A Goddess Reborn
(A Saiyuki Fanfic)
Seven
The two groups sat in
the bar of the restaurant, Tejas sitting there happily munching away on
chocolate, while Cyran was at the bar talking away to two guys they'd seen the marketplace
earlier that day. Vayu was sitting there her head resting in her hand bored.
"So"¦ this is exciting."
Gojyo drawled.
"Sorry I'm kinda
broke." Raido had her head resting on her arms on the table as she looked at
her drink in front of her.
"Man we really have to
contact your uncle's temple soon, perhaps they can send you a gold card." Vayu
remarked.
"Cha right." Raido
laughed as she looked up at them. "I was the worst trainee they had, they said
so themselves, I never listened as if they'll just give me a Gold card, even
the three floating heads think I'm a pain in the ass, that's why they sent me
on this mission."
Hakkai just smiled.
"Well you should really treat them with respect Raido, maybe they might give
you a chance."
Tejas and Vayu looked at
each other before cracking up with laugher. "Raido respecting anyone! That's a
good one." Vayu held her stomach as she laughed.
Raido looked at them
with flat eyes. "Gee thanks you two." She drawled.
"I'm sorry." Vayu
apologised.
"Yeah sure." Raido
remarked.
"Good point, I'm not."
Vayu laughed again.
Raido let her head hit
the table. "Man why'd I ever pick you two up on my travel anyway?"
Tejas thought for a
moment then looked at Vayu. "Well you didn't really."
"Yeah we just said we
were gunna come with, and you haven't managed to shake us yet." Tejas added.
Raido sighed. "Give me
a few towns I'm sure I can do it."
Vayu just smiled.
"Sorry you can't keep anything from me. I'll know where you go and when."
"This journey to India
was so much easier on my own." Raido complained.
Sanzo looked at her.
"You were suppose to go alone?" He sounded surprised.
"That is quite
strange." Hakkai noted.
"Yeah Sanzo got told he
had to take us." Goku added.
Raido looked up at
them. "I didn't know anyone when I was assigned this gig, all I knew were monks
and more monks, hard ass, bald freaks who wouldn't even step a foot out of the
temple unless it was to free a bug or something they couldn't squash."
"I bet you, you killed
plenty." Tejas smiled. "You hate bugs."
"Actually I had a
spider collection I used them to kill the other bugs. The monks couldn't argue
with that when the spider killed the bug because I didn't do it." Raido picked
up her drink and sat up straight before taking a sip.
"Getting others to do
your dirty work for you priestess. I never thought you were capable of it."
Gojyo teased.
"Don't make me hit you
with my fan." Raido warned.
Hakkai looked at Raido.
"You don't sound like you've ever had it easy."
Raido just smiled. "I
haven't they didn't even give me a chance I was a girl, and that was enough for
them to quarantine me away from everyone else, even when I got the Sanzo title,
apparently my grandfather's spirit visited the head of the temple and told him
the truth of my scripture, it's a family heirloom, you know when girls expect
heirlooms they think money or jewellery you know nice things, I get a scripture
that has my ass chased halfway across Shangri-La because it could be used in
the Gyumou revival. Seriously tell me if you think that's messed up because
sure as hell I think it is."
"Sounds like you're
getting tired of being a Sanzo." Hakkai looked at Raido. "But Raido you have to
understand, it's something not many women get and at your age, it's a privilege
as well. You have to be the youngest Sanzo around at this time."
Raido groaned. "You
sound like my father."
"Not your step father I
hope." Hakkai smiled.
Raido looked at Hakkai
as he smiled and she hook her head. "No my real father. My half demon father. His
name was Youkama. His own mother tried to killed him." She looked off to the
side. "That must have been hard to deal with. She scratched him on the face
right across his eyes tearing them out, she said his eyes were blood. My step
father said the same thing to me, when he tried to kill me, he said I was demon
spawn and I was a curse, even the monks spoke like that behind my back."
Tejas blinked. "That's
not very nice, I'm a demon and I'm not scum."
"Some humans just don't
understand it though Tejas, humanity looks upon us differently." Hakkai
remarked.
"You're not scum." Vayu
looked at Raido. "They don't know you like we do."
"It's better if you
continue to travel with us at least until the signs are given that we should
separate." Sanzo spoke before he took a gulp of his beer.
"What?" Gojyo looked at
Sanzo in shock.
"Sanzo?" Hakkai asked.
"The priestess is still
being hunted. Once the demon slayer has come and she's put her past truly
behind her, then we should separate." Sanzo finished the rest of his beer,
before standing up and walking away from the table.
"Oh wow Sanzo's letting
you guys stay with us! That's great. He doesn't normally do that." Goku looked
at the three excitedly.
