Title: Here comes the groom.
Rating: T for Teen. (Sorry guys, you'll have to imagine the wedding night your selves!)
Pairing: Tatsuha X Ryuichi na no da!
Warnings: fluff, sap, a tiny bit of angst, and maybe some humor to fill in the gaps.
Summary: Its a Wedding! Enough said.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Tatsuha looked in to the mirror. He still couldn't believe this was happening.
Sure it had been his most secret of secret dreams, but still.
If there had ever been anything with a lease likely chance of happening, he didn't know it.
But he had said yes.
And now, several months later. Here he is, putting on the tux. A pink one too.
Why? Because Ryu had wanted to be dressed in pink together.
A silly thing, but if Ryu wanted it, he'd get it.
"Are you done fussing over your tie?"
Ah, yes, dear ol brother. Helping him with getting ready.
Well actually, he had only stayed here to hide from Shuichi.
Since he's not allowed to smoke anymore.
So now he hides when he wants to smoke, usually only getting half way through one cigarette before he's found.
And that's only because Shu indulges Eiri.
"Yea, I'm ready... I guess."
Gods I'm nervous. But I'm happy too.
I'm 22 years old, I've been Ryu's lover for almost four years now.
And I'm about to tie my self permanently to the love of my life of over eleven years.
Ok, so I didn't want him sexually for the whole of those eleven years.
But It was love at first sight for me.
I just had to wait so god awful long until I was legal, before I was allowed alone with Ryu for any extended time.
And I'm not counting our trip to the zoo, there were way to many people there.
Not to mention Kumagoro.
Did you know that Kumagoro is the best chaperone ever invented?
That bunny can run interference like nothing else.
Not even K is that effective.
It took me a month just to convince Kuma, that no I wasn't just interested in Ryu just for his body.
And no, I didn't mind the age gap.
And most importantly, no I'd still love my sweet Ryu even if he'd be bankrupt tomorrow.
That last one was one very complicated plot that Kuma double teamed together with K and Tohma.
The result was me taking care of Ryu on my meager salary as waiter at a restaurant, with him living at my tiny apartment.
While I believed that Tohma and everybody had abandoned my sweet.
"Well if you're ready, why are you still standing there. Lets go, I have more important things to do that this you know!"
I smirk, Bro really has a unique way of telling people he cares.
I turn away from the mirror and move to the door.
I take a deep breath and open the door, to reveal Shuichi, who was just about to knock.
"Ah, good. You're ready, come on, the ceremony is about to start."
In a way I don't know why I'm nervous. We've already had the whole private, just family and friends thing at the temple.
This is really just for the camera's and fan's.
It really surprised me too, that Ryu's fan's were so supportive of us, when he made the announcement that we were seeing each other.
Ow sure there were a few bigoted reactions, but most were really supportive. I guess we have Shuichi to thank for that.
Thanks to him, the fan-base got used to the whole "guy liking guy" thing.
I guess we appeal to both the yaoi fan's and the gay community. That's a lot of fan's.
I follow Shuichi and Eiri. They're holding hands, the light glinting off their wedding bands.
They tied the knot about a year ago.
I've never seen brother this happy in a very long time. Shu really is exactly what he needed.
I hope we'll get that kind of fairytale story too.
Well, we're off on a good start at least.
The wedding is being held on the Seguchi estate. Mostly because they have the room for it.
Not that Ryu doesn't have just as much land with his house, just outside Tokyo. Its just littered with all kinds of play things.
Most of those are hard or impossible to remove for a Wedding. Like the huge pool, or the mini-golf course. And the huge koi pond.
So we're having it here at Tohma's place, he's cool now that he's concentrating more on his kid instead of running everybody else's lives.
Being a dad has really mellowed him. Well outside of business of course.
At NG he's still top shark.
I smirk, as I imagine Tohma as a shark. Then we leave the house and walk up to where everything is set up.
Its a beautiful day, blue sky, no clouds. And more reporters than there are in Japan together.
I swear there are some from the US and from Europe too.
My sweet Ryu is so talented. When he threw him self in to acting, I had no idea he'd be just as good at that.
But I guess pretending to be a 5 year old all the time must have honed his skills a lot.
His movie was a hit both here, in the USA AND in Europe.
But I really shouldn't have been surprised. Everything my love does, he does perfectly.
Well accept cooking, that's the one thing he's bad at.
Its a good thing I'm a good cook. I had to be, Mika left the temple to live with Tohma so she wasn't there anymore to cook for us.
And Dad couldn't cook to save his life.
Finally, after what felt like an eternity I'm standing next to the wedding official.
Now we all wait for Ryu. Knowing him, he'll have some grand entrance planned.
He's always like that when the camera's roll, and the reporters write at lightning speed to note every detail down.
I don't mind, but I prefer how he's like when its just the two of us.
All pretences are left at the door and its just us. When I don't have to act older than I am.
When he doesn't have to act like a 5 year old to get attention.
Ryu is the worlds biggest attention hog. If he could, he'd have everybody looking at him, talking to him and everything, all the time.
But, he thinks if he just acted his age. People would not pay half as much attention to him.
He's wrong of course, but you try getting him to understand that.
And acting as a 5 year old of course has the advantage of getting underestimated.
Unless your name is Tatsuha of course.
