Summer Vacation
A/N: This is my first fanfic! Hope you like it!

CHAPTER 1
The Invitation
Looking up at the skies, Taichi sighed for it was a hotter than yesterday.
In the park he was cooling off for it was summer time. No classes, no homework and especially no tests. He was so relieved for there would be no more detention and more time spending with his friends. Relaxation at last! But after the school year ended, he heard that almost everyone of his friends – including one of his family members, Hikari – were going somewhere else. And from what he has also heard that the only ones who aren’t going somewhere are Ken, Daisuke, Yamato and he. He was sad when he heard the news for the first time but of course he couldn’t do anything about it.
It was the beginning of their summer vacation, he thought for it might be cooler if he lied down under the shadow of a tree due to their air conditioner was broken and all they have left was a fan. He followed what was his mind was saying and did. A few hours he stayed, and then he saw an ice cream stand, he stood up and went to buy some – with Agumon following behind him. Everyone thought that he was just one prototype robot. – but when he came back to his place, it has been taken from a kid with a skateboard on his side. He sighed and looked around to look for a place he could lay or sit down. Almost all of the trees were occupied and all that has left was a bench that’ll obviously burn his butt. But he didn’t have a choice so he settled down on the bench and tried – even try to forget that the sun’s burning him - to cool off.
“Agumon, it’s just too hot… I can’t stand the heat! Oh man, I just wish it was winter time.” He said, spreading his arms on the bench and closed his eyes.
“Well… we can’t do anything about it Taichi. But besides the heat, at least we’ve cooled down a bit, right?” looking down the ground, he waited for the reply.
“Okay, maybe you’re right. Oh man… Besides the heat I’m bored just sitting here.”
“You can say that again…”
“Taichi!”
A voice was been heard, he looked at the direction where the voice has came from and saw Daisuke running towards him.
“Daisuke, what’s up??”
“Hey…” he said, catching his breath as his hands were rested on his knees that were bended. What are you doing here?”
“I thought that the park was the best place to cool down a bit. But when a stupid kid ‘stole’ my place, I have to look for another place to cool down. And because of that fucking kid I have to suffer. And besides that, it looks like this isn’t the best place after all… The sun’s killing me like I’m in an oven or something. How about you…?” Putting down his arms, he looked at the brunette who was now seated beside him. He looked at him curiously.
He raised his eyebrow and asked; “You don’t mind me sitting down beside you right?”
He suddenly replied back, “Of course not! I don’t mind!”
“Okay then,” he looked at Taichi, “What was your question again?”
Taichi sweat dropped and again repeated the question earlier. Then Daisuke answered;
“Why am I here? I was wondering how were you…”
“Well… I’m fine for the past few days… how about you, got any plans this coming days?”
Continued to talk they did and, Taichi noticed that every time he was asking a question about anything that concerns Ken, Daisuke either says he doesn’t know anything or he changes the topic quickly. Seeing thru Daisuke, he looked at him straight at his eyes and told him; “Okay…. Let’s cut to the chase, I know you’re here to talk to me about something. So what is it?”
Looking down at his hands, he sighed deeply and said, “Taichi is it okay for us to… walk and talk about it? I’m a bit… tense to talk about it and besides that… I’m not thinking right when I talk about it either if I wasn’t doing anything else.”
Bewildered, he then felt something poking him at his side. Turning, he waited for his friend to tell him what’s wrong, “Taichi, I think I should go now. Daisuke’s serious about this talk. I’ll go ahead okay?” he said softly, putting his feet at the ground, he walked, going back at home.
He looked at Agumon and again at Daisuke who’s eyes were filled with confusion. He stood and lends a hand in front of Daisuke. “C’mon Daisuke, are you up or what?” he said, smiling, Daisuke looked at him and took the hand and started to walk.