Raido looked on after
Sanzo. "Excuse me"¦" She stood up running after Sanzo.
Vayu looked at Hakkai.
"What brought that on?"
"Yeah Sanzo's even more of a hard
ass than Vayu." Tejas added.
*WHACK*
"Shut up."
"Owwwww"¦" Tejas rubbed
her head and looked at Vayu. "You're a mean mean mean girl!"
"And I look like I
care?" Vayu replied.
Tejas just pouted. "You won't be mean when I change."
"Newsflash your past
incarnation was obsessed with chocolate too, so I don't expect much change.
I'll still toss it out of the window just to get rid of you." Vayu replied.
Tejas blinked. "Even Homura's
not that mean." She crossed her arms.
Vayu huffed and looked
away.
Hakkai looked at her.
"It's tomorrow isn't it?"
Tejas looked at Hakkai.
"What is?"
"The anniversary of
Vayu's memorial service." Hakkai looked at Vayu.
Vayu just sighed. "You read
people so well Hakkai, but not tomorrow, close though, how"d you know?"
He just smiled. "Well
it's nothing really, you were really cold almost as much as Sanzo, I haven't
seen you that mean before so it's a matter of deduction how much meaner you get
to Tejas as to how close the day is"¦"
Gojyo looked at Hakkai
then to Raido standing by the door talking to Sanzo, it looked odd to see the
two standing there talking together, they were obviously in a deep discussion,
Sanzo didn't really seem to talk to much as it was only to be condescending and
mean, or to shout at him or Goku. This seemed like a real conversation, from
one Sanzo to another and he looked on interested, they hadn't interacted much
as two Sanzo's before.
Tejas's head resting on
Goku's shoulder as she also watched. "What do you think they're talking about?"
"Probably why Sanzo
thinks you guys should continue to travel with us." Goku replied. "That's my
guess."
"Yeah with the way he
shoots Cyran down I think he would be eager to get rid of us." Vayu added
looking over also.
Hakkai rubbed the back
of his neck. "Just when you think you know a person they do or say something
completely out of context to what you're used to. It's interesting that Sanzo
of all people should suggest it, unless he sensed something big and he thinks
you guys can't handle it and he's doing it to make sure the scripture stays
safe."
"Why separate anyway,
we're going to India, we have the same destination, it's stupid that's what it
is." Gojyo remarked.
"I think Raido's trying
to avoid you." Tejas smiled. "She likes you that much that she wants to be away
from you."
Gojyo blinked. "So the
priestess does like me, I knew it." He grinned.
Tejas smiled. "Yep she
likes you a lot, but Homura doesn't cause he knows you like her back, I think
she wants to try and protect you."
Vayu looked at Tejas.
"Guess your powers are starting to kick in then huh?"
Tejas nodded. "Uh huh,
they have since Homura gave me this mark, the minute he touched my forehead,
there was this massive surge in my energy and bit by bit it just kept coming
and I know things, see thing, sense them like I haven't ever before."
"I'm a Sanzo and your a
Sanzo to, but your not strong enough yet. Wherever we go we're targeted by
demons think of this as training." Sanzo spoke.
Raido pulled out a
cigarette and she lit it up and nodded at Sanzo. "I guess that's a good point,
but why do you want us to stay around? I mean you as in a person,
we must be driving you crazy, I know how it is to have a group of people
driving me nuts, actually really it's just Gojyo that drives me nuts."
Sanzo looked down at
her. "I think pain in my ass Gojyo was just sent along just to piss me off.
There's always one, or in my case two."
Raido looked over to
where they were looking at them. "They're looking at us weirdly." She offered
Sanzo a cigarette from her pack and he took one lighting it up.
"They do that. You get
used to it." Sanzo replied.
"You didn't answer my
question, why do you want us to keep travelling with you, we each have our own
paths to take."
"That's true, your path
just happens to be on the same road ours is, we have three scriptures, and as
you know this would be sure to get Kougaiji's attention we could be under
attack a lot, even with me just holding two. The last Sanzo was eaten by a
demon without Homura's aid you will be under attack a lot. The scripture is a
priority to get all three to India might help us."
Raido just nodded.
"That's your reason."
"I guess it is." He
remarked taking a drag of the cigarette.
Raido just rubbed her
temple. "Always about the scripture, since it was handed to me and I got my
grandfather's title it's been a curse."
"You get used to it."
Sanzo turned round and he walked off.
Raido just sighed. "I
guess so." She mumbled to herself. "Guess we can hang around for a little bit
to train with you guys, but I doubt sitting round hotel rooms playing cards,
drinking beer and learning mah jong is training."
Raido walked back to
the table and she blinked seeing the group looking at her.
"What did Sanzo have to
say?" Hakkai smiled.
