Chapter 33 Nodoka Confesses

Today it’s activities around Nara and the groups will go separately. Negi is free to choose which group he will be with and they discuss it during breakfast. Of course everybody wants Negi to be with them.

“I don’t really have any choice, have I?” Negi thinks. “It’s a bit unfair to the others but I’ll have to go with Konoka’s group so I can protect her. The charm users may try something again; they’re not beaten yet.”

And after breakfast Konoka, Asuna, Setsuna, Haruna, Yue, Nodoka and Negi go together to Nara park.

“Look at all the deer, they are almost tame,” says Asuna.

“Now you have the chance Nodoka,” says Haruna. “We have the whole day together with Negi-sensei. You must confess to him.”

“If you don’t do it today it will never be,” says Yue. The three girls are standing by themselves out of hearing range from the others.

“I’m hungry, let’s go and eat odangos,” says Haruna.

Asuna and Konoka don’t object, they are hungry too and odangos are just what they crave for right now. Only Negi and Nodoka are left.

“It looks like everyone else has run off,” says Negi. “You want to go and look at the Buddha statue?”

“Eh…yes, of course,” says Nodoka nervously.

They walk side by side to Todaji temple and Nodoka has all the chance in the world to confess but her tongue will not obey her brain. She’s just too nervous.

I am their teacher and it is my duty to protect them.” But then he sees someone he knows.

“Nodoka, thank goodness, at least I found you. Do you know where the others…”

“Negi-sensei, I love you,” says Nodoka with a loud voice. “I have liked you since the day we first met, I…I understand it’s troublesome for you, after all we’re teacher and student but I just wanted you to know how I feel. Haruna and Yue look at each other a few seconds. “You are really something Honya-chan, you know that?” says Yue.

“Was it only you who watched me or was Asuna and Setsuna there also? And what about Konoka?”
