My Dreams of You
A Please Save My Earth fic
By Ryoko Porter

**At a park in Kyoto**
‘What am I doing?’ Issei thought to himself. ‘Why do I go through this? Gyokuran will never love me. Hell he hasn’t even talked to me in three years! The last time I saw him I was at my wedding to Sakura. What a joke! Even Sakura knows I don’t and won’t ever love her the way I love Gyokuran. But of course he doesn’t love me back, it’s Mokuren he loves. He loves the girl who won’t have anything to do with his love! Who married a kid! Who found her true love, and gained their love in return. Gyokuran is in love with a truly happy person.’ Issei fought hard with himself not to cry there in the park. Lately it had become harder for him to come home to Sakura. He still thought of her as a friend, who always loved to play with his long hair on the moon. He still thought of his wife as Shusuran.

For anyone, one life was hard enough. But he had to deal with two! Sure there were six others who had the same memories as he, but it wasn’t the same. You see; soon after high school when he started collage, his dreams became much more intense. And now he knew everything from his past, and was more Enju-chan then ever. Because of his telepathy it seemed as though he was Enju and never Issei. It was as if Enju had just been dreaming of being Issei and woke up in his body. The change was so dramatic that he now had very little memories of being Issei. He couldn’t remember what elementary school he had gone to, he had no idea when his birthday was, and now he struggled to remember his family. It seemed that Enju in a desperate state; was taking over so that she could be happy and loved the two emotions she never felt in her life on the moon.

~~ Flashback to the moon ~~
It was like any other day to everyone else, but Shusuran could tell there was something wrong with Enju. Sure she was quiet most of the time, but never this quiet. She hadn’t said a single word all day and it was already dinnertime. Yes it was definitely time to find out what happened!

After some searching Shusuran found Enju, however she also found something that was horrifying. Enju was sitting on her bed alone, but next to her lay a knife and blood was falling to the floor from her wrists. Enju seemed fixated on the deep cut; her eyes barely left it when she looked up to Shusuran. “Oh Shusuran, are you here to get me for dinner?” her voice sounded of an innocent child, yet there also seemed to be a pain within it.

“Enju what are you doing?” Shusuran ran over and used the bed sheets to wrap around the cut, to stop the bleeding. “What’s wrong with you Enju? Why would you do that?” though normally calm, Shusuran couldn’t hold it in. Than after making sure that the bleeding had stopped she looked up to her friend’s face to see tears streaming down it. “Enju what’s wrong, what happened?”

“He said Mokuren.” Shusuran didn’t need to ask whom. “Gyokuran and I made love last night and he said ‘Mokuren’. I always felt it, I always knew he thought of her when we…” Enju seemed to struggle to say it. “… But last night he called her name. Then in sleep he whispered that he loved her.” Tears now were now the only things visible about her eyes. “WHY CAN’T HE SCREAM OUT MY NAME? WHY CAN’T HE LOVE ME? Mokuren doesn’t even care about him; sometimes I wonder if she knows he exists! WHY CAN’T HE LOVE ME? WHY CAN’T I BE HAPPY AND IN LOVE?”

“Enju…” Shusuran was at a loss, she had no idea what to say. Of course Enju would get upset at times about her love for Gyokuran, but this was the worst thing ever to happen. “Come on let’s get you to Shukaido.” Shusuran said quietly, however Enju’s expression seemed to change from sadness to fear.

“No don’t tell anyone! Please don’t say anything? If you do they’ll think I’m crazy, and I won’t be able to see Gyokuran!”

**Back in the park with Issei**
Issei found himself sitting alone in a swing as he held his head from the painful memory. He no longer needed to be asleep to remember things about his past, now they came as simple thoughts just as any human memory.

“Gyokuran, Jinpachi I miss you so much.” Issei heard himself whisper.

**Later at Issei and Sakura’s home**
Sakura sat with the new neighbor in their kitchen sipping tea and talking about their lives. Sakura had adjusted much better than expected into the adult life. She seemed to have gained Shusuran’s calmness somewhere amongst it all. But she still looked the same and had the hot temper when it came to her best friend’s love life, though her best friend was her husband. Sakura didn’t expect Issei to love her back, nor did she love him truly. She too had had a lover in her past life of whom she still loved. Her lover had been a strong brave man she met in school. But he died with everyone else when the planet was destroyed. Once in a while she liked to think that she’d find him here on Earth, but it didn’t matter. As Sakura she simply wasn’t interested in any one that way. So she married the one person whom she identified with, Issei.

