Chapter Eighty-One:
The Following Chapter Takes place right where the previous chapter left off.
Back in the warehouse, Crimson is seen dragging Josh's lifeless body with his tail and carrying Ashley bride style. He starts thinking to himself while carrying a bag around his shoulder.
Crimson: (Thinking) Why didn't I realize it sooner? (Looks at the unconscious Ashley) When Ashley kissed me all those years ago, I should've known that Ashley had the hots for me. And yet, my love for Shelley blinded me from seeing Ashley's feelings, because no other girl liked me before. What an idiot I was. I promise you, Ashley, when this is all over, I'll give you the attention that you desperately wanted from me.
Seven Years Ago:
Today was Brad's thirteenth birthday party, and Ashley, Shelley, and Crimson were there. They were all playing spin the bottle. Brad went first because he was the birthday boy, and it landed on Shelley. However, because he was inexperienced at the time, Brad just kissed Shelley on the cheek. Now it was Crimson turn to spin the bottle. Whoever the bottle landed on, Crimson would have to kiss that person.
Brad: Okay, Koan, now it's your turn.
Crimson: Okay. (Spins the bottle)
Then the bottle lands on Shelley, Koan blushes when he sees this, and Brad gives a smirk.
Brad: Why are you blushing Koan?
Crimson: I-Its nothing, just feeling a little hot.
Shelley: Wow, it must be my lucky day.
Crimson: (Smiles and blushes a little) It is?
Shelley: Well yeah, since the birthday boy has already kissed me.
Crimson: I see.
Crimson then kisses Shelley's cheek which Koan blushes a bit. Ashley pouted a little but not giving up as it was now Ashley's turn, she spins the bottle, and it landed on Koan which makes her super happy. Before Crimson could say anything, Ashley jumped on Crimson and gave him a big kiss on the lips. This surprised him, Shelley shows a hint of jealousy. Ashley breaks the kiss, and Crimson blushed hard.
Crimson: W-Wow...
Brad: Ashley, you didn't have to kiss him like that.
Ashley: Whoops, I just slipped. (Hidden smirk)
But wait a minute, Crimson was friends with Brad, Ashley, and Shelley before? How come they don't remember?
Present Day:
Back in the present, Crimson returns to Shelley and the others.
Crimson: I'm back, bitches!
Ethan: Oh, dear God!
Shelley: Oh God! Not Josh too! And... (Sees Crimson carrying Ashley) Ashley too?!
Ethan: What has Ashley ever done to you?!
Howard: Ashley wouldn't hurt a fly!
Crimson then gently places Ashley down on the floor, then he pulls out a crowbar from his bag and starts beating Howard and Ethan with it, smashing them in the face stomach, making them scream in pain. Shelley had no choice but to watch in horror at the brutal beatdown.
Crimson: Mind your damn business! Let's just say Ashley has been waiting so desperately for me, and I'm glad I'm back for it.
Ethan and Howard whimper more not saying a word
Crimson: And oh, I brought your boss for this party started.
Ethan: Oh God, not Josh too!
Crimson: Oh yes, Josh too. And I have something special planned for dear old Josh. Now it's going to take a few hours for Ashley to wake up, I can easily wake Josh up no problem.
Crimson began to strip Josh out of his clothes and made him wear nothing but his boxers. Then with his bag, he took out handcuffs and a knife. Then he took out a free chair and cut a huge hole around the center of the sitting part. Then he picked Josh up, put the handcuffs on his hand behind him, picked him up, and had him sit on the chair. After that, he slaps Josh awake.
Josh: Huh? What's going on?
Crimson: (Grin wider and laughs crazy) Ah, Joshy boy, the last one, I've been waiting a long time for this, you and your two sidekicks.
Josh: What?! What are you talking about? (Turns his head) Howard, Edward, and Shelley?! What the hell is going on? AND WHY AM I NAKED?!
Crimson: This is why?
Using a rope, he swang it to hit his balls, making him scream in pain.
Crimson: Oh you'll don't know, tell me, does Koan Serinuyami ring a bell? (This makes everyone go silent) Oh yeah, and also Shelley, (He turned to her and walks to her) you were cold to think that the person you know well will be horrible and broke his heart, and never bothered to come to his funeral.
Shelley: HOW THE HELL DO YOU KNOW THAT?!
Crimson: SHUT UP!
This makes Shelley frighten in fear see his yellow pupil now become small red rings.
Crimson: YOU SHOULD KNOW BECAUSE HE WAS CLOSE TO YOU! AND WHAT YOU DO?! YOU HURT HIM AT YOUR BIRTHDAY!
