Prologue

Eh... I really have nothing to say except be nice

Prologue: Get Out Alive

She burned with excitement as she returned home to Moscow, Russia with her cousin, Linda. She gave a gentle push on the door and her eyes widen when it fell to the floor with a thud.

“Maybe papa didn’t screw something in tightly.”

Linda looked at her and laughed. “Yeah, maybe. Fixing things was never his strong point.”

They walked into the living room and sat their things on the floor. Linda plopped on the couch and turned the television on.

“I’m going to tell them we’re back, ‘kay Linda?”

“All right then, Larissa. I’ll sit here and mindlessly flip through the channels like I always do.”

Larissa made her way up the stairs the her ears perked at hearing music from their room. Getting closer, she heard the song “Nara” by E.S Posthumus (totally don't own that). She thought it was a rather sad song so she naturally assumed something must have happened. Knocking on the door, she heard nothing and the next time she knocked, the door creaked open. Taking that as a sign, Larissa calmly walked in.

“Mama? Papa?”

She heard nothing and went to turn the radio off. Most likely they left the house and left the radio on like they always did. Turning to walk out, something caught her eye. She clapped her hands, making the lights brighter and what she saw, made her fall to her knees.

“Il mio dio…”

She looked up at the wall and screamed as loud as she could, sobs racking her frame.

“Larissa! What’s the matter?”

Linda ran into the room and looked to where Larissa was facing. Her eyes burned with tears and she looked away. Larissa’s parent were nailed to the wall, with their limbs cut off. She looked at her father and covered her mouth as if she was going to throw up. Her father was headless. She looked down to avoid the image but saw his head by his feet, a look of anger and shock plastered on his face. Blood was splattered everywhere and she could only guess they were killed moments before they walked in since the blood was still wet.

“La…rissa…” Linda’s voice was quiet and saddened. She knew Larissa’s connection with her parents was strong and she was close to no one else in her family, but her. Larissa stood up and walked over toward the wall with a blank stare. She raised her hand to her mother’s neck and slowly took off the necklace she was wearing.

“Troverò chi ha fatto questo a loro.”

She heard Linda gasp and turned to face her. “What?”

“Look above them… in blood.”

Larissa looked up and read what she saw written in her parents blood.

“Rosenkreutz?”

“I heard about them.” Linda spoke up slightly. “I think they are somewhere in Rome.”

Larissa went to her father’s drawer and picked up something. “Then we are headed to Rome.”

“What’s that, Larissa?” Linda asked, referring to what Larissa picked up.

“Something that will be of some use to me.”

“Larissa you’re 15. How do you expect to get to Rome on your own? I’m coming with you.”
