Disclaimer:
I do not own Sailor Moon, nor any of the characters from it. I do not make any money from the writing of this story.
Aurorean Tales
Author Notes:
Yes, There are elements of Sailor Moon in this fan fiction... However, this can also work as a completely stand-alone fan fiction that has nearly no or very little ties to the Sailor Moon universe.
I am only using the idea of Sailor Warriors (aka magical girls in sailor suits), the ability to transform... and of course, evil beings that suck out energy and life.
I am not sure if this should be put in the Sailor Moon section or not though.
Because none of the original characters will be in this fan fiction... expect for only a few passing mentions. This is a story about a home world that is located in a completely different galaxy than the one Earth is located in.
The timeline is way before there was even a shred of technology on Earth... everyone on earth is in the timeline when the Greek empire still existed.
This takes place on a planet that is called Aurora... a place that might seem like a strange resemble to present-day Earth in terms of technology, although due to the resources and the way of life... it will definably be way different than Earth.
This is a tale of a planet on the very edge of death. A tale of a dysfunctional royal family. This is a tale of lost love, murder, and the lust for power. There will be also being Revenge and betrayals going on within the Royal Family.
There will be mentions of Homosexuality and Adultery even though that may or may not happen... so if that is not your thing, or you might get offended easily...
Then you better get out of here.
Oh By the way... there will be some people speaking in the alien tongue of the planet. So translations to English will be done in brackets like those: [[]] or {{}}
Enjoy the story.

Chapter 1: The Struggle for Power.
It was a typical Aurorean evening, with the glowing reddish-pink sunset disappearing off into the horizon.
It appeared to be bright as day, with seven bright full moons hanging in the sky at various places.
They lit the whole sky up, giving it that same color as it was during the day; a bright mauve color. However, there was hints of it had been turning darker, giving off to a dark purplish shade... so it was slowly becoming night.
The bigger moons were already in the process of moving across the sky to disappear along with the vanishing sunset.
The golden grassy ground gave off a sweet smell as the warm winds blew across the tall stalks, signaling the coming of summer.
The trees were already white and blooming, earning the admiration of all who looked at the trees.
On evenings like that, everyone seemed to be content, at peace. All but one.
In a very nice-looking bedroom suite in the golden palace, a young girl evidently was throwing a fit. She was screaming, picking up anything that she could lift. She then threw them against the golden walls, against the mirrors. They of course shattered.
She was now glistening with sweat, and she was short of breath. However, she was still angry and hurt.
So she was not done venting all her anger yet, so she went to work on knocking over the bigger things that she could not pick up, much less lift. In the process, her silken informal, traditional dress started to show signs of being damaged, but she was beyond caring on how she looked. In fact, her long brown hair was now unkempt and very much out of place. The longer strands even dangled over parts of her face. Keeping half of her face hidden.
This resulted in her looking like a lunatic that was out of place in a bedroom that would have been fit for a king, rather than a proper princess. Which she just happened to be, despite appearances?
The enraged princess had now overturned everything, save for the bed.
All her anger gone, she was now simply just depressed.
She threw herself on the bed, and then started sobbing hysterically.
\"It\'s not fair. I worked so hard at my studies...\" She said to herself between sobs, \"I am the best warrior on this planet. I am the cleverest of them all. I am the most rational one compared to the rest of my family. Why did they choose HIM over me?! \"
She then squeezed one of her pillows, hugging it tightly to her chest. \"Why cannot I be a Sailor Warrior, and the ruler of this planet? I am much more qualified over my stupid sibling... He does not even take anything seriously, expect for shopping. Not to mention he has those stupid ideals about peace, and at a time like this! What with the Sailor Planetary Wars...The Dark Forces are coming this way soon...
They had to give the title of Sailor Aurora to my wimp of a Brother! With him in command, our home world is bound to be doomed! To top it off, aren\'t Sailor Warriors supposed to be only for females?! How can everyone be so stupid?! \"
She ranted, venting all her despair as her fits pounded into the pillows.
