’d stepped closer as the blonde spoke, and now he stood facing Touya directly. He motioned for the boy to step away, which he did reluctantly and only partially lowering his sword. Touya was not inclined to make another break for freedom, even though he could feel his chance to free his sister slipping away forever. Something about those eyes said he wouldn’t make it past step one.
“And what prompted him to commit such a foolish and suicidal crime?”
The words were ostensibly directed to the blonde, but his stare demanded an answer from Touya. His breath stuck in his throat, under that brilliant and penetrating gaze, he couldn’t speak. For one heartbeat, he couldn’t even remember his own name. Then, as if from a great distance, he heard Sakura utter a tiny whimper. The sound collected his thoughts in an instant, he was himself again.
“Because she’s not your slave. She’s my sister. Let her go!” Everyone in the room inhaled rather sharply, at the command, everyone except the lord of the house himself. He didn’t even blink at Touya’s words, or his aggressive glare.
“Sister?” He turned his head to examine Sakura again, more carefully, and Touya bristled.
“Don’t even think about it,” he snapped, ignoring the quiet gasps around them. “Don’t you lay a finger on her.”
The room went deathly silent at that, and Touya’s skin prickled with a rush of cool air. Was there an open window nearby?
“I should kill you where you stand for such insolence,” Yue informed him, and the men holding him down cringed. For just a heartbeat, Touya panicked, and almost cowered. But then Sakura’s petrified whisper reached his ears.
“Nii-chan…”
She thought he was going to die, right in front of her. Touya turned his head and saw her, shaking in the blonde’s grasp, face as white as her nightgown, green eyes shimmering with tears that she was too terrified to cry. He ached to take her in his arms and hug her.
“It’s okay, Sakura, don’t cry. It’ll be all right. I’m here for you.” He summoned the most comforting look he could muster, the look that he’d worn after their father’s death whenever she was nearby, the look that said she shouldn’t be afraid of anything as long as he was standing next to her. And she recognized it, he could tell, her shivering lessened as he watched.
He was not the only one looking.
A hand gripped his chin and turned his face back, and all the breath fled his lungs when he found himself face to face with Yue. The crystalline eyes were almost hypnotic, so close, they seized him and trapped him in a world of ice. Then they moved out of his range of vision, when Yue leaned in so close that his pale hair whispered across Touya’s cheek.
“Interesting display,” he murmured, too softly for anyone to hear, and pulled away before Touya had a chance to react. “Take him to my dungeon, I will deal with him later,” he directed, apparently to the boy with the sword. “And I’ll see you in my private chambers after that, Captain Li.”
The scruffy brunette winced a little, then bowed his head. “Yes, my lord.” Grumpily he motioned at the men pinning Touya, who were forced to redouble their efforts when Touya realized they were taking him out of Sakura’s sight.
“Onii-chan!”
“Don’t worry, Sakura, I’m not going far. Just hang on, okay?” His boots scraped across the floor as he struggled to hold her gaze as long as possible, still determined not to show any fear even as they dragged him away. “I promise it will be all right!”
Unbelievably, that was what he shouted just before his men dragged the intruder through the doorway and out of sight. Yue waited until the scuffling sounds faded away before he turned to his senior servant, intrigued by the boy but still irritated about the whole situation.
“Ralen, you may loosen your grip on my slave now, I don’t believe she’ll try to run.” Quickly the blonde complied, though with a hint of reluctance in his eyes. Yue beckoned. “Bring her here.”
Relaxing his grasp to just a firm hold on her arms, Ralen steered the terrified girl closer. She was younger than most, and considerably less developed, but her face was a picture of fragile beauty. Eyes were like dew on spring-fresh green leaves, so very different from her brother’s fierce dark gaze. She trembled slightly under his scrutiny, and when the silence dragged on she opened her mouth to speak.
“Pl-please, sir, my brother was just very worried about me -”
“Silence.” She shut up immediately, then cringed when he reached to fondle a few strands of her hair. A soft, fine texture it was, but not a very exceptional color. Not as attractive as her brother’s… “You are my slave, and you will address me as Master. Ralen, return her to her cage and then report to my private chambers. I’ll be waiting for you.”
As Li had, the blonde winced and nodded. “Yes, my lord.”
