Chapter 9 - Unpleasent Aquaintences

It took time, but Tamaki was able to return to Kyoya's home with him. He seemed more like himself and his wounds had fully healed. The inner wounds, however, hadn't mended quite as well.

They had of course mended enough for Tamaki to start work and Kyoya was amazed at how well he did work. Especially when it came to paper work. Kyoya had never seen Tamaki so dedicated to anything and that was saying something.

"You know Tamaki as much as I appreciate all your hard work here and at home..." Kyoya lent against the doorframe of Tamaki's office, "you really should slow down. You're going to wear yourself out"

"You're one to talk Kyoya" Tamaki looked up, then stretched, "you never stop working. I wish I could throw your phone away"

"Yes but unlike you I can handle it and I know how to wind down at the end of the day. You don't. You never were able to switch off." Kyoya entered and shut the door.

"I'm just grateful to you. I want to do my best to deserve this chance. It's more than I deserve" Tamaki mumbled.

"I told you not to worry about it. What I would really like in repayment is a smile. A real smile. Not the fake one that I specialise in and you seem to have mastered. You used to be so genuinely happy and warm with everyone and that's the Tamaki I... I want to have working for me now. Where has that smile gone?"

"I know... I know..." Tamaki sighed, "I just... I'm not naiive or innocent anymore. I have to deal with the fact that I can never be that person again and it hurts. I'm sure now things are looking up I'll smile again. I just need time"

"well... Don't take too long Tamaki. I miss my friend immensely" Kyoya put a hand on Tamaki's shoulder.

Tamaki was left to wonder about that last statement.

A few days after this all hell broke loose.

Kyoya walked into the office to find Tamaki's receptionist banging on Tamaki's office door.

"Whatever is going on?" Kyoya asked, quickly walking up to her.

"He saw our new client, Mr Arimoto, and went all strange. He hid in his office and won't come out"

"Okay. Do me a favour and close for the day. Send everyone home then I want you to go home." Kyoya instructed.

Once everyone was gone Kyoya sighed and unscrewed the hinges of the door. He would've broken it down but he didn't want to have questions asked by repairmen.

"Tamaki?" He entered and looked everywhere. He finally found Tamaki under his desk in the featal position and trembling violently.

"What... Tamaki what's wrong?" Kyoya knelt in front of him. Tamaki either couldn't or wouldn't respond. Each time Kyoya tried to touch him he would recoil and groan in fear.

In the end Kyoya called his sister.

"You're still studying psychology yes?" He asked

"Yes of course! Why do you ask?" Was her response.

Kyoya described what was happening without mentioning names.

"Sounds like a flashback. Are they responding at all?"

"Not at all. It seems like they can't hear me at all."

"Okay you can't do anything at the moment but when they come out of it you need to watch them carefully. Reassure them. Help them to calm down."

"okay. Thankyou." Kyoya nodded, "I'll call you again soon"

Once he had hung up he waited for Tamaki to snap out of it.

He did with a sudden jolt and a whimper.

"Tamaki? Are you with me?" Kyoya tentatively reached out.

"N-no..." Tamaki held out a hand "Please... Please don't touch me..."

"What happened?" Kyoya asked quietly.

"I-it was... And then..." Tamaki tried but couldn't explain.

"You were reliving it weren't you. What happened?"

Tamaki gave a small nod and shuddered.

"Okay...It's just a flashback Tamaki. It's all over now. You're safe here with me." Kyoya murmured.

"But I... It felt..."

"yes I understand" Kyoya stopped him going into it in case it triggered another flashback, "Do you think you could come out if I moved away?"

"I-I don't know...No...I... I can't move it hurts..." Tamaki hugged his knees tighter, "I'm scared and it hurts"

Kyoya thought a moment, then left for a little while.

Then there was suddenly beautiful music wafting into the room.

"Oh Kyoya... Thankyou" Tamaki sighed weakly, closing his eyes. The soothing music wafted over him and began to calm his frayed nerves a little. Music had always been therapeutic for Tamaki and Kyoya obviously knew that fact well.

Kyoya returned and knelt beside him again. Eventually Tamaki crawled out just far enough to move into Kyoya's arms.

"Kyoya it was him...He was here!" Tamaki whimpered.

"The one who set you up?"

"Yes" Tamaki croaked, still shaking violantly "I saw him and the next thing I knew, I was back there..."

"We'll get him Tamaki. Mark my words. We'll get him" Kyoya reassured him, his glasses flashing fiercely.