The wom women were busy when Issei walked in, home from work. “Issei-chan [1] I would like you to meet Karukuma-sensei, our new neighbor!”

“Hello,” he nodded to the woman. “I’ll be down stairs if you need me.” Issei then left the room, leaving a slightly annoyed wife and a confused woman.

“Sorry about him, he gets like this when he has bad days. He just stoles away into his basement,
alone to do his sketching.” Sakura explained.

In the basement Issei had made a shrine to his previous life. Normally in Japan people didn’t have basements however Issei had designed the house to their liking of American houses. He had become an architect, and they had gone to America for their honeymoon. The basement was nicely furnished with a carpet that was needed to keep it warm in the winter months. But the walls were filled with a mural he had done of the moon and it’s inhabitants. The past lives he remembered so well. The room also had some things that were never used, such as the samurai swords his father had given him when he was young; at least he thought it was his father.

Issei used the room to leave the pathetic life he was in. When he was in basement he was able to pretend he was happy, but not this time. This time was far more terrible than any other was; he now wanted to die. But could he do it? That might be a problem.

~~ On the moon, a day after Gyokuran died ~~
Mokuren walked down the hallway of the moon base in search of Hiiragi, when she heard the sound of crying. The sound seemed to be coming from one of the bedrooms near by, and another voice was heard in a soothing manner. Deciding to check it out Mokuren followed the sound to Enju’s room where Enju sat on her bed in tears and blood as Shusuran tried to stop her bleeding wrists. Enraged Mokuren ran into the room to Enju and slapped her across the face. She used such power that the slap stung her own hand afterwards. “YOU STUPID GIRL! How dare you take such matters into your own hands! Sarjalim is the only one who can release you from life!”

“Mokuren, as a Sarjalian you have no heart! Do you not care that the man she loves more than her own life has just died?” Shusuran angrily cursed Mokuren.

“If she loves Gyokuran so much she wouldn’t kill herself! If she does she will never be reborn, never seeing him again!”

“I believe in Sarjalim as much as you, but a heartbroken person cannot be expected to think as clearly as one whom has all she needs!”

“So you support the suicide of your best friend? Maybe you want her out of the way! Maybe you loved Gyokuran!” Mokuren gloated.

“YOU BITCH!” that was it for Shusuran, so in a fit of rage the shorthaired girl slapped the other in the same fashion that was done to her crying friend. However when she pulled her hand back to do it again her wrist was caught by another smaller one. Looking over she saw Enju still crying, but now she had a new air of strength as she held her friend’s wrist from striking the other girl.

“No more Shusuran, once was enough and Gyokuran would be angry if I let the woman he loved be harmed.” Shusuran nodded okay and Enju let go. Then looking over to the confused Mokuren she frowned as Enju smiled as sad smile. “Yes Mokuren, it was you of whom Gyokuran loved, not me. No matter what he’ll always love you, just as I love him.”

“I,” Mokuren was in shock. “… I had no idea.”

“That’s ‘cause all you do is talk to plants, sing, and cuddle with Shion.” Shusuran muttered to herself. But Mokuren didn’t notice, as she seemed to be thinking of something.

“But Enju, you and Gyokuran had shared a bed a few times, did you not?”

“For him it was sex and nothing more.” Enju guided the two other women to her door. “Thank you both for stopping something I would have regretted, but right now I’d like to be alone if you don’t mind.” And with that the two warring women were outside the closed doors.

Inside Enju sat back on the bed lost in sorrow. She looked over to her side to a picture frame on her nightstand. Picking it up she looked at the photo of her and Gyokuran in the garden on campus on their graduation day. She had met her love in collage, and fell in love instantly. Still holding the frame she pushed a small matching button and the picture came to life. She watched the small movie of her and him celebrating with the rest of the students. Then still watching Enju saw her favorite memory; in amongst the party Gyokuran placed the first kiss he ever gave to her on the lips. Then the movie ended showing the two standing next to each other again. “Gyokuran, please give me strength to carry on until I am able to join you? I fear I shall try to kill myself again, keeping me from seeing you again. I miss so so much my love. And I hope Sarjalim will bless you. When I die I have decided to ask to be a man so that we can always be together, even just as friends. And hopefull sha shall never have to worry about hurting ourselves with love.”