Li could feel it, that knot of dread tightening in his stomach with every step as he climbed. Not even one day back at the castle and everything had gone horribly wrong, and for such a bizarre cause too. All the slaves in the city and he had to get the one with a possessive brother on her trail. Perfect. A possessive brother, moreover, who figured out how to invade the castle and threw a pretty hard punch. Li’s chest still burned from the attack, and he was certain to bruise. It had taken both his men every effort – brawny though they were – to drag him to the dungeons and lock him up, even with Li’s sword drawn at the ready.
And that was the easy part. Li took as deep a breath as he could and knocked, on a door that he was rarely summoned to.
“Enter.”
Li turned the knob and opened the door, not pleased to see Yue was alone. So soon after his promotion, the young captain wondered if he was about to be discharged.
“My lord,” he greeted apprehensively, searching for a hint in Yue’s impassive face about what was coming. The master of the castle was seated in an imposing armchair, a dark rich blue one that could almost be mistaken for black. His white clothing and silver hair made for a startling contrast, long hair spilling over the side and puddling on the floor below. As usual, Li could find nothing in his stony expression.
He swallowed and tried to begin. “Ah, I -”
“Just a moment, captain.” Li subsided, and the two waited in a silence that Li could only describe as uncomfortable, there in Yue’s study. After several minutes, during which Li’s loathing for the intruder grew exponentially, a harried-looking Ralen finally joined them.
“My lord, I’m sorry for the delay. The thief dismantled the cage door to take the slave, I could hardly leave her there for the night. I’ve locked her in the tea room for the time being, I can move her elsewhere if you wish.”
Yue’s eyebrows had lifted fractionally at the recount of the brother’s actions. “It is beyond repair?”
“I don’t believe so, but I certainly can’t do it. I’m not a craftsman.”
“Why not ask the girl’s brother?” Li asked, just a touch of mockery in his voice. Ralen threw him a quick scowl, but both snapped to attention when Yue spoke again.
“I want it seen to by tomorrow, Ralen. And I suggest you make alterations so that future dismantling is not a possibility.”
“Yes, my lord. I’ll have the hinges covered.”
“Now, as for how the boy entered my castle in the first place.” The frosty stare moved from Ralen to Li, who straightened his back self-consciously. “Any idea how it happened, captain?”
“Yes, my lord. Just after sunset he started a fire in the forest, arranging the fuel amongst the trees so it would give the appearance of a wildfire. The men left the castle to deal with it, leaving the gates open.”
“Unguarded.”
Li winced. “Yes. I heard what was happening and arrived a few minutes later, but I was too late. By the time I sent two men back to the castle wall I believe he’d already entered the castle.”
“Leaving you none the wiser.”
Li could practically feel Ralen’s smirk and resisted grinding his teeth. “After the fire was quenched, I did notice it had been arranged so none of the actual forest would be in danger. I realized it must have been a distraction and went to search the castle for intruders.”
“But the captain was not capable of recognizing if anything of value had been taken,” Ralen interposed smoothly, “so I participated in the search as well.”
Li’s mouth fell open, an indignant correction forming, but then Yue spoke again.
“The relative ease with which he invaded my castle worries me, captain. I appointed you head of the guard, in spite of your age, due to your excellent combat skills and promising leadership ability. I hope that I was not mistaken in doing so.”
Li dropped his eyes, unsure what to say.
“However, you did locate and subdue the intruder before he could escape. Well done. You will continue to serve me as captain, provided of course we don’t see a repeat of what happened tonight.”
Li exhaled in relief. “Yes, my lord, thank you. It won’t ever happen again.”
“I’m sure it won’t.”
Yue’s gaze wandered to the window, looking out into the starlit night. He looked, if anything, thoughtful rather than angry.
“This slave,” he mused quietly. “She is not bred?”
“Er, no my lord,” Ralen answered. “She came with no pedigree.”
“Wild.”
“I suppose so…”
“She’s from the mountains,” Li said unthinkingly, and blinked when Yue and Ralen both turned their heads so quickly.
“And how do you know that?” Ralen demanded, provoking another stab of irritation on Li’s part.
“She told me.”
“When?”
“On the way here.”
“You brought her here, captain?” Yue asked curiously, eyes moving from him to Ralen. The household servant squirmed a little.
“Yes, my lord. I did ask the captain to buy the slave, since he was in Terriene this morning anyway.”
“And it was you that selected her.”
Li shrugged under Yue’s stare. “She was the first girl I saw when I got there, that’s all.”