With that, she cried even more... her pride injured for the very first time in her life. Her cries started to become loud wails, and she did not even care if anybody heard her now.
There was somebody listening to all the noise going on in the next room. It was the mother, the Empress of the planet Aurora.
The Empress sighed, as she looked over at her husband.
\"Poor Aurelia. She is taking it very hard. I am almost regretting our decision in making Parie the next heir to the throne, and also bestowing on him the powers to defend this planet.\" The Empress said, in the native tongue.
The Emperor, who had been trying very hard to ignore the racket he nhe next room by reading his favorite book, put it down.
\"Karee, you know this is for the best. \" The Emperor replied in the same language as he sighed a little, \"Granted, Aurelia had been training very hard all her life for this, and even had her heart set on this. However, she is not qualified, much as I hate to say it. She has completely lost sight of what is really important and best for this planet, and that is the top priority of being a ruler. She has gotten so obsessed with being the most powerful and the strongest.... surely you have noticed that?\"
\"Well, I have noticed that she has become ruthless. In fact, a week ago before we were to announce our decision on the matter, she nearly killed her own teacher... and it was only supposed to be a friendly sparring match. Because of that bloodlust in her eyes, and the way she took it too far.... Well, that was why I had to agree with you and make Parie the next heir and the very first Sailor Warrior of this planet. Even if he is only 14 years old; whereas Aurelia is much older and wiser. \" The Empress confessed, deep sorrow evident in her voice.
The Emperor sighed. He knew that his wife favored their oldest child, for some reason. He had his suspicions why, due to the rumors... but far as he was concerned, all of them were family and they all had their responsibilities to carry out... rumors like that did not matter. However, it was still so odd how his wife was so deeply affectionate towards Aurelia... Not even acting like a true Aurorean woman at times.
The same went for Aurelia...in fact, she did not even look like a Aurorean native... she looked more like those earthlings and the inhabitants of their moon, which might account for the rumors of his wife having an affair with that ambassador from Earth all those years ago. In addition, the way Aurelia often behaved, it surely did not help dispel the rumors any.
That had been one of his own reasons why he had chosen their youngest son over their daughter, even if her gender would have made her the better Sailor Warrior. If the citizens of his kingdom thought so lowly of their own princess, to keep on spreading rumors of her on a regular with so little respect, how would he expect them to listen and obey their new ruler if it was going to Aurelia?
===================
That night, everyone was sleeping in the palaces save for the few guards and a certain brown-haired girl named Aurelia.
After she had stopped crying, having run out of tears and feelings; She had made up her own mind to take matters into her own hands. After all, She had trained all her life for this very moment...she was not going to let her own parents\' poorly made decision stop her now from finally reaching her life\'s goal... to become the very first Sailor Warrior of her home world.
But to do that she had to steal The Aurorean Hari, (also known as the Aurora Crystal), from her brother. Although that alone might not be enough. If the Hari and her brother fused together to share their life force power, she might also have to rob his brother\'s life force, and absorb it into herself.
She did not know if it was going to outright kill her own brother, but she did not care. That young brat did not deserve the power, and to top it off he was MALE. The honor of being a Sailor Warrior should not go to a male. That was like breaking the biggest rule about being a Sailor Warrior.
The power and honor belonged to her. She completely deserved it, with all the endless hours of sweating, laboring and perfecting her skills that she had been doing for nearly half of her lifetime so far.
Parie, on the other hand... choose to completely disregarded all the traditions of their people, by NOT partaking of all defense and battle studies. Falling asleep in all classes expect for art and reading, which a prince should not do in the first place. He acted like some ignorant common peasant that cared about nothing expect shopping, philosophizing about ideals of a society and peace.
He was often clumsy, often seen falling flat on his face. He was also overly innocent, always eager to be friendly with compete strangers on the street. He was also too open with his emotions, which would be dangerous for a prince in certain situations.
He was a compete disgrace to the royal family, in Aurelia\'s opinion.
She was now redressed in newer clothing, and she stretched her body. She was now ready to go to take what was rightfully hers; the sky was now dark enough for there to be darkness and shadows throughout the Palace.
