Part 8: The Epilogue
Epilogue. A fancy way of saying “it’s the end.”
After the execution, Delia had legally altered the original name on the birth certificate adding a second 'J' to the name.
Jamie-Jessica Ketchum, or JJ as she was known to her friends and admirers grew up knowing early what she was going to do with her life. She was a bit of a wild child and a tomboy with a shock of wild red hair and a generous heart. On her tenth birthday she made it known she intended to follow in the footsteps of her famous brother. She hoped to start her training journey with a Pichu or Raichu. It would be too much to hope to begin with a Pikachu like her big brother, but really, any Pokémon would do. Well, a good one to start with.
Approaching the home of Professor Oak, “Uncle Samuel?” she called. “Sorry I’m late. I’m sooo mad at Mom, she forgot to wake me on time.”
“Back here JJ. I think lateness must be genetic in your family!”
She stopped to look in the mirror, she hated the way her very dark red hair seemed to fly in all directions. “At least I have the good sense to keep it short” she thought.
“Did you save me a good one, Uncle Samuel?”
Sorry JJ, I couldn't save one for you, but I do think I have something interesting back here.
Her face dropped seeing an old fashioned pokeball. It was pretty banged up and looked half melted.
“Now, now JJ, don’t look at me like that. This is a perfectly good Pokémon, it was injured for a long time but it’s perfectly fine, it regenerated and is young again now. We’ll even give it a brand new deluxe pokeball.
“Ohhhh, it’s an Arbok, isn’t it? I know all about snake Pokémon.”