“All the way from the mountains,” Yue murmured. Again his gaze flitted back to the window, and Li felt a vague chill move up his spine. He’d never seen Yue’s eyes glitter like that before. “It seems you made an interesting purchase, captain. You’re both dismissed.”
Ralen bowed his head and beat a hasty retreat, obviously relieved there had been no worse recrimination. Li was relieved too, but he hesitated just a moment before following the other man. That tingling under his skin, it could almost be foreboding.
He wondered just what was to come of this peculiar incident.
It wasn’t really sleep, that he fell into, Touya’s uncomfortable position didn’t allow for that. Merely a thick drowsiness that blurred the dank dungeon around him, dissolving the border between conscious thought and dreams. His eyes closed, his head lolled forward, and with a start he jerked it up again. And every time he was forced to remember it again: he’d failed. After all his hard work and persistence and promises to Sakura, he’d failed her and now they were both prisoners. There was no way he could save her now, and that realization was enough to crush his soul.
He wondered if she knew it yet, or if she still had hope.
A loud bang interrupted his bleak thoughts, and with another wave of pain through his neck and shoulders he raised his head to look. Yue shone white against the grimy darkness, like a moon in the night sky, his very appearance so bright that Touya had to blink. His captor crossed his arms, his expression a perfect mask.
“Welcome to my castle.”
His castle, he said, the one that was responsible for his and Sakura’s imprisonment, the one who considered himself Sakura’s owner. Furious rage bubbled up and he instinctively leapt for his throat, restrained of course by the chains around his wrists. Yue raised eyebrows at that, but said nothing.
“Where’s my sister? What have you done with her?”
“What I do with my slave is none of your concern. You currently have plenty of your own worries, don’t you think?”
“Did you touch her?” Touya demanded, ignoring the last comment. Much to his surprise and dread, Yue nodded.
“Yes.”
The simple answer was enough to stun him speechless, and Touya felt the blood drain from his face. He would have fallen were his arms not chained overhead to the wall, and he was sure he felt something inside him break.
No, not that… please anything but that.
A gentle touch by his face surprised him into looking up, to find that Yue now stood face-to-face with him again. Lovingly he fondled a few strands of Touya’s black hair, those that fell forward over his temple.
“I touched her just like this,” he elaborated, “and no more.”
Touya had been too shocked to react, at the first touch, but finally he came to his senses and jerked his head away. This resulted in a sharp pain in his shoulder blades and he winced.
“You keep your hands off my sister.”
“Is she not my slave, to do with as I please?”
“Sakura is not a slave!” Touya barked, yanking at his chains in frustration. “She’s my little sister and she was kidnapped from our home by slave traders, she isn’t supposed to be here. She doesn’t belong to anyone!”
“She belongs to me now,” Yue corrected. “I have paid for her and I intend to keep her.”
“I won’t let you!”
He knew the emptiness of his own words but couldn’t help himself, driven by that cool stare. Yue knew his helplessness as well as he did, and for just a moment looked as though he might smile.
“And you feel you are in a position to presume such an allowance?”
“I’ll fight you with everything I have,” Touya promised. “I don’t care what it takes, I don’t care what I have to do, I won’t let you hurt my sister.”
“Is that so?” Yue’s eyes gleamed in a way he didn’t like, and that hand reached up to brush over his cheek. “Are you offering to take her place?”
“What?” That took Touya completely by surprise and he pressed himself back into the stone wall, instinctively trying to put distance between them. Dread kindled in his stomach and he eyed his captor with new wariness, pulling desperately away when Yue reached to touch his face again. But escape was impossible and leisurely Yue cupped his chin, forcing him to look.
“What extraordinary strength of will you must have,” he mused, “to track your sister for so far and then attempt to free her, especially from my home. What would it take, to break that strength?”
The dread flared up and Touya tried to shake Yue’s grip loose, failing at it. “Get your hand off me.”
“Your sister is a beguiling beauty, it’s true, but your independent spirit interests me. I’d like to tame it.” The hand left his face then, but instead of withdrawing it traced a path down his neck and onto his chest. Touya choked in disgust and writhed, furious and helpless under Yue’s casual caresses.
“Stop it! Don’t touch me!”
