What the Rain Hides
I do NOT own anything in this story that deals with the wonderful manga/anime known as Fruits Basket! I am making no money off of this, I just decided to start a new fic while waiting for my other ones to get transferred

Yuki had said it before, but this time…this time it cut deep.Yuki had said Kyo was worthless and loathed by the entire Sohma family. He had looked him straight in the eyes and said it…in front of everyone. Why did it hurt so much THIS time? It hurt because his shishou and Tohru were standing there when Yuki said it…and they didn’t do anything to make Kyo think otherwise.
He felt betrayed by the two people he thought he could count on the most. His shishou, the only father he had ever known, had just stood there not saying a word to make Kyo feel as if what Yuki said was not true. And then there was Tohru, sweet innoccent Tohru. The girl who came into his life and turned it around for the better, or at least that’s what he had thought. She had seen him in his horrid “other” form and hadn’t run away in fright, she had tried to help him. But she didn’t do anything to help this time. She stood there as if she was frozen to the spot and had lost the ability to speak.
That, Kyo knew, is why this time when Yuki uttered those words, his heart shattered into a million tiny pieces, causing Kyo to feel that he it could never be whole again.
The heartbroken cat did the only thing he could think of at the time, he turned around and ran out the door and away from Shigures home. It hadn’t occurred to him until he was in the cold, wet shack, that he hadn’t even bothered to grab a coat or put on his shoes.
Suddenly Kyo had the overwhelming feeling that he would die in that shack. This wasn’t a spring rain, this was a winter rain that mixed with Ice as it fell. As Kyo sat there shivering, he was happy of one thing, because it was raining so hard, the tears falling down his face couldn’t be seen. He could pretend for that moment that he wasn’t crying, that he was still the strong boy who never let anything get to him. He could pretend, but it wasn’t real. He wasn’t strong anymore, he was weak and he knew it.
At that moment Kyo made up his mind, he wouldn’t go back to Shigure’s house no matter how cold he got. He would sit in that shack until the last breath left his body. He would do the entire Sohma family a favor and cease to exist. After all, he knew how they all felt about him, so why not just end it now? They certainly wouldn’t care.
But, at that very moment, unknown to Kyo, one of the Sohmas were looking for him. Desperately searching for the cat so they could let him know that what Yuki said wasn’t true. It wasn’t true because this certain Sohma held so much love for Kyo he thought he might go mad if he didn’t find a way to express it. He needed to find the neko and let him know that he was loved.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ok so that’s it for the first chapter. I kind of suck at phrasing things and I’m sure my spelling and grammer bites to. I hope you guys enjoy this though and I will make sure I look over it for whatever mistakes I can find!
Anyone have any guesses as to who the mystery Sohma is?
