Curiosity and the Cats
At some point all actors begin to wonder, with some part of thier brain, if the part they play is who they are, who they've become. This was the very thought that spurred the usually passive Kaoru to turn his head at just the wrong -or right, as some may veiw it- moment during one of his and Hikaru's practice "sessions."
Beleive it or not, being a host in Tamiki's pet project was harder than it seemed. For the twins, social interaction was not something that had come naturally, it had to be learned, practiced. This was precicely what they had been doing when Kaouru had let his curiosity get the better of him. It had been Hikaru's idea to begin with, after all, what that they did wasn't? He was the dominant one, the one in charge, and while that sometimes bothered the slightly softer twin, he never let it get to him. He knew how to get his way when he wanted it, and often did. "What about this?" Hikaru dipped Kaoru low, hovering over him with in a hairs bredth of touching. Haruhi made a non-comital noise from across the room where she was studying something or another, the twins had hardly spared a glance for her homework before bullying her into playing judge for them. It was rather difficult to judge oneself on one's performance, except in the full length dance mirror along the far wall, but looking up into it tended to ruin the effect a bit.
The fact that she was paying more mind to her bookwork than him irked Hikaru to no end, though he would deny this if asked. So he decided rather in the heat of the moment as it were, to pullout the preverbial big-guns. He scooped Kaoru back up, pulling the identical man close to him, and leaning his forhead against his brother's, lips nearly touching. It was then that Kaoru would usually blush and turn shyly to the side, bashfuly berating his brother's harshness, but today things played out rather a touch differently. Kaoru had begun to wonder to himself, quite without his brother's knowledge, if this was who they really were.
And he turned his head.
Hikaru was in shock. It was'nt a kiss so much as a pressing of lips. The brothers stared into eachother's unfocused eyes from an inch away for some moments before pulling back. Hikaru's brows drew together and his eyes flicked from side to side as he processed this new information. He licked his lips, touched his brother's jaw, faltered for a second, and then kissed him like he ment it. It was an interesting sensation, kissing one's own blood, and Kaoru thought about this very carefully. He even went so far as to undo the first few buttons of Hikaru's shirt, but it was as he suspected. He felt nothing. Oh, it was nice, that much he could admit, and it technicly felt good, but there was no fluttering in his stomach, no nervous excited skip in his heartbeat. He could stand there making out with his brother for hours and never feel a thing for him but platonic compassion.
They seemed to decide that at the same time, as they often did, and they pulled away from eachother. "Hikaru..." Kaoru started and Hikaru finished, "I know, it's just not as much fun," Then Kaoru smirked, "Not with just us." Hikaru caught on immediately and gave his brother a devilish grin, "But if there was another player..." "It might be more fun..." They turned as one and smiled impishly in the direction of the oblivious girl on the far side of the room.
Haruhi had just finished writing down the answer to a particularly long essay question when her notebook de-materialized from her hand. A sudden pressure on her head let her know who the culprit, or culprits rather, were. "Social sience?" Hikaru groaned as he flung the text onto a nearby cushion, "Boring." Kaoru echoed and treated the notebook to the same process. "We want to play a game." "With you." Hikaru amended. Haruhi sighed in resignition. This was not the first time the twins had turned to her in thier boredom, and it likely would not be the last. She had discovered, after the first few episodes, that the easiest way to get rid of them was to give in.
"Fine." She groaned, wrestling Hikaru off her head and standing up. She straightened the wrinkles in her suit and faced them, "What game?" They smiled broadly and glanced at eachother and Haruhi got an uneasy feeling in her stomach. That look never ment good things. "Never mind." And she started away, but Hikaru skipped in front of her, blocking her path. "Ah, but you already agreed!" Kaoru's arms looped around her waist as he rested his chin on her shoulder, "You don't want us to be bored, do you?"
"What game?" She asked suspiciously again. "It's called," Kaoru turned his head, brushing his lips against her jaw, "Steal Haruhi's first kiss." The girl blinked up at Hikaru as he came closer, literaly sandwiching her between them, "But," she started genuinely bewildered, "I've had my first kiss already..." She wasn't scared, not anymore, they played like this all the time and meant nothing by it. Hikaru might give her a kiss on the cheek, that would be the extent of thier game and then she'd be free to go back to her homework as they went back to practicing. "Girls," Hikaru started, leaning in, "Don't" He rested one hand on her hip as the other tilted her chin up, "Count..." He pressed his lips over hers.
