Chap 8 Battle!
Ash rested up and got his Pokémon treated. Charmander was given the name Pyros.

Pyros got along well with all the others and he was welcomed as a part of the family. "Let's do our best today you ready Pyros?"
"Char Char!" Pyros cheered.
"You sure that is wise Ash?" Ash turned to see Brock. "I am no pushover you really want to enter an untrained Pokémon. This isn't just for a gym badge it's for the new Pokémon tech, this is serious."
"Oh I'm serious all right. I believe in all my Pokémon I made a promise to myself I'd believe in them with all my heart, If I couldn't trust my Pokémon I couldn't call myself a trainer it doesn't matter what anyone thinks we are gonna give it our all."
Ash's words hit Brock, and he reached into his pocket and touched a Pokeball. 'No matter what anyone else thinks…huh…'
"I'm looking forward to our match, get to the gym as soon as possible." Brock said and left the room. Ash registered his team and got his number for the gym battles. He had the 7th battle, Ash and his Pokémon didn't understand how Brock was gonna handle all these battles but he was looking forward to it. Ash and all his Pokémon came to the gym together. Pyros was surprised that Ash let him stay out of his ball.

At the gym the battle had already begun. Ash joined the crowd of trainers watching in the wings.
Brock was up against Gary first. Gary's Pokémon fought against Brock's team.

Gary managed to beat his Pokémon with his team.

Gary's team was able to win and got the Boulder Badge, and received the new tech; the storage watch. The storage watch allows you to store the pokeballs of an additional 6 Pokémon.
Brock shook Gary's hand and he showed off his badge and his watch to Ash. "Don't get cocky Gary I'll get my turn to." Ash thought Brock's Pokémon would be tired except the Pokémon official revealed a portable Pokémon healer, after placing the 6 pokeballs on the Pokémon healer all 6 of Brock's Pokémon.
Misty was next and after seeing Brock's Pokémon she thought she'd have an easy victory. However Misty's lack of training and skill had Brock winning with only 3 of his Pokémon. Ash and his Pokémon sweat dropped. 'That was lame.' Ash thought and his Pokémon thought the same.
Brock healed his Pokémon and fought two more trainers. Ash noticed each time Brock used Graveler he lost some of his passion, and it looked like Graveler didn't have as much of a connection as his other Pokémon did to him.
Next was Jessie her Pokémon tried their best but do to her inexperience with them she lost, her most powerful move had been Frustration. She lost and failed to get the badge or the new tech.
Number 6 was James. "Good luck James." Ash said with a smile giving him a thumbs up. James smiled and returned the gesture.
"And to you to Ash." James entered the arena. It was a fierce battle and thanks to his team James was able to win the match and get the badge and the tech. His Pokémon were healed and they cheered their victory. 'This is my shot and I'm not gonna pass it up.'
Finally it was Ash's turn.
Brock looked at Ash's Pokémon and began to calculate and evaluate the possibilities of Ash's battle. 'Don't disappoint me Ash.' Brock was in for a surprise.
'With this Pokémon, I'm sure he'll use Pichu.' Brock sent out Zubat.
"Bloom I choose you." Bulbasaur aka Bloom rushed out onto the field shocking everyone.
'Is he mocking me like that girl?' Brock thought.
Bloom

Razor Leaf

"Alright let's do this Bloom." Ash shouted. "Use Leach Seed." Bloom fired a seed from his bulb, it latched onto Zubat and vines coiled around him. Zubat was brought to the ground as his energy was zapped.
"Sorry Ash but you made the wrong choice. Zubat use Wing Attack." Zubat's wings glowed and were able to break free enough to launch an attack. Bloom dodged the attack.
"Now counter with Vine Whip." Bloom used it's vines to attack Zubat, and Leach Seed drained some of his life. "I had a plan for this Brock just you wait and see. Bloom return, Stinger go for it!" Bloom came back to Ash and Stinger came out to battle.
"Do not mock me Ash! Zubat use Wing Attack!" Again Zubat flew his wings glowing and struck Stinger. Stinger took the attack, and was healed by the effects of Leech Seed.