Shelley: I... I was angry... (Whimpering )
Crimson: And you didn't bother feeling for him, and you target Brad as your punching bag.
She looks down in guilt, then Crimson faced the group face to face.
Josh: How you know him?!
Ethan: Even us
Howard: We don't know you!
Josh: So, what is this all about?! Why'd you kidnapped us?!
Crimson: (Hits him in the face with a crowbar) SHUT UP! (He then starts beating him with the crowbar) YOU! (Hits him with the crowbar) RUINED! (Hits him with the crowbar) EVERYTHING! (Hits him with the crowbar, Crimson then takes out a long robe with a huge knot at the end of it and starts to swing it to round up) I've been waiting for a long time for this!
Crimson then uses the robe to hit Josh on the balls, making Josh scream in pain.
Howard: Dude, what is your problem.
Crimson: This!
Crimson then uses his tail to grab Howard by the neck, left him up and began to punch him in the gut repeatedly making to cough up a lot of blood. Shelley felt fear and the torment that Crimson was doing to Howard.
Crimson: (Turns to Ethann) You're next, busboy!
Ethan: No, please!
Crimson: Too late!
Crimson then turns his arms into blood-stained blades and stabs Ethan in the shoulders, and Ethan screams in agony. Then Crimson starts slashing him so much and even stomping on his chest and his nuts, making him scream more, then Crimson made two duplicates of himself to torment Ethan and Howard while the real Crimson torment Josh with the most in pain.
Howard: Why are you doing this?!
Crimson: WHY?! BECAUSE YOU THREE BASTARDS RUINED MY LIFE! THAT'S WHY!
Josh: What did we ever do to you?
Edward: Yeah, we don't even know you!
Howard: This is the first time we've met you!
Shelley: And how do you know what happened five years ago?
Josh: Why'd you kidnapped us?! What did we do to you that made you hate us so much?!
Crimson: Why you ask? Like I said. I know because I was there, I know because of what you, Ethan and Howard did, and you are the bane of my existence! You probably don't know me or recognize me because I'm in this form. Perhaps this will shine some light in your memory!
Next thing they know, a burst of light came out of Crimson, making them close their eyes, and when the light died down, and when they opened their eyes, they see that Crimson is no longer has an alien demonic like appearance anymore, he was now in the form of an earthling. He had milk skin, but not too pale as light peach, he had yellow eyes, dark crimson messy spiky hair, a bit long beneath his neck. His face is angular, which would make any girl have the hots for him, he had two sets of teeth fangs and possessed a wonderful smile of an angel or a great, nice guy or a fearless and fearsome person. One set looks like a normal human's teeth, while the other is retractable shark teeth. As for his clothes, black pants, a red belt with a yellow buckle around it. An orange straitjacket which the long sleeve been torn out to make it look like an actual T-shirt, a dark gray vest with the collar up, black fingerless leather gloves with a red spike on it. His shoes were black on the bottom and yellow on the top, along with dark red lines, and lastly, he was wearing a red fur frame on his back as if it were a cape. His voice also no longer sounded like Crimson anymore. Instead, his voice sounded like a young adult male.
?: How about now?
Shelley: Its... (Starts tearing up)
Josh: No way...
Ethan: Oh, my God...
Howard: H-He's alive...
?: (Grins wider) Miss me?
Back at Rosaira's place, Brad was trying to figure out Crimson's Riddles. He was even listening to the recorded voice of Crimson while listening to his riddles.
The Voice Of Crimson Darkness's From Brad's phone: Here's the first riddle, one cat who felt alone and treat and a group of lowly dogs always picked on until there two people. One who felt like a brother and others felt like love to the cat's eye, they help and give him felt like a joy to the lonely cat.
Brad: Okay, he's talking about how this dog and cat first met, and then there is this other dog who was like a brother to the lowly dog. But how does that fit in on Crimson's agenda?
Brad closes his eyes and tries to figure out the riddle. As he does that, a flashback begins to creep upon him.
Brad's Flashback:
Ten Years Ago:
In the streets of Christale City, a nine-year-old Brad, and an eight-year-old Ashley were making their way home from the market, as they were holding bags of food.
Brad: Do you think we have everything that mom needs Ashley?
Ashley: I think so. (Checks the begs)
?: Stay back, all of you!
Both Brad and Ashley turn their heads to see a ten-year-old Shelley at a nearby park surrounded by a bunch of boy teenagers while holding a stick while also defending a boy who was nine years old. The nine-year-old boy had orange hair and blue eyes, He also had fair skin and was wearing glasses, but his glasses were cracked. There seemed to be about ten teenage boys around Shelley and the boy.