**Back in the basement**
Issei couldn’t handle it anymore. So there he sat alone in the room, and alone in love. His heart was broken for the last time, and he would now do something for himself. He had not done anything for himself since before Enju had first met Gyokuran. Finding a pen and two pieces of paper he quickly wrote something on each sheet. He then folded them and wrote the names Shusuran and Gyokuran. After he was done he slowly stood and walked over to the wall where the samurai sword and dagger hung. Gently he took the dagger from its mantle and unsheathed it. Then as he held his breath so that he wouldn’t scream he made a vertical cut down his vein.

As the blood seeped from his body Issei did something he had not done in years. He prayed to Sarjalim. “Sarjalim I beg that you forgive me and help me through this? I’ll admit I am afraid. But more important is that you protect my beloved Jinpachi, as he is now known. I hope that he will grieve my death, however only to know that he cares. Keep him safe and help him to find a person to make him happy the way I never could. I wish I was strong enough to stay with him, but I am not. So again I ask for you to save him from a fate like mine. Amen. Gyokuran, Jinpachi be safe my love.” He slowly lay down on his side to see the mural that copied the picture Enju had of her and Gyokuran together. “I love you, Gyokuran.” He finally whispered as he closed his eyes for one last time.

**In a park in Tokyo where Jinpachi was on a date**
Jinpachi was very bored. The girl Daisuke had set him up with wasn’t in the least interesting. All she talked about was how hard it was to do her hair. But as a gentleman would he listened intently to most of what she said. He was just about to say he needed to find a restroom when the girl stopped talking and looked at him in a way he had never seen before, it was as if she were in a trance. Then her mouth opened and a sound was unbelievable. It was Issei’s voice! “I love you, Gyokuran.” Then without any warning the girl fainted into his arms.

“Issei?”

**Back in the Issei and Sakura’s home**
Karukuma-sensei had just left and Sakura was worried. It was already nine o’clock and Issei had been in the basement for four hours alone. Something wasn’t right.

“Enju-kun [2], is every thing okay down there?” Sakura called down into the basement. But when she didn’t get an answer she became even more worried so she worked her way down the stairs. “Enju-kun are you taking a nap?” she said in sort of mocking way. Then she saw it, her husband lying sideways with small pool of blood under his wrists. “Sarjalim please no!” she screamed as she ran to the body. Kneeling beside the body she checked the pulse, maybe she wasn’t too late. But she really didn’t need to, her heart told her she was, and the body only reinforced the idea. Looking around the room Sakura spotted the two notes and picked up the one that had her previous name on it. She opened it and was surprised to see only a short note:

Shusuran,
I’m so sorry, I hope you can forgive me some day. But it hurts too much. I could not take the pain any longer. I must give Enju much credit for being much stronger than I. You know our past, however you do not know mine and I wish not to plague you with it. But you must know that I care deeply for you and hope you find happiness some day or lifetime.
Your devoted friend in this life and the last,
Enju

Tears ran down Sakura’s face, she knew she wouldn’t see her friend again. However she could not hold anger agenst him. “It’s okay Enju-kun, I forgive you. I pray Sarjalim forgives you also.” She then got up to find a phone to call the police.

**A week later at Issei’s funeral**
The funeral was very privet, only the last six scientists came. Issei’s parents had died a year ago and he had no siblings. It was held in the night when the moon was full, in field on the outer reaches of Kyoto. Sakura had decided to bury the body in the matter of which their past selves’ culture had done. Alice was surprised that Sakura did not loose one tear. But Sakura had made it clear that she had excepted it a while ago. Rin and Daisuke were both a little detached; neither had really known the diseased in either life. Haruhiko of course was in tears just as Alice for both had tender hearts that could feel the pain of loss.

But worst off was Jinpachi. He seemed to be in a trance as he stood about twenty feet away, behind a tree. No one had noticed him until Alice said that the tree had told her he was there. Right away Sakura went to him, as the others watched.

