Someone Will Cry

-X 13-

KUSANAGI
The answer to \"Why is it wrong to kill human beings?\"
is \"because someone will cry for them\" like this.

KUSANAGI
Even if you don\'t know the person who died or where or when he died,
if someone was killed by another person somewhere unexpectedly,
won\'t you feel like crying?

YUZURIHA
... Yes.

KUSANAGI
Nobody dies unmourned.
Whether it was an acquaintance or a stranger, someone will feel sorrow.

Silence.

She nevealiealized just how much she disliked silence until now, sitting within the dark husk of BEAST in the total silence. It was also dark, which in a way made it worse. She hated the dark silence and with a part angered, part aggrieved snarl she ripped the goggles away from her eyes and threw them away from her, pushing herself out of the seat, leaping from the dark looming husk. As her feet hit the floor she almost felt phantom arms catch her to steady her on her feet. Shaking her head roughly she stumbled away from the large inert computer for a moment before sinking down to sit on the floor of the large room, her thoughts running to how today had begun.

It had been the Final Day.. she and Yuuto had been fighting against the Monk and the former Shrine Maiden together in tandem. Everything seemed to have worked off to a perfect balance, whenever the maiden drew to close to the water caster, BEAST gave her a reminwhy why that wasn\'t a very wise idea. Whenever the monk with his sparky nature got a little close to the wires that were attacking the maiden, Yuuto distracted him, luring him away from them and provoking him into spending his temper and power elsewhere besides on BEAST and her.

Then the other had shown up, the fire starter. She threw the balance completely off. Suddenly instead of merely having to worry about his rival dragon and his ally.. he had to split his attention in three directions. It was bound to have ended in disaster she should have realized that then..

The balance unraveled painfully slow as the pryo joined into the fight, distracting Yuuto enough that the monk left him alone to rejoin the former shrine maiden. Yuuto had apparently noticed the build up of electricity behind him that the monk was causing before she had. Moving with an almost liquid grace to turn away from the fire starter and towards the other two seals, the whip snaking outh ath a blinding speed to sting the monk and gain his attention long enough for her to retreat far enough away so as not to be in danger of the overabundant electricity. However he was soon caught up defending himself against the fiery Seal, leaving the monk up to his own devices once more.

The attack that had ended everything had come out of nowhere it seemed, she still couldn\'t figure out how everything went so wrong so fast. She had attacked the sword wielding Seal, the monk moving to counter it, and then Yuuto was there, between her and him, between the monk and the maiden, the sound of a whip cracking, then silence.

She recalled the color of crimson as it bloomed over the soft eggshell white of Yuuto\'s trench as the sword came through it. A soft sound escaping her as the sound of the bladed hilts of his twin whips once more hit the broken ground in her memory. The silver blade leaving the same way it came to allow the blonde to collapse to the ground, eyes closing before the body actually hit the pavement. She had blindly gone after the ebony haired Seal then, ignoring the monk in her rage.

Which had been her undoing, and BEAST\'s demise. She wished now the supercomputer hadn\'t disconnected with her at that last final attack, she would have died with it, she should have died with it, given the amount of electricity the monk shoved the the wires and into BEAST. She lifted her head and looked back at the dark husk that was the only thing left of her friend, sighing softly. She felt something wet slide down her face as she looked away and moved to stand, one of her hands lifting to touch it before drawing back for her to look down at the wetness on the tips of her fingers.

Tears.

She was crying.. but why?

\"...because someone will cry.\"

She looked around the empty room at the phrase before realizing it was a memory reminding her and finally bringing home the truth of the answer thatto hto had given her during one day after a fight with a different younger seal.

\"What do you think, Yuuto-san? Why is it \'wrong to kill humans\'?\"

\"That is because \'someone will cry\' .\"

A/N:

I have seen two different translations of Yuuto\'s answer to Satsuki on her question to Yuzu. I chose the one I did over the other (\"someone will be sad.\") due to the fact it fit what I was trying to attempt with the ficy.