Haruhi had to admit, she hadn't been expecting this, nor had she expected it to make her feel like it did. Her whole body tensed up as Hikaru's lips touched hers, her stomach did flip-flops as he started to move, and she thought her heart might burst when his tounge flicked over her lips. She felt very hot and she wasn't entierly sure what was going on. Hikaru was her friend, why did she suddenly feel so more-than-friendly towards him? She pushed him away from her, both hands flat on his chest. "Are you done?" She intoned dryly, face perfectly straight. She didn't want to give the boys the wrong impression, and even implying that what had just taken place was acceptable was the wrong impression.
"Not nearly," Kaoru purred as he spun her around and treated her with the same gentle passion his brother had bestowed on her not a moment before. She tasted like him, like Hikaru, but somehow it was different now. Something in Kaoru's gut clicked and he got that nervous adrenaline rush. This was how it was suposed to be. He ran one hand over the edge of her cheek and pulled back, his large amber eyes flicking back and forth between her own brown orbs. She had kissed him back, he was sure of it. He had even felt her hands tracing the edge of his hips. Her touch had been soft, uncertain, but in her eyes he saw fear, nervousness. There was no touch of the pleasure he thought she may have been feeling. Kaoru's eyebrows knit together, "Just...just say stop if you want us to..."
"Stop." Haruhi couldn't go on like this. First Hikaru, now Kaoru? What was she doing? She couldn't be having these feelings for them. It was unprofessional, more over, they were her classmates and she was suposed to act like a boy. It was necissary to keep her cover if she ever wanted to pay that vase off. If...if they did this, there was no way she could hide her feelings entierly. She'd either be discovered, or, possibly worse, taken as being gay. "Ahhhhh" Hikaru groaned as he pulled away from her back and ran a hand through his hair. "Game over, Kaoru. We loose." Kaoru smiled and shrugged, pulling away as well. "Looks like, Hikaru." Kaoru and Hikaru linked arms as they started towards the full length mirror. They'd just have to deal with the looks being a bit off as they checked for themselves if they had the possitioning down right.
"Um.." This soft utterance stopped both of the twins in thier tracks and they turned as one to look at thier smaller club-mate in bewilderment. "Uh," Haruhi continued, head ducked, eyes covering in her lengthening bangs. She'd have to cut them soon. "Maybe, we can play, uh, again. Someday." The twins looked at eachother, shocked for a second and Haruhi looked away. When she turned back the boys had materialized in front of her, bent slightly and regarding her with an anilitical stare. "We can't play that game again." Hikaru started, "It's a one time thing." Kaoru continued, "But..." The boys smirked "We can play Steal Haruhi's first something-else..."
Hauhi barely had time to blink in shock before they had her pressed between them. "Wh...what game?" She repeated, hoping she hadn't heard what she thought she had. "Steal Haruhi's something-else?" Hikaru suggested, and brushed his mouth over her ear. She blushed and jerked away, but there was no escape. Kaoru pressed along her oppisite side, nipping at her right lobe. Haruhi shuddered. Two hands linked with thier twin over the small of her back while two more moved in unison over her stomach, arms and collarbone, avoiding any questionable areas. "So you'll play?" Her befuddled response sounded more like "hefud hu rum." Than the assention it probably was.
Hikaru made a low sound in his throat, something akin to a purr, and laid first claim on her mouth while Kaoru continued his ministrations along her ear, jaw and dipping down to her throat. She moaned softly around Hikaru's insistant lips. This wasn't really so bad, was it? It felt so good... and besides, if she could hide being a girl from a whole school full of hormone driven teenagers, not, she realized suddenly, so unlike herself, surely she could hide this, right? The idea of stopping now seemed unthinkable, the way her heart was pounding in her chest, the soft caress of one or the other's hands over her now, somehow, exposed midriff. Or perhaps it was only that he had untucked her shirt and slipped a hand inside, it was hard to concentrate on such frivolities with Hikaru's mouth feeding hungrily at hers and Kaoru's duplicating the motion at the soft hollow where her neck met her shoulder.
"What are the rules?" She hadn't heard the words the first time, only turned away from Hikaru to look cloudedly into his twin's face. "Huh?" She didn't feel like herself, she felt... fuzzy, hot, compleatly informal. Not like Haruhi at all, maybe like some thing that had once been Haruhi, but no, not like herself. "The rules," Kaoru repeated, "What are they?" "This is your game." Hikaru nuzzled his face into her neck, "We just want to play." but his eyes, flickered slightly, "No, that's not quite right." He sighed, or huffed was more like it. The older brother had never really liked showing too much of his inner self, so Kaoru finished the thought for him. "We just want -you-, Haruhi." the younger compleated softly, running a hand through her hair. Haruhi had to swallow a couple of times, then, after a false start she could meet thier longing gaze. "R... red light, green light." She stammered, "Last one to the, uh, to the finish line wins?"
"Agreed." This rough growling response came unexpectedly from Kaoru as he took up where his brother had left off.
