Chapter 9 - Wedding Bells
The Wedding– Hyoga 22, Shun 21 (December) (2 months
after proposal)
“Hyoga, stop fidgeting with it.” Shiryu
smacked at Hyoga’s wandering hand, which had been pulling at the end of his
sleeve for almost an hour. “But it’s bugging me.” Shiryu sighed and looked to
Seiya for help. The two Saints had been trying to help Hyoga get ready for the
wedding, but he turned out to be way more fussy than they could have ever
imagined.
“It
is fine, you’re just nervous.” Seiya tugged
on the sleeve, showing Hyoga it was the right length and looked perfectly
normal. He had spent the last ten minutes absolutely convinced that one sleeve
was shorter than the other. “How’s Shun?” Hyoga asked, trying to distract
himself from the nagging sleeve.
“I’ll go check, but I’m sure he’s fine since
he’s with Ikki.” Seiya left Shiryu and Hyoga alone. So far, Shiryu was the
only one of them married, having tied the knot to Shunrei a couple of years
back. Seiya and Miho would probably get married, but so far there had been no
formal engagement between them, even though they lived together.
“Once you see Shun at the altar, all your
worries will fade away like they never existed, trust me.” Shiryu handed Hyoga
a hairbrush. “Really? I’m just so nervous. Were you this nervous when you
married Shunrei?” Hyoga asked. “Yes, but mine was even worse since I had to
consummate the marriage for the first time.” Shiryu blushed and Hyoga stared at
him in wonder. “You mean, you and Shunrei waited until you were married?”
“Yes. And let me tell you, I was a nervous
wreck on our wedding night.” Shiryu chuckled, remembering the event. “Wow, I
couldn’t imagine having to worry about that today as well. It was stressful
enough for us to have sex in the first place.” Hyoga felt better, knowing that
Shiryu had gone through the wedding jitters too.
“Mind if I ask something?” Shiryu inquired,
adjusting his own tuxedo. “Sure.” Hyoga put some gel in his hair, trying to
get it to stay in place. “When you guys have sex…who is…you know…on top?”
Shiryu and the others had been dying to ask, but felt it was too personal.
Hyoga laughed, amused by the question he knew
they all wanted to know. “I’m the more masculine one, if that is what you
mean. I’m you and Shun is Shunrei, if that clarifies it.” Hyoga’s grin was
contagious and Shiryu smiled as well. “That’s what I figured. Do you ever
switch?”
“Not really. I’ve offered, but he prefers it
this way. What about you? Can you have sex when Shunrei is pregnant?” Hyoga
threw the question out there, another they were all wondering but never dared to
ask. “Oh, yes we can. In fact, the doctor recommended it. But once she has
the baby, then we have to wait awhile for her to heal and recover. It’s getting
harder as she gets bigger, we can’t do our favorite position anymore with her
tummy in the way.” Shiryu blushed when he realized he may have told Hyoga too
much information.
“And what position would that be?” Hyoga
smirked, picking on his reserved friend. “Uh…the one where she lays on her
stomach.” Hyoga quirked an eyebrow. “Really? That’s our favorite position
too.” Hyoga smacked Shiryu on the arm in a chummy manner then went back to
fiddling with his hair.
Seiya came back in the room with Miho. “He’s
doing fine, he’s almost ready. Ikki and him were talking, so I just poked in
real quick then left.” Seiya sat down in one of the dressing room chairs, Miho
following and sitting on his knees. “When are you two going to get married?”
Hyoga asked, directing his question more at Miho than Seiya.
“That’s what I would like to know.” Miho
teased, bouncing on Seiya’s lap. “One wedding at a time people!” Seiya joked
and they all laughed. “It will happen, have no fears.” Seiya continued,
kissing Miho’s cheek. “Well that’s good, because I want lots of babies right
away!” Miho teased again and Seiya groaned playfully. “We can practice tonight
if you want.” They cuddled into each other while Shiryu and Hyoga moaned at
their open display of affection.