“Issei wrote this before he died,” she held out the note. “… It’s for you.” Jinpachi hesitantly took it and opened it to read:

Gyokuran,
I am so sorry to give you the pain of my death, and beg your forgiveness. I also must beg that you forgive me for that lie I fed you all those years ago when I kissed you. I told you it was a joke and that was the most painful thing in the world for me. I know that you disliked it, or rather hated it. However for me it was the most memorable moment for me in this life. I have forgotten most of it, but I remember every moment with you. My telepathic abilities have made life a mess for me, and now the Enju in me has taken over.
Yes I am Enju, and though we shared the dreams you never seemed to understand that I was she and that she loved you! I love you, and beg that you forgive me for it. I love you, just as you love Alice. Gyokuran loved Mokuren, as you know. And so did Enju love Gyokuran. I d I died as Enju I wished to be reborn as a man so that I could be close to you without the pain of romantic love. I was so wrong to think love would be easier if you and I were just male friends. I was stupid to think that being a boy would rid me of romantic love for you. It is so much more painful to know you will never be touched in a loving way. As Enju at least I would always know you would come and hold me, love me, even for a simple thing as lust.
When you as Gyokuran died, Mokuren found me trying to kill myself and told me that if you commit suicide Sarjalim would not grant you another life. So that is what I have done, ridden myself of life. Hopefully in eternal death I shall be saved from the painful plague of one-sided love.
Your devoted friend and lover,
Enju

Jinpachi was heartbroken. ‘What have I done? Have I just committed my best friend to death, and psychological torture before? If only I had excepted it, at least I could have stayed close to him as a friend and given him support. But it was my, own stupid homophobic fear that had separated us. Am I so stupid to forget our past, and not take into account that if I still felt love, Issei also would?’ he thought savagely. And now he understood why Enju had been reborn a man when the others where the same sex as before and that caused him even more pain.

~~ On their home planet, the day Gyokuran and Enju first met ~~
The day was beautiful, and all of the flowers were blooming. Enju was a little scared because she couldn’t find the art room of the campus. As she looked at the map she was given she didn’t see the tall blond in front of her and ran right into him. “Oh I’m so sorry! I didn’t…”

“It’s okay.” She heard a deep calm voice say to her. So she looked up, a little afraid. “Hello, my name’s Gyokuran, it’s my first year too. What’s your name?”

“Enju.”
A f A few months later *~
Enju and Gyokuran were in the park helping each other in their work, well more likekurakuran helping Enju. ‘Gyokuran is so smart, and he’s so great to help me with my work.’ Enju thought.

“Enju, who is that girl with Shion?” Gyokuran asked looking away from their work. Enju followed his look and saw the Sarjalian girl.

“Oh that’s Mokuren, she’s in my botany class.”

“What she like?”

“She’s nice, talks a little too much to plants though.” Enju answered.

“She talks to plants?” Gyokuran was confused.

“She’s a Sarjalian.” Enju that stood up and held out her hand for Gyokuran to take. “Come on I’ll introduce you, I have to talk to her any ways.”

“Well I…”

“Come on or are you afraid?” then Enju took his hand and pulled him up with all her strength. As she walked over to the other couple she was forced to pull the taller boy after her. “Hello Shion! Hi Mokuren!”

“Oh hello Enju!” Mokuren answered cheerfully as Shion only nodded.

“I wanted to thank you for helping me in botany today! I would have failed for sure if you hadn’t helped me save that plant!”

“Oh sure no problem.” Mokuren looked past Enju with worry.

“Oh I almost forgot! This is Gyokuran, he’s a first year like me.”

“He… hello!” Gyokuran blushed as he stuttered.

~* A few years later at a school dance their senior year *~
“Enju thanks for being my date.” Gyokuran said as he stared at the happy couple, Shion and Mokuren.

“Well what kind of friend would I be if I didn’t?” Enju said trying to get Gyokuran to pay attention to her. The two were sitting off to the side at one of the tables, allowing Gyokuran to watch the woman he loved. But Enju wasn’t going to take it any longer, so she stood up and in front of him holding out her hand. “Come on, let’s go dance! Mokuren would be interested to see what a good dancer you are!”

“Huh?” Gyokuran looked up at his date in confusion. But as he looked it was the first time in the night he noticed her. Her hair was up in a messy bun. And she wore a slightly tight spring dress. Gyokuran was forced to admit she was pretty.

“Girls like to dance, Gyokuran!” Enju said as she took his hand and pulled him up to dance. The two danced for what seemed to Enju as hours. She had never been so happy. But then Gyokuran pulled away and said he was tired and for the first time she noticed that her feet felt like they were on fire. So the two left the dance floor to sit at a table.

