Cerena nestled deep into her blankets, the soft sound of her brother pacing through the den seeping through the floor of her upper room. She sighed when the heard the distinct, yet silent noise of the front door opening, a low, hushed voice addressing her elder. She couldn\'t stop a smile when she heard the two retreat towards Allen\'s room.
She silently rose, shedding her nightgown and slipping herself into an old outfit that her brother had worn, this one far more comfortable for escaping the house than the dresses that Allen had bought for her. She opened her windows and climbed down with all the prowess of a child accustomed to getting into mischief.
She fled along the grounds, the warm, moist air that drifted in from the not to far off sea wrapping around her as she silently laughed in glee as she ran to the glen she remembered playing with Allen in. She stopped only when she was free of the trees and the view of the house, tilting her head back to gaze at the stars.
\"I was wondering when you would come...\"
Cerena turned, smiling at the cat, which sat lightly flicking her tail as she perched on a boulder.
\"Have you been waiting long?\" Cerena murmured, walking across the grass to look into the blue eyes of her friend.
\"Not really...\" Merle whispered, slipping her arms around Cerena\'s shoulders, nuzzling the pale cheek before lightly kissing her.
She purred softly as Cerena wrapped her arms around her waist, her tongue licking at Cerena\'s lips. Her tail lightly stroked against Cerena\'s arms as she felt the taller girl pull her fully into her arms and off the ground. She wrapped her legs around the slender yet muscled waist and sifted her fingers into the silver-blonde locks.
\"Cerena...\" Merle murmured as she was carefully lowered to the ground, her back touching the soft grass. She smiled up at the taller girl and opened her arms when she felt Cerena settle above her, straddling her thigh.

\"You took longer than before...\" Van said softly, a happy thread to his voice.
\"So? I didn\'t want her to forget...\" Merle retorted, walking back to the hidden carriage with her lord.
\"I doubt she will...\" Said Van, his own eyes drifting the the dully lit window in Allen\'s house, two figures sending him a gesture of love as the carriage began to draw away. \"I sincerely doubt that...\"
