Thankful
Tohma had just sat down at his desk when Ryuichi entered his office. The blond looked up, pre-empting his vocalist's upcoming speech. "I suppose you want me to readmit them to the show?"
The singer contemplated him, brow furrowing. "I was going to tell you that you couldn't take whatever this is out on Shuichi."
"I know, Ryuichi. But I need K to understand something." He tried to smile at the slumped brunet. "I was counting on you intervening, though. I don't want Bad Luck to miss this opportunity."
"Then why'd you do it? And what does K need to understand?" When his friend made no move to reply the singer persisted. "What's going on? Tohma."
He knew what K had said, but he wanted to know how Tohma had really acted—and why. Secretly, he wondered how honest the keyboardist would be with him; wondered, also, whether he was even being honest with himself.
"What do you know so far? What have you figured out?" Folding his hands on his desk, the synth player tried to decide what to tell his friend- if he didn't know already. He also debated if he should ask the singer for help figuring out what K was doing.
"You like K." From the slight raise in an eyebrow, Ryuichi deduced that his statement was true enough and the blond wasn't going to argue it, despite how childishly it was phrased.
"Something happened last night-he teased you? It was probably something about 'inappropriate stuff'. He ended happily, glad that he'd managed to phrase things without giving away that K had already talked to him.
Tohma smiled slightly at the brunet's attempt to use a phrase of his. "You're right, actually."
Ryuichi didn't have to feign confusion-this was what he really wanted to know. "So what are you trying to do? You like him, he likes you. Problem?"
The president frowned at him. "Yes, problem. First of all, he's an employee. Secondly, he doesn't 'like' me. He's probably bored. And lastly, Ryuichi, don't you think we'd destroy each other? Neither of us is very capable of being patient with the other."
Ryuichi held in a smirk. These two would be pathetically easy. Each was so worried about the other's actions and reactions that they'd do whatever they thought was necessary in regards to them. "So what if he's an employee? He's certainly not a normal one. And you don't know he doesn't like you. Even if he doesn't, even if he just wants to sleep with you, it won't hurt. And I think you'd be perfect for each other."
Tohma stared at him, suspicion showing. "You want to play matchmaker."
Ryuichi grinned at him. "Do you have such an objection?" He calmed slightly. "I won't let either of you hurt each other, though. Or anyone else."
"Can't you stay out of it, Ryuichi? Nothing will happen."
Ryuichi shook his head, knowing he had the two blonds in his pocket. Now, how to begin?