“Thanks for dancing with me Gyokuran.” Enju breathed.

“I had fun, dancing with you. You’re really good!” said Gyokuran, making Enju blush.

“Gyokuran I never knew how good you are at dancing!” the voice of Mokuren said from above them. Looking up Enju put on the mask of happiness and grinned.

“Yeah, but he’s not ready to give up! Why don’t you dance with him Mokuren my feet are way too tired!” Enju could see the blush on both Gyokuran and Mokuren’s faces.

“Would you mind dancing with me Gyokuran?” Mokuren asked weakly.

“Yeah, I mean sure!” and the two were off.

“Why did you do that?” a dark voice asked. Enju didn’t need to look up to know it was Shion. He always was the jealous type.

“Because Gyokuran wanted to dance with her; but you know how shy he is, he would never have asked her.”

“But you haven’t answered my question! Why did you do it?”

“Because I love him.” Enju said longingly, but than she felt it, Shion’s rage! “Let’s go outside shall we?” looking up she saw Shion nod. “Good.” Then she stood and walked out of the hall with Shion close behind. “We’re alone now.”

“I’m sorry I have to do this, but Gyokuran would have never danced with Mokuren if it wasn’t for you’re meddling!”

“We’ve done this before, let’s just get it done with.” Enju knew what was happening, it always happened. Shion would take his anger out on her, concluding that Gran ran was too shy to do anything alone, even say no.

“Good night Enju, we’ll see you in the morning.” Said Shion menacingly. And then she felt it, her in sides pulling apart! Shion had done this to her before, using his power he would pull her soft tissues apart enough to cause her great pain, but when she passed out he would stop allowing her body to heal. The pain was terrible, but Enju was so used to it that it took longer for her to pass out. Tears fell from her eyes as she mouthed the name of the one she loved. Then finally she was unconscious. Using the same power that pained her, Shion helped her gently to the floor. After checking her pulse Shion picked her up into his arms and carried her in side.

The crowed in side never noticed Shion carrying Enju in, but Gyokuran did and he came running. “Shion what happened?” he demanded as he took his friend’s limp wait into his own arms.

“We went outside for fresh air and she just fainted.” Shion lied. Shion watched as Gyokuran tried to get through the many people. After a moment he could see the anger in Gyokuran and then something unexpected. Gyokuran used his powers! Everyone that had been in his way was suddenly pushed with an invisible force, away. Some were even thrown agenst walls as Gyokuran made his way through.

~* A few days later *~
“So Gyokuran, have you got your acceptance letter yet?” asked Enju. There was no reason to go into detail about what she was talking about, because they both knew. Both of them had applied to go on the trip to study a distant planet after graduation and were expecting answers. Gyokuran had applied when he found out Mokuren had, but Enju had secretly applied to be with him. She had not said anything because she doubted she would be allowed to go. But the night before she had gotten a letter stating that she was very much wanted for the trip.

“I got a letter,” Gyokuran started somberly. “…But I didn’t get in. They said I wasn’t qualified.”

“What?” Enju had never been so surprised in her life! “HOW DARE THEY!” she screamed jumping to her feet.

“Where are you going?” Gyokuran called as she stomped off.

“To talk to Mr. Jaikuran!” she yelled back almost growling. So she left Gyokuran at the bench, in total shock.

Enju finally made it to Jaikuran’s office with his secretary filing her nails outside the door. “I need to talk to Mr. Jaikuran!”

“I’m sorry miss, but Mr. Jaikuran has asked ‘not to be disturbed’.” The secretary said in a nasally voice. But the secretary’s information didn’t stop Enju. At the same time growling, she used all her body strength to push the door open. But when the door wouldn’t give way she looked to the secretary. “The door is locked with a digital lock miss.”

“Then you’re going to open it for me!”

“I’m sorry, but Mr. Jaikuran has…” but before the woman could continue Enju had her under her spell. Enju didn’t enjoy using her telepathy on people, but she did when she felt it was necessary and now was one of those times. Under the mind control the woman walked over to the desk and pushed a button that unlocked the door.

“Thank you.” Enju said as she went into the room, releasing the secretary from her mental grasp.

“What are you doing here!” yelled the slim older man at the desk. “I thought I told Mashiran I didn’t want to be disturbed!”

