The dark city slept peacefully under the bloody moon. Well, almost peacefully… hunters were out, hunting for those that are a great threat to this world, the vampires. There were shrieks from vampires and ghouls who were shot through with silver tipped bullets. The hunters could kill all night and sleep during the day as vampires. Only one hunter slept for an hour or two.

Arthur Hellsing hunted his prey down stealthily and without fear; he was only feared. He showed no mercy or emotions to anyone. Anyone except his daughter, who was safe at home, for now at least.

The small blonde stared at the blood red moon. Her father was out, she knew that, but she didn’t know what he was doing. The butler of this dull mansion, Walter, had told her she was too young to know. She pouted, remembering that was what everyone told her when she asked.

“I am not young,” the blonde muttered. “I’m five.”

Her icy blue eyes stared at the far city. Integral Fairbrook Wingates Hellsing wished to leave this bloody mansion and explore, but all of her attempts were ruined by Walter. Integra was sitting upon her window seat in a silky silver nightgown with her chin resting on her palm. She turned her head back to the dark room. Her king sized canopy was filled with dolls, fluffed pillows, and warm quilts and painted red from the moonlight shinning upon it. She shivered and closed her French windows.

Integra stifled a yawn and crawled into bed. She stared at the top of her bed and sighed. Ever since her mother died, her father spent lesser time with her.

‘Why won’t daddy play with me?’ she thought with a sniffle. ‘Did I do something? Am I the reason mummy died?’ she sighed and pulled the covers to her chin. She closed her eyes and started to drift asleep.

When a crack and a gust of cold wind reached her, she shivered herself back awake. Sitting up and rubbing the sleep from her eyes, Integra saw her windows open. She blinked in confusion. ‘Hadn’t I closed that?’

She hoped out of her bed and pulled it closed. She raised her small hand in order to muffle another yawn. Integra’s nose wrinkled when a heavy scent of metallic reached it. She stared at her hand, it was wet and red.

‘Am I bleeding?’ she wondered. She looked down at the window and the seat, they were wet with blood.

Her eyes followed the small dark red puddles. She squinted at the slightly moving shadows. Curious, she slowly stepped off the seat and followed the puddles. She gasped and froze when she heard a low growl. Eight bright red eyes glared at her.

You smell like a Hellsing,’ a deep voice whispered in her head.

“Arthur Hellsing is my daddy,” she said.

Of course. You look like his wife,’ the voice growled.

“Are you speaking to me?” Integra watched the eyes move up and down. “Can you come out?” she whispered.

She squealed at the sight of the furry black dog coming into the light. Its floppy ears twitched.

Be quiet!’ it growled.

Her small hands covered her mouth, then immediately left. She had forgotten the blood on her hand.

Come here child,’ the dog purred.

Integra kneeled in front of him and nearly giggled when its tongue licked the blood off of her face. It sniffed her face and rested its head on her lap.

“You’re a vampire aren’t you?” she asked.

The dog stiffened and nodded his head. She giggled and petted him. “I won’t tell daddy. You’re too cute to kill.”

All eyes stared up at her in confusion. ‘Cute?’ Integra nodded and kissed his forehead.

“What happened to you?” she asked, seeing several bullets in his side.

A hunter, your father, shot me,’ it growled.

‘So that’s what father’s been doing,’ she was a bit happy she didn’t know that till now. Integra place his head on the floor and ran to her bathroom. She heard it whine when she set him down. She grabbed two small towels and wetted one before returning to him.

What are you doing?’ he asked.

“Helping,” she smiled and squeezed the lukewarm water out of the towel onto the bullets.

The dog nearly bit her arm off when she did that. Integra’s small fingers began to easily pull the bullets out. Once all nine were out, the wounds closed and the vampire licked her hand free of blood just as he had done with her face.

“What familiar’s form have you taken?” Integra asked putting the towels in the hamper.

A hell hound,’ he sighed. A pregnant pause lasted between them. ‘Why?

“Because I was curious,” she replied brushing through his fur with her fingers.

No, no, why did you take them out?’ he asked rolling onto his back.

“I may not be a merciless person like daddy, but I am a merciful helper like mummy,” she answered scratching his belly and watching him try to roll away.

Helper, yes, she loved helping others,’ he growled. ‘Will you desist this irritating scratching child!?

Integra giggled and obliged. “My name’s Integra,” she said while trying to stop another yawn.

She stared with amazement as the hellhound changed into a man in a white collared shirt, black leather pants, and brown leather boots. His wavy black shoulder length hair covered his eyes as he knelt down a bit above her level.

“Alucard,” He whispered looking at her through his glowing ruby eyes.