“It’s almost time, let’s get going.” Shiryu
looked at his watch and pulled the group together. Hyoga took a quick once over
of himself in the mirror and followed his friends into the hall. They were
getting married at the mansion, outside in one of the beautifully landscaped
gardens. Since they only invited their closest friends, the guest list stood at
about twenty-five. Some of those guests were Gold Saints who volunteered to be
guards since the South American Saints had been randomly attacking them, trying
to get their hands on Shun.
It had only taken two months to throw the
wedding together and they felt no need to wait. Shun had remained in good
health, but they continued running tests on him after hearing about the
transformative abilities of the venom that infected him. The Bronze Saints all
wore tuxedos, their cloths nearby in case of an emergency while the Gold Saints
all wore their gold armor.
Milo and Shaka stood by the entrance while Mu
hovered around the altar, ready to use his Crystal Wall protection shield for
Shun. Kanon and Aiolia swept through the estate grounds, scoping for trouble.
Aldebaran guarded Saori, hovering next to her as her personal bodyguard so the
Bronze Saints could focus on the wedding.
Dohko, Sion and Kiki were at the back entrance
to the mansion grounds. At 16, Kiki was not yet a Gold Saint, but had developed
many strong fighting techniques and was always useful when fighting battles.
Aphrodite, Deathmask, Saga and Shura had remained in Sanctuary to protect it
under Athena’s orders. They were all one hundred percent loyal, especially
after the tolling battle with Hades when they all lost their lives for the
cause. They were all granted life, reborn like the immortal Phoenix to be
Saints of Athena.
Seiya and Shiryu were groomsmen and in charge
of keeping everything running on time. Ikki was giving Shun away then taking
his place as Shun’s best man. Hyoga had called upon his mentor. Camus would
give Hyoga away, honored to be both his guardian and best man. Camus was the
only Gold Saint attending the wedding that was not in his gold cloth,
extraordinarily dashing in his black formal attire.
Seiya and Shiryu took their places on either
side of the altar, Shiryu on Shun’s side, Seiya on Hyoga’s. Since they were
both males, they had to forego the bridal walk down the aisle. Instead, Camus
and Hyoga would come in together first, taking their positions. Then, Ikki
would bring Shun in, offering him to Hyoga. The whole affair definitely made
Shun play the female role, but he did not seem to mind.
The weather was chilly as it was early
December, but everyone dressed appropriately and with all the Saints around,
someone could flare their heated cosmos if need be. Hyoga glanced at Mu who
stood nearby, sharing a smile with him, thankful for all the protection on their
wedding day.
Hyoga noticed his palms were sweating as he
anticipated the next few moments of his life, he was going to marry Shun. Saori
entered first, taking her place at the head of the altar, being the one to
perform the ceremony as their Goddess Athena. As soon as she was settled, the
background string music shifted into a traditional Japanese song of love, cueing
Shun’s entrance.
Everyone turned around to watch him and Ikki
enter the garden. Hyoga’s knees almost gave way as he saw his true love
radiating a beautiful aura of happiness and joy. Shun was absolutely beaming.
Their eyes locked and they held each other’s gaze as Shun stepped up next to
Hyoga. Ikki bowed to Hyoga, offering Shun and Hyoga bowed back.
Ikki was teary as the ceremony began, wiping
the dewy mist off his lashes. Camus had a look of pride and contentment, happy
to see his pupil finding love. Hyoga and Shun held hands throughout the event,
sharing their matching rings and a quick, yet passionate, kiss as they were
finishing.
Turning to face their attending loved ones,
they were announced as a united couple as seen in the eyes of their goddess,
friends and family. Just as they were about to make their way back down the
center aisle, a loud, thundering sound interrupted the peaceful afternoon.
“Mu!” Ikki called out to the Gold Saint as
they both rushed over to protect Shun. Hyoga and Camus nodded at each other and
rushed off to find their cloths while Aldebaran made his way to Saori, guarding
her.