Shelley: I'm warning you, back off, or else!
Teen Boy #1: Please, what are you going to do to us, little girl?
Teen Boy #2: Yeah, all you got is a stick!
Shelley: I'll shove this stick up your ass, that's what I'll do! (This makes the teen boys laugh)
Ashley: It looks like that girl and boy needs our help.
Brad: Yeah, let's go.
Brad and Ashley place down their begs and run towards Shelley's aid.
Brad: Hey... Why don't you pick on someone else who's not a cute girl (Looks at his sister helping Shelley and the boy escape)
Teen Boy #3: Huh? Who the hell do you think you little brat?
Brad: Someone who doesn't like bullies!
Brad then dashes towards Teen boy #3 in the stomach and kicks the other two, the other seven teenage boys then run towards Brad. Brad starts beaten them up as his breathing was in then out and looks over to sees his little sister, girl and boy were safe, then teen boy #7 suddenly punched Brad in the face while he wasn't looking. However, the punch did nothing to Brad, and the boy who punched Brad ended up breaking his hand.
Teen Boy #7: (Screams in pain) WHAT IS YOUR FACE MADE OUT OF, PURE METAL?!
Brad: Would you like to know... Private shot (Punches one of them in the nuts as he screams and falls down)
Teen Boy #1: Come on, guys, let's get out of here! (All the teen boys make a run for it)
Brad: At least that's over with. (Walks over and asks everyone with a friendly tone) Is everyone alright?
Shelley: Yeah, we're fine, thanks for helping us, but I got to ask, who are you two?
Brad: My name is Brad, and this is my little sister, Ashley (Smiling at the girl and boy)
Shelley: I'm Shelly, and this here is Koan.
Koan: Um... Hi... (Takes off his broken glasses) Aw man, they broke my glasses.
Shelley: Don't worry Koan, we'll get you a new pair, in fact, I'll even get those bullies to pay for your glasses.
Little did Shelley and Koan know, Ashley couldn't stop blushing as she was looking at Koan, as she thought that Koan looked cute without his glasses.
Brad: (Notices that Ashley's face is bright red) Hey Ashley, something wrong?
Ashley: No, nothing is wrong.
Brad: Oh okay, so why did those boys attack you?
Shelley: I have no idea but thank you for saving us again (Starts blushing a little of seeing how handsome Brad is)
Present Day:
Brad quickly opens his eyes after having the flashback. He then has his phone to play the riddle again.
The Voice Of Crimson Darkness From Brad's phone: Here's the first riddle, one cat who felt alone and treat and a group of lowly dogs always picked on until there two people. One who felt like a brother and others felt like love to the cat's eye, they help and give him felt like a joy to the lonely cat.
The more he thought about it, the more he thought that the riddle and the day he met Koan and Shelley had something, it felt like a click. But soon Brad just shook it off as he thought that it was just a coincidence. He then starts playing the second riddle from his phone.
The Voice Of Crimson Darkness From Brad's phone: The two kinds of better than three musketeers, the duo have been close like a brother they both never have, even there heart fall for the two-person they waited when to confess.
Brad: Okay, so, according to this riddle, these two friends were like the three musketeers, as close as brothers. And they both had a crush on two girls. (Thinks about it, then comes to the shocking conclusion) No, he doesn't mean...
Just then, Brad remembered about Hannah and Shelley, Brad had a crush on Hannah while Koan had a crush on Shelley. The more Brad thought about it, the more he began to figure out how Crimson's riddles and Koan were starting to link up. The more Brad thought about it, the more he remembered how he and Koan were close as brothers and how they both had a certain girl that they had a crush on. He quickly has his phone to play the final riddle.
The Voice Of Crimson Darkness From Brad's phone: A low life flea-bitten dog of trash who did horrible to a cat and the first love eye, such as his bite the cat's back without no one notice. Then the dog barks the cat to the female cat by a setup, which she turns the cute cat to a cruel, aggressive tiger as she sees the cat nothing then a scum, all thanks to the lowly dog who got away for this a long time. That's it for now. Think about the riddles really good, and when you figure them out, let me know. Until then, goodbye for now.
There was no denying it, that riddle was focusing on Shelley's sweet sixteen birthday party. It was the day that Koan died, and the day that Shelley became the cold-hearted bitch that everyone knows her now. But something didn't sit well with Brad, and that was how does Crimson know who Koan is? Those two never met before. Then it hit him, what if Crimson is... No, that's ridiculous, Koan is dead, Brad was at his funeral, but the more he thought about it, he remembered that the casket for the funeral was closed, so he was unable to see a body. And the more he thought about it, he remembered that there was only one casket for the funeral. Why would they have one casket for the funeral when there were two other people that died with him, which were his parents. But either way, there was no way that Koan can be Crimson because you can't rise from the dead. But the riddles, all of Crimson's riddles were focusing on Koan and their relationship. It was then Brad made up his mind, he had to make sure, he had to make sure that Koan really was dead. He had to make sure, or else he would go insane if he didn't know. He gathered up his things and was about to walk out the door.
