Out of Body and Mind
As Hatori walked into the room which had previously held two bodies, he almost didn’t recognise it. The wooden floor, which he had tried his hardest to clean, was spotless. On the floor instead, was a larges chalked in pentagram with unreadable runes and markings. Saki was going round the room lighting the candles. As she lit the last two, she said “Hatori Sohma, Please sit in the centre of the markings.”
Hatori moved his black clad body through where she had left a gap. As he settled into a comfortable position, Saki closed the design. Seeing him kneeling there, she gave him a stern order to sit cross-legged. Her reason she gave him was that he might fall out of the pentagram. She sat opposite him and clasped his hands in hers. Her hands were so cold that Hatori had to suppress a shiver.
“This will be the last time I ask you. Are you sure you want to go through with this? Do you really want to know the truth? Will it deepen your love or ruin it? Do you really want these questions asked?”
“Yes I will do what ever it takes. If only to give me a piece of mind.”
“Very well then. You must do exactly as I say. I here that you can remove memories. This is similar that you have to leave your body. Instead of entering another you must find the black spot in your mind.”
Hatori found himself following her instructions automatically. He found the ‘Black Spot’ just as she told him to move into it. He stilled remembering the lessons from his father. His father had always told him to avoid that place. Again, she repeated the instruction. He stepped into it just as he felt a disturbance around him. He heard Saki shout “No Thoru, don’t come any closer. NO” Her voice was cut off and he heard nothing more. He saw black and felt black. He was floating away…
