Shiro Ryu: Hey thanks for reading. I just got a strange idea one night and thought, why not make Kaoru a flirt or something. She’s pretty straightforward. Yeah not about that stuff, but hey I thought it would be an interesting aspect to the story. Well the little thing with Aoshi be possessive, comes a little from what I would like. I’ve read a couple stories where Aoshi and Misao got caught and Aoshi just goes back to his usual face and all, and Misao stands in her glory, and well I just can’t stand it lol. I’m a weird person, but ahh well. Thanks again for reviewing, and your reviews always seem top. p. Thanks for reading and reviewing.
SosorYeahYeah I got a flame and all. My ideas left and I couldn’t write. So that wasn’t the best chapter I have ever produced, in fact I actually scraped the first make of the chapter, cause it was turning out to be real corny *shudders*. Lol Thanks for reading and reviewing. Thanks again for all you’ve helped me with.

Polaris-fire-star: I just end where I think is a good p, if, if it’s a cliffy it’s a cliffy. Yes I need to get a chapter out for Valentine Meetings. That’s a story I work on well whenever I can get a chance, I haven’t had any ideas as of late for it and my other stories come before that one. I think I wrote that in a note, if not oh well. I haven’t had any ideas for that one lately, but I plan on working on it shortly.
Stitch My Mouth: That’s an interesting name, nothing bad meant. If it had been a flame that just said that sucked, I wouldn’t have had to worry, but it wasn’t. I got accused of plagiarism. Also I would like to point out something I wrote in an author not on the last chapter. I really don’t recommend me writing when all my ideas are gone. Then the chapters come out horrible, and if you want me to write crap by all means I can. Then I would get flames saying it sucks and stuff. I wouldn’t really advise it though, because its realllllllly bad. So when I say I can’t write I can’t write, for that reason. Anyway thanks for reading and reviewing. I would also so like to say that your review made me laugh and also got my butt in gear to write this chapter so I do hope you like this.
Bloodbreath: Umm...........What the hell kind of review is that? You might want to die, but I’ll tell you something I don’t wish to and getting stuff like that pisses me off, so pleas refrain from putting reviews up like that on my story.
Mari: I’m kind of wondering how many please you wrote loll. I got one on a story on mediaminer with I swear a thousand updates written. Thanks and I will keep the story going, but it’ll be a little slower than usual. Thanks for reading and reviewing.
LSR-7 and Shin: You will both fout out why I had him pull the knife out in this chapter. I always lean toward the real effect in my chapters, this time I wanted to do a little inspiration thing to make the story a little more interesting. I sure hope you guys like this chapter. I though about leaving the knife in and then got a strange idea so we’ll see where it leads. Thanks again for trying to help me and all. I appreciate it, though an idea is an idea right. *Smiles* Thanks for reading and reviewing.
Thanks to all the other the other reviewers. I appreciate most of them. I got another flame lol this one is just plain stupid, and well go look if you’d like. All the other reviewers I really hope you like this chapter and well Thanks for all the encouragement I received with my little idea loss and all.
Aoshi took Misao’s hand in his. “I’m sorry Misao, I should have said no.”
“Then we wouldn’t have had a great time last night.” Misao whispered with a horse voice.
“Misao,” Aoshi looked down at her, with the urge to hug her, but held back.
“No how am I feeling?” Misao laughed and coughed.
“You should stay silent.” Aoshi sighed, letting Misao’s hand go to grab a chair. “You’ve...” Aoshi trailed off.
“...Been poisoned.” Misao finished. Aoshi lifted his head and turned to look at her.
“That’s the only reason you pulled the knife out when you did, otherwise you would have left it in, so I wouldn’t lose too much blood.” Misao coughed a little. “They should find the poison in the blood after the tests are done.”
“How did you...?”
“The guy told me, before he got off me. He said I wouldn’t live, but you got to me quickly and...” Misao coughed a little more. “...What I don’t know is how much will it effect me?”
*“If it’s the poison I think it is, you didn’t have the blade in you long enough for a lethal dose so, you’ll live but any other side effects I’m not sure of. * I was not sure at the scene, I pulled the knife out just incase.”
*This is fiction after all, lol. So my little thoughts make it interesting, weather it be real or not. *
Misao smiled warmly at Aoshi. “You know, even being poisoned, I’m still happy.”
Aoshi brought the chair over and sat down. He picked Misao’s hand up once more. “What could you be happy about after all this?”