Raido sat down at the
table "Just a reason why we should continue to travel with you guys."
"Hurrah!" Tejas
cheered. "So what was it?"
Raido looked off to the
side her head resting in her hand. "Don't worry about it. But I am not weak."
"Uh oh." Gojyo grinned.
"He pushed your buttons."
*CLICK CLICK*
Gojyo blinked as he looked up
Raido's gun pointed point black at his forehead. "Don't test me, no one pushes
my buttons."
Gojyo just grinned.
"Honey trust me I know what buttons to push when it comes to you."
Raido looked at Gojyo
with flat eyes. "Oh you are asking to be shot right between the eyes pal."
Hakkai just smiled as
he put his hand on the barrel of Raido's gun. "Now now, we need Gojyo for our
journey."
Raido huffed and put
the gun away. "Fine but don't come begging to me to finish him off when he gets
too annoying." She stood up and walked out of the restaurant part of the hotel
heading outside.
Tejas blinked. "She
probably hasn't slept since before that creepy green eyed man took her."
"It's only one night
without sleep I'm sure she'll be fine." Cyran remarked.
Vayu looked at Cyran.
"You haven't travelled with her as long as we have, a sleep deprived Raido is a
rival worthy only equal to Sanzo."
"We kinda noticed."
Gojyo remarked.
Goku looked at Tejas.
"Man are you still hungry?"
"Yeah!" Tejas added.
"Starved even!"
"You just ate five
minutes ago you two!" Gojyo exclaimed.
Cyran sighed. "I'll get
the bill let them eat, but after this nothing else until dinnertime."
"It's your pay check."
Vayu shrugged.
"Alright food food
food!" Tejas cheered.
"I'm sooooooooo
hungry." Goku added.
Gojyo looked at Hakkai.
"Maybe it's better they do go their separate ways, I don't need two of that
loud obnoxious monkey around."
Hakkai just laughed.
"Sanzo's call not ours."
~*~*~*~
There are dark secrets
in everyone's past, but to parade them to the public eye, the respect fell out
of the window in that regards. Raido lent up against the wall and watched the every
day people walk by, just for the moment she looked like one of them and they
wouldn't have known any better. Still she had to acknowledge the scripture the
robes were part of the gig, a gig she had no say in, a family destiny chosen
for her.
Pulling the packet of
cigarettes out of her pocket she flipped a smoke out before pulling a lighter
out of her pocket and lighting the cigarette, she looked on as the wind
billowed about the town, and she pulled out her sunglasses and flipped them on.
She stood there for
hours just watching the normal lifestyles of the world of the village as they
did what they had to do, the mother's taking the children shopping for clothes
or food, the vendors selling the goods to make enough money to feed the
families they had back home.
"It was all so
simple back then.' She mused mentally to herself as she watched a child
race past a wooden sword in hand. "Not a care in the world, not anything to
bring you down except your peers.' She pushed herself off from where she
had been leaning up against the wall and looked down at the collection of
cigarette butts on the ground before she walked down the street.
She felt the wind whip
about her and she flicked the most recent cigarette butt off to the side and
stuffed her hands in her pockets.
"Pretty jewellery." A vendor
called out to her.
"Fresh fruit! Fresh
fruit, eat healthy, good for kids and replacement for chocolate."
Raido just smirked. "If
only Kougaiji had known that, then I wouldn't have the chocoholic we all know
and love today with us.'
She looked up at the
sky the sun was setting in the west and she shielded her eyes from the light. "Such
a familiar bright light.' She mused before looking down.
~*~FLASH BACK~*~
The teacher stood at
the front of the class, the light surrounding them a brilliant yellow white,
but none of them seemed affected by the light.
"Now rule number three
hundred and ninety-seven, never force mortals to fall in love with you. Repeat
after me." She instructed.
"Damnit." Dagas looked
over to Perth as she looked at the front of the class grumpily.
"What was that Perth?"
The teacher asked.
She sat up and waved
her hands about in front of her. "Oh nothing, nothing at all." She laughed
nervously.
"This is soooo boring."
Laguz whispered to her.
They looked over to see
Kana reading a book instead of even paying any sort of attention to the
teacher.
"Why are we doing this
again?" Dagas asked Kana.
Kana looked up and she
rolled her eyes. "We graduate in three days this is revision." She whispered in
reply.
"God this sucks." Perth
muttered.
"Five minutes then we
can go, you can hang on for that long, so long as we get up to rule number four
hundred all is sweet." Laguz whispered.
"Are you four even
paying attention back there?" The teacher asked.
They all looked at each
other then at the teacher. "Uuuuhhhh"¦" They replied in unison. "No."
"This is boring I'm
going, we know this shit already." Dagas stood up and walked out of the class.
"That girl!" The
teacher growled. "Homura will hear of this."
