Author’s notes: There are a few, but it seems Sai gets little to no love in fan fiction. This must stop! He is so unbelievably gorgeous, and sooo deliciously uke. I understand that most of the other characters are either underage or ugly...But where is the joy of A/U, and Xovers? This is for you Fujiwara no Sai, my favorite bishonen! ^_^

((In an attempt to hook my #1 and #4 favorite bishonen\'s together I present this fic. Hikaru no Go fans will probably see a lot doesn\'t add up, same with Inuyasha fans. That\'s okay that\'s why it\'s an A/U piece. So, for the sake of great yaoi Sesshomaru has two arms, Rin/Jaken are no where to be found, who knows if they exist; and Sesshomaru isn\'t a total ice block toward humans. I love you Fujiwara no Sai! Heh...))
CHAPTER ONE
21 May 2005, 9:43AM, SAT.
\"Who\'s that?\" Inuyasha grumped, eyeing the boy next to Kagome.
For his part, the boy was taking seeing someone with dog ears well.
\"His name is Hikaru. He goes to another school than mine. But...He can sense jewel shards.\" Kagome looked at the slightly shorter boy.
\"Nani?\" The hanyou gasped. Hikaru just smiled.
\"Yeah. One day he passed me in the city, and asked me how my necklace was glowing. Normally people can\'t see that.\"
\"But I can see ghost\'s too, so it\'s not too much of a shock.\" The boy finally spoke.
\"Who\'s that standing next to you?\" Inuyasha raised an eyebrow.
\"Huh?\" Hikaru didn\'t understand.
//Can he see Sai?//
\"I wanted to ask that too, but you never mentioned it, so I didn\'t.\" Kagome smiled warmly.
\"You all mean you can see me?\" The ghost timidly spoke, standing behind Hikaru.
\"Why couldn\'t we?\" Both Inuyasha and Kagome spoke with a shrug.
Sai covered his mouth dramatically, eyes wide. \"I...I didn\'t know that was possible.\" He stammered.
\"Kagome and Inuyasha are quite spiritually aware.\" A young monk came into view.
\"Ack...You too?\"
\"Of course. You look to be in service to some court...\"
\"Uh, well, I u-use to be.\" He hid shyly behind his sleeve. \"My name is Fujiwara no Sai.\"
\"I am Miroku, pleased to meet you. You are a ghost, ne?\" He raised a brow.
Sai nodded. Hikaru was so lost in the fact that someone else was talking to Sai, that he didn\'t notice how quiet he\'d become.
\"May I ask how you died?\"
\"Um...It\'s s-stupid, really...\" The ghost tried to look away. He didn\'t want the first people to hear him since Hikaru to think anything bad of him.
\"C\'mon, it can\'t be that bad.\" Inuyasha was curious too.
\"I drowned myself.\" Sai looked down. Everyone was silent.
\"So...Kagome! Where was this village Go parlor at?\" Hikaru ended the awkward moment.
\"R-right. Come this way.\" The little group started to walk off.
For the first time in a thousand years Sai felt self conscious, as he knew everyone was staring at him.