“I got to spend time with you...” Misao coughed a little. “...” Aoshd hid his head down and waited for her to finish. He lifted his head up and his eyes widened. He saw the smile slowly fade from her face.
“MISAO, MISAOOOOO!” Aoshi called, and slightly shook her. Her eyes blinked open. She smiled once more weekly and it faded as her eyes closed. Aoshi hit the nurse call button, almost breaking it.
A Nurse sprinted into the room, “What’s wrong?” The nurses asked, looking irritated.
“She...” Aoshi was cut off as the doctor shuffled into the room with another couple of nurses.
Aoshi stared at them; all sound seemed to be lost as Aoshi looked to Misao and the grim look on the doctor’s face. The doctor turning to him, broke the silence, “...needs to be checked. Aoshi shook his head.
“What?”
“She neto hto have more tests done, and her organs need to be checked. To see if there is any long term damage.” The doctor’s piercing eyes met Aoshi’s. “Did you know she’d been poisoned?”
“Yes, I wasn’t sure if she’d been poisoned or not, not until I actually got in here and was able to look at her. I don’t know the name of the poison or what harmful effects it can have, I do know however you have to have a certain amount in order to die from it. I’m not sure how much poison was entered into her blood stream either.” Aoshi finished, his cold facial feature, showing none of the turmoil he felt inside.
“Thank you, we must ask you to leave the room now.” Aoshi was ushered out of the room and went back to the waiting area. His head held down, ‘I have to get Kaoru and Kenshin to a safe place, and return to the scene and get things figured out.’ His eyes were as cold as ever, and his face was emotionless the mask he was use to using, was starting to crumble.
Aoshi approached Kaoru and Kenshin, “We have to get you somewhere safe.”
“How’s Misao?” Kaoru questioned.
“We have no time for this, lets get moving I have thing I need to do, and you are top priority. Misao was hurt, and I know that, but the case comes before her life.” Kaoru huffed and bought her hand back to slap him. “Lets move or you’ll be injured, NOW!” Aoshi raised his voice.” Kaoru stood motionless as he walked toward the exit.
“Kaoru we have to go, I understand how you feel, but hey were hired to guard you, please listen.” Kaoru nodded and dropped her hand. They followed Aoshi, as an unmarked police vehicle pulled up.
“...Yes we need to get them to a safe place, and I must return to the crime scene and investigate. We’ll need someone to watch over them in my absence.”
“What about your partner?”
“She was and and and may not be returning to the force, anytime soon.” Aoshi replied coldly.” Aoshi motioned for Kaoru and Kenshin to gn. n. “We’ll drop them off first, lets radio the dispatch and get a couple officers from head quarters.” The driver of the vehicle nodded, and pulled into the street.

Aoshi glanced around the room. The knife was safely put into a plastic bag, as were a couple other items. “Is that all the evidence you were able to find?” Aoshi questioned in a serious tone. Thoughts of the previous night were filling his brain. “I love you,” Misao’s words repeated over and over. Images flashed as he shook his head.
“Shinomori.” Aoshi looked at the figure that called him. “Yes Captain Saitou.”
“What happened, I heard something from the chief of you operation, but he didn’t know any details as of yet. Care to explain why?”
“Misao was injured, and I got...”
“It doesn’t matter if you partner is injured. You are to report in immediately.”
Aoshi sighed, “Yes Captain.” Aoshi stated flatly.
“Tone, officer Shinomori.” Golden eyes, met ice blue eyes.
“I am not under your division, if it weren’t for the case coming from you I wouldn’t have to say one word.” Aoshi replied flatly once again.
“Officer Shinomori, you want to keep...”
“It’ll ta loa lot more than you to have me fired, good day Captain Saitou.” Aoshi returned to talking to the scientists.
Saitou’s eyes gleamed a golden hue as he talked to other officers, and some scientist as well.

“It’s a rare type of poison, none of the organs or anything are hurt, unless you receive a lethal dosage. There was barley enough on here to hurt a dog, let alone a person. Unfortunately while none of the vital organs are damaged, in can however have a slight effect on the brain. In some cases people are unable to remember anything from the last week. They remember stuff before a week prior, but anything done, learned or whatever else, is lost. It can return, its sort of like amnesia. With the dosage on here, it looks like it could effect the brain more powerfully, while not a lethal dosage, its still could render her memory of the last few months gone.”
“So your saying Misao, when she wakes from the coma, might not remember the last two months.”