"Ooooh. Homura."
Laguz's eye grew starry and glazed over.
Kana sighed. "That's it
we've lost her for ten minutes I guarantee."
"Ten apples of
enlightenment says it's fifteen." Perth challenged.
"Oooooh you got
yourself a deal." Vayu grinned.
~*~*~*~
Amid the spiritual
sadness, darkness and depression, the room showed no sign of light as the young
goddess sat lounged over a chair brooding, the first sign of light was when the
door opened and Homura's shadow filled the doorway.
"Dagas, I've had a word
from your teacher."
"I'm failing aren't I?"
She sighed.
"No, your not, I
understand the problem, your growing restless as the day of your assigned
Goddess titles are drawing near, but remember this your actions in these last
few days will reflect on the title you will be given."
"So you started wars on
your last few days?" Dagas asked.
Homura just chuckled.
"No not quite like that."
Dagas lit up a
cigarette in the darkness of the room and Homura looked on at his younger half
sister, since their parents passing they had told him to watch over her.
"Lord Homura." A voice
spoke soft from the hallways. "Konzen and the merciful Goddess would like to
see you."
"Tell them I will be
there shortly."
"Yes." The voice
replied and the sound of phasing out was heard.
Dagas let out a groan
and flopped further over the seat. "I think we'll continue this later, I want
you to have a respectable title."
"I know I know." Dagas
muttered and watched as he turned round and walked off down the hallway.
~*~*~*~
Tenpou just smiled as
he stood before the teenagers about to be given their titles.
"I can't believe you
lost the paperwork on this thing." Kenren sighed.
Tenpou just laughed and
rubbed the back of his neck. "Sorry about that. But you know I think this is the
biggest turn out we've had since." He remarked looking round at all the Gods
and Goddess gathered for the title givings of the young Gods and Goddess's.
"C'mon Perth"¦" Yanon
lent on her shoulder, "you me back shed"¦ it'll be worth it."
"There is no back shed
stupid." Kana remarked.
"Man look you gothic
freak-"
*THUNK*
"OW!" Yanon held his head and he
looked at the giant mace Kana held in her hand. "Holy shit where did that come
from."
"It's a secret." Kana
replied.
"It's a secret, it's a
secret, is that all you ever say?" Razephon looked at her.
Kana gave him a glare.
"You wanna taste my mace, because I'll make sure I serve it up nice and good
for you"¦"
"Kana! Please!" Tenpou
called out.
She froze and he
appeared beside her placing his hand on the mace, her face heating up as his
other hand touched her shoulder.
"Remember every action
results in the title you'll be given." He reminded her.
"Kana shall be the God
of smiting and smiting good." Laguz teased.
"Oh shut up, do you
want this chocolate or not?"
"Chocolate! Oh no fair
you have chocolate! Meanie!" Laguz bounced about her.
"C'mon, c'mon get it,
that's a girl, good girl, jump, go fetch!" She tossed it off to the side and
Laguz pounced after it knocking Kenren aside.
"Damn kids." He
grumbled grumpily.
"You are so mean."
Dagas looked at Kana.
"It's her fault for
being such a glutton for chocolate." Kana replied.
Perth walked up and
forked over a bag to Kana. "Here you go ten apples of enlightenment."
Kana just grinned.
"Took you long enough."
"Hey I had to wait till
they were ripe." Perth defended.
"Is this gambling
outside of school grounds? Why wasn't I let in?" Kenren lent on Perth's
shoulder.
She just shrugged and
smiled. "Maybe because you were too busy at the time. With a certain silver
haired female student."
Kenren looked at her
with shock.
"Hey how'd you know
that?!" Kenren asked her.
Perth just winked at
him. "I have my sources."
Konzen walked up to
where Kenren and Tenpou were in amongst the teenage Gods and Goddess's.
"Tenpou I asked you to
bring the documents"¦" he began then looked at Tenpou as he laughed sheepishly
and rubbed the back of his neck.
Konzen sighed. "You
lost them in that mess you call an office didn't you?" He asked.
"Sorry about that."
Tenpou apologised.
"You should see Perth's
dorm room I bet it rivals his office." Laguz remarked walking back munching on
the chocolate she'd chased earlier.
"That's right the three
of you were rooming together weren't you?" Tenpou smiled.
"Yep, I really enjoyed
your class on military strategies." Kana smiled up at him.
"Oh brother." Dagas
sighed.
"Homura where?" Laguz
looked round.
Konzen looked at Dagas,
"So you're the trouble maker sibling, you know how much your antics in the
library last week messed up my filing and sorting documents." His eye obviously
twitching.
"Meh it was a boring
layout I just changed it." Dagas replied.