She walked out of her bedroom, and the guards at her door moved to go with her.
However, she halted them and told them that it would not be necessary; she was merely going for a walk though the palace. There would be other guards at the other posts, after all.
The guards looked unsure, but they did not question her and went back to their posts.
There was a define advantage to being a princess; they dare not go against her wishes.
However... she did not want to leave out too much in the open; It might point back to her if she was seen walking in the direction of Paire\'s room. It would certainly look strange, especially if Parie died for no apparent reason at all.
She did not want to look even more unsavory in a bad light, as seeing there was enough rumors out about her. What with the damned media and the local maids\' gossip spreading all over to every corners of the planet. As if she was possibly, the bastard child of some affair her own mother might not or might had. She hated that rumor; it pitted some people who were into that completely pure wholesome family thing against her. In addition, it was not as if she asked it to happen, true or not regardless.
She walked closely to the walls, ducking behind the pillars into the shadows whenever guards and other night staff of the palace walked by. Simple as it were, she found that it was rather effective in hiding herself that way. Most of them did not even notice as seeing they were too preoccupied with things such as talking to their walking companion, or wrestling with their difficult tasks such as carrying a heavy load of laundry.
It also helped that she walked quietly as possibly, so that she did not make a sound at all. She walked along with a black cloak that had a hood, so that she appeared to only merely be one of the Empress\' ladies-in-waiting, should somebody catch a glimpse of her. The Empress often had a lot of trained and refined women to help her with many minor things such as keeping track of things to do for the day, or just merely getting her ready for the day. It was not usual for the Empress\'s favorites to live at the Palace in one of many bedrooms, and take the occasional nightly walk for them to relax.
She just had to keep her face hidden, and nobody would suspect her.
\"Vey de Ar\'eye! Lea ki de da Oa\'aye? [[ Hey you there! What are you doing here?]] \" A commanding male voice called out, clearly addressing Aurelia. It took on an edge of a annoying tone, as it went on in the typical Aurorean tongue: \"Da wol\'id seru bako isa Ur\'aie, ow to segumento ki rudo. [[ You should had benfornformed that, this section is restricted.]]\"
Aurelia twitched, annoyed at being addressed to in such a manner. In that moment, she had almost forgotten that she was undercover, but she quickly regained her composure and turned to face the person who had halted her.
It turned out to be the Royal General, who were the commanding officer of both the fifth section of the royal army AND the guard officers. He was a good-looking man. Handsome enough that every maiden was often seen giggling like idiotic schoolchildren and batting their eyes at him. However, currently he just looked completely worn out, what with the dark circles under his eyes, and his hair out of place. In other words, he did not look like he was in a good mood.
Aurelia then deiced to lower her hood down this once, so that the suspicious general would be sent on his very quickly.
The General quickly lost his moody attitude once he saw who it was, and before he could ask why Aurelia were so far from her bedroom at this hour, Aurelia answered that question for him.
\"Ha kunno biea, ah ha kush Ur\'aie ha Wol\'id jae i wai. [[ I could not sleep, so I decided that I should take a walk.]]\" Aurelia replied.
She sighed, and then told the general to go to take some rest in his quarters, that he should have some time off. After all, it was unhealthy to worry about the Kingdom\'s security all the time.
He looked at her strangely, as if he somehow knew that there was something going on with Aurelia. In fact, his strange expression seemed almost akin to that of an expression from somebody who was suspicious.
Nevertheless, he seemed to shrug off his thoughts, and agreed. He called for more guards to patrol in this section, and with that he left.
In addition, Aurelia was finally walking to the bedroom.
She found that getting inside the bedroom was going to be another story entirely, because there was yet ANOTHER annoying creature in her way.
There was a mostly black dog with a moon mark on its forehead standing guard outside the door. Aurelia recognized the dog as being the resident ambassador and the new guardian of Aurora sent directly from the Planet Wan. It was a part of the Planetary Alliance Policy...That the intelligent animals with their unusual energy was to be guardians to certain Sailor Warriors, but Aurora had no animals that could talk, much less think like any humanoid beings could.