“What’s going on?” Shun asked his brother as
everyone ran off in different directions. “I’m not sure Shun, but don’t worry,
you’re safe.” Ikki placed a hand on Shun’s shoulder, upset that his little
brother’s wedding was crashed. Shun however, seemed to be handling the
situation just fine and begged to take his place in fighting with the others.
Mu and Ikki suggested firmly that he stay put, for his own good since he was the
target of the South American Saints.
Dohko, Sion and Kiki came up from the back
entrance. “They are at the front!” Sion called out as they ran by Ikki, Mu and
Shun. Camus bolted out of the house, catching up with the Saints and made his
way to the ground’s entrance to help Milo and Shaka. Hyoga returned to Shun’s
side, wearing his armor and allowing Ikki to join the battle in front.
“Mu, check what is going on up there.” Hyoga
said and Mu teleported away for a minute. “Why can’t I fight?” Shun pouted,
feeling small and helpless. “I’m not going to lose you on our wedding day…we
can’t risk them getting you and turning you like they planned.” Hyoga wrapped
his arms around Shun’s waist, kissing him on the lips as Mu teleported back,
clearing his throat to get their attention.
“Oh, Mu…what did you find out?” Hyoga asked,
Shun trying to catch his breath from the kiss. “It is the South American Saints
as we thought. There are ten of them, quite a number to come after one Bronze
Saint.” Mu did not seem worried as he spoke, confident in their abilities to
ward off the offending party.
“Yeah, all this for you Shun.” Hyoga smiled
and went to peck him on the cheek when something dawned on him. “Mu…they said
they needed a Bronze Saint, a Silver Saint and a Gold Saint! What if they are
after one of the Gold Saints today?” Hyoga asked nervously, cursing himself for
forgetting such an important detail.
Mu smiled, “Then I wish them all the luck in
the world. Shaka is too powerful to be captured. Camus and Milo won’t let the
other one be taken and will fight to the bloody end to protect each other.
Dohko and Sion will fiercely protect Kiki who would drive them crazy anyway with
his temperamental attitude. That just leaves me and Aldebaran, and we are both
here…and we’ve got you to protect us.” Mu teased Hyoga, still confident that
the enemy was no match for any of them.
“And Kanon…and Aiolia?” Shun asked, noticing
Mu forgot about them. “I’m sure they will be fine. Saga would hunt down anyone
who went after Kanon and Marin would not stop until Aiolia was returned to her
side. Speaking of Marin…where is she today?” Mu inquired, wondering where any
of the Silver Saints were.
“They all stayed in Sanctuary with Saga and the
others. Athena did not want to leave it vulnerable for attack.” Hyoga
answered, aware that Shun was desperate to join in the fight. “At least let me
put my cloth on.” Shun gave Hyoga his puppy dog eyes, the ones that always got
him his way with the blond. “Well…you would be safer in it…” Hyoga smiled and
Shun jumped, running into the house.
“He really is the purest person in the world.”
Mu commented and Hyoga felt a rush of love sweep over him as he thought of his
beloved Shun. “Yes, yes he is. Who are you with these days?” Hyoga asked Mu
as they waited for Shun to return.
“Oh…” Mu laughed nervously and looked around
to see if anyone was listening. Aldebaran and Saori were standing out of ear
shot. “You probably wouldn’t believe me.” Mu blushed. “Awe come on! Now you
have to tell me!” Hyoga joked with the bashful Saint. “I’m with Valentine.”
Hyoga thought for a moment, not sure who Mu was talking about. “You
mean Deathmask!?” Hyoga blurted out when he remembered that the Cancer Saint’s
real name was Valentine. “Yes, Deathmask.” Mu knew anyone and everyone would
be surprised with his new lover, considering they were very different.
“But…how…when?” Hyoga was stupefied and
intrigued. “He’s a lot more compassionate, ever since the Hades battle. I
never really bothered to get to know him until a few years ago and then it was
only as a friend. But, in the last few months, we have moved to a new level
between us and it is quite satisfactory.” Mu grinned and Hyoga smirked at his
terminology. “Quite satisfactory? Sounds like you bought a car, not found
someone to love.”
