"A day full of surprises. Make yourself at home! The Blondie seated himself on a chair next to the dealer and poured himself a glass of wine.
Katze directed his attention from the monitor to Raoul, "Has been a while.
Raoul, who wasn't in the mood for small-talk, cut to the chase, "Hazall.
"I kept an eye on him.
"Very well. Inform me about every step he takes.
"Of course.
"I'm interested in every detail.
Katze threw a storage chip to him. For a man in his late thirties the dealer was breathtaking to look at. He was beautiful.
"Nothing concrete, but interesting.
Raoul finally managed to relax by reading the data on the chip.
Since Iason has been gone, he run the syndicate together with Kyle.
Of course Raoul was never enough to replace the famous Mink but to be grouped with Kyle disgusted him.
Kyle was infatuated with him and demonstrated it in a disgracing open manner.
Being forced into this new life was a burden but Jupiter was never concerned for his feelings.
Feelings. Strange word.
Katze had been helpful at any time. Iason called him 'someone with talent' and lately Raoul agreed to this opinion.
Katze was indeed irreplaceable in the market.
Over the years Raoul learned to run things like Iason. He finally put up with the situation, but not with the loss. Iason...
He dwelt on thoughts when a noise gave him a start. The door swung open and a youth stepped in. Familiar to the Blondie at first sight.
"Katze, you could have warned me!
The boy tossed a kerchief into the sink. His nose bled.
Watch your manners! We got a guest.
The infuriated boy hadn't noticed the Blondie. He turned around, unsure what to say.
A shiver went through Raoul. Riki!
Realizing his mistake the Blondie examined him. Blue eyes but the rest - a perfect copy of him.
Another thought crossed his mind, 'Mimea.' It was followed by anger and hatred, deep felt hatred.
Fortunately Katze managed to get the boy out of the room before Raoul recollected himself. He ordered annoyed about the matter, "Do some work!
"Something wrong?
"Nothing of your concern. He pushed Raven in the direction of the stairway.
"O.K. O.K. Got it!
~
Katze lit himself a cigarette while coming back, "You realized?
"Of course. Raoul's voice clearly betrayed anger. He was furious, although he didn't rightly know what for.
Anobsurd idea rushed into his mind, "Call him back!
Katze breathed a sigh and pushed a button at his terminal, "Take him, if you want but ...
"Shut up!"
Moments later the boy returned with a cleaned face. He wore one of the blue storage-overalls. His gaze roamed from Katze to Raoul and back.
The Blondie took a long intensive look at him, which provoked an uncomfortable feeling to spread out in the boy's chest. The steely glance made Raven's hair stand on end but he glared back, looking,
'I'm a mongrel -so what, Blondie? I'm proud of it!'
Katze bellowed, "Raven! and surprising to Raoul the boy minded him. He adopted a more submissive pose except for his eyes.
They darted a withering glance at Raoul.
"Very well. Teach him the basics. I expect him him within ten minutes at the car. He left both mongrels stunned.
The boy's face grew pale as a sheet of paper. "Katze?
Katze lit himself a cigarette, thinking, "Raoul?"
"Katze!
"Take it as a chance! The dealer remained calm as always
"That's barely a chance you know better, Katze!
Raven's anger got the better of him. He spit, "I hope you made a big deal. I can't stand the thought of being less more then a bottle of stout.
"All the same.
The boy lunged for him, infuriated by Katze's steely composure. He was fast but Katze overcame him with ease.
"You're a hundred years too early to face me.
Raven cried out, "Let go of me!
Katze pulled him into a close embrace. Raven tried to resist him but he had nothing on Katze. He simply rested his face against the dealer's chest, barely aware of the dealer's coaxing.
Shudders went through his body. He put on an amour of self-restraint under wich no feelings existed. He wouldn't acknowlede them. Katze was able to tell it by the look in his eyes. It was the same with Raven when he found him.
The kid lay unconscious behind a storage container one leg broken, bruises all over his body and feverish and his fists bled. He have had a tough fight beyond all doubt.
He looked a lot like Riki. The dealer picked him up this minute.
The kid was difficult to get on with. He was used to hide his thoughts and feelings in much the same manner like Katze.
Always calm and cold on the outside, with only his eyes speaking a different language.
Katze had a feeling, that the boy beared him a grudge but Raven never behaved badly towards him.
He reminded him of himself much to Katze's confusion. That kid fell short short of one's expectations.
After discerning Raven's exceptionell skills in everything about computers, they spent many hours together burning the midnight oil.
Katze employed him in the warehouse but always out of sight to the public eye. Being together became habitual. The boy kept the apartment clean and prepared meals.
He slept on the sofa - tossing and turning.
Katze often wondered about his dreams.
After gathering some information everything fell into place - Raven, though quite young, was the missing suspect in the Midget-case.
The dealer faced a bitter truth. To extradite the boy condemned him to death.
Katze may have been responsible for catching him in the first place but
killing Riki's son - he couldn't.
Little by little they opened up to each other. It has almost been 3 years...
"Lets get over with! Raven got rid of Katze's viselike grip. "It seems you have been my destiny again.
He walked away with that remark as leaving present. It suddenly dawned on Katze that the boy knew about it too.
The boy stood at the entrance of Katze's bedroom, motionless and silent as a mouse. His features contorted in a mixture of hatred, hostility and yet adoration.
This man. Why always this man?
The dealer was the nightmare of his childhood.
What was an unnamed threat at the beginning became later a face that appeared in his darkest dreams.
I hate you!
The smell of that place clung to Katze's clothes.
Raven felt like going back in time. He remembered crying and laughing voices. They reached his ears from the patio above.
He vaguely remembered the patio but he draw scenes of the children there in his mind.
How many of them knew, what was hidden under their feet ...
Years passed but the memories of the gloomy laboratory and whining from the other side of the wall still plastered Raven's mind.
He had rather stayed on his side of the wall but he was only a child and a slave. Nothing he wanted mattered.
Only the wishes of the man who taught him to fear mattered. They ruled his world.
Yes, my little fuck-toy. Look into his eyes! That's what you become like, when I give you to the dealer.
Soul's laughter tormented him. He was seized with panick .
Brother, I have a gift for you.
Raven struggled, kicked and screamed. He begged, but nothing filtered down to the man. He was out of his mind - mad.
He struggled desperately and pushed but Soul restraint him with ease - always.
Be still or shall I give you to the dealer?
The threat and Soul's sardonic smile terrified Raven to some extent.
The franzy crying of his brother made it worst.
"No! Please!" Tears trickled from his eyes. He could do nothing but pray. His prayers went unheard.
His clothing was snatched away.
"Please!"
Soul struck him across the face before he threw him over onto his belly. The boy was all of a tremble.
Pain tore through every fiber of his body. It took his breath away.
He felt the flesh rippling when the man slammed into him.
Over and over, with needless brutality.
Blood ran down Raven's tights. Eventually he fainted. The man nearly raped him to death.
It remained not the last time and although he thought he rather died, he clung to life.
He learned to hush and endure.
He buried screams of horror in the depths of his soul but
they begged for attention - every time he looked at Katze.
He bit his lips, infuriated by the flashback. He was used to fearing the dealer, to hating him.
He watched him in his sleep.
It's unfair!
He didn't understand the confusing mixture of his emotions.
He desperately tried to hold on the hatred but he couldn't ... he couldn't ... because...
I love you.
