Scorpinac: Ah, but is Var truly finished with him? Josh can't fight, but it isn't over.

"He's been running himself ragged. I don't know what to do." Madison bemoaned.
"He certainly doesn't look as if he's been sleeping." Meilin added. the three girls were in Sakura's room having a girls night sleep over. Kero and Ember were in Tori's old room.
"I know what he's doing. He's trying to fix his stuff as quick as he can before Var decides to target me next." Madison said.
"Boy is about as bad as someone else we know, don't we?" Meilin teased turning to to Sakura.
"I'm not sure who you're talking about." Sakura said playing dumb.
"Now you know damn well that my cousin is just as protective of you as Josh is Madison." Meilin shot back. "Now Wulf and I on the other hand..."
"Fuck every chance you get." Madison said with a smirk and Sakura blushes as Meilin stuck her tongue out at Madison.
"I think you're just jealous that we can sneak around and have some alone time and you and Josh can't." Meilin fired back.
"Exactly!" Madison said frustrated. "The two of you have had more sex since you got together than me and Josh had."
"Uh, I don't think that having sex all the time makes a relationship better than anyone else's." Sakura said.
"It might not, but seeing a couple like Meilin and Wulf sneaking off during classes, before classes, hell, they've probably somehow sneak into one of the locker rooms to do it, can frustrate a girl like me. Josh might not be as well hung as Wulf," Madison continued and Meilin puffed in pride at that statement, "but that doesn't mean I don't want him inside of me any chance I get."
"Hmmm, and here everyone thought you and Sakura would be together." Meilin said and both Madison and Sakura hit her in the head with pillows.
"Can't that rumor die?" Sakura complained.
"It has, but Meilin thought she'd bring it up just to piss me off." Madison dryly commented. "I wasn't going to repeat history."
"Huh? Repeat history?" Meilin asked confused.
"My mother loved Sakura's mom." Madison started.
"But my mother fell in love with my dad." Sakura finished.
"Uh, then who's...?" Meilin started asking not knowing whether or not she was going into territory that the other girls didn't want to discuss.
"My mother has never told me who my father was. I wonder if she went to some sperm bank in order to get pregnant." Madison said now her voice losing its volume.
"Sorry, I..." Meilin began but Madison cut her off.
"No, it's alright, it's just something that I really need to have out with my mother, along with me and Josh being together."
"She still riding your ass about that?" Meilin asked and Sakura rolled her eyes at her friend's lewdness.
"Yes. I'm getting tired of getting the third degree every time my mother notices that I've been gone from the house for more than five minutes!" Madison fumed. "Just because she doesn't like guys doesn't mean that her daughter is the same way and will be hurt." she continued to complain.
"Uh, with your obsession with video taping everything, you and Josh hadn't...filmed..." Meilin tried to get but started to fall into a fit of giggles and Madison joined in.
"No...but that doesn't...mean that...we haven't...about it." Madison said between fits of giggles.
'Am I the normal one here or am I the abnormal one in this group?' Sakura pondered.

'Damn, circuitry can only handle so much power. That is the problem with building a reactor that can put out an infinite amount of power, the circuitry can only handle so much.' Josh mused continuing his re-wiring. 'Then there was the overload I suffered in that last battle. That attacked counter the amount of power I used to shield myself. I'm still sore from that explosion. Now, let's test the freeze ray.' He activates the beam of cold and smiles to himself. 'Good, now for the new 'flame ray',' He had combined his flame throw with his laser to create a heat ray that set anything on fire it came in contact with, but also was on fire as well. He frown seeing the burned out circuit. 'I'm going to have to put in a cooling system into that thing or it'll burn out the whole system!'

Sword met hammer with a loud clanging thud. Usually, Wulf would be sparring with Meilin, but since she was at Sakura's Lee was a good substitute since he had a weapon and Wulf hadn't trained weapon to weapon in a while.
"Think we'll have to drag Josh out of his lab?" Wulf grunted.
"During the week, no, but on the weekends...maybe, but there's the whole Var thing we'd have to worry about." Lee returned ducking a swing and tried to attack the handle.
"Eli seems to be no help when it comes to knowing Var." Wulf commented avoiding the blade and swings again.
"Eli has been useless since he finished testing me and Sakura." Lee got out ducking the blow.
"He only seems to be serious when he's actually in battle. wonder why he and Shienna haven't been in a fight recently?"
"She's stayed from him...wonder if he said something that actually hurt her?"
"If she were still demon I would question that statement, but she's human now and she's got to handle those emotions she now has."
"Hmmm, wonder if Var would try going after her?" Lee grunted blocking another strike.
"Don't know...Var hasn't acted like all our other foes."
"No kidding!" Lee snarled and almost disarmed Wulf.

"Josh," Madison said shaking him, "Josh!"
"Gah!" he lets out jumping out of his chair. Madison rolled her eyes.
"C'mon, it's time for school."
"School? Damn, I'll never finish fixing it." Josh complained.
"Of course you will." she offered with a smile and Josh relaxes and heads into his bedroom and returned a moment later ready for school.

'Ah, two for the price of one this morning. I wouldn't risk it, but if I can quickly pick them off and vanish just before the others get there I could rid myself to the lowly couple.' Var mused watching Madison and Josh walking hand in hand to school. From his position, he energizes an attack and throws it.
"Damn!" Josh swore pulling himself and Madison away from Var's attack. Still holding on to each other, the two make a mad dash towards the school. 'Give it your best shot, Var.' Josh thought. He would keep Madison safe He knew that if they made it to the school, that Var would back off so that he wouldn't have to face the rest of his friends. With the adrenaline running through his veins now, he was able to run through the alleyways and back streets. Madison was having a hard time keeping up, but Josh seemed bound and determined to make sure she didn't fall behind nor let any spell hit her.

"Josh, Madison!" Sakura cried seeing the two collapse through the door.

"Var...chased...us...all...the...way...here." Josh gasped out. Sakura sighed to herself. She didn't like it, but Lee and her had to come up with a way to get Var focused on them instead of Josh and Madison. Josh was going to kill himself protecting Madison.