“I’m home!” shouted, Yamato took off his shoes and motioned to put at the shoe rack and walked at the kitchen to get something to drink.
“Nobody’s home? Oh yeah… I forgot, who would have guessed.”
Taking a can of soda, he thought about what happened a few moments ago.
FLASHBACK
“What do you think should I do Yamato-sempai…?” asked Ken.
Surprised, he didn’t know anything about this side of Ken. He didn’t knew that his friend has some problems when it comes to one topic that he’s really good at; Asking someone to go out with people. But there’s one thing he couldn’t believe. He’s friend here –naming Ken...! – Has a crush on Daisuke… Daisuke!!!
He closed his eyes as if trying to make sure he’s not dreaming. He opened his eyes and sighed; “Ken… Did you just say that you have a crush on DAISUKE?? I’m not against it or anything but I’m just making sure that I’m not dreaming..”
“Well… I did said that I have a crush on Daisuke”
Putting his self together he thought of what he should do and asked him first questions.
“Have you given him hints like you always want to be with him or like asking him if he has someone in mind?”
“Well… yeah… but I don’t think he did took note of that…”
“I see…” and suddenly he got an idea. Looking at Ken directly in the eyes, grinning like a Cheshire cat he said, “I’ve got an idea, let’s pretend that we’re an item…?”
Blushing fiercely, he looked down the coffee that hasn’t been touched since they have started talking.
They’re at a Coffee Shop that the name’s “Beans” and unexpectedly they saw each other.
“Well, how about it Ken??”
“I don’t know… I might even hurt someone who really likes us…”
He absentmindedly drank his coffee and looked at the window as he puts down the cup on the table.
“Okay… maybe you ARE right about that…” looking at the window, he suddenly thought about Taichi.
‘What the heck!? Why am I thinking about him???’ he thought.
“Yamato, is something wrong?” he asked.
“What?”
“Is something wrong?”
“Oh… nothing, nothing’s wrong,” he said and looked as the window. He suddenly saw a store across the street. And that store has a main theme, mainly summer season that the display outside the window is a beach. Then something clicked in his mind, he turned at Ken and said:
“Hey Ken, how about we – naming Daisuke, Taichi, You and I – go to a resort or something like, a beach house?? Maybe there you’ll know how he feels about you.”
Ken thought about it and answered, “I think it’s cool, but are you sure about that?”
“Hey, it’s better than us pretending to be an item. And besides that, I really would like to go somewhere.”
“Oh… but what about your parents, will they be okay with that?”
“Don’t worry them, I’m sure that they’ll allow me to go with you… They are worried of me getting bored doing nothing. And besides, I don’t like myself being a couch potato…”
“Oh… If you say so…”
“Yeah… well you get the picture.”
“Yeah, I get it…” drinking his coffee, he took his cellphone and called, “Hey Mom, it’s Ken… is the our beach house okay?? Yeah… I think 2 weeks would be okay… with Yamato, Taichi and Daisuke… Yeah…. Okay then… thanks mom…” putting down his phone he smiled at Yamato and said, “It’s all set… the only thing we have to do is ask Daisuke and Taichi to join us…”
Surprised, he smiled at Ken back and said, “So, all we have to do is find out if he likes you like the way you do. And by doing that we have to think of a plan…”

He sat on the couch and sighed, ‘I wonder what’s Taichi doing…’

They were scrolling along the park mindlessly but after they had ‘the talk’ Taichi’s phone rang, noticed that it was Yamato who’s talking. He was so happy about Yamato calling him in his cellphone, he missed him so much for not seeing him everyday, even now.
Going back to reality, He said that they have been invited to join them to go to Ken’s beach house and the trip’s going to tomorrow. After he hung up he said to Daisuke what was the excitement about. When he finished explaining he went in front of him and asked:
“So, are you going or not?” crossing his arms he raised his eyebrow and looked at the young brunette.
“Well…” scratching his head with confusion he looked down with a blush on his face.
“C’mon Dai, I think this is the only chance you’ll know how he feels about you.” ‘And Yamato’s too…’ he added silently. He really loved Yamato since the day where they fought the master of Picodevimon.
“But Taichi, if I told him that I love him he might hate me… what’ll happen then? I don’t know Taichi…”
“Hey…” he put his hands on Daisuke’s shoulders and looked at him with such concern in his eyes and continued, “Don’t say that… Who knows, maybe he really likes you. And if you didn’t come with us you’ll be missing a great opportunity of you knowing if he really likes you or not right? It’s not the end of the world. And you know what they say, love IS blind right?”
“Maybe you are right about that…” he thought about it and looked at Taichi and agreed that he’ll be going with them.
“Okay then!” he put down his hands and straightened up. Continuing their walk he looked at Daisuke and smirked, saying:
“Oh and Daisuke when we get there, you’ll be sleeping with Ken-chan.” He said, winking at him with a big grin on his face.
“T-Taichi!” he shouted as his face turns to red.
He laughed hysterically and continued their walk until they reached Daisuke’s home.