I never underestimated him. Never fell for the Kumagoro act.
Ow, I indulged him, of course. But I never was blinded by it.
I think, that's what drew him to me. My ability to look beyond his masks.
And he has plenty.
The music starts, and then I get my first glimpse of my love.
And I can't believe what I see.
His outfit has so many ruffles it could pass for a dress.
Its not, everybody can see its not.
But its so close, you can just imagine how he'd look if it had been a dress.
And of course its all done in shades of pink.
As Ryu walks up to me with the soft music of shining collection in the background, I for a moment wonder where Kumagoro is.
But then I spot him from the corner of my eye in K's arms.
Then I put all my attention to my love as he walks the last bit up to me and stands across from me next to the wedding official.
I know in those last few minutes, more than a thousand photo's have been snapped and cumulatively speaking at least an hour, maybe more,
Of film has been taped.
But all of that is background noise.
I'm looking in my loves eyes and everything else fades to the background.
Nothing is more important than my beloved Ryuichi.
"We are gathered here today, for this monumental occasion. To unite Ryuichi Sakuma with his beloved Tatsuha Uesugi.
Now before I continue with this ceremony, is there anybody who objects to this union? Speak now, or forever hold you peace."
I hold my breath as the wedding official starts the proceeding.
Gods I'm so nervous. But one look from my love and all is well again.
It doesn't matter if anybody objects, we already belong together and to hell with who-ever thinks differently.
Besides, Tohma would have their hides, and they know it too.
"Well since there are no objections. I will continue the ceremony. Now I believe you both have written your own vows.
Would you like to go first Tatsuha?"
I swallow thickly, trying to get my nerves under control and pull out the piece of paper that I've written my vow for Ryu on.
"I Tatsuha Uesugi, take you Ryuichi Sakuma to be my partner in life and my one true love.
I will cherish our union and love you more each day than I did the day before.
I will trust you and respect you, laugh with you and cry with you, loving you faithfully through good times and bad,
regardless of the obstacles we may face together.
I give you my hand, my heart, and my love, from this day forward for as long as we both shall live."
I finally look up from the piece of paper and look in to my love's eyes.
In that moment, if I hadn't already been deeply in love with my Ryu, I'd have fallen all over again.
His love shining from his eyes so brightly, its like looking strait in to the sun.
"Ryuichi Sakuma? Are you ready to speak your vow for Tatsuha?"
My Ryu blinks and then turns towards the wedding official and nods. Then he turns back at me and starts to recite his vows from memory.
Trust my beloved Ryu to know them by heart, no notes ever needed. He's so fantastic.
And he's all mine!
"I, Ryuichi Sakuma, take you, Tatsuha Uesugi, to be my partner, loving what I know of you, and trusting what I do not yet know.
I eagerly anticipate the chance to grow together, getting to know the man you will become, and falling in love a little more every day.
I promise to love and cherish you through whatever life may bring us. From this day fort until the end of time."
I stare in my love's eyes. No force in this universe could make me look away this moment.
The words are so simple, but their meaning is so huge.
In this simple moment, he's promising me forever. Telling me not even death would stop his love for me.
A single tear falls from my eye. I don't have to tell him how much that means to me.
He already knows.
While we stare in to each others eyes the ceremony continues around us.
"And so by the power invested in me, I now present to you Ryuichi and Tatsuha Sakuma. You may now kiss!"
And of course that's enough incentive for my love to jump me!
He literally leaps in to my arms, kissing me breathless.
I'm sure that picture will be on the front page of every major music magazine around the globe, not to mention all the celebrity gossip rags.
You're probably wondering why I took Ryu's last name right?
Well, I wanted a distinct difference between before and after tying the knot.
And with Eiri having taken Shuichi's last name and Mike with Tohma's last name. It just seemed right.
Now finally my cousin can take over the temple like he's wanted to for so long.
No more Uesugi's left in the world.
I'm sure dad would have been furious. but he's with mom now, so she can calm him down.
I know mom would have loved to be here. Her baby-boy finally married.
And to his one true love too.
I remember when I was five years old, she had told me, to always follow my heart.
Of course at the time that was referred to me having to apologize to Mika for breaking one of her things.
But its and advice I've kept in my heart all this time, and I'll keep it with me till my dyeing day.
Ryu is hugging me, holding me in such a way that I can compose my self before all the camera's snap pictures of me crying.
After I'm ok again, he guides me to the wedding cake.
I know what he's up to, my sweet Ryu is far to fond of American customs.
No doubt will he want to smear cake all over my face, well he'll have to accept that I'll be eating cake of his face too.
After the cake, and the reception, the dance and Ryu throwing a garter in to a crowd that mostly contains camera people and journalists.
We snicker as they part only to show Suguru with the black garter hanging from an ear.
And then in no time its time to leave the party. Let Tohma and K deal with everything else.
We're going on a honeymoon to of all places Holland, in Europe.
Why?
Because Kumagoro wants to see in they really do wear wooden shoes there.
And because K said that the people there treat celebrities with respect and don't hound them like in other places.
I'm curious what it will be like.
But I already know there is nothing in this world that can change how I feel right now.
Because right now, I'm the luckiest person alive.
Not because I married Ryuichi Sakuma, no, because I married the love of my life and we have our whole lives ahead of us.
Owari.