“You did, but I need to talk to you about the Earth expedition. My name is Enju, one of the people scheduled to go.”

“Then I will make it aware to you that if you persist in this behavior you will be dropped from the list. Now leave, I have work to do!” the man snorted.

“I will not leave until you tell me why Gyokuran was rejected from this mission when he is the best student in the school! He is perfectly able for this assignment, so why is he not going?”

“Because my dear he is dangerous. He cannot control his psychic powers, making him a danger to the rest of the crew.” Jaikuran said rather matter-a-factually. “Besides all of the positions have been filled.”

“Then I ask that he go in my place. He has wanted to go, far more than I have.”

“But that doesn’t account for the danger he places the others in.”

“Then…then let us both go, and I will control his power for him.”

“But…” just then there was a knock at the door and young dark man walked in.

“Hello, my name is Mosotoren and I have come to decline the invitation to go on the Earth expedition. My father has just passed on and I am needed at home. Thank you for the chance though.” And then the boy left, leaving the two stunned people. Then Jaikuran turned to Enju, looking at her challengingly.

“Well it seems your friend has Sarjalim on his side, that boy was the seventh member of the crew.”

“Then can he go?” Enju’s hopes were rising.

“Yes, but you most keep your promise and control his powers. Now go! I have papers to fill out.”

** Back at the funeral **
Jinpachi finally seemed to awake from his trance and saw everyone around him, staring. Slowly he pieced together what he had just seen in his mind’s eye. “Enju-chan why did you have to love me?” he whispered to himself and then succumbed to unconsciousness.

“What happened to him?” Alice whined.

“Some how he has gained some of Enju-kun’s memories, I think.” Sakura answered. Then Rin used his psychic powers to lift Jinpachi into the air for easy transportation.

“Come on, we better get him home.”

--- Some where in space ---
Jinpachi could feel himself drift in the void of space, and yet he could breath. This obviously was a dream. So he looked around him until he saw a light come from a distance. As he watched the light he hardly noticed that he was no longer in space, but in a large room, with nothing but marble floors and columns. Still watching the light he saw it take the shape of a young looking woman, Enju.

“Are you Enju?” he questioned the girl to be sure, but then the girl moved and she was Issei. “Issei? Who are you?”

“I am Issei,” said Issei. “And I am Enju.” Said the now Enju. “We are one in the same, and you see both.”

“Where am I Enju-kun?” he asked desperately.

“Sarjalim has brought you to this dream world so I can say good-bye. She has determined that I will never live as a mortal again, but she has forgiven me. Do you forgive me Gyokuran?”

“I don’t know what to think anymore. Mokuren has found her love once more, and now you have left me forever. But I can’t blame you can I? It was my own fault that you died, I should have loved you.” Tears started streaming Jinpachi’s face. “I’m so sorry Enju, Issei I should have loved you back! I don’t want you to leave me! Please don’t leave me? You never should have died!” Jinpachi was now on his knees with his arms around the spirit’s waist, with his face in its side. “I’m so sorry! Tell Sarjalim if you come back I’ll love you! I’ll do anything to make this right! I don’t want to lose you.” Jinpachi couldn’t hold it in anymore, so he cried into his friends’ stomach, but then the spirit un-wrapped his arms from around itself as it kneeled in front of him.

“Gyokuran listen to me, listen!” it took Jinpachi’s chin to face it, now Issei. “You have no idea how long I’ve waited for you to say you would love me, but sadly it’s too late. Now I want you to do something for me.”

“I’ll do anything!” Jinpachi cried.

“Forget Mokuren, she will never love you. And release me, do not love an eternally dead person out of guilt.”

“Then why did you show me your memories from our past lives at the university?” Jinpachi angrily yelled.

“I didn’t show you them, you showed yourself with what was left of my power in your mind. The mind is a powerful thing when it is driven insane by emotion.” Enju said. “Now go, find love and happiness. If not for yourself, then for me find the two emotion’s I never felt at the same time.”

“I don’t want to leave you, what will happen when I do? Will you be happy?”

“No, but I won’t be sad either.” Issei sighed. “In this world you are derived from every emotion, except love. I will no longer be in pain, but I will no longer be joyful. It is the punishment for suicide, for giving up.” Enju then stood pulling Jinpachi up with her. “Now come my love, it is time for you to leave.” Jinpachi trembled as she walked away.