“Well…we are very happy. Things are good…we
have fun…” Mu spurted out things as they came to him and Hyoga laughed. “Oh, I
get it. You haven’t told each other ‘I love you’ yet.” Mu blushed harder,
confirming Hyoga’s observation. Shun came out of the house, saving Mu from
having to answer or continue the conversation.
“Did I miss anything?” Shun asked, eager to
help out his brother and fellow Saints against the enemy. “Only Mu’s Twilight
Zone relationship with Deathmask.” Hyoga could not help but tease the lavender
haired man and Shun watched them with a confused expression. “Huh?” Shun asked
and Hyoga said he would tell him later.
Camus returned to the garden, carrying a
struggling Milo in his arms bridal style. “Put me down!” Milo yelled as Camus
sternly kept walking, ignoring his pleas. “Camus, what happened?” Mu asked.
“Milo is hurt, but won’t get it through his thick head that he needs to let the
others deal with this now.” Camus finally set Milo’s feet on the ground.
Standing proudly for a moment, Milo then collapsed to his knees as his legs
buckled.
“Shit!” Milo swore as he hit the ground,
irritated that he was hurt. “I’ll be back, Mu…will you heal him and watch him
for me?” Camus asked and left as Mu nodded. “I’m fine!” Milo yelled after
Camus as he disappeared into the trees. Shun and Mu bent down to help him up,
sitting him in a chair.
“What’s going on out there?” Shun asked as he
supported Milo’s arm. “Well, when Camus dragged me off, there were only three
South American Saints still standing. Shaka and Ikki were taking care of one,
Sion and Kiki were after another and the rest were fighting off the big
guy…what’s his name?” Milo winced as he moved his leg, a large gash apparent as
blood seeped out from under his cloth. Mu took of Milo’s leg plates and set to
work with his energy, healing the wounds.
“Horolorgium Hector.” Shun murmured the name
of their leader. “Yeah, that’s him…the clock guy.” Milo clenched his teeth
together, biting back the pain. “I hit him with all 15 of my needles and he
still didn’t fall.”
“Did he do this to your leg?” Hyoga asked,
concerned that Milo’s attack did not bring Hector down. “Shit…no. I wish. It
would be a lot better than saying what really happened.” Milo was starting to
relax as Mu’s gentle energy worked on his pain. “And what happened?” Shun took
Milo’s helmet off.
“I fell.” Milo spoke in barely a whisper and
was asked to repeat himself. They all stared at him when he said it loud enough
to hear. “You fell?” Mu could not believe this wound was from a simple fall.
“Yeah, I fell. Right after Camus fucking knocked me down a hill!” Milo sounded
annoyed again.
“Camus pushed you?” Shun was almost giggling,
imagining the scene of Camus tossing Milo down a hill. “I was fighting Hector,
next thing I know, I’m flying down a hill into the trees.” Hyoga knew they had
been lovers for many years and could only imagine Camus’s reasoning for pushing
Milo down a hill.
“Maybe he was trying to protect you?” Shun
offered and Milo snorted. “Next time, maybe he can just chop off my legs…” Mu
could not stifle his laugh and they all chuckled, even Milo.
“The threat is gone.” Saori announced, making
her way over to check on Milo. Within a minute, the Saints wandered into the
garden, tired and bruised from battling the South American Saints. “Is everyone
okay?” Saori asked, running from Saint to Saint to make sure they were all in
one piece.
“They are gone…we killed a few, but Hector got
away again.” Seiya and Shiryu said, huffing as they sat down. They had rushed
out to fight as well. Miho had taken Shunrei inside to wait it out with the
other non Saint guests. “Hector is close to impossible to take down. He
reminds me a lot of Radamanthys…very powerful.” Aiolia said and Mu nodded,
remembering the battle well.