"Stinger use Poison Sting!" Stinger fired a barrage of purple needles that hit Zubat, although they didn't do a lot of damage Zubat became poisoned. Leach Seed and the status ailment took its toll on Zubat. "Now Fury Attack." Beedrill moved at great speed and began to attack Zubat with its stingers.
Zubat fainted. 'So he used the combination of leach seed and poison to drain Zubat's life, and using the normal attack was able to drop him down.'
Brock returned Zubat and sent out Sandshrew.
Ash brought Stinger back and called out Mizu. 'So he went with a type advantage this time I have ways of dealing with that.' Brock thought.
Mizu

"Sandshrew use Sand Storm!" Brock called, and Sandshrew summoned a fierce sand storm.
"Mizu jump and use Octazooka!" Ash called, and Mizu did, he fired his attack and hit Sandshrew dead on, the attack lowered his accuracy as well as did some serious damage. Mizu was buffered by the Sandstorm
Sandshrew tried to keep fighting but with his accuracy down he wasn't able to land any hits, but the sandstorm continued to cause damage. "Mizu wrap this up with Bubble Beam!" Ash's Horsea attacked with a fierce Bubble Beam and knocked Sandshrew out. Brock withdrew Sandshrew, and the Sandstorm subsided. "You did well Sandshrew have a good rest."
Ash hugged Horsea for the job well done. "I wouldn't celebrate yet Ash my next Pokémon may surprise you, go Vulpix!" Brock sent out the fire fox, and it cried out it's fur bristling and ready to battle.
"Mizu you think you can keep going." Ash asked, and the water type nodded and hopped back onto the field.
"This battle will be different Ash, but give it your best shot." Brock said, with a smirk.
"Alright Mizu hit him with your Water Gun!" Ash shouted, and the Horsea fired a blast of water from his mouth.
"Vulpix use Confusion!" Vulpix's eyes glowed and Horsea's water attack got taken over and was sent back at him, it hit Horsea and knocked him into a rock. Horsea became confused.
"A psychic type move!" Ash gasped, and clenched his fist. "That's gonna be tricky." Horsea began hurting itself in it's confusion. "Mizu return!" Ash called him back. "Thanks buddy go ahead and rest for now."
"Alright Pepper I choose you!" Ash's Flareon came out and blew flames from his mouth. "Flareon!"

"That's a powerful flame but it won't be enough to beat Vulpix!"
"We'll see, Pepper use Swift!" Pepper obeyed and sent a barrage of stars that struck Vulpix.
"Vulpix use Fire Spin!" Vulpix blew flames that formed a massive twister.
"Pepper run for the flames and use Headbut!" Flareon ran at Vulpix and dove through the flames, Brock was shocked as the flames were absorbed into Flareon's body and caused no damage. Flareon hit Vulpix and sent him flying.
Vulpix skidded to a halt and growled. "No more games Vulpix use Confusion!"
"Not this time Pepper use Dig." Flareon dove underground and dodged Vulpix's attack.
"Keep it up Vulpix, wait for them to strike and use your power." Brock called, but it was easier said than done. The ground beneath Vulpix's feet gave way and Flareon sprang up striking him hard. Vulpix was knocked out.
"Great job Pepper." Ash cheered.
"It's not over yet Diglett I choose you!" Brock brought out Diglett.
"Pepper return for now," Flareon came back to Ash.
'Is he going to use Bulbasaur or Beedrill again, or maybe Horsea, with half my Pokémon down I need to play this well.' Brock thought.
Everyone was shocked at how well Ash was doing, he so far had yet to lose a single Pokémon his strategy was great. The Pokémon official noticed both the bond and trust he had with his Pokémon.
"Alright Shocker, time to show them your stuff!" Everyone anime fell.
"You idiot don't use an electric type against a ground type." Gary shouted, and Ash just laughed.
"I got a plan don't worry." Ash said, and went back to the battle.
"I thought you had a solid strategy but this is just foolish I thought you had a bit more tact than this Ash." Brock said, "Diglett use Mud Slap!"
Diglett fired a splash of mud at Pichu, and he dodged. "Again!" The same attack was fired and once again Pichu dodged.