So therefore the residents of the Planet Wan, (mostly all dogs), agreed to send one of their best to work with Planet Aurora\'s first Sailor warrior... when the Planet Mau had simply said that they needed all residents on hand to help with the Sailor War crisis. This was too bad, since Aurelia thought that having a Guardian Cat would be better than a Guardian Dog. After all, weren\'t cats smarter than dogs?
The dog eyed the girl suspiciously, but then remarked in the common tongue: \"You\'re Princess Aurelia, I take it? May I ask why you are coming to see the Prince so late at this hour?\"
Aurelia smiled. It looked like she might have to try getting past the guardian with some flattery. If that did not work... Well, she might have to knock her out. \"May I say it\'s a pleasure to meet you at last, Gypsy Moon? I have heard of your excellent background... it is such a pity that you are not my guardian. Did you know that I was originally supposed to be the new Sailor Warrior? \"
The dog was still staring at her suspiciously, but she nodded. \"Indeed, I have heard about that. You are a very impressive warrior from what I hear. However, you have not answered my question--why are you here so late at night? The Prince does need his rest for tomorrow morning when he trains to get used to his new powers. \"
\"What, you think it\'s so strange for a sister to visit her brother? I just wanted to check him and maybe congratulate him on the honor of becoming a Sailor Warrior.\"
\"Well, you better do it in the morning then. \"
Aurelia sighed then. Why did everything have to always be so damn difficult?
\"Well, then in that case... \" Aurelia said, acting like she was about to comply and do as the dog said, but in one swift movement she pulled out something and threw it directly in the dog\'s face, where it exploded. A gassy substance engulfed the dog, and then moments later, the dog was out cold.
Smirking, she kicked the dog aside and opened the door.
After having stepped inside, she closed the door so that nobody outside would realize that somebody was in there at the same time as Prince Parie.
She walked up to the bed where the young prince was now sleeping very soundly.
He was smiling innocently in his sleep, with his purple curls spreading out around on the pillow looking almost like a halo. Any women, or men with soft spots for the innocent-looking, sleeping youth would had melted at the sight of that. But not Aurelia, she had seen him sleep excessively many times to care about how he looked, and whenever he looked adorable or not.
Around his neck was a string that also held a glowing crystal that almost seemed to light up the area around the bed.
Aurelia grinned. It was more beautiful than she thought it would be... and it was obviously just like everyone said that it was, immensely powerful. This was in the hands of a clumsy 13-years-old boy, who did not even know how to use that kind of power properly?
Knowing him, he would probably just use the power to stifle every thought the people ever had, so that they could not think for themselves. Then afterwards he would probably just do nothing but do that idiotic shopping hobby of his... and maybe be with his rumored mystery boyfriend.
She let out a snort, disgusted at the very thought she was having. She then walked around to the side of the bed, to reach for the Aurorean Hari. She was able to take it without any problems... conside tha that her brother was a very sound sleeper.
However, as she had feared, half of the power was already gone from the crystal when she used her extra senses to inspect it.
The Hari had already bonded with her brother. Therefore, she could not use it properly, and use its full power, unless she was to absorb some of her brother\'s life force. It was just as she thought. Nothing good in life came so easily.
Just as she was getting ready to go into the process of robbing hife ife force, Parie woke up.
He only saw a stranger hidden in shadows, seeming to hatoletolen his new Hari. Not realizing that it was only his sister, he screamed for the guards.
\"Aie! Plio!!! {{Help! Guards!!!}}\" He shrieked.
In a flash Aurelia was on him, making an effort to silence him as she hurriedly tried to start up the life force robbing process.
However, she heard loud footsteps coming their way, so she was forced to punch her brother, knocking him out.
She then quickly ran out into the window balcony with her brother in her arms.
With some skill, she jumped down off the balcony (which was two stories above the ground). She ran off into the garden labyrinth which her brother often liked to go to wander in.