“But this clock thing…the ability to adjust
time, he can use it to disappear before we know what’s happening.” Kiki piped
up. “We should send a group after them, take them out once and for all.” Shaka
suggested, looking to Saori for approval. “I agree…we can’t have them coming
after Shun forever. But, no one goes today. Today we celebrate Shun and
Hyoga’s marriage.” Saori said and they all cheered, looking at the happy
couple.
The reception started about an hour later as
everyone cleaned up and tended to their wounds. Milo recovered quickly with a
fussy Camus hovering over him. Hyoga and Shun changed back into their tuxedos
and they all congregated in the main ballroom. The room was set for fine
dining, dancing and an open bar which was the focal point for many guests,
including Ikki.
Ikki drank every once in awhile and could hold
his liquor, but he pounded a few hard drinks quickly without thinking about it.
Shaka approached him at the bar, raising an eyebrow. “Don’t drink yourself into
a stupor.” Shaka smirked as Ikki took another drink of his whiskey.
“Hmph. I haven’t been plastered in years and I
don’t plan on it tonight.” Ikki responded, tilting his glass to his lips
again. Shaka ordered himself a drink, gin and tonic, and moved closer to Ikki.
“Since when do you drink?” Ikki asked, feeling a little lightheaded from the
alcohol.
“I drink for special occasions.” Shaka smiled
and took a sip, clicking his tongue against the roof of his mouth as the liquid
slid down his throat. “I never would have guessed…you’re so…” Ikki started,
then paused. “I’m so what?” Shaka asked.
“You’re so centered and balanced.” Ikki said,
but he really wanted to say that Shaka was a goody, goody who did not do things
like drink or have sex. “Is that the impression you have of me?” Shaka asked
and Ikki said, “Yeah, you are pretty centered.”
“Not that…the no drinking or sex impression.”
Shaka took another drink, letting it sink into Ikki’s head that he was capable
of hearing between the lines. “Uh…yeah I guess…you seem like you don’t cave to
the same vices and desires that the rest of us do.” Ikki felt his head swirl
again and his cheeks heat up from their conversation. How did he end up talking
about sex with Shaka?
Hyoga and Shun sat at the head table with
Shiryu and Shunrei, finishing their dinner and chatting. Shun glanced over and
saw Shaka standing very close to his brother, and it seemed that Ikki did not
mind so much. “Are you excited?” Hyoga asked, patting Shunrei’s protruding
tummy. She was due less than three months and she was getting pretty big.
Shiryu joked about how she waddled now and she
blushed, swatting him lightly on the arm. “Do you want a boy or a girl?” Shun
asked the glowing couple. “I want a little boy, but Shiryu wants a girl.”
Shunrei answered, taking a bite of her second piece of cake. “Either will be
fine, but I think a little girl would be so wonderful.” Shiryu kissed Shunrei
quickly between her bites of cake.
“I hope we will be just as excited when we have
kids!” Shun clapped his hands together, beaming like the blushing bride that he
was. “Kids?” Hyoga sat there for a second, digesting what Shun just said.
“Yeah! I want a bunch!” Shun exclaimed.
“I never thought about us having kids…you
really want some?” Hyoga had never thought about that aspect, assuming since
they were both men that would not be an option. “Of course! But not right
now…maybe in a few years when everything settles down and we get the new Bronze
Saints trained.”
Hyoga sighed, thinking of all the kids that
would be around them soon enough. Shiryu’s child, their own children and the
kids they would be training to take over their positions as Andromeda and
Cygnus. Shun and Hyoga had picked out two boys, one nine and one ten, for
training. They would arrive in Japan in the spring and train together with both
of them. Shiryu had already started training his replacement, with the baby
coming and all. Seiya and Ikki refused for the time being, both content to
remain Bronze Saints as long as they could.
Hyoga and Shun had decided to start the
training so that they could eventually settle down to a quiet life together.
Shun had chosen a rambunctious kid named Attis, a strangely opposite personality
of his own. Hyoga chose a quick, Irish redhead named Cian to train, impressed
with his stealth movement and mental capacity like Mu and Shaka.