Integra stood and brushed the hair out of his eyes.

“You’re so much like her…” he whispered cupping her round baby face and rubbing small light circles on her cheek bones. “So much like Anna.”

“That’s what everyone tells me,” she spat.

“Why do you not like it?” he asked.

“I want people to see me,” she sounded like someone who was tired of standing in their superior twin’s shadow. “Is that all others see when they look at me? Is that why daddy never plays with me anymore? Because I look like her?” angry tears made rivers down her cheeks.

“I see more,” Alucard soothed. Integra sniffled. “I see-“

“Count!”

Both heads turned to the new voice and light. Arthur stood at the door. In his eyes, he saw something else. Alucard stood and glared at Arthur.

“You damned vampire!” he growled.

“Daddy-“ Integra cringed when he cut her off.

“Go to Walter Integra.”

Integra nodded and hurriedly ran out the room. Once she was doors away, she looked back.

Don’t worry little one, we’ll meet again,’ Alucard purred in her mind.

Integra whispered an “Okay,” and ran straight into Walter.

“Miss Hellsing,” he began.

Integra hugged his knees tight as if it was her lifeline. “What is daddy going to do to Alucard?” She heard Walter sigh and felt him brush her hair.

“You’re too young,” he stated.

‘There are those stupid words again,’ she thought bitterly.

Integra let go and walked off with her head hung low. She knew what was to happen to Alucard. He was to die that’s what was to happen.

She walked down the steps to the room where her mother’s belongings were, she never noticed the red eyes on the wall glowing mischievously at her.

“Leave the girl alone Alucard,” Walter said sensing the vampire’s presence.

The red eyes shifted to the butler’s back. Alucard’s upper body then stuck out the wall. His cheshire grin would make anyone shudder from how creepy it looked.

“Why? She seems as fun to tease as her mother,” Alucard purred.

Walter turned his head to glare at him. “That is the reason why Anna is dead.”

“Come now Angel of Death, can’t I have a little fun? I’ve been locked up for two years, I’m free again, free to do what I want.” Alucard smirked at Walter’s expression. It had been shock for a second, then back to the glare.

“So, you broke the bonds that Sir Hellsing had on you,” Walter stated.

“Indeed. And the child’s soul, it is already crying. She is too young for her soul to cry,” Alucard’s smirk widened. “Which means when she is older, she’ll be far more fun to tease.”

“That will happen, if you actually don’t get caught,” Walter said.

“Yes Angel, if!” Alucard laughed. “Arthur is and excellent hunter, he might or might not catch me.”

“Who said anything about Sir Hellsing?” Walter asked.

Wires wrapped themselves around Alucard’s neck. Alucard burst out laughing.

“You think these wires can kill me?!” He asked.

“I never intended to kill you.” Walter informed.

The wires glowed white and Alucard’s eyes widened. “How did…”

“An old friend of mine, a white witch, she told me this was to happen. She filled these wires with magic to hold and drain your dark powers.”

Alucard growled as he pulled at the tight white hot wires and fell out the wall. “This magic dates back long before you became an undead.” Walter yanked the wires and Alucard was dragged to the heel of his boots.

“I’m sorry Alucard, but this is for the safety of Integra,” Walter whispered.

Alucard’s growl grew so loud it could’ve shaken the mansion. Arthur Hellsing and other hunters approached the both of them.

Arthur stood in front of Alucard after Walter had side stepped. Arthur’s eyes were full of despise.

“Count,” Arthur snapped.

“Arthur,” Alucard snapped back. Alucard turned his head to where Integra had walk down minutes ago. “Your daughter will make a fine bride one day.”

Arthur’s eyes narrowed dangerously. “Yes, she will, but not yours.”

Alucard chuckled. “How to you know?”

Arthur stomped on his fingers and broke a few. Alucard grunted. Both glared daggers at each other till Arthur turned his gaze and snapped his fingers.

“Walter, take this, dark one, to the dungeon and be sure make the wires tight on him.” He walked to where his daughter went leaving the hunters, butler, and vampire alone.

The hunters laughed as they went the opposite way of Arthur. Walter looked down at Alucard who was unusually calm. Walter shrugged and dragged the dark one to the basement and into the dungeons.

As Walter tied the glowing wires on the steel rings, he saw a mischievous expression on the vampire’s face. He knew the vampire was planning something.

“If you want to know Walter, just ask,” Alucard snickered.

Walter’s eyes narrowed. He tightened the wires even more; somehow some dark magic had seeped through. He dusted his hands off and started to leave.

“Angel, be sure to take care of Integra, I intend to break her once I free of this magic.” The door slammed shut and all the crazed vampire did, was laugh…