It would take the guards some time to go though the maze, looking for their missing prince. Aurelia was well familiar with this labyrinth, so it did not take her very long to get to the centeo noo now she had enough time to take her brother\'s life force...then she would leave him here in the garden labyrinth for the guards to find, and she would be long gone and back in her bedroom by then.
She did not have to worry about the dog being a witness, the gas she had thrown into the dog\'s face was not just a sleeping gas, it also had properties to alter memories and make people forget.
They would never suspect her, for she would keep the Aurorean Hari well hidden.
Parie regained consciousness, and were momentary confused when he realized that his own sister was carrying him outside. When he saw the Aurorean Hari around her neck, he quickly realized that his own sister was the thief, the one that had attacked him.
His eyes seemed to reflect the hurt he felt from this kind of betrayal; but that was soon replaced by fear when Aurelia then started pinning him down on the ground so that he could not get away.
She began the process. Focusing her energy through her body, she laid her hand on her brother\'s head and began a conflict of wills. Her brother\'s mind fought back hard, and Aurelia was sent reeling to begin with.
Blow after mental blow struck at Aurelia\'s unready mind, constantly sending her farther and further out of Parie\'s head.
However, slowly Aurelia fought back, her will struggling to assert control over her brother\'s life force.
The young prince fought hard, and it was a stalemate for a time, each trying to find a flaw in the other\'s mental defense. Aurelia had clearly underestimated her brother. He was stronger than she thought. During this stalemate, unknown to Aurelia, was that Parie had found the weakness he had been looking for, and struck.
Aurelia\'s mind burned with the pain of the blow, almost completely expelled from her brother\'s head, before her restraint snapped.
She went into a mental berserker rage, hitting back against her brother with such ferocity that the prince had no chance of stopping her. She struck as as as she could at the defenses of her brother\'s mind, and without realizing it she was screaming verbally as well as mentally, her anger and lust for the crown and the power winning over her sanity.
After a short conflict, she smashed her brother\'s mental defenses apart like glass and then pounded into his mind.
He was afraid; he knew he was going to die.
Aurelia was beyond caring now, beyond reason, and she kept attacking his mind even after she had taken the life force, and the power.
Then she sensed his mind starting to fail and had to tear mentally herself out before her own mind died with his. Returning to consciousness, she saw the prince\'s cold, dead body lie next to her, and she grinned, before making her way from the labyrinth. She would never be found out! She had WON!
When the guards arrived at the center of the labyrinth, Parie\'s body was left lying on the ground, clearly dead.
The Royal General rushed towards the scene, only to find that he had came too late. He had only heard of the attack on the young prince, and wasted no time in running out the door when he heard that some unknown person was threatening Parie.
The General stared at the body on the ground as if he could not believe that the prince were clearly dead, and with trembling hands he kneeled to touch the prince\'s face and hands.
When he felt the cold skin against his hands, he started crying uncontrollably, much to the alarm of the guards.
The General then scooped the corpse into his arms, cradling it in his arms lovingly as he continued to cry.
To anybody witnessing this, it were very clear that the general had felt very strongly for the young prince; perhaps were very close to him too.
A few minutes, he regained his senses. Now back on his feet with the prince\'s corpse still in his arms, he told guards to search the castle, if they had not already... for anybody suspicious. He also told them to check all the other royal members, to see if there had been any other attempts on them too, and to report to him.
They went to check if Aurelia had been harmed as well, they found everything in Aurelia\'s room destroyed, but Aurelia herself were fine, and she was sleeping on a sofa that had not been damaged.
Days passed by, and everyone mourned for the royal family\'s loss, but everyone quickly moved on just as fast.
After all, everyone assumed that it was an assassination; and that was nothing new. Politics could often get very nasty, especially among the nobles and members of the royal family.
However, nobody really cared about that right now, for they had other things on their mind. The Sailor Wars were now getting out of hand, and it seemed as The Dark Forces was heading their way.
With the Aurorean Hari seemingly now gone with the young prince\'s life, everyone knew that it was going to be the end of it all. Unless they found a way to fight back against The Dark force\'s wrath...