The Greek boy, Attis, would arrive first in
April then the Irish boy, Cian, would arrive in early May. They hoped to have
them trained in five years, four if they were exceptionally quick to learn the
techniques. Attis was just as femininely attractive as Shun with shoulder
length gold hair and Cian looked a lot like Kiki when he was younger, minus the
dots.
Shun let his gaze wander back to Ikki, quirking
an eyebrow and nudging Hyoga when he saw Shaka touching Ikki’s arm
affectionately. “That’s interesting.” Shun said and Hyoga chuckled, well aware
of what the blush on Ikki’s cheeks meant. He knew it all too well from his own
experience with Shun before they got together. It meant he was flustered,
flattered and attracted all in the same moment.
Hyoga noticed Milo and Camus laughing at the
next table and went to join them. “So, what’s this about you tossing Milo off a
cliff?” Hyoga smiled, looking to Camus for answers. “I would hardly call it a
toss and it was more like a hill…not a cliff.” Camus said seriously and Milo
rolled his eyes, laughing at his long time lover. “It tore up my legs you
bitch! And you definitely shoved me.”
“He was about to take a harsh blow from Hector
and he wasn’t looking, I had to get him out of the way.” Camus defended. “Of
course I wasn’t looking! You came trotting up, totally catching my attention.”
Milo leaned closer to Camus who started blushing. “I don’t trot.”
“Oh, yes you do…and you look so fucking sexy
when you do.” Milo teased Camus with a couple of quick kisses and Hyoga was
positive they forgot he was there. “Keep that spunk under control until we’re
alone.” Camus patted Milo’s knee, giving him a wink. Hyoga had to laugh at
their banter, it seemed they really loved each other. “Are you two ever going
to get married?” Hyoga asked, catching a strange look from both of them.
“Probably not, then I’d have to pop out of few
kids and my hips just aren’t up for that.” Milo joked. “We’ve committed
ourselves to each other…and you would look good with a round belly.” Camus
patted Milo’s tummy. “I think it would be you with the belly.” Milo said and
once again the two were wrapped up in each. Hyoga excused himself quietly and
made his way to the bathroom.
Along the way, he saw Shaka and Ikki in the
hall in an interesting position. Ikki was actually pressed into the wall by the
Gold Saint. He would find out the next morning that Ikki woke up with a raging
headache and a warm body on his, spurring a series of trysts and rendezvous
between the two Saints. This of course is what would prompt Ikki to approach
Shun and Hyoga, wondering if he was gay because of his love affair with the long
blond Virgo Saint.
Returning to the table, Hyoga sat down next to
Shun, giving him a heartfelt kiss. “I love you Shun.” Hyoga said rather
suddenly, causing his new husband to blush. “I love you too Hyoga.” Shun
dipped his finger in the whipped cream next to his cake and held it to Hyoga’s
lips. His tongue darted out to suck the finger and whipped cream into his
mouth.
“I can think of some other uses for the whipped
cream love.” Hyoga said seductively, very interested in whisking his lover away
for their wedding night. “Oh?” Shun played innocent, “I think you’d have to
show me…I just can’t think of anything to do with whipped cream.” Shun
exaggerated his comment for fun and took another dollop of the sugared cream,
smearing it on Hyoga’s lips.
“Uh oh, seems like it’s time for a certain
couple to retire for the wedding night.” Shunrei laughed, remembering her own
and how excited she was to finally be with Shiryu intimately. “Yes, time for
you two to be off…let the sheets entertain you because your guests are no longer
able to.” Shiryu added, giving Shunrei a squeeze, hoping they could sneak off
soon too.
They took the advice and snuck out of the
ballroom, leaving the party in full swing. Hyoga told Shun about Ikki and Shaka
in the hallway before, interested in the fact that they were no longer there and
had completely disappeared. Finding their wedding suite, which was actually
their normal bedroom, prepared for them, they settled into the room, locking the
door.

Don't pelt me for the Mu/Deathmask thing! *giggles* I like adding oddities in
my stories for the heck of it! =) Next chapter is the Honeymoon!