Diglett continued to fire attacks but Pichu continued to dodge each one. "Sorry Brock by my Pichu's got tons of speed and he's full of surprises, use Quick Attack Shocker!" Pichu dove and attacked Diglett again and again.
"Diglett finish him off with Earthquake!"
"I was waiting for that, Shocker jump into the air and use Thunderbolt on the ground!" The ground began to shake and break apart and Pichu jumped into the air and fired his thunderbolt, the lightning struck the earth and the two attacks collided.
When the dust cleared both Pokémon were okay. "I see Pichu used Thunderbolt to stay in the air until the attack wore off. A brilliant move and the fact the Pichu knows thunderbolt." The Pokémon official said.
"Now Shocker use Quick Attack!" Pichu rushed forward and struck Diglett and knocked him out. "You see Brock ground types were my biggest worry and your Sandshrew and Diglett were dangerous since their attacks can strip a Pokémon of their accuracy, so I had to match it with speed."
"I see, not a bad strategy, but play time is over Geodude go!" After returning Diglett, Brock sent out Geodude.
"Alright Shocker come back, it's time for our next step." Ash said, and Pichu came back. "Alright Bloom step up."
Bulbasaur came back out and was ready to battle. "Bloom use Vine Whip!" Bulbasaur attacked and his vines struck Geodude but it didn't seem to do much.
"Sorry but my Geodude was my starter Pokémon, it's grown to great strength and defense allow me to show you, Geodude Rock Throw!" Geodude threw rocks and Bulbasaur was hit and it was a critical hit.
"That's some power, but we wouldn't want it any other way, right Bloom?"
"Bulbasaur!" The grass and poison type cried happily, standing up.
"Show him your power again, use Rock Throw!"
"Counter with Razor Leaf!"
The leaves and rocks met and it was a draw, a sign of true power on Geodude's part.
"Okay let's try this again, use Vine Whip!" Bulbasaur fired his vines.
Geodude caught them and waited for the order. "Now Geodude Seismic Toss!" Geodude flipped Bulbasaur in the air using his vines and spun him round and round before slamming him down.
"Bloom!" Ash shouted, and Bulbasaur tried to stand up but was struggling he'd taken a lot of damage.
"Bulbasaur!" A bright light erupted from the grass Pokémon, and Bulbasaur evolved into Ivysaur!
Ivysaur aka Bloom

Razor Leaf
Mega Drain
"Amazing Bloom, you evolved and you gained some sweet moves, you rock Bloom!" Ash cheered and Ivysaur nodded his head. "Ok let's get back some health, use Mega Drain!" Ivysaur's vines reached out and took hold of Geodude and drained a good chunk of life and healed his wounds.
"Geodude use Take Down!" Geodude flew at Ivysaur, and that was just what Ash needed.
"Sleep Powder!" Ivysaur sprayed a cloud of blue powder and the rock type fell into a deep sleep.
"Oh no Geodude!"
"Now take him out Bloom use Razor Leaf!" With new found power Ivysaur attacked and the powerful Razor Leaf knocked Geodude out. Geodude was brought back and Brock hesitated.
'This kid is really something, his bond with his Pokémon is amazing the same bond I shared with you.' Brock thought, and caressed a Pokeball in his pocket. Brock looked up and saw his father watching, but then he remembered what Ash said and his resolve was found. 'I'd rather fight with all of my strength.'
"Okay Ash I'm fighting you with my full might, I choose you!" A Pokémon was called out but it wasn't Gravellier.
The Pokémon appeared to be of the Eevee family but it was a form no one had seen before. He was a tan color with a rock armor going from the helmet on his head, with his ears sticking out, going down his back and covering his tail, the armor coiled down and over the top of his legs.
Who's that Pokémon…
It's Stoneon "Stoneon!"
Brock's father was not happy. 'I can't believe he used that Pokémon after I forbade him.'
Ash aimed dexter at him but no data was found. "This is my Stoneon, he was the Eevee I got when I started my journey. Our bond was special and one day I gave him the hard stone to hold and after a battle I was shocked to see him evolve, I like so many thought he would have become Espeon or Umbreon but instead he became this new Eevee. He even gained a new move no other Pokémon learned, Hard Tackle!"
"Wow!" Ash said staring at the new Pokémon.
What fate does Ash have against this new Eevee find out next time…