Konzen's eye twitched
again. "Why you little-"
"Nice going there, if
you annoy Konzen this much you'll defiantly get a good title kid." Kenren patted
her on the back.
"Now Kenren c'mon lets
go, the titles are about to be announced." Tenpou smiled. "You too Konzen." He
added with a smile.
The girls watched as
they walked towards the stage. "Man why do girls always go for those three
guys, I've lost two girlfriends cause they had crushes on those dumb asses."
The girls looked over
at Fernier. "That's cause you're a freak." Perth remarked.
"You think with your
balls instead of your head." Laguz added, "You and Yanon both."
"HEY! I HEARD THAT!!!"
Yanon shouted at Laguz and she just winked and waved at him causing him to
blush immediately.
"It's sickening how you
do that." Kana remarked.
"Oooh look it's
Konzen's pet, he's come out too, isn't he a cutie!" Laguz waved. "Hey Goku
hello!" She waved more.
The shackled monkey
just smiled and waved back at her, his cheeks blushing.
"Every man blushes at
her, I hate that." Perth grumbled.
"Well you could quit
being a whore and be a cute chocolate munching, pink haired goddess." Dagas
teased.
Perth glared at her. "I don't do
pink." She got a seductive look on her face. "But I'd do Konzen any day."
*BIIIIIIIIIIIIIRRRRRRRRRP*
"Too much information."
Dagas remarked.
"Oooh you have a
whistle, where'd that come from?" Laguz looked at her.
"Oh I changed my cigarette
packet in to a whistle, see watch." She waved her hand over the whistle and it
was transformed back in to a packet of cigarettes and she pulled one out
lighting it up in the middle of the assembly hall.
"Man can you make me
the perfect man?" Perth asked.
"I'm not making you a
sex toy." Dagas remarked.
"Damn." Perth clicked
her fingers. "Worth a try."
"Oooooh, look." One of
the other female teenage Goddess's remarked. "He's so pretty."
They looked over to see
Homura walk in the room and he stopped by the isle that Dagas, Laguz, Perth and
Kana were standing in, he just smiled at them before walking up towards the
stage for the announcements.
"He's so pretty." Laguz
sighed.
"Ewwwww gross stop
that." Dagas curled up her nose.
"But he is." Perth
added. "I'd give my right eye for a piece of that-"
*WHOMP*
"Shut up." Kana warned,
"I respect Homura and to hear you speak like that of him, I'll kill you, bring
you back and kill you again until you get the idea."
Laguz just blinked. "Oh
but I was just thinking what she was saying."
"I know, but she said
it." Kana remarked.
"How can you read our
minds anyway? It's disturbing." Dagas asked.
Kana just grinned at
them. "It's a secret."
They all just groaned. "Stop it
with the secret crap it's driving me nuts." Perth remarked.
"ATTENTION ALL
STUDENTS!" Tenpou called out. They all fell quiet immediately as they knew how
short his temper was. "Oh wow thanks." He just smiled. "Your title
announcements will be made, each of you are to approach the podium accept your
new powers and title then return to your seats. That's all." He just smiled
again.
Konzen approached the
podium. "Right you brats I'm only calling your name out once, so you better
hurry up and come and get it, or else you miss out."
"Okay Almida!" Kenren
called out pushing past Konzen earning a glare from the blonde.
A girl with waist
length silver hair and tyrian colored eyes stepped up to the podium and Kenren
grinned at her.
"Almida, you have grown
so much since you first started here, and become a fine young woman a hottie at
that, you shall be the Goddess princess of fertility and growth, Here's your
chosen power." Kenren took the power sphere from Tenpou as he smiled and handed
the eighteen year old her new powers. "And here's my room number for later,
eight o'clock tonight I'll be waiting." He added in a whisper giving her a slip
of paper.
An angry mark appeared
in Konzen's hair and he grabbed Kenren by the ear. "I can't leave you alone for
a minute. Can I?"
"Ow"¦ Konzen"¦ Ow"¦ Hey"¦
leggo"¦ ow"¦" Konzen dragged the complaining Kenren away from the podium and
Tenpou stepped up just smiling. "Moving right along." He remarked with a
friendly smile and looked down at the paper ready to call out the next name.
~*~*~*~
Dagas, Perth, Laguz and
Kana sat round the steps of the school for the last time and they looked at the
main gate.
"This feels so weird,
we've been going here for years and finally it's over." Perth remarked brushing
her blue hair from her eyes.
"I think there was a
mistake on my title." Laguz remarked.
"Occult and Sex, Konzen
called it, we can't argue. Beside you always make every guy go bright red when
they see you. I bet you Kenren was even checking you out." Perth remarked.
"He checks out anything
with a bust size, a pretty face and two legs." Dagas replied.
"Well the catalyst
goddess suits you." Perth remarked "You change everything around and it annoys
everyone."