“Will I ever see you again?”

“Of course, I will be here to welcome you, every time you die. I will guide you to your next life every time. Now come,” Issei said as he pulled Jinpachi along. “…It is time for you to awaken.” Jinpachi allowed to be pulled along for a few steps. But then he stopped and using his stronger body he pulled the other boy close to him, and into a kiss. Normally kissing a boy would have been weird for Jinpachi, but he wanted to give Issei something he had always wanted. And surprisingly the kiss was good, no amazing, it felt so right and yet so painful. Finally releasing the other boy he saw the shock in the other’s eyes as he turned back into Enju. “Gyokuran?”

“I want you to know that every time I come back I will give you a kiss, no matter who you look like. I now realize that it doesn’t matter, and that I care for you. I wish I could love you romantically, but…” he saw the face of the young woman shine with a sad hope. “Just remember that when I return you will have a kiss, and maybe some day, I will join you here.”

“No!” Issei hiccuped.

“Yes, I don’t want to be reborn eternally.” He brought his hand to the face of the soul he spoke to. “I will do as you ask me, but someday will join you. Not because I feel duty to, but because I want to. Is that alright?” Jinpachi asked as Enju nodded.

“Your happiness, is my happiness my love.” and once again they kissed with the spirit changing forms periodically during it. Jinpachi then as they kissed began to feel him-self get dizzy, and then he heard the voice of his friend in his mind. ‘Good bye my love, find happiness.’ He then opened his eyes for one last look to see four red dots on the spirit’s head.

** In a small room **
“Is he coming around?” asked Alice.

“No, it just seems he is going into another dream.” Sakura answered as she dabbed at Jinpachi’s prone forehead with a cold cloth. “Pray Sarjalim is watching him.”

--- In a cloud world of Jinpachi’s dream ---
“Where am I?” Jinpachi asked as he looked around.

“You are still in a dream, but now I am controlling it.” a woman’s voice sounded.

“Who and where are you?” Jinpachi called out.

“I am Sarjalim, and I am everywhere.”

“Then why have you brought me here?”

“To tell you that your Issei, will be reborn a life after this of yours. It seems that he achieved the impossible, to feel happiness in the afterlife. And that has made him a Sarjalian, one of whom must be reborn.”

“Thank you, but I don’t love Enju-kun! What would you have me do?”

“Care for them as a friend, and show him happiness.”

** Back in the room **
Everyone was startled when Jinpachi finally groaned and came back into consciousness. But Jinpachi felt so refreshed as he sat up in a jolt and ran out of the door.

“Where is he going?” a shocked Rin asked. But then the two girls ran after him, making him even wearier.

“I guess we had better follow them.” Haruhiko said as he disappeared.

** At the grave, where the body had yet to be buried **
Jinpachi finally came to the casket and then without another thought he threw the top open to see Issei’s body. “Jinpachi what are you doing?” a voice from behind him called. But he did not hear all he could do was look at the angelic face that now bore four red dots on the forehead.

“Thank you Sarjalim!” he cried as he pulled the corpse into his arms. At that point the rest of the group joined him and gasped at the two surprising sites.

“Issei’s a Sarjalian!” gasped Haruhiko.

“No look,” Sakura pointed at Jinpachi’s forehead. “They both are.”

“They have both found true happiness. The emotion of the Sarjalian\'s.”

** In space **
As her dress and hair blew in the invisible wind Sarjalim watched the two new Sarjalians. She however was surprised when a small spirit floated over to her.

“My lady, does this mean Gyokuran loves Enju now?” asked a small voice.

“No my child, he in love Mokuren and always will be.” The soothing voice of Sarjalim answered.

“Then how is it that he feel true happiness?”

“Because there are many kinds of love.”
The End

[1] –Chan is normally an ending title, but girls will call their boyfriends and husbands “-chan”.
[2] If you are reading this you should know this, but in the Japanese version everyone calls Issei, Enju-kun (his past life name with the boy’s version of –chan).

AN: It has been brought to my attention that Gyokuran wore earrings to control his powers, well let’s just say Enju out of wariness asked Shion to make them. If this story it enjoyed enough and I get a lot of good reviews, I have ideas to continue it. And yes they are good ideas! So please let me know if you think I should write of what happens to our two lonely souls.