Brad: Scarlet, I'm heading out, I'll be back in a few hours.
Scarlet: Okay, don't be out too long, Crimson is still out there.
Brad: I know. (Closed the door on his way out the building)
After a few minutes of flying, Brad arrived at the Living's place, he knocked on the door, and a few minutes later, Chief Johnathon Livings answered.
Johnathon: Oh, Brad. What a surprise to see you. I haven't seen you in this house for the last five years.
Brad: Yeah, it feels weird to be back here again. Listen, we need to talk.
Johnathon: Oh, okay, come on in. (Let's Brad into the living room and sit down) So, how can I help you?
Brad: Do you remember a boy named Koan Seinaruyami?
Johnathon: Koan Seinaruyami? Wow. Now that's a name I haven't heard of in a long time. I didn't know Koan himself personally, but I did know his father, Ken Seinaruyami. We were good friends until his untimely death. The whole town was shocked when they found out that he and his family were killed.
Brad: That's why I came here. Do you know how they died?
Johnathon: (He sighs) Well, the police said that a loose wire from their house caught on fire, which made the house to explode. But, they only said that to cover up what really happened.
Brad: (Shocked) What?! The whole story of a loose wire was just a cover-up? How did they really die?!
Johnathon: (He sighs) I guess you're old enough to understand. Put it simply, they were murdered.
Brad: (Shocked) Murdered?!
Johnathon: Yes. Five years ago, someone broke into their house and stabbed them and shot them to death. Next, they placed a bomb to destroy the house to cover up their tracks.
Brad: Why? Why did they kill them?
Johnathon: That I don't know. We have no idea who killed them or what their motives were. For all we know, it could've been a deranged mad man. Or maybe it was a hitman who was hired to kill them. We don't know, we have no clues, no leads, nothing. The whole case is one big guessing game at this point. Whoever did kill them, was a professional.
Brad: The more I think about it, at the funeral, I remember that it was a closed casket funeral. How come we weren't allowed to see their bodies?
Johnathon: That's because their bodies were unrecoverable.
Brad: (Shocked) What?!
Johnathon: Yes, after the Seinaruyami house exploded, we searched for survivors. We found Koan's parents, but we couldn't find Koan's body. Sadly, his parents' bodies burnt to ashes when we tried to recover them. That's why the funeral was a closed casket. Because we couldn't find Koan's body, we all assumed that his body perished due to the flames along with his parents. So to compensate this, we put pictures of the family to make up the lack of bodies inside the caskets. (He sighs) And to think, this whole thing happened on Shelley's sixteenth birthday party. Just when things couldn't get any worst for Koan, he and his parents get murdered.
Brad: You were there?! What happened at her birthday party?
Johnathon: I thought she already told you.
Brad: Only in her point of view, but since you saw what happened, I need you to tell me!
Johnathon: (He sighs) Poor Koan. He never knew what was going to happen to him. In the party, it was time to give gifts to Shelley, Koan was about to give his present to her, but what Koan didn't know was that Josh sneaked up behind him and pushed him towards her, making him have his hands on her breasts. She thought he was trying to rape her, so she kicked him in the balls, and told everyone to leave soon after.
Brad: You knew this whole time, and you didn't bother to tell me?! I could've told Shelley and convinced her that it wasn't Koan's fault!
Johnathon: If her own father couldn't convince her to see the truth, what makes you think you'll do any better?
Brad: Okay, point taken, where is Shelley by the way?
Johnathon: That I don't know. She should've been back home about an hour ago. Maybe she's running late.
That's when Brad realized that Crimson might have Shelley, along with Josh.
Brad: Okay, thank you. (He runs out of the house, takes out his phone and calls Shelley) Come on, Shelley, pick up.
Shelley: (Answers the phone) Hello?
Brad: Shelley? Oh thank God, listen to me, you need to get home as soon as possible, I think Koan is alive and might be after you!
Crimson: Shelley isn't available at the moment, may I leave her a message?
Brad: (Brad's face turns pale) Where is she?!
Crimson: You want to know? Meet me at Christale Park in one hour, there we will finish this once and for all. (Hangs up)
Hearing from what Crimson said, he ran to the park.