"What about Goddess of
secrets huh?"
Perth smiled. "I have
my sources."
"You probably sleep
with those sources." Kana teased.
"Shut up"¦ mystery
girl." Perth grumbled.
Dagas smiled. "It suits
you Kana, Goddess of Woman's mysteries."
The four looked up as a
shadow loomed over them.
"Homura-sama!" Laguz
exclaimed happily.
He smiled down at the
group of them. "Congratulations you four, a job well done."
"Yea whatever." Dagas
replied in a huff. "Can I leave heaven now?"
Homura just laughed.
"Always so eager to leave, is heaven that boring for you?"
"Let me think on that."
Dagas drawled. "Uhhhh yes!" She exclaimed.
Homura looked at her
and he just smiled. "All in good time, you have to prove yourself worthy of
being reborn when you die."
Dagas looked to the
side and sighed. "If our parents have been reborn I want to"¦" She trailed off.
Homura looked at her.
"I'm not that bad am I?"
"Oh hell your sexy
bad." Perth remarked.
*WHACK*
Kana glared at her.
"You have no verbal decency you know that?"
Perth rubbed the back
of her head. "Whatever you grouch."
Homura sat down on the steps
next to Laguz who was staring adoringly up at him. "Now that you've finished
school, what do all of you plan to do?"
Perth sighed. "I guess
I have to go back home to my families friends."
"Guess I'm going to
start my goddess duties." Kana replied.
Homura looked at Laguz.
"And what about you Laguz my dear?"
She just continued
smiling up at him, a sappy love sick expression on her face. "I'm going to"¦
hone chocolate skills and eat fire." She replied her sentence muddled up.
The others all looked at her with
a "what the-?' expressions on their faces.
Homura just laughed.
"Phenomenal Laguz, always interested in those extra powers and perfecting them,
just how a goddess should behave."
Dagas let out a groan
at the hint.
Perth and Kana looked
at each other and rolled their eyes at Laguz and her obvious love sick attitude
towards Homura.
~*~*~*~
Dagas had finished
shifting the last of the furniture in the two bedroom area she shared with her
brother. She wiped her brow, "I don't know why I prefer doing this whole hands
on approach to the catalyst thing, but oh well, exercise and it's fun.' She
walked out of the rooms heading down the hallway towards the bath houses when
she stopped seeing a familiar silver haired fertility Goddess by the name of
Almida with another God in the hallway obviously flirting and she blinked.
"Ewwww is that Senpou?'
She curled up her nose and cleared her throat as she walked past.
They didn't even part
from the obvious flirting. "Poor Kenren, he'll be upset to know that"¦ speaking
of that rebellious solider, where the hell did him and Tenpou vanish off to, I
haven't seen them round these halls at all since our graduation half a year
ago.'
Dagas turned round the
corner and she stopped seeing Kenren walking towards her. "Think of the devil.'
She thought to herself. "Oh well let him discover that out for himself, he has
the worst taste in women anyway.'
"Hey kiddo, off to the
bath house?"
She looked down at the
towel over her arm then up at him. "No I'm off to a toga convention it's the new
uniform, white and fluffy." she joked.
"Well honey"¦" He lent
over her and she blinked for a moment at the closeness. "I'd like you to see
you in that uniform."
"Uh?" Dagas blinked.
Kenren just smiled at
her.
"Well I'll talk to you later
Kenren." She remarked walking off down the hall and stopped seeing Laguz
leaving a room and kissing a figure by the door bye, before straightening up
her clothes.
"Seems everyone is
pairing off.' She mused in though. "LAGUZ!" She called.
Her friends stopped and
froze shutting the door instantly.
"DAGAS! HI!" She almost
shouted, or did, Dagas wasn't too sure.
"Well I'm just going
off to the bath house wanna come with?" Dagas asked.
"Uh hehehe"¦" Laguz
laughed nervously. "Sure." She squeaked.
~*~*~*~
Perth rolled over in
the bed and looked over at Kana just lying there reading, it was nice to have
people to hang out with, so long as she said she was doing her Goddess duties
with her friends her family's friends didn't feel a need to call her back home,
they seemed to dislike her anyway, but they were still so over protective.
"I hear you're working
under Tenpou helping him with the history of the Amazons." Perth spoke up
trying to get some form of conversation with the antisocial Goth friend.
Kana placed a marker in
her book before she sat up on the bed and looked at Perth. "And?" She asked.
"I was just wondering
what he's like you know we've all seen his short temper flares, is that hard to
deal with?"
Kana shook her head.
"He doesn't seem to get angry with me, he just smiles and bares it. He's got
the loveliest smile I've ever seen it makes me happy to see him smile so
carefree every now and again."