Before they reached the village, Inuyasha stood and held his arm out. Everyone stopped.
\"Trouble...\" The hanyou smelt the air in canine fashion.
Before anyone could ask another question a huge two headed dragon landed before them. Hikaru and Sai starred in shock/amazement.
\"Sesshomaru, what do you want?!\" Inuyasha grabbed his sword. Causing Hikaru and Sai to stare again, as it transformed in a flash of yellow energy. They looked at each other with the same expression, before focusing back on the dragon.
\"Why little brother...Is that any way to greet someone?\" The tall, slender youkai dismounted the creature. Silver hair blowing in the wind.
\"Shut up! Why don\'t you just get back on that ugly thing and leave?\" The hanyou glared, baring his fangs slightly.
\"I was simply passing by and-\" Sesshomaru stopped cold when his eyes met Sai, who fidgeted nervously under the gaze.
//Is that...Him?//
The youkai blinked in confusion. \"Boy, why does this spirit seem to be linked to you?\" His cold gold eyes now aimed at Hikaru.
\"Uh, um...I found an old Go board his spirit was locked in. So...He kind of follows me now.\" Hikaru was very nervous, a little scared.
Sesshomaru began to unsheathe Tenseiga.
\"Hold on!\" Inuyasha was about to attack but Sesshomaru held up his hand.
\"Wait. You, spirit...Do you wish to be free, to live again?\" Sesshomaru\'s eyes softened slightly as they focused on Sai.
The ghost opened his mouth to speak, but nothing would come out. //What?!//
\"Y-you can do that?\" Hikaru looked overjoyed.
\"Yes, this sword can break spiritual bonds and restore life. Do you wish for me to use it?\" Sesshomaru kept his eyes on Sai, almost begging.
\"You have to Sai, this is your chance! Don\'t you want to have your own life again?\" Hikaru smiled wide at the silent ghost.
Kagome and Inuyasha gave each other confused looks.
\"I...I...\" He couldn\'t find words. \"Yes.\" He managed to get out, hoping this wasn\'t just a cruel joke, or an attempt to hurt Hikaru.
\"It is done then.\" The youkai held the sword high and before anyone noticed he sliced the air between Hikaru and Sai. No one moved, nothing happened, then Sai fell to the ground.
\"Sai?!\" Hikaru looked over, but was shocked when he seen a body laying there. It was his ghost friend but in physical form.
Sesshomaru stepped over the sprawled out body and slashed the air one more time. This time a small sizzle noise was heard and Sai began to cough up water.
\"Oh my...\" Kagome sighed at the sight.
Sai slowly sat up and shook his head. Then suddenly grabbed his face with both hands.
\'I..I\'m...\" Tears began to well up in the sparkling dark eyes. \"I\'m alive...\" The last part was but a whisper, then he broke down into a series of sobs, hugging his knees.
\"Your alive!\" Hikaru felt like crying to but just laughed instead.
Everyone seemed happy but Inuyasha. He continued to leer at Sesshomaru, who never once took his eyes of the now resurrected man.
Sesshomaru walked over to the crying mass and held his hand out. Sai looked up and reached for it with a shaky hand.
//I owe this being my life...My soul...// Sai couldn\'t help but stare in wonder at the regal youkai.
\"As my compensation for services provided, I will take him with me.\" The demon finally looked at the others.
\"What?\" Inuyasha and Hikaru blared.
\"You heard me well enough. He is no longer tied to you boy, do not hold him captive anymore than you have.\"
\"Wait...I know that, but Sai. Do you want to go with him, just like that?\"
The former ghost didn\'t know what to say, he was wary too, but after what just happened. \"How could I turn down the request of someone who saved me?\"
\"I will miss you very much. But as long as your happy I wont argue.\" Hikaru had to fight the urge to cry. Sai smiled sorrowfully, feeling the same way.
\"Let us leave then.\" Sesshomaru pulled gently on the small hand he still held tightly. Sai followed in a daze from it all. He felt he wasn\'t in this world when he was pulled up on the dragon. The last thing he remembered before black was looking down and seeing Hikaru waving, a small stream of tears flowing from his eyes.
//Good-bye Hikaru...I will never forget you.//

Sesshomaru laughed quietly to himself. What a catch. He had only meant to mess with his annoying little hanyou brother to make his day more interesting. He never dreamed of this outcome. Then he noticed the tiny hands that had held so firmly to his own were now limp. He gazed down at the sleeping form in front of him.
//So many years ago I saw you. You were standing on a cliff. I wanted to speak to you, but...You jumped. I knew you would drown but something in your face made me walk away. You had decided you wanted to die, it was no accident. Still... Your beautiful face never left my thoughts, and now...But it cannot possibly be the same person I saw those many years ago. Your clothes, your hair, they are the same though. It did appear you had breathed in water at time of death...//
Sesshomaru shook his head and caressed the hair of the young man. He would simply have to talk to him once they were home.
//Hmph...\'home\'...//
The trail of fire from the dragons feet cut through the evening horizon.

((This was supposed to be only one chapter, but this way just works better. I mostly wanted to get past the beginning, so the two being together wasn\'t SO unbelievable. Not too worried about plausibility here, I\'m just doing this for Sai...heh. This is a shameless attempt to hook Sai and Sesshomaru from Inuyasha up. Let me know what you think, good or bad... ^_^ ))