“Yes. Little things can trigger slight memories, but she may never gain those memories back, it all depends on her.” The scientists nodded and then continued to check other things from the crime scene.
Aoshi shook his head, “If that happens, they won’t be able to take her off the force.”
__________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Aoshi arrived at the place where Kaoru and Kenshin were, and approached them. “It seems I may be the only one working with you from now on.”
Kaoru looked at Aoshi, “Misao didn’t di...”
“No she didn’t die, she’s been poisoned. The effects of the poison, though not deadly, might make her lose her memory. If that happens it could be two or three months.”
“Oh no.” Kaoru whispered. She turned to Kenshin, “Okay I want the truth out with it Kenshin, why do I need body guards. I understand that you want me safe, but something else has to be going on for them to be cops from a local police station and.”
.”
“Kaoru it seems a local crime syndicate wants your money and power. They will do anything to get that power but in order to gain that you must be alive. If you die, all the money raised, goes to me, as your husband or your child. That’s the way the money is setup, in case of that.”
“How did you find all this out?”
“I had an undercover cop tell me what was going on with that certain syndicate. The company I run has been having problems with them. Each time we bust a person some evidence comes up missing or they buy their way out or something else. Either of those ways they get free. When our wedding was announced I had a cop go undercover in the syndicate. They must have got some of your parent’s history what happens to the money and all. Since then I have been getting threatening letters and also a few attempts at them trying to capture you. You have had a bodyguard following you around unknowingly, when you are away from me.” Kenshin waited for Kaoru to get angry, when she didn’t he looked her in the eyes.
“I’ve known that.” Kaoru stated flatly. “I have skills in fight, just as you and Aoshi do. I can tell when I’m being followed.
“Well they seem to be after you, we’ve gathered that much. Now we know they’re after your money. The only way to get that would be have you lose you memory, except the poison they hit Misao with, will only make her lose her memory from a couple moths ago.” Aoshi mused aloud. “So the question is how long have you know Kenshin?”
“We were dating for about 6 months then he asked me to marry him, and we waited another six months before we were married. Before we were dating we had known each other for a couple years.
“They would have to block your memory for at least six months, and if Kenshin proposed again, you would probably say yes right?”
“I guess, why all these questions?” Kaoru asked. “I would rather worry about Misao, then be questioned.” Kaoru snapped angrily.
“Worrying abousao sao isn’t going to solve this case now is it. Even if she does recover with her memory in tacked, she won’t be working on this case again. In fact she will most likely be off the force. Aoshi bit coldly.
“Why?” Kenshin and Kaoru asked at the same time.”
Aoshi took a deep breath, “Because she’s had a couple run in’s with bad people. Misao’s always, been one for taking chances. She’s been injured in the line of duty on at least 10 cases in the last year. It’s been 2 months since she was last injured. The chief stated if she was injured once more, for whatever reason. She could be taken off the force.” Aoshi stared at the floor.
“Isn’t getting injured part of the job sometimes?”
“Yes it is, but she’s gone out of the way to capture suspects. She rushed in on the last one, not waiting for me. She ended up spraining her ankle. When were on an assignment together we’re a great team. No one’s been injured when we’ve been together, only when were separated. She always rushes in.”
“Hmm, sounds like she’s a little head strong.” Kenshin murmured.
Aoshi nodded, and stood. “We’ll move to another location tomorrow to keep you safe.” Aoshi walked to the door. “I’ll keep a look out for a while, I’ll be replaced later. I’ll also be here around 10 tomorrow, so we can leave. I will have to report everything.” Aoshi opened the door and walked into the hallway closing the door behind him. He leaned against the door and sighed.
Thoughts flooded his mind as the events from the previous night one again flooded his thoughts. ‘Why do you always have to get hurt?’s has hands went into fists as he straightened up and started his job. His eyes scanned the small hallway as one thought ran through his mind. ‘They will pay.’
Yeah I made him a little out of character, but oh well hehe. It’s my story and all. I try to keep him in character as much as I can. I couldn’t for the life of me come up with a better sentence at the end. I tried I did. I also know this is short and all, but I don’t have any more I can write for the chapter. However you shoull bll be happy about the next chapter, well somewhat.
Again my story, my strange ideas lol. Well I do hope you like it and the next chapter should be out soon I hope. Off to work on well another story haha, I need to put chapters on all my stories. Wahhhhhhhhhhhh way too many, ahhh well I’ll live yay. Please review and please NO FLAMES