"Man you're so crushin'
on him." Perth teased. "Tenpou and Kana up a tree"¦"
"Shut up I'm warning
you." Kana threatened.
"Banging and a
screaming oh what a sight to see." Perth continued.
"OH THAT IS IT YOU'RE
SO DEAD!!" Kana growled.
Perth laughed and
jumped from the bed and Kana chased her down the hallway.
"GET BACK HERE YOU!!!"
Kana shouted.
Perth ran straight in
to a figure and he looked down at her and she blinked seeing his arm round her
waist, he had caught her before she fell.
"No running in the
hallways." He growled. "Damn brats." He added before setting her aside and
walking off down the hallway his long blonde ponytail hanging down his back.
Kana looked on after
Konzen then at Perth staring after him dreamily.
"Oh so now whose
crushin' huh?"
Perth just grinned. "He
got a nice ass."
Kana let out a groan.
"You're impossible."
"Don't be such a prune."
Perth teased. "You'll know what I'm talking about once you and Tenpou get the
hook up."
"I'm his assistant
that's it!" Kana shouted.
"Oooooh but we all know
how those relationships turn out now don't we?" Perth teased.
"That's it get back
here I'm going to kill you!" Kana shouted.
Perth laughed as she
ran off Kana giving chase.
Kenren watched as the
two girls raced past and he stopped outside Tenpou's door and he knocked, he
pushed the door open to see to his surprise a tidy office the only sign of
anything out of place was the papers on his desk that he was looking over a
cigarette in his hand, Tenpou looked at Kenren, his hands stuffed in his
pockets and a cigarette in his mouth.
"Kenren what brings you
here?"
"You remember Almida?"
Kenren sat down in a chair opposite Tenpou, "I just caught her with one of the
younger Gods." He just grinned. "Ironically enough I had tried to hit on one of
her former classmates earlier."
"You came to share this
with me why?" Tenpou asked.
"Homura's sister, your
assistant, she's a friend think you can get me some insight in to what she
likes?"
Tenpou blinked. "Dagas?
You taught her yourself, she kept changing your teaching schedules on you."
Kenren grinned. "So she
was the culprit huh?"
Tenpou chuckled. "She
did it to all of us, I think it didn't really work on me, because I kept
loosing mine anyway." He laughed.
"Catalyst alright. But
man Tenpou I have to say that assistant did a good job in cleaning up your
office." Kenren looked round.
"Yeah Kana is really
helpful, she's a lovely girl too."
"Now that they're out
of Goddess school"¦" Kenren began.
"Please don't we have a
working relationship." Tenpou looked at him.
"Man so many of these
graduates are hotties though." Kenren grinned.
Tenpou put his
cigarette out in the ash tray before looking at Kenren. "I'm not you Kenren,
but I guess I can see what I can do, just remember this is Homura's sister, big
things are seen for her."
~*~*~*~
Laguz slipped back in
to the room after the bath house leaving Dagas to head back on her own. She
shut the door and looked round the room. She smiled seeing Homura sitting on a
chair.
"Laguz my dear, we seem
to almost get figured out. Dagas won't be very happy with me."
"It's only been three
months and I hardly call twice nearly caught." She sauntered up to Homura and
crouched before him undoing his cape he wore and she smiled at him seductively.
He just smiled at her.
~*~*~*~
Kana walked towards
Tenpou's office with Dagas. "Did he say why he wanted to see me?"
Kana sighed. "You have no
idea do you?" She asked.
Dagas blinked. "Not a
clue."
"I read Tenpou's mind,
it appears Kenren's been asking after you."
Dagas blinked. "Man, if
he thinks he's going to-" She began.
Kana held her hand up
to silence her before knocking on the door.
"Come in." Tenpou's
voice called.
Kana entered and she
smiled. "Tenpou I brought Dagas with me." She stopped and looked round his
office. "I only cleaned this three hours ago."
Tenpou rubbed the back
of his neck. "I'm so sorry, all your hard work gone to waste, I couldn't find
this file that you put away for me on the Roman gladiators."
Kana just smiled and
walked up to the filing cabinet and she pulled it open. "Under G for
Gladiators." She placed the file on his desk.
"I guess I'll need to
call you next time I loose something then." He smiled.
Dagas grinned as Kana
went red across the cheeks. Tenpou then turned to her.
"I'm sorry it's only a
message I have to pass on for you, but Kenren was looking for you, he mentioned
something about a toga convention and I wasn't to sure what he was talking
about." Tenpou smiled.
Dagas blinked before
slapping her forehead. "That pervert." She grumbled.
"Anyway he wants to
meet up with you, I do believe he's looking for someone to help train the tenki
army, they apparently need a change in training techniques and who better to
help than you." Tenpou smiled.
