\"WHAT?? You\'ve GOT to be kidding me!!\" Kasumi\'s voice was a scale higher than needed to be. Her face was blue wfearfear as she cringed away from the box Satoshi held.

\"I bought it from this lady at a garage sale. Wanna see?\" Satoshi smiled mischeviously and went to open the box.

\"NO!\" The red-head\'s voice was just a squeak, but it stopped Satoshi anyway. \"Don\'t you know those things are evil??\" She snapped angrily at her friend.

\"No they aren\'t. That\'s just a myth. It\'s just for fun.\" The boy smiled and he looked down at the small yellow rodent by Kasumi\'s feet. \"Not you, too, Pikachu?\"

\"PI-Kaaa.\" Pikachu said defiantly and crossed her arms, glaring up at her master.

\"I didn\'t know Pokemon could be supersticious.\" Satoshi muttered under his breath.

\"Well, you know, Satoshi, there are such things as Ghost Pokemon.\" Takeshi put in his two cents. \"But I\'m with you on this topic. Ouijii is just for fun. It\'s not real.\"

\"Thanks, Takeshi.\" Satoshi smiled. \"So wanna try it tonight with me?\" The pokemon breeder went blue in the face with fear.

\"Uh. Whnighnight? Don\'t you know it\'s Halloween?\" The tanned boy\'s words made Satoshi mentally facevault.

\"Takeshi! I thought you said you weren\'t supersticious!\" Satoshi stared disbelieving up at his contradicting friend.

\"Ha! See, Satoshi? No one wants to play that stupid board game because it\'s evil!\" Kasumi put her foot down, litterally, to exaggerate her point.

\"Kasumi!\" Satoshi looked defeated.

\"Well, you know what they say about the road less traveled, Satoshi.\" Takeshi pointed out, litterally as well.

\"Takeshi.\" Satoshi sagged even more.

\"Pi-ka, pikachuu, pikapi.\" Pikachu scorned, but bounced over to give her master a comforting pat on the leg. Satoshi sighed deeply and the others looked sadly to him.

\"Satoshi...\" Takeshi and Kasumi said in unison and the boy shook his head.

\"I just wanted to try it...once...\" Satoshi looked up, heartache in his eyes. \"I thought you guys were my friends... Don\'t you trust me?\"

The trio began walking towards their next town while in the shadows a lean figure watched with interest. A mischevious smile played across smooth lips and the person faded back into the shadows. Oh this was going to be fun.

The gang filed into the crowded pokemon center and stared around.

\"What\'s going on?\" Satoshi whispered.

\"Oh! There you are!\" Nurse Joi called as she walked over to the group. \"Your mother called and she\'s looking for you! You can use the phone in the back. We\'re throwing a Halloween party tonight and everyone\'s preparing.\" Her attention was yanked away when she heard something fall over. \"Oh, be careful!\"

\"Takeshi?\" Kasumi whispered and poked him hard.

\"She\'s beautiful...\" The older boy responds, staring after the nurse. Kasumi sighs and looks to Satoshi, who seems to have disappeared.

\"Ooooh, Satoshi! Leave me here alone with this love-struck loon.\" She stomps her foot, grabs Takeshi by the ear, and drags him into the back room.

\"Hi mom! Nurse Joi said you were looking for me.\" Satoshi smiles nervously.

\"Have you been eating well?\" His mother chirps over the phone. \"I want you to come home tonight. Professor Ookido and I are throwing a party, so bring your friends.\"

\"That sounds like fun, Satoshi.\" The boy jumps and stares at Kasumi.

\"Yeah. Do we have to wear costumes?\" The older boy asks looking over Satoshi\'s other shoulder.

\"It would be nice. And we\'re giving away a prize to the best costume!\" Satoshi\'s mother responds.

\"Satoshi.\" A smaller screen pops up in the corner of the screen his mother is on. \"I\'d like you to find my grandson and bring him with you, if you can.\"

Satoshi laughs nervously. \"Ah! Okay, Professor Ookido!\"

\"Good.\" The man nods, and the small corner disappears.

\"He\'s worried about Shigeru.\" Satoshi\'s mother whispers into the conversation then sits back and smiles broadly. \"I\'ll see you tonight, then?\"

The three nod and she hangs up the phone after blowing a kiss to her son. Satoshi blushes and glares at the screen. \"Mooom.\"

\"Don\'t be shy. She\'s your mother.\" Takeshi squeezes Satoshi\'s shoulder comfortingly.

\"Thanks guys.\" Satoshi smiles sweetly.

\"Ooooh. Even though Takeshi doesn\'t want to patronize you about it, doesn\'t mean that I don\'t.\" Kasumi smiles and pinches Satoshi\'s cheek.

\"Cut it out!\" Satoshi bats at the hand and glares up to her.

\"You\'re so cute when you glare like that, Satoshi.\" Kasumi smiles and Satoshi blushes and looks away.

\"L-Let\'s go tell Nurse Joi the good news...\" Satoshi stands and hurries out the door, leaving a confused Takeshi and Kasumi.

\"Does that mean he likes me?\" Kasumi whisperes with a big smile.

\"I don\'t know.\" Takeshi is obviously the elder and more experienced.

\"Nurse Joi!\" Satoshi walks up to the woman and smiles. \"Mom\'s throwing a Halloween party.\"

\"Oh really...\" A thought popped into her head and she turned to the group. \"Listen up everyone! How would you all like to relocate the party to Pallet?\"

There was a moment then everyone started cheering their agreements. Joi turned back and smiled at Satoshi.

\"We\'ll give you guys a ride, okay? Better go get your costumes.\" She looked the boy over and noticed the box. \"What\'s that?\"

Satoshi jumped and laughed nervously. \"It\'s just...um...a board game.\" He turns and rushes to his emerging friends. \"We can go shopping. They\'re all comming with us.\" He waves to everyone who\'s taking decorations back down.

\"Shopping for costumes?\" Takeshi asks then nods. \"Alright. Let\'s go.\"

\"C\'mon, Satoshi! I know just the thing for you.\" Kasumi drags the helpless boy onward with Pikachu nestled happily on his shoulders.
