Chapter 23 Blackout

“The blackout will be tonight master, from 8 to 12,” says Chachamaru to Evangeline in the lunch break. It is Monday and everything seems to have gone back to normal.

“Yes, think about the Thousand Master relies on electricity. The barrier around the campus consumes a big amount of electrical energy and tonight it will be shut down for four hours because of maintenance. I just found out recently. “I will go to bed,” says Asuna when the power is turned off and a candle is the only light in the room. “There’s no point in staying up and I could need some extra sleep.”

“Goodnight Asuna,” says Negi. “I will be with you soon. Maybe Konoka can sleep with you until…”

“I’m not scared of the dark. What do you take me for? I’m perfectly fine without any of you. Goodnight,” she says and pulls the blanket up to her nose.

“I’m going out for a few minutes,” says Negi and grabs a flashlight. “I will just check that everybody is in their rooms and that everything is normal outside.”

“Ok, come back soon,” says Konoka.

All is quiet in the dorm but not everybody is in their rooms. The girls had to finish their evening bath early but four of them were dawdling too much and they were still in the pool when the lights went out. It’s the sports club quartet, Yuuna, Akira, Ako and Makie, and they will soon find out that this was a really big blunder.

Negi walks outside and around the dorm and suddenly he spots a figure in front of him. It’s like she is glowing in the dark and Negi recognizes her.

“Makie, you shouldn’t walk around naked like that. Let me accompany you back inside.”

“Stop right there Negi Springfield,” she says with a monotonous voice. “Evangeline McDowell hereby formally challenge you to a duel. Come to the bath in ten minutes.”

“Makie, why are you talking about Evangeline? Are you…?”

“Goodbye, I’ll be waiting for you Negi-kun,” says Makie and jumps up in a somersault. She uses her ribbon and swings off in the dark.

“This is bad,” Negi thinks. “Evangeline must be controlling her. I thought she was ok when I examined her after she’d been bitten but I must have overlooked something. And Evangeline has somehow managed to get her powers back. Well, I have no other choice than to face her but…should I get Asuna first? After all she is my partner. No, there’s no need to wake her up, I can handle it alone. I’m fearless, I’m not afraid of vampires. And I have prepared something for a day like this.” He walks to a place where he has a sack full of old weapons. “Now I’m ready, armed and dangerous,” he says and sits up on his staff.

“Let Makie go!” he is shouting when he’s inside the bath. “Where is she?”

“I’m right here little boy,” a voice is heard.

He quickly turns to where the voice comes from and on the roof of a pavilion the grown up Evangeline is sitting surrounded by the sports club quartet and Chachamaru, all of them dressed in French maid uniforms.

“Where’s your partner? I was looking forward to let my servants have a go on her, but since you’re alone they‘ll have to content themselves with you. You won’t believe what they can do with their mouths. And their horny little pussies…”