Dagas sighed. "Okay so
where is he?"
"In his usual, the tree
out the back." Tenpou replied.
"Smelling the pansy's
more than likely." Dagas grumbled before waving by to Kana and heading outside.
Tenpou just laughed.
"You sure do have strange and amusing friends."
Kana just nodded. "I'm
only guilty by association I swear it."
~*~*~*~
Dagas walked outside
and she looked round before looking up seeing Kenren lying in his favorite tree
spot she walked up to the base of the tree.
"You summoned at
catalyst goddess." She remarked.
Kenren looked down and
he grinned. "Of course I did."
Dagas blinked and she looked
down realising he had full view down her top and she just sighed. "Get down
here now."
Kenren jumped down and
landed right in front of her making her jump back at the closeness.
"Look honey I'll be
truthful I need a change in women and only you can help me, I seem to pick the
ones who cheat on me first before I can cheat on them, now that's not right."
"You want a
matchmaker?" Dagas rubbed her temples.
"And a change for my
army, how about a drink and a game of cards and we'll discuss it further." He lent
down looking at her.
Dagas rolled her eyes.
"Yea sure whatever." She replied.
She found herself
sitting at a table stuck in a game of strip poker and she took a sip from the
drink he'd provided.
"I can't believe you
talked me in to this." She grumbled.
"Trust me honey I know
the right buttons to push when it comes to you."
Dagas looked at him
with an unimpressed raised eyebrow. "You annoy me."
Kenren smiled and
looked at her. "I call."
Dagas sighed. She laid
her cards out. "Three of a kind jacks."
"Awww too bad honey.
"Royal flush."
"Oh you have to be
shitting me." Dagas let out a groan.
Kenren grinned. "Okay
honey off with it."
Dagas looked at him.
"You're such an ass." She stood up and looked at him then to her top. "Damn him
I could kill him, but then who would lead the Tenki army?'
"You know forget this,
you're just trying to strip me naked so forget you!" She snapped and turned to
walk out. She felt him rush at her and she turned round in time to be pinned up
against the wall.
"C'mon honey don't be
like that, I do have a reason behind this."
"Uh huh? What?"
"You're a hottie."
If her hands weren't
pinned to her sides she swore she would have slapped her forehead. "And the
need to change the tenki army?"
"Look kid Nataku is
doing all the work, it's not fair on him he deserves to be a normal child."
Dagas blinked in shock.
"Kenren"¦"
"We start tomorrow." He
remarked.
She blinked suddenly.
"So you're serious about that?"
"Of course they're a bunch
of weak ass losers and their techniques suck, a visit from you and maybe they
might actually be able to fight."
"You're saying one of
the best heaven armies of all time are weak ass losers? Do you have a death
wish, I think they're honourable, and excellent warriors with great-" She
stopped as he suddenly had her top and yanked it off. "KENREN!"
"I won it fair and
square honey."
"Give that back!" He
jumped over the table and held it up.
"Come and get it
Goddess."
"You jerk!" She jumped
over the table only to have him catch her and spin her round, her arm bent
behind her back. "Damnit." She complained.
"You know this is a
very interesting tattoo you have on your shoulder."
"I made the design
myself, I got it without Homura's permission, he had me on kitchen duty for a
week." She tried to use her other arm to pry herself free only to end up with
both arms trapped and she let out a sigh. "Let me go."
Kenren let her go and
she spun round ready to slap him one when she was slammed up against the wall.
"Tell me honey, do you think a catalyst and a General of the tenki army go
together well?"
"How should I know?"
"Then I suggest a test
trial." He just smiled at her and she blinked for a moment.
"He is actually really
cute but if Homura finds out"¦' Her thoughts trailed off as she felt him kiss
her, her first real kiss.
~*~END OF FLASH BACK~*~
Raido found herself
wandering through the village aimlessly, it was almost pitch black and she
sighed. "I'm remembering things slowly.' She turned round and let out a
cry as she saw Gojyo standing there. "Ahhhh don't do that you scared me!"
He just smiled. "C'mon
priestess, you need a decent night's sleep."
"Gojyo"¦" She looked at
him.
He took her by the wrist and she
looked down as he pulled her along back to the hotel and she found herself
following not really protesting.
"Sleep would be real
good.' She found herself thinking.
They entered the hotel
and headed upstairs passing by Sanzo and Cyran's room. "DO YOU WANT TO DIE?!"
"Gee Sanzo's not even
giving her a chance." Raido remarked with a chuckle.
Gojyo pushed open the
door to the room they shared and she walked straight to her bed before flopping
down on it exhausted.
Gojyo shut the door and
he looked at her. "You can sleep easy priestess I'm here."
"Thank you." She let
out a sigh as she just began to drift off to sleep where she lay.
