Natsu woke up convincing himself that he was ready to battle again although physically he was in no shape to do so. Gray just rolled his eyes at his mate and did his best to try to translate what Natsu said through his bandages since his mouth had to be bandaged too. Gray was surprised Natsu had any teeth left after being hit in the jaw so many times by Gajeel’s iron arms.
Gajeel was still out cold with Levy at his side. She was worried about her husband who looked pretty bad since Natsu had really pulled out a doozie and hit him with enough flame to melt metal. Bones had been broken and there was awful bruising. Gajeel told Levy that dragon slayers could take a beating and heal rather fast so he figured he would be fine after the battle was done. Gajeel had said if Natsu beat him he was not going to fight Laxus, so the battle was done. It wasn’t that Gajeel was weak or a coward, he just felt there was no point in getting himself damn near killed when his powers were not at their peak and when they had been at their peak Natsu had won. Third place was not a horrible spot to be in since there were other dragon slayers in the world that were further down the rungs that he had beaten.
Gray told Natsu about the fight between Laxus and Baldric with Natsu now wanting to find out if he could fight Baldric. It wasn’t necessarily that he wanted to beat him, Natsu just wanted to see how powerful the guy was since he missed out on their fight. If nothing else he wanted to find out which dragon had trained him and how he got his powers. From the fact Baldric produced sand from his belly it had to be an Earth dragon and a powerful one at that to be able to teach him the four elements. He also wanted to know if the dragon disappeared on him as well at the same time as Natsu lost his foster Father Igneel which was now nine years ago since two years had passed since he had last asked. Natsu was still looking for Igneel and would not stop until he found his beloved Father.
Natsu limped with Gray out to the guild hall to relax for a while before going home. Natsu really wanted Gray to do something about his house since it was always freezing there. Part of the reason Natsu went to Lucy’s house so much was not so much that their bed was lumpy, it was because he was tired of being cold all the time. Natsu was used to the heat and Lucy’s place was nice and warm. Plus he loved cuddling with her since she was also nice and warm. It had a blush to it so it was not an average champagne and it had been a rather expensive bottle, however Jellal had paid for all of this in advance after one of the S class jobs was finished. Removing his jacket, Jellal looked into his suitcase for his bright blue silk shirt that he would wear rather than his white one that needed to be laundered. There was fortunately a launderer in town that could clean his silk things since he only brought three shirts with him and all three were silk. His jacket needed to be laundered as well as his pants since he accidently had spilt beer onto the white fabric.
Jellal pulled out his other jacket all in blue with gold symbols on it representing his guild. It was very militaristic and long as it hung down past his knees. He also put on a pair of black pants that billowed and pulled out his black boots taking off the white ones to wear later.
Setting the gold and white jacket he wore to the wedding in the closet with the white pants and silk shirt he finished getting dressed and simply waited for Erza who had tried on three different gowns not sure which one she liked the best. Deciding on the white gown with gold flowers throughout it she put it on and pulled her hair up so it was in a long pony tail with little tendrils of hair flowing about her face. Putting on the high heels she was ready to go as Jellal stood with his hand out to her waiting to go to the casino. Erza grabbed Jellal’s hand and they headed down to the casino.
Meanwhile at the guild hall Elfman was crying with a bunch of people trying to cheer him up. Juvia had turned down his marriage proposal. Mirajane was furious since she warned Juvia not to hurt her very sensitive brother. Apparently Juvia had told Elfman she still harbored feelings for Gray even while they dated and even though Gray was beyond reach. Juvia thought Elfman would be able to help her get over her heartbreak, but she found she wasn’t in love with Elfman like he was in love with her. Juvia said she loved him as a dear friend, but it wasn’t working out for her and she did not want to hurt him by staying in a relationship that was one sided.
Juvia had left for a while hoping to give Elfman some time to deal with his heartache. She never promised to stay with him and she never promised to give him more than she had. Juvia loved Gray and would always love him. She would never forgive Natsu for taking her Gray away and turning him gay of all things. Someday she would get Natsu and when she did Gray would come back to her and be her love.
Natsu wanted to go set Juvia straight and battle it out with the bitch since Gray was his and that was not ever going to change. Gray felt bad for Elfman and for Juvia since he really liked Juvia as a friend, but nothing more. Gray loved Natsu and that was never going to change. He thought Juvia had moved on, but apparently Gray was wrong about her. She was still obsessed with him.
Gray calmed Natsu down and really Natsu was in no condition to fight anyway. The boy was still bandaged up pretty good from his fight with Gajeel. No brawl was going to be going on either, but the guys all wanted to get Juvia and set her straight. Elfman was a good man and she was making a horrible mistake.
Mirajane wanted to beat the hell out of Juvia for hurting her brother, but everyone got her to calm down also. They said that Juvia was probably just confused and needed time to sort things out. Even if they never got together again, she was still family and you couldn’t force someone to love someone else.
Lisanna worried about her brother since he was so very sensitive and did not do well with heartache. Juvia had gone home to think about things. She was planning on finding a way to win Gray to her side when there was a knock on her door. When she opened it there was Lyon standing with a dozen roses looking at her with love in his eyes.
“Lyon, what are you doing here?”
Juvia asked as she took the flowers from him.
“I love you Juvia, I want the chance to court you my dearest. You are all I think about and I have time. I know you think you love Gray, but he isn’t good enough for you. I know I could make you very happy if you will just give me the chance.”