Yue paid absolutely no attention, as if he hadn’t spoken at all, parting Touya’s torn shirt for a better view. Hot needles of pain stabbed into him with every move, it hurt too much to keep struggling. Finally he quieted, panting, determinedly looking anywhere but Yue’s face. He didn’t know what he was doing but he prayed this would be the end of it, that he would just take his hands away and go, leave him to rot in this cell alone.
Yue’s fingers teased the waistline of his pants, and Touya bucked violently.
“No!”
“Shh,” his captor soothed, and with sick dismay Touya felt his hand slide underneath. For the first time in his life, someone else touched his manhood and Touya thought he would curl up and die of shame. Yue cupped the flesh and massaged it gently, sending thrills of unwelcome pleasure through him. He could feel blood rushing to the area and desperately he thrashed in his restraints, wanting to hit, kick, bite, do anything to end this humiliation. But his ankles had been shackled together so closely no attack was possible, and unhurriedly Yue continued his ministrations.
“Wh-what are you doing?” he gasped.
“Demonstrating. I am lord of this castle and I take what I please. You’ll learn this well.” Touya whimpered when Yue’s hand glided up and down his growing erection, evidence of his body’s betrayal. “And perhaps you’re even enjoying this lesson?”
“Fu-fuck you,” Touya panted, his heavy breathing echoing in the lonely dungeon. It was becoming more difficult to concentrate on resistance; Yue’s hand moved with purposeful skill and every sensation swamped Touya with pleasure. He couldn’t help it, he moaned.
“That’s better,” Yue coaxed, murmuring just close enough to let his lips brush over Touya’s ear. “Just a little more…”
The heat inside him was building to an unbelievable crescendo and Touya fought to contain it. He was no weakling. He could fell a tree in under ten minutes, he could raise a wall or a wrestle a sow to the ground, he could –
Yue’s tongue swept over his lips and all his concentration scattered. Faster than he could stop it the heat erupted and he cried out; for one heartstopping moment he didn’t care about anything but the sheer bliss of it.
Then it was over and he collapsed against the wall, too limp to even stand. Hot and wet semen coated his thighs, dripping down his skin, and Yue withdrew his hand. Triumph shone in his eyes and Touya flushed, his face scalding hot with disgust and shame. Coming on top of his failure to save Sakura and imprisonment, this degradation was too much to bear. He wanted to die.
“Interesting,” was Yue’s opinion. “That was your first, I think. For all your pride, you excite rather easily. I think I will enjoy taking you as my slave.”
Those last words rekindled Touya’s fight and he stiffened. “I’m not anyone’s slave!”
“But your sister is,” Yue reminded him, that gleam in his eyes disconcerting. “Sakura, was it? I saw your effect on her, upstairs, how completely she trusts you. Would you do anything to keep her safe from me, even take her place?”
Fingers wet and sticky with his own essence brushed over his lips, and Touya tried to turn his face away. This couldn’t be happening, Yue couldn’t be asking him to do the unthinkable. Hadn’t he suffered enough?
And locked in that cage upstairs, his little sister was waiting for this fate. If nothing else, he was stronger than she was. He promised to protect her at all costs, he promised.
“You’ll let her go?” he whispered, unable to look up from the floor and face that cat-eyed demon. Yue’s hand stroked his cheek when he spoke, but he didn’t force Touya to make eye contact.
“I have paid for her and I intend to keep her,” he corrected. “She remains here, but as long as you come to my bed willingly she stays innocent.”
So that was it. Yue was offering him a deal, a chance to protect Sakura even though he’d failed to save her. And there could be no answer but one, though the idea of it made Touya’s stomach curdle with dread.
“You won’t touch her,” he repeated, voice hardly more than a whisper. Yue must have sensed victory, and his hand caressed Touya’s face a little more intimately.
“I swear.”
“No one else either?”
“That as well.”
Oh gods, he didn’t want to. But there was no other way, he had no choice. To abandon Sakura now was nothing less than betrayal.
He had to force himself to say the words, but he did say them.
“I’ll do it.”
He still didn’t look up, but he could swear Yue purred. “I look forward to breaking you.”
Revulsion and horror shot through Touya and he lifted his chin, ready to retaliate, but Yue was already gone. He just managed to glimpse a flash of white before the dungeon door slammed shut again, and he was left alone in the darkness.

And it only took me eight chapters to get to the real story! Joy. And I thought this would be a quickie porn fic with no plot. Damn muse.
