Under darkening winter skies the sidewalks were filled with holiday shoppers rushing through snow and ice to make last minuet errands. A tall elegant man with tawny hair cut short around his heart shaped face glanced down at his wristwatch. The clear chill air seemed to beckon Kagetsuya as the bright glimmer of the first star of the evening revealed itself. Sighing the blond glanced around the throng of people. \"There are just too many people out tonight. I wish I could just fly home. It would be so much faster than this plodding along. If the traffic continues to be this thick I will never make it to the train station in time to catch the next train. If I am late Chihaya is going to be worried.\"
Tucking the bag of food more tightly into his coat Kagetsuya lowered his head into the wool collar to help keep the wind and snow out. Ignoring the constant jostling of the crowd the blond quickened his pace as much as he could. The train station wasn\'t far now. Just a few more blocks to the north and he would be on his way back to his dark little angel.
\"I wonder what you\'re doing right now.\" His lips lifted in a smile to himself as he imagined the demure figure of his beloved ensconced in wrapping paper as he franticly tired to wrap his present for Kagetsuya. A feeling of triumph fluttered through him as he stretched minutely to make certain the ribbons weren\'t too tight. Glancing down at glittery gift tag Chihaya laughed. \"It\'s perfect, Kagetsuya will be so surprised.\"
Hopping over to the dresser Chihaya glanced at himself in the mirror. He nodded pleased with the job he had done as the image in the mirror smiled back at him. \"What a good piece of bad luck I had. If the store hadn\'t lost Kagetsuya\'s gift, I would have something to put under the tree. I probably would never have thought of putting myself under the tree instead. The company will send the present eventually, but I think I like the idea of being his Christmas present.\" Chihaya giggled as he thought about what he was doing. \"I\'m not normally this bold.\"
Looking down at his bound arms his soft alto chimed as he laughed once more, \"Well I suppose being wrapped up in a ribbon is rather submissive. But, I have a feeling my bright angel will be quite surprised to find me like this. At least this is one gift I know he won\'t return.\" Chihaya\'s amethysts shimmered with love and good humor as he checked his handy work one more time.
With the ribbon wrapped around his legs Chihaya couldn\'t walk so he hopped out of the bedroom into the living room. At the door he paused to catch his breath. \"I didn\'t know hopping would be this tiring.\" He muttered looking up at the little tree in the corner of the room. The silver and gold star ornaments glistened in the light of the room. \"Oh that\'s a thought. I should turn the lights off. The Christmas lights should be enough to see by with the fire going.\" Leaning forward the brunet reached out to turn the light off with his teeth. He missed his mark by about three inches and fell to the floor with a resounding crash.

Lavender eyes widened in horror when a ringing sound became apparent. With dread in his heart he looked over towards the kitchen where the phone was. \"Of course it would have to ring now.\" He grumbled as he pushed himself upright. Hopping as fast as he could without unbalancing himself Chihaya bounced into the kitchen.
Lifting the phone\'s receiver he set it onto the counter and then settled his dark head next too it.
On the other side of town Kagetsuya hung up the phone after it rang for the 8th time. \"Hmm, No answer. I can\'t imagine any reason Chihaya might have for gone out. So he must have gone to bed early.\" Kagetsuya felt nervous despite the fact that it was very likely that nothing was wrong. Pacing the waiting platform the blond wished fervently that he had been able to get out of the store sooner. But it was so crowded that it had taken almost three times as long as it normally did. At least there was nothing in the groceries that would spoil.
\"I wouldn\'t have bothered shopping at all but tomorrow I want to make a very special dinner for my little angel. It\'s a good thing the store wasn\'t sold out on any of the things I needed. A lot of the shelves were bare tonight. I really got lucky. I just hope the second train comes along soon.\"
As if summoned by his thoughts the next train was announced as the long white cars slid to a stop in front of the loading platform. \"Finally,\" The blond muttered. Holding tight to his groceries, Kagetsuya boarded the train.
In the apartment Chihaya set the receiver back on the phone with a sigh. When he had picked it up, all he got was a dial tone. \"I missed him, It was probably just Kagetsuya calling to let me know he was on his way home. Chihaya shivered despite the heat coming from the hearth. Looking up at the clock the lovely young man frowned. \"I wonder what is keeping him. I hope it isn\'t too serious.\"
\"I am not afraid. Kagetsuya can take care of himself. Besides I would know if he were in trouble.\" Shrugging as best he could while tied up Chihaya started hopping back into the living room. The sounds of the door unlocking filled the apartment but did not wake the sleeping angel. Pushing the door closed with his back Kagetsuya walked into the kitchen without looking around. He set the food on the counter and then stood back as he contemplated weather or not he should put it away. \"No, I think I\'ll just leave it out. None of this stuff will spoil so there is no reason to put it all away. And I think it\'s more important to check on Chihaya anyway.\"
Leaving the food behind the blond strode out of the kitchen. Throwing his coat on the coat rack he was almost to the bedroom when he skidded to a halt next to the Christmas tree. \"Chihaya?\" He asked his lips shaping the name wonderingly.

Braking away from the kiss Chihaya gasped desperately for air before flashing a bright smile at his beloved. \"Are you convinced yet?\"
\"No, not yet.\" Kagetsuya shook his head a seductive smile curving his lips. His hair shimmered around his face as he leaned in for another kiss. Just before their lips met he whispered in a velvety tone,\" But you\'re welcome to continue convincing me if you wish.\"
A moan of desire vibrated through Chihaya\'s chest causing him to reach out and pull the white angel to him once more.