Next day it was and Agumon agreed to stay behind with the other Digmons who are the partners of the people who are going with him. Dressing up, he called Daisuke on the phone, scolded him – Daisuke’s always late, so Taichi made sure that he’ll not be late this time- for not getting up early and told him that he’ll be picking him up.
As he puts down the phone he swiftly picked up his bag and announced his parents that he’ll be going.
“See you for a couple of days mom, dad!”
“Take care and have fun!” said his mom, while his dad waved at him.
“Thanks! Take care too!” and left.

“Ken! Is everything you need there already?” said his mom, cleaning the table thoroughly.
“Yes…!” putting his shoes on, he opened the door and said that he’ll be going.
“See you!”

Taichi reached Daisuke’s home within twenty minutes. Knocking the door, his father opened the door and shouted, “Daisuke, Taichi’s here already!”
“Okay Dad!” his voice said.
“Well… come on in Taichi-kun” moving aside, he closed the door as Taichi went in.
“Please… sit…”
“No thank you sir…”
“Okay then, if you’re sure.” He smiled at him and sat on the couch, focusing of what he has been watching earlier.
After a few minutes, Daisuke appeared coming from his room and grinned at Taichi, evilly.
With no doubt, Daisuke’s up to something. He smirked back, letting him know that he’s in his evil plan that he was planning.
‘And from the looks of his features now, he really thought about it long and hard.’ He thought.
“Dad, we’ll be doing now okay?? Hope you’ll have a great day!” he said, motioning him and the brunette out of the house.
When they were outside, walking casually he asked, “So… what are you scheming? I just love how the way you think of a plan! It’s just like me ya know!?”
“Thanks for the compliment I guess… But are you sure you want to be in it…?”
Putting his hands back on his head he slightly turned his head and said, “ Why’s that?”
“Well…” looking down at the ground he scratched his head and blushed a little as he says, “Well… there’s a part where…”
“Where what?”
He stopped his tracks and looked at Taichi who have also stopped walking. “Well?” he gathered his courage and motioned Taichi to come near him.
“You’re…” he whispered then a car passed by with such speed.
“REALLY!” he said with such excitement he almost couldn’t stop jumping up and down.
Daisuke was surprised and confused of what reaction he saw from him. He thought that he’d be angry that he’d refuse to join the plan.
Unaware of his surroundings, he jumped up and down excited to do his part. ‘ I’m SO happy I joined this plan! Get ready you guys! I’m going to blow your minds!!!’ he said to his self with such determination and courage to do so. Suddenly without noticing, an outline of a person appeared from the other side of the road. Daisuke shouted at Taichi to stop jumping like a kid and got his attention.
Looking at the other side, Taichi then noticed who was running towards them. Running to the other side he waited for the person to reach and gave him a big goofy smile.
“Yama! I thought you’re there already!”
“Well… I got up late so what do you expect…” he said, giving him one of his genuine smiles that even the fangirls were melting like hell.
“We were just on our way to the park.” Moving aside, he let Yamato see Daisuke at the other side of the road, waving at him.
“Obviously, we’ll be going together!” he said, he held his hand and ran at the other side. As he crossed to the other side he couldn’t help feeling excited and wanted of being with Taichi.
“Let’s hurry guys, we don’t want Ken waiting for us!” said Daisuke and ran as fast as they could.
